If you flash them you will still consume nearly as much power and by flashing a BIOS the cards are never as stable as they are on default settings, so if you are getting 28.3 Mhs on each one of them by mining ethereum it is a really good hashrate.

If you need to flash them or would like to ,there are a lot of guides, in google, youtube and including this very specific area of the forum, just do a search.
12922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 27, 2018, 06:33:27 PM
Tough game tomorrow for Manchester City if they want to keep up with Liverpool and stay on the same points in the standings. Probably many persons will bet on Manchester City tomorrow including myself.

Tomorrow the games are more interesting to watch on TV because there are strong teams playing, like Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City together with Tottenham.
12923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4x Nvidia gtx 1070 Ti Rig pulling 755 W? What's you guys' specs? on: October 26, 2018, 08:25:35 PM
That is because the 755 W is the total your rig is consuming not only the cards. And just for you to know, Linux uses 5% more energy than the Windows OS in mining, yes it is a thing where Linux is behind.

That is the reason why your power meter reads 755 W and I think this is a much normal power consumption in a rig with 4 Gtx 1070 cards.
12924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 26, 2018, 08:16:59 PM
Milan lost against Betis playing at home which is some kind of surprise for me as the form of Milan in Europa League has been very good so far. Aside this game I didn't see any noticeable surprises in yesterday games. Is it just an impression I have or the games in Europa League end up like most people predict and are easy to guess compared to Champions League ?
12925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA 1060 6GB Mining rig show only 2 of the 6 cards on: October 24, 2018, 08:53:55 PM
You wrote "Device Manager" so i guess it's windows.
To make it quick just reinstall windows on one card only (ofc in mainboard) then install all drivers, miners etc.
If it works well, add risers and graphic cards just one by one.

That is what you should do if you want to be back up and running within the shortest amount of time possible. I think you may have corrupted your OS files and Windows is easy corruptible.

A clean install of the OS, of course by taking out any money if you happen to have your wallet in this rig, just get the seed before doing this clean install and you should be up and running to the point where you were before.

Sometimes it is also advisable to look in the motherboad BIOS settings and to enable 4G and Pciex 1.
12926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what Software and coin to mine whit 460m GTX on laptop? on: October 24, 2018, 08:39:08 PM
The 460m GTX on a laptop won't take you very far at all. Stats will be bad not only in Minergate but with any other possible mining software out there.

I test these old cards with the Nicehash or Winminer software and do an assessment test, which I am sure in your case will be in negative because maximum you will make 6-10 dollars in a month and that is an optimist prediction by my side.

So in the end it is not advisable to mine with the 460m GTX but you can try to sell your laptop for parts, I am sure you will get about 50 dollars in total which can be a good deal if the laptop is in the miserable condition you mention above.
12927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 24, 2018, 08:24:03 PM
PSG is losing but I would not think in this game is a clear hot favourite like everyone else is saying. Napoli is playing well in the boring Serie A Championship and has good quality players, in fact they are leading the game 0-1 so far.

I think that maybe PSG will turn things around but probably not knowing Ancelotti and his pro active style of game play, I mean he attacks in the beginning and when he scores he tells the team to get back and play counter attack.
12928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 24, 2018, 11:55:04 AM
I thought Real Madrid would have won by many goals difference yesterday at their home against a weak team. It is evident now that without Ronaldo they are suffering in the forward area.

Tonight the game which I am interested to watch is Dortmund against Atletico Madrid, I think it will be a goaless draw and a strong match.
12929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 22, 2018, 08:24:52 PM
It was clear in the qualifiers that Ferrari had an edge, strangely enough for me in this track where Mercedes has win 5 races. This just make the title fight move to the next race as Hamilton and Mercedes will have an advantage in Mexico. Usually they have done well there and also in the Brazil race.

That leaves Ferrari very little chances to win the drivers Championship title, it is more like F1 marketing that Hamilton didn't win in USA.
12930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners are butt hurt on: October 22, 2018, 07:54:34 PM
Anyone is free to mine with whatever equipment he/she can afford and no one should be made fun of. Some have more money and they buy ASICS devices, some don't and with the low price of the GPU-s now they can build a rig with just under 1000 dollars.

Everybody has his/her own view on the matter. I turned off my colleagues rigs because they asked me to do so , but I continue with my home miner and it is still going well with the GPU-s for me. As long as there is profit in the end of the day I am happy.

Where do you see the butthurt in here ?
12931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 21, 2018, 05:29:36 PM
A stopping point for Juventus is always good for the Serie A but I know they will win this Serie A too and that is why I don't like it or see it much. The odd on Juventus was a 1.16 and losing such odd I know how it feels, I almost quit gambling completely when I lost for three bets on the same day from teams like Roma with an odd 1.20 as this was just saying to me , you are never going to win in gambling.

I did restart but I play not as often and not with such odds anymore.
12932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 21, 2018, 04:35:51 PM
It will be an interesting race which is just about to start after less than two hours from now. I saw the qualifiers and I saw the Mercedes struggled a lot with the Supersoft tires and since these tires will be used for most of the race it will be interesting the behaviour of Mercedes in this race.

I believe Hamilton will win the title here.
12933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Today I turned off all the miners I manage on: October 20, 2018, 08:22:45 PM
mining is still profitable - yet not that sort it was a year ago, but still profit.

anyone having a rig, which already paid for itself and reasonable price for electricity has little reason to turn it off. In our case, we pay ~0.14ct/kwh for our testrigs in our office and those rigs making 130-150% of electricity daily (means we earn 50% more than what we pay for mining electricity). For us it literally pays for the additional electricity (+basic charge) we use in the office environment and still have a little extra for coffee and such stuff.

So - given, the rigs already paid itself - they do earn money. Not enough for a lambo but at least they can cover other costs of your daily life. Using a proper software you don't even move a finger for that, beside exchanging to fiat for paying electricity.

Buying new rigs? Hard to judge. But still a better investment than photovoltaic for example (which needs much longer to hit ROI - but with less risk)

The rigs have paid back for themselves thankfully but what my colleagues did is that they have left a lot of cryptos untouched and they do not want to sell now and are waiting for a better time. I told them that what they are doing seems just about right so we are waiting together.

My small home rig I have it on mining X16R algorithm as it is the one giving me the better results compared to any other algorithm with Nvidia cards.
12934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: October 20, 2018, 07:27:07 PM
I just got a text message from a friend that Real's manager is being replaced by Conte.  Lol.  And that Conte already signed the contract.  Grin

Can anybody confirm this?

I doubt they would replace the manager so early on the season. I have never seen Real Madrid doing such things from a long time now. I am the one who think that Mourinho should go away from Manchester United but still for Lopetegi here I think he has not had enough time to show his true colours with Real Madrid.

If I were Real Madrid president I would give him time at least until end of December before taking any final decision like firing him.
12935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 20, 2018, 04:53:24 PM
I didn't expect Chelsea to fail to win against a weak Manchester United today but that what Premier League is, it is full of surprises although many people will not consider this draw a surprise I do. I do because Manchester United has not shown convincing football in the last games they had both in national and international territory so I lost some money on Chelsea today.
12936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Today I turned off all the miners I manage on: October 18, 2018, 05:07:44 PM
I manage a few miners for some of my colleagues and they all told me and insisted that their miners to be turned off. Here where we are electricity is on the high side being roughly 0.11 cent/kwatt for businesses and a bit higher for personal use. We were barely getting to be even with Rx 570 and Rx 580 series so all 20 mining rigs are turned off for the moment.

What are you guys doing with yours ?
12937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 18, 2018, 04:56:25 PM
Yes because I was reading the news like I do daily and they even add a special article to Piatek in one website I usually read daily European news. The president of Genoa has gone crazy and asks an incredible amount of money , not sure what the sum was but if any European team wants him, they need to pay this big sum to Genoa.
12938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 17, 2018, 09:04:36 PM
Juventus vs Genoa.

My prediction: 3:1

Hat trick Ronaldo and 1 goal Piatek.

If Piatek. will score it will be his 9th goal in nine games .He is close to equal Batistuta record
And he did score for Polish national team against Portugal
Genoa wants 50 mln euro for him
Lets see how he will perform against iron Juve defense

Piatek is doing well so far but the reason I don't watch anymore the Serie A is because of Juventus winning it a lot of years in consecutive order. Lately many teams are playing well in Serie A but this is not enough to win against Juventus and I think Piatek will not score during this game.
12939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Check your Electric Bill on: October 17, 2018, 08:33:16 PM
If you put the rigs in such a way that they heat some of the premises, you will win even more in the winter by paying bills. In winter, mining becomes more profitable due to savings on heating, which mining takes over.

That is true, in fact it seems from a hot summer, where I am located it is started to become very cold at nights especially but I sleep well with my little 1050 ti-s mining computer beast heater. Unfortunately I have a fixed electricity cost so I don't win anything like in some other countries where energy is cheaper during the night. Still I don't turn my AC on very often in winter with a miner running.

All software run just fine on 396.48 (I'm not new to this). Also tried newer versions of ethminer (in fact I tried all from 0.12 to 0.16.1).

Has anyone here *ACTUALLY* used 410.66 under Ubuntu 16.04 with nvidia 1070/1080/1070ti/1080ti ?

Note that these drivers were released *today*.

@swogerino gddr6 has nothing to do with it (gtx10x0 doesn't use gddr6).

Yes you are right about Gtx 10 series and I made an error by not explaining well, I mean that the new Rtx 20 series will be able to squeeze more out of them with the new mining software programs, as these new versions need to extract the full power of Gddr6. This is what I mean.
