12981  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Asics Technoligies Question? on: November 18, 2014, 12:11:50 AM
Steve-o

Good post bud. TBH i am unsure if he shared his design, however what i do know is that this chip to me personally is a new one.  I personally did nothing with alcheminer so i can neither confirm nor deny.  But what i do know is is that the chip is a solid one. And a new one to me personally.  I have devved on i would say 90% of the scrypt chips and never seen this one or something similar to it.

So take that for what it's worth.  Overall, im pretty satisfied with the machine.  It is a bit power hungry but no more than necessary i'd say.  In any tape out it is almost impossible to pin point exactly what the power usage will be.  But this chip out performs any that i personally have devved on.

Got any other questions bud?

Did you happen to get answer on the TITANIUM 2?  Was it put on hold? (I like BTC gear).

I am also curious as a customer on scrypt when you mention 1/2 of chips are not yours.  I would like to be able to compare what other 1/2 of chips you didn't get.  Can you ask someone who they were sent to?  It just seems like you would know who you split the chips with.

(Both meant as legitimate questions not trying to stir trouble on chips, just as a possible customer I think it's fair to know).
12982  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to mining (looking to buy hardware) on: November 17, 2014, 11:57:25 PM
It would also be useful if you say why you want to get into mining.  For example is it just as a hobby.

Unless your electricity price is under about $0.1 USD per kilowatt hour (including taxes) you are unlikely to ever make a profit.  Basically a miner is simply a device for converting electricity into Bitcoin.  You need very cheap electricity and the most electrically efficient miner.  Most bitcoin mining now occurs in a small number of industrial scale 'farms' in areas with very cheap hydro or geothermal electricity.

For the majority of the world bitcoin mining by individuals is now just an expensive hobby.

I plan on running all of the hardware off solar panels to stop the high electricity bills. I am just doing research on hardware right now trying to get some suggestions on products !
i would like to get at least 2 machines that run 1 t/h each i already know the prices are around 1000+ ? what product would you recommend?

Look at Bitmain.  If you look at forums they just sent out coupons for miners bought in past.  The S4 (2T) you can get a 400 off coupon.  Keep in mind there is shipping.  That being said around 1400 watt is a heck of a lot of power from a solar panel.  You will never pay off the panels with mining.  If you are in a place high enough you need solar, I suggest looking into hosting.
12983  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long to mine 1.0 BTC ? on: November 17, 2014, 11:38:07 PM
You could probably get 0.000001btc per day which takes forever to reach 1btc. Give up the idea of mining bitcoin with GPU, that is what I am saying.

it doesn't stay consistent as the profitability goes down

GPU has been down so long most have sold their cards.  It's sad but chances are you can sell off cards and buy BTC and you will get more BTC then it would ever mine.

For BTC mining you just have to use a asic now.
12984  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to mining (looking to buy hardware) on: November 17, 2014, 11:34:56 PM
Do ROI math.  The one you are looking at there is a Dragon 1T. Looks like lketc work but could be wrong.  These are no longer the most efficient out there.

Personally I would buy a little more power efficient miner. I personally like Bitmain right now and going to try a SP-20.   The S4 with 400 off coupon seems to be a pretty good deal right now.  You do need to have decent electricity or find a good hosting site.
12985  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which coin to mine on: November 17, 2014, 11:27:38 PM
Just start mining few day ago.  have 2 antminer s3+ want to know which coin to mine to mine Btc or any other which is mire profitable
i suggest focusing on bitcoin, but you can look into altcoins section and with enough studying the matter you might find some coin that is worth somethig
Bitcoin is the safe bet.  You can easily mine or trade BTC for alt coins.   The hard part is picking which one.   Look for one with a decent amount of traffic on exchange, if no exchange traffic, then chances are not a good bet.  Use coinwarz and other sites to coins that are on an upswing.  I suggest possibly doing it with no money at first try a few on paper and see how you do.   If good... go for it.  Just never use more then you can afford to lose.
12986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 more questions on: November 17, 2014, 11:16:52 PM
Depends on the usb miner.  Most though have 1 chip and a decent heat sync.  I know at one time i had 50 block erupter sticks running with a light breeze from a fan.   They really heat ambient temperature  much.

Some of the newer multi chip ones I have not had a chance to use.  Anymore the small usb cost more then they will bring in they are a novelty.
12987  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Cooled Miner C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 17, 2014, 10:56:23 PM

Considering this miner can take 8 PCIe they should have looked at problem before throwing a PCIe connector on it.   Who has 9 PCIe unless you use a server PSU or adapters?

But not surprising considering all the dead pumps, and harness of death the first batch got.   They should have looked at good old molex connection.  Maybe even split it where not all on one cheap wire.

I'm still waiting for their manager to ok compensation... wonder what it means that they never got back to me......

It's a male PCI-E power connector, it would go in one of the unused ports on the miner to pull power back out to run the fans/pump.
I'm running my C1 with just four PCI-E connectors and they don't really get warm (~180W each)

If it has a male PCI-E end on it can't you then just plug it into your modular power supply itself?

Also, this bit about DUST and cleaning the pump before use. Syscooling is suggesting we take apart the pump completely and clean it out with some water because it was tested before it shipped without any liquid in it. Doesn't running these kind of pumps without any liquid grind the pieces down?

Not sure as my RMA pumps and new harness are still in China in the slow mail.  No customer has received new harness yet.  I believe all have the dangerous possible firestarter harness.

And yes it's a horrible idea to run these pumps dry.  If you google it you will see it's laughable that anyone who is a liquid cooling company would do it.  Just Google "Should you run a computer pump dry".  Everyone agrees never should be done.   They are doing i think they were told to test gear, they were shipping out untested which could explain batch 1 amount of DOA or failing components.   The fact they brag about running pumps dry shows the knowledge of syscooling.

Proper Pump And Fan Power

Thanks to Bitmain especially Yoshi for help.  As I know I was scared that that wiring harness fried the whole board lucky syscooling just fried the fan controller (sucks less then total burning out, but yes still sucks)

With zero thanks to syscooling their gear is still traveling EMS and maybe in a few weeks I will get it who knows.   They did zero compensation for downtime with 2 pumps dead.  Just RMA me some more low quality gear on slowest possible shipping.

Cost estimate for new pump was around 40 dollars each (shipping included).  And around 10 dollars shipped for molex to 6 3 pin fan connectors. (Allows me to connect without opening case).

Pump Left Side - Wiring Molex to Fan Board Right Picture

Suggestion:
If you got first batch pump's with first edition harness to send in for a RMA. Even if it seems to work ok.  Mine first pump ran for around 6 days or so great then stopped, other ran for one more day then fried 2 boards.  Do not let them harm your miner like they did mine.   Send in for RMA asking for new harness also i suggest trying for pump as they have a higher then average faulty rate it would seem.

To get RMA email  mk@ysun.net  or   watercooling@ysun.net and send a picture.  I suggest doing RMA asking for new harness and pump soon as they do use EMS (Very slow mail from China).  I don't want others to have to wait like I did on gear and end up buying it since syscooling is so slow and hard to do rma.

Why go thru the board at all?
This could happen again, if the pump dies, one of the fans die, cable harness gets yanked.

I'm thinking of going directly to the PSU (with the molex to 6 x3 pin fan connector)

I'm am going through a molex power cord to a 6 slot - 3 pin board.  It uses a molex cable direct from PSU to power it that's the beauty of that board.  Does not go through Hashing boards. Operates separate then miner but on same PSU.  This IS NOT made by syscooling and is not their harness.

Newly designed fan wiring harness, could be plugged in board directly from outside, and you needn't to remove top cover fo C1.Also 3*3pin for fans and 1*4pin for pump.

Im still a bit cautious that you have a fairly significant power load (3x2A fans and a 2A pump) using only a single wire pair - thats around 90W load and it appears to only be 18awg wire.

The PCIe connector is a good idea, but you should make use of the fact it has room for 3 wire pairs, and better distribute the load so more wire harnesses dont get hot or burn through

Considering this miner can take 8 PCIe they should have looked at problem before throwing a PCIe connector on it.   Who has 9 PCIe unless you use a server PSU or adapters?

I got my C1 coupons.  Thanks!

Now the checkout is messed up:

I hope their SHA256 math is better than this. Sad

M

Looks like the shipping cost is showing artificially low, can you PM me an address to test please?

I think it happens by clicking refresh on the checkout page.

M

You might make sure you have shipping selected to you and not their hosting.  Hosting is much cheaper to ship to.
12992  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cant use my R9 290 To mine on: November 17, 2014, 05:35:26 PM
You're wasting your time if you try to mine with your GPU. As others have said, if you were trying to do this a few years ago, it would have made sense. Now, you'll be losing more money on electricity than generating coins. You're too late to the party, sadly. Tongue

For the most part true. I use mine to mine coins with low diff that I like and don't mine running my gpu rigs on it. this gets me coins that i want without spending my btc on them.

Even then it is inefficient.  Asics in straight scrypt make it where you have to use a different algo for GPU's.

Yes you were able to purchase it a while ago, but they sold out.    Since selling out a second batch has not been opened.

Hello,

I have a problem with one of my C1 antminers (I have 4 C1).

The problem is:

I turned on antminer and used 192.168.1.99 and next adjusted 192.168.1.91 to it and next I did mining for 1 hour. Next I turned it off and went out of home. When I came back I turned it on again but 192.168.1.91 and 192.168.1.99 is unknown and I can not access it's settings from IP. Also I was unable to reset it by holding reset button for 3s, because after 3s nothing is happens.

Power is on and antminer c1 fan is working. network lamp is on. But hashing boards lamps are off.
RED light lamp upper network socket is on.

Please tell me what is wrong with this C1 and how I can solve this problem?

My other C1 miners are working fine.

Can you see it mining from pool side? If so I would say it's IP is ok just different ip look at connected devices.

If all else goes wrong you could always use the image of the micro SD card i made and dogie uploaded.  With it you know what the IP is.  But first try to find it on current network.

Is there anyway to get compensation?  I am still waiting on RMA pumps from syscool and a power harness since other sets fires and burned 2 cards.  The scary thing about the pump is coolant leaks through power cable spot not cracks (It's one of the two I got that stopped working).
I do not think that they will send you something. Better to leave this  syscooling clown a nice  negative feedback.

I've sent three e-mail and no reply for almost two weeks. I am still waiting a 2x power harness andreplacement for  DOA  pump.

syscooling , If you happen to read this, then my orders numbers is
2014102895756
2014102308791
2014101947316
Of course we will send you someting.I didn't receive you email, and I will ask if anyone else have receive that.My email is mk@ysun.net,or you can send me an email with pictures about your pump or any other parts that you have problems.

How do you help a  images of  non-working pump? He looks the same as as my
other five-working pump , Only it did not work since of the arrival .
The first e-mail  been already sent 6. nov, 2014  to   ysun@ysun.net

Mr.notlist3d sent us pictures, and we have shipped new pumps and wiring harness for him.As for your pump,we will check the picture,if it stopped working because of quality problems,we surely will send you new ones for free. And for email, three addresses are available:  watercooling@ysun.net   mk@ysun.net    and      ysun@ysun.net   ,if send an emai to one of those but receive no response, you could send to the other two, anyone see it will reply.

Please don't use me as a example.  I have received ONE tracking number not TWO.  The one I have tracking for was shipped EMS (VERY Slow).  I am waiting on a manager to tell me if they will compensate.....

Please fix my problems before using me as a example.

2nd tracking NO has been sent, please check email.

Verified waiting on compensation answer now.

The first pump and wiring harness shipped on November 8,the second on November 12,and I have provided you the tracking NO,please be patient.

The tracking number I was provided was the same on both packages you said you sent.  I don't have a 2nd tracking number.

Are you willing to compensate for downtime?   Being patient is not as easy when each day I lose money.  With you using EMS it is very very slow.

If I buy one of these can I get a pump setup from elsewhere? Seems like the main issue with these is the syscooling stuff?

Yes, but they typically cost $70 or so to match the specs.

Dogie with being part of the team are you able to help me get compensation for both miners being down? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841344.msg9564010#msg9564010

I removed a few post's.  I'm not here to bash a company i just would like compensation for 2 down pumps and one harness that caught fire on 2 blades.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841344.msg9564010#msg9564010

Must have more creativity. Mine is running one pump with two miners and two radiators  with two self-made harness.

With I could. Both of original pumps are dead.   I ordered some on internet (Hope they are here Monday).    And also waiting on RMA from syscooling, but its EMS (Slow)

I have my molex to fan board for new harness, but waiting on the pumps I ordered from another company to get me by since EMS could be a while till I get it.
