It is just another coin with an advantage over POW coins.
Like any other it is speculation...and you hope it grows/increases over time.
The real advantage is that on top of that you get a proportionate return for your coins. Same as POW/mining but your coin (in a way) mines for you (not that easy or direct but boils down to it).

Worst case scenario, the company will be "sold" off-shore (outside China).

ARK...you need the wallet (not in exchange), vote and done. You will get proportionate gain from your delegate depending on schedule he proposes.
What's the rough amount you will earn? Say on 100 coins, how long would it take to generate 1 ARK? I want to get into a good POS or masternode coin so ARK is interesting. It depends on the delegate you voted on. Each delegate offers a different package to entice people to vote for them. The one I chose (assuming the ratio is same for less qty) will take 4 weeks to generate an ARK with 100 coins. I get about 4.36 coins a week.

1. I think China want to temporarily crash the market so they can collect more BTC (and other coins dirt cheap) before announcing that they are officially adopting. At that point BTC (and other crypto) will sky rocket.
2. They don't want their citizens to trade cryptocurrency and earn (relatively easily) in fear of losing their cheap labor force. They will then try to make it as difficult as possible for it to flourish in their country.
Which is it???

CLOAK (its getting crushed because it's not open source yet!)
I had my eyes on CLOAK, but its up today 18% Avoid buying "winners", rather look for the biggest losers among the "good" coins. Bargain or not, avoid the junk coins.

While eating breakfast, I was watching GDAX this morning and saw several trades at 2,800 level...I almost dove in myself but reading the charts...it looks like it hasn't bottomed out yet. As tempted as I am, I will continue and patiently wait......

So to clarify.... 1. I am not talking about exit from trading. Just to secure gains when goal for a coin is reached. It is hard since you always think maybe it will go higher then BAM! All the gains are gone. Anyone experienced that? 2. Taking refuge when I believe a major dive going to happen (like now). Keeping the alts converted to BTC is not as great since BTC also takes a dive. Sure it will rebound but there is a major opportunity lost in there that need to be exploited. I think selling BTC at GDAX is the best option for me...then re-purchase before the rebound. Converting to USDT/Tether is not a good idea IMHO, since you lose out a lot (more than most think) by "parking" your money there. I'd rather park it in real dollars than USDT.

I am having BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, GBYTE, and XMR. All of them are in deep red. BCH in particular has dropped by more than half. A large part of my holdings was in that currency. Anyway, I have now learnt the lesson. We need to do profit booking whenever the prices go high.
Something I need to do and learn as well. It is very tough since it is counter intuitive...cashing out when things are going great is like butchering the goose that lays the golden egg. I am struggling with this even though I know it is the right strategy. This is the reason I started the thread about EXIT strategy.

Catch 22 for me...I have no BTC available so I need to buy it first. Can't buy yet since I believe it will dip some more. By the time I get my hands on the the BTC, the sale are probably gone. I did some re-arranging on my holdings yesterday and bought NEO (for $13.82 ) among others. I wish I could have bought more though.

Yesterday out of 18 coins, it was ARK, DAR, GAS, EMC2, and XST for me.
Today it is only DAR, and GAS that remained green. I wonder for how long....

Thanks guys! It finally worked!
I was getting this message and it just started today.
"Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes."
I can't login for 2.5 hours.
The solving puzzle for robot control is normal, so is the new IP address re-login but this is the first for me.

It will get even more exciting if you began following altcoins which almost every time follow Bitcoin's suite of rising and dropping.
I actually deal mostly with alt coins.

No one? Please let me know if you also can't login or you can.
I appreciate it. Thanks.

I am new to cryptocurrency and it's been a very interesting 3 months. The Segwit2X, BTC fork and the thrill of up or down with BTC price was the first. Then it was all "sunny" for a month or so and I even I enjoyed a 250% gain for a while. Then the Chinese ICO debacle came and still here. Today, I am barely even LOL I know many "hardened" folks will say it is nothing compared to the dips they went through. True this may be nothing but a scratch but I've learned several things in the process. To which I am thankful since I only have a few BTC in for now. These "challenges" are (honestly) bitter-sweet. Looking at a low balance is a downer but at the same time I see these "dips" as opportunities and I do take advantage of them. Anyway, crypto sure added spice in my life.

Go with Ark, it's new and cheap and will surely grow with it's implementation. Omisego still have potential but its already high.
I'd sell your ark, don't see it as having a chance long term Not many coins can boast consistent and steady growth resulting to 274% gain the past month.

Like the 1st poster said, if I can (if funds are available) I try to take advantage of the "sale" and buy more.
If that is not an option...I treat it as any ordinary day which is sell what gained the most (or in this case the one that lost the least) and buy the ones that lost the most IF it is worth the trouble. It is plain flipping.
Note that I factor how much I trust the (future of the) coin when making this decision as well.
Otherwise, just HODL.
In a day, do you factor in a percentage to target? Or in a transaction even, Is there a percentage difference you have set or consider to make it worthwhile going into a deal? Yes. As I said, depends on whether it is worth it -- I normally don't trade for less than 10% gain. Only reason I would sell lower is if I want/need to dump the coin. Usually to move the money to something better.
