1301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the popping miningbubble cause price to collapse? on: January 21, 2015, 02:19:54 AM
the other way is more likely, in my opinion(prices down creating a mining bubble)

mining is not that unprofitable if you already have mining stuff

1304  Economy / Speculation / Re: 45 on: January 21, 2015, 01:57:23 AM
I can't image the mess if we start to speculate about the tops and bottoms of BTC in our dreams.  Smiley

Isn't the BTC volatily already high enough in real life?  Tongue

prices pretty stable last days.

People get addicted to price swings and when they don't happen in real life they dream with them
1305  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: January 21, 2015, 01:49:15 AM
I still never got a chance to try this game.  I remember reading the rules and feeling confused and then there was this weird thing about bits vs bitcoin which confused me further...
1 bit is 100 Satoshi's. It's a unit of measurement just like mBTC. The game itself is relatively easy, get out before the game crashes. Grin

why they use bits?

It is the only place I know that actively uses the term bits as a unit of measurement.

1308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 21, 2015, 01:22:04 AM
Price doesn't matter .... unless it advances. In which case it changes everything.  Smiley

What's up with the facuet timer? Haven't logged in for quite some time, and it said he still had about 130 seconds to go. Tried 5 minutes later, said it had 120 seconds to go...

1313  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably fair, correct me if I'm wrong on: January 21, 2015, 12:52:24 AM
Many bitcoin gambling sites state that they are provable fair.
Let's assume they are.

But what if they bet on their own game many many times, wouldn't they increase their profit by doing so?
If they create the highest betting volume, they have a higher stake in the whole game.

Do I miss something?

they have house edge, so I guess they would not win.

Even if they do, they would have to pay from their own bankroll, so no advantage at all

Guess you meant something else
