1301  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: July 29, 2023, 08:24:21 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?
If you find yourself with casinos that operates in such a debauchery manner with their ToS that's a red flag sign for you the gambler to abandon such online casinos site and look for a well reputable online casino. If you've got some cash in there find ways to withdraw it ASAP cause it's not only wrong for them to change ToS without prior notification to their clients but it's a subtle scheme of defrauding their customers.

A lot of these online casinos that behave this way often come into the market with outrageous bonuses just to attract more users to later trap them with obnoxious ToS unknown to users.

1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: July 29, 2023, 03:54:09 PM
As children their way of thinking is not same with those of adults, putting a reward for every time they watch the bitcoin cartoon clips don't you think the children mentality in them may out their focus on the (candy) reward. For while they're viewing the cartoon their mind is on the reward just waiting for the cartoon clip to end let them take their reward especially when it doesn't interest them to watch it but because you have coerce them to with an attached reward.

With my personal experience I have had with my uncle kids while watching educative cartoon clips with them. Before we go on with it I'll tell them all that I'll ask many questions about all the things that were said and showcased in the cartoon clip and for each person that gives me answers to my questions would have a reward.

Now what's the difference between mine and that of op.
In mine the children would definitely not put mind on the reward they are told to get but rather would focus all attention on the clip to make sure they learn something in each step of the way as the movie clip plays knowing fully well that no answer no reward.

But for OP wether they understand, answer or asked him questions or not they still get their reward eactd time after they finish watching the cartoon clip. So OP much results or nothing at all may not be achieved with the kids doing it that way.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: July 29, 2023, 03:10:57 PM
Despite how I imagined this to be fictional story I'll try to give the best advise I will give if it were a real live event.
20 years old by constitution isn't a boy anymore but a man and is old enough to speaking and taking decisions for himself. The parents are not strict that they want to remain poor for life so the boy should go ahead and inform them of his fortune, they are allowed to get angry anyway but they will definitely look at the bigger picture of what such amount of money $46k  can do in their life tremendously.

But if the parent rescinded and ask him to return the money, then the young got to think twice that he's got a future ahead of him and such amount of money well invested in his future he's made for life.
To those that don't know, let it be known that gambling money isn't an illicit money because your religion condemns it doesn't make it an evil money, there are things/actions that religious fanatics exhibit that their religion doesn't condemn it but by human moral standard those actions are far worse than partaking in gambling.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 28, 2023, 08:59:39 PM
I knew that there's many topic like this in the past that asking advice about loaning for gambling. The intention of this thread is determined what's the actual feeling when you are using a loan money on gambling knowing that there's an interest rate on your borrowed money which means you already lose part of your money before you start gambling..
You can take a loan to start up a business, sponsor a project but not for gambling, I repeat not for gambling it's wreckless, stupid and a broad lane to indebtedness.

Gambling is not 100% sure that a win will be made and for something that's with no hundred percent assurance there should be a limit to certain risks we take towards it especially that of taking loan money for gambling purpose.

For anyone to take loan money just to use it to gamble then it's a conspicuous sign of gambling addiction.
1306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Mobile App for Bitcointalk forum??? on: July 28, 2023, 08:50:00 PM
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this or not, but if they have, wouldn't hurt to bring it up again right?
@op it seems you aren't comfortable with the status quo, can you please explain to us why you are not okay with the web browser in just a short period in the forum?  What benefits can we get from using an app that we are not getting using the web to access the forum which for me is seamless and less stressful as I don't have to be going through app upgrades constantly which many of us won't be fine with that.

Yes some persons has mentioned same and that's why it hurts having you brought up same topic over again. Thank you  @ever-young  for making available those thread links above op needs to see to them to understand that the idea of an app for the forum doesn't count looking at the polls from those threads.
1307  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 28, 2023, 12:06:01 PM
The rich and wealthy gamble too in their good number but we can't compare it to the lower class because the number of those in the upper class are very few. A lot has been said about the difference in number between the rich and poor in gamble, but I'll like to add that despite how majority of the poor class are into gambling it is the rich that are reaping we'll from gambling because they are like the whales in the market, they can afford a high betting power (amount) with little less risky odds that gives them leverage to easily win unlike the lower class with  a small amount to bet with accumulative odds just to increase their potential win. The rich don't need to accumulate the odds they only increase their stake power, simple.

1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: July 27, 2023, 05:35:08 PM
People don't have statistics to play gamble and that is why some of the gambling enthusiasm do experience (shege in gambling... meaning much loses in a gambling) so it's good for gamblers to know a specific amount that should go out in their wallet weekly or monthly.

When you check the statistics of who is on constant gambling of different kind of gambling either casino, poker game and other gambling games, should check the funds that goes out of them monthly because of gambling and they funds they received in a month and annually in gambling if they are of the same amount.

No need of putting up with such disturbance of checking your losses. I call it disturbance because it would do you no good than harm thinking of money you can't take back so there's no need. What should rather be done is to minimize the way we gambling when we observe we are having constant losses than we are winning.ans constant losses means constant money leaving our hands that's bad business.
1310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To the Ill-informed, btc has done more harm than good on: July 27, 2023, 02:56:53 PM

All we can do is keep calm and move on. Sooner or later more and more will see what is wrong and what is right. I don't have a better solution than doing... what we already do.
It can be frustrating when misinformation propagated by mass media and accepted by many people even when we provide them evidences and facts but we can't force them to change their ingrained beliefs all of a sudden which is only possible via gradual progression. More we promote the rational thinking the people will be able to differentiate between the facts and misinformation.
.
Those with conservative mentality and lacking a broad mind are the people that been eluded by these misinformation that's wavering around about bitcoin. They don't want to try new things and for people like that any information that's against whatever thing they are conservative about it's easy receptive and ingested. No drumming of any kind about bitcoin can make them see reasons to try things for themselves and experience the difference.

For we that have broad mind and are experiencing the innovation for ourselves, underneath we can testify of the benefits so we should forge ahead and forget about who rejects or misinterpreting bitcoin wrongly, bitcoin isn't meant for everybody despite the mission of mass adoption so for those that have gotten and understands how it works make good use of it now the crowd is not much so when by the time the crowd eventually come all out of the dark about it we will be at the top far ahead while they chase after our level which can't be possible for them to catch up..... That's where the statement of had I known erupts.
1311  Economy / Economics / Re: Building a prosperous business on: July 27, 2023, 02:21:47 PM
Starting a business may seems easy but this come with alot of challenges which includes the ability to survive after being established.

Some people just start a business because they want to have a business.

This isn't enough point to start a business because a business based on this may collapse with time. When starting a business, you must put in mind that you want to solve a problem. It may be community, country or world problem. This various company have been in existence to solve various issues among people..
When you claim to start a business without been curious about real service delivery about the area of business you want to venture in then it's natural with time you will fade away as you face the  competitive business environment having no uniqueness about your service.

A real life example is about a store across the street opposite the very building I live in. Several peoples have rented this very shop for different business purposes but either pack out within 6 months or a year after just renting. Oh business isn't moving as I expected were some of the complains that follow.

The real problem behind all these complaints could be that they just decided to jump into a particular business cause they found out someone somewhere is making so much profit from, it's not a business they had passion for, but just for the profit chase and a little challenge with profit they disappear. Same is happening to so many businesses out there.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 27, 2023, 01:52:53 PM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling

If there was anything life was so boring and solitary in this 21Century then it would definitely be within the period of the covid-19 pandemic and that was when the number of gamblers increased as people seek for means and ways of catching fun while making money at same time and I happened to find myself among those that took to online gambling within that period and till now there's no turning back despite several losses and a few non-commensurable wins. In all I made sure to discipline myself not to be carried away with addiction and cutting my bet expense at a percentage per week my pocket can't feel even if I loss it all. That's how a good gambler should do.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 27, 2023, 01:41:33 PM
The Super Falcons will go head to head against Australia in today's fixture and we're expecting to see a different ball game from the Falcons after getting a draw in their last game against Canada. In today's game the Australian team won't stand a chance against the Falcons, with the Australian team having injury issues, is going to be a huge disadvantage for them (Australia female team). No matter the odds which is against the Falcons with Australia as the favorite in winning this game, I feel the Super Falcons are getting all 3pts to be second on the log.
Nigeria needs a win or at least a draw so that there is still a chance to qualify from the group phase because losing to Australia means they are eliminated because in the third match, Canada only needs a draw against Australia. However, winning the match against Australia is not an easy job for Nigeria because the team they are facing is one of the strongest in the group and is also quite the favorite to win the World Cup this time because the host factor will give them an advantage because it is fully supported by the spectators who attend the stadium..
Contrary to your placement of the super falcons they didn't just win but humiliated the Australian women with a 3:2 victory. A second half that was so perfected by the third sealing goal of the Nigerian forward Oshoala Asisat in the 72minutes of play. No doubt Australia women are one of the favourite forecast to win the 2023 wwc but the performance of the Nigerian women today is sending a different message at a moment they were underrated by fan around the world they decided to shock the world. Now their chances of qualifying to the round of 16 is feasible. Australia 2 v Nigeira 3.....FT
1314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: July 26, 2023, 11:30:32 PM
The idea of the forum was mainly to share our knowledge with others about bitcoin and for general knowledge. A community of great minds discussing about daily riveting issues within our environment. And by extension basically promoting the idea of bitcoin through classical resolution to questions that arises in the process.
But the additional aspect of members  earning through the forum is nothing but an addied  privilege to forum members.
1315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: July 26, 2023, 10:42:57 PM
Gambling places are not for steady income, if you want steady income with gambling, online or offline, you have to be a owner, build your own casino and watch yourself growing up into a filthy rich billionaire.

Online casinos are places where it's certain that you will lose your money, it's a place where you need to be mentality sane to at least have a good ride and experience as you progress, it's not always about making money with gambling, it's always about not ending up running insane because of gambling.
Just like the saying' if you wanna have the bread so badly enough then own the bakery and you will have it to your fill. Same way with gambling you can't win the amount of money you desire to stay wealthy by being an ardent gambler buy by owning a single casino you can make in a year money you could never make 10 years  gambling.  In ones bid to make so much money trying to employ different strategies to win the casino you will indirectly turn to the source of income to the casino house because you will be losing more than winning.

A lot of us gamblers do not depend on our experience in gambling over the year to be able to get a win cause many times as I can recall some of the major wins I have gotten were out of luck and not mainly by experience of over the years.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 26, 2023, 08:03:34 PM
What other pattern of gambling can more favourable and appealing to offering me 5BTC so stop gambling for life. The bitter truth that majority of us gamble for the money not fun and if we are wealthy enough we will never accept gambling as an option to make money when we can invest in numerous projects that can fetch us profit that's not based predominantly on luck like gambling. So OP, YES I will take the 5BTC and gladly walk away from anything related to gambling. I can get fun from other pleasurable activities with my money.
1317  Economy / Gambling / Re: what are the best crypto casinos! on: July 26, 2023, 07:38:11 PM
I'm just wondering why it must be only 4 casinos when there are a lot trusted casinos in this forum. However each gambler has their own preference to pick the best casino and it's differ from one to another. Someone may not like KYC, so they will not gamble in most of casinos including the 4 casinos you mentioned above. Someone may not like inactive representative, so they will not gamble in bitsler.
There's no need to wonder, it is his own opinion which is subjective and anyone can make his own picks and you will find out that not one out of the four casinos picked by op might be in there too.
Going further, It just exactly as you said my preference to kyc can make me pick casinos you rarely hear about buy because they meet my criteria and needs they become the best for me. Some gambler prefer gambling sites that houses both casinos games and sports betting together and they can solicit that those are the best gambling sites compared.
1318  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: July 26, 2023, 03:47:50 PM
Obviously, however we are not really talking about those games but games in which the skill of the player can overcome the odds given by the casino with skillful play, now computers are already better than humans playing poker, however this is a fair game in which all the players on average receive the same cards, however in theory it is possible to develop an AI which can beat the casinos in a game like sports bets, as there are already humans that can do so already and developing an AI with that level of skill should be possible.
^ I got your point which it is evident that some games can be skill-based and that computers have already surpassed human abilities in certain games like poker. However, the focus here is on games where player skill can tilt the odds in their favor against the casino. While poker is a fair game with equal card distribution, the possibility of developing an AI capable of outperforming casinos in games like sports betting is feasible. Human bettors have already demonstrated this skill, and creating an AI with such capabilities should be possible.
@doublehunter did you  also thought about the other aspect too, don't you think the casino house would also go ahead to create a counter mechanism that should put them in the advantage too to beat the player skill and AI capability to outperform. Don't forget that this is business and the casino houses are also investing into research to develop strategies they could use to minimize players wins and maximize profits too. IMO introducing AI gambling will trigger a constant struggling between the gambling house and AI users.
1319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A neighbor next door on: July 26, 2023, 03:30:29 PM
If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

What will you do if something like this is happening around you?
Op the first question that will come to mind if I had to be in your position on this situation is "what will Satoshi do in such circumstance? Will he go ahead succumbed into bringing drug dealers to bitcoin ?  Obvious the answers to these questions of mine is NO. Bitcoin white paper by Satoshi explains it all the real intend of the establishment of bitcoin and not some subway to laundering ill-gotten monies.

Quote
Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?
This is one of many excuses the government's are using to backup their arguments why they had to restrict or ban the use of bitcoin in their countries. Claiming it's an easy means to starch and launder money by criminals so therefore we shouldn't give the centralized system a loophole to prove their claims by virtue of we going ahead to teach criminals how to use bitcoin. The currency was created for illegal use.
OP he can go and learn from somewhere else but let it not come from you.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Other Things You Can Bet on Aside Sports and Casino Games on: July 26, 2023, 01:59:46 AM
We love our gambling for several reasons. Some of us do it for fun and entertainment, some do it for the money, and some do it for both the money and entertainment. Outside of sports betting and online casino games, did you know that there are other things you can bet on?

13 - The End of the World: As crazy as it may sound, there is an online betting site for this. People predict when the world would end. Don't know if they will be around for the prize money if they eventually win.
Is this some kind of a joke Grin... Just couldn't hold it but burst into laughter reading this very one cause on a very serious note  it does really sound weird. I can literally gambling about anything but not gambling on something I won't be alive to get my winning prize. For what's the essence of making the bet?

Come to think of it even if the world doesn't end lets say next 200 years would they still be alive by then to follow up their bet or is tt that people don't know what to bet on anymore or am I the only one thinking that such bettors needs an urgent mental attention.
