1301  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: May 17, 2023, 04:49:51 PM
Investing addiction could be possible, there are people who neglect their basic needs and other financial needs in order to invest more money to their chosen investment. And i think this kind of addiction  is dangerous if it leads to a person neglecting their basic needs, such as good food, clothing and other important expenses. Neglecting these needs can have a negative impact on a person's physical and mental health.
I'm never really sure you'll find one of those, even if it does, then I think the 1 in 1000 chance is still too low to be said to be the number of occurrences. It makes no sense to get someone to invest aggressively like that, it's too extreme to do even if they are confident about the potential return over a certain time frame.

In fact, meeting the needs for clothing, food and shelter is necessary instead of prioritizing investment plans and interests. The most valuable health instead of the value of the investment. The stomach needs food to supply nutrients throughout the body, the brain needs refreshing and the body needs a comfortable place to live so that all of that becomes a priority.

And one more thing, maybe what makes many people believe that Man City will indeed be in leg 2 is in the history of the meeting between Real Madrid vs Man City. It turns out that Real Madrid has never won a match when competing at the Etihad and Carlo Ancelotti has also never won when he came to Etihad.
OK, I know it's history, but I wish things would be different today.
Ancelotti is very confident to win the second leg against Manchester City, so am I. But even if that's fair then I think Manchester City is a candidate who really counts today to win. I don't just hope that the players' confidence and experience are of use, but that they have to really do their best to qualify for the finals.

I know Manchester City were absolute favorites to win at home but somehow Real Madrid came in to win the match and go final. This match will be very tense, but I hope that no player gets sent off during the match.
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 17, 2023, 03:49:00 PM
Their basis is, Man City's perfect performance with Haaland. Man City are really changing, they have a better game than last season. They have a chance of qualifying because they play at the Etihad. Although all is not a guarantee, Man City will get away with it easily. My hope is of course that Real Madrid will qualify because I am their supporter. But I understand Real Madrid are under pressure after the draw at the Bernabeu. They need to win if they want to qualify for the final.
Stay optimistic, mate. I still hope that Real Madrid can beat Manchester City perfectly. Even though we know that Manchester City are favored when playing at home, there are several factors that we might be able to take advantage of.

I think Manchester City's busy schedule will cost them a lot. Pep Guardiola has hinted that his players are very tired because they didn't have much time to rest after last weekend's match. That is inversely proportional to the condition and fitness of the Real Madrid players, I mean Benzema and several other players have had enough rest and did not play the match against Getafe. This is one of them, but still Manchester City are a strong team.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 16, 2023, 05:17:31 PM
Inter, who won the match a week ago, will be the more comfortable team at home.Milan has come this far well and has been paired with their league rival Inter in the semifinals. We can say that both teams played well in the first match, but Inter, who scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes, won the match. The goal in the early minutes will have demoralized Milan, as there were no goals in the match after that.Today Inter hosts Milan.Milan has a chance to go through, but it is not easy.I don't expect Inter to be defeated and I think they will pass the round.
Yes, everyone believed Inter would step into the Champions League final this season after they won the first leg. But I expect Milan to return in today's second leg, at least to force Inter to play to the last point. I expect the teams that qualify for the final to be decided on penalties, but I'm not sure such a scenario has a high chance of a derby match.

Forcing the match into extra time was a success for Milan regardless of who would qualify for the final. If that scenario happens, then I think Milan has done enough this season in terms of his struggles.

what a season it has been for Newcastle! It's right to say that nobody saw this coming - they've really exceeded expectations and are now firmly in the top three. Their performance this season has been absolutely fantastic and it's only fair to give them credit.
Newcastle have truly gone above and have certainly outperformed themselves this season. Their determination to make it into the top four by anyhow and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up playing in the UCL next season. They have a great opportunity to continue their upward position if any of the current top teams experience a dip in performance.
It's been an amazing season for Newcastle, of course but they have a tough task before the end of the season. Maintaining the consistency of performance and winning all the remaining matches is a tough task, this is evident from the last 2 matches they failed to win.

I respect to Newcastle especially this season, but they still have to fight until the last game to qualify for the Champions League. Liverpool are still a threat to Newcastle's chances especially as Eddie Howe's side will have had tough match some late season match. I mean Brighton, Leicester and Chelsea are worth opponents, so don't be underestimated.

Another backup alternative for Electrum is exporting the Private Keys for each wallet address.
A little extra, and keep that backup file somewhere safe.

I do such an added security method instead of just saving the seed, but only for the wallet I use (specific address) so it certainly won't be too much of a hassle to do so. They don't need to do it for all addresses, so only do it for the addresses in use.

I understand that I may mess up this plan in the future when one or two cash flows from multiple sources suddenly dry up. However, I have learned many things from the experiences of the people around me, including maybe some of your experiences in managing finances. This management sometimes won't go according to what we plan, but trying to avoid mistakes in the sense of managing it properly must be attempted.
So, yes.. I would not consider the likelihood that some mistakes are going to be made along the way to be deal-breakers because hopefully, you can just deal with the mistake or the ramifications of the mistake(s) once it (they) happen, yet there still is quite a bit of value in terms of trying to figure out how likely are certain mistakes to happen, and then how big would be the ramifications for each of the mistakes, because there could be ways to at least mitigate how likely it would be that the mistakes would happen and to even make it pretty unlikely that the mistakes would completely destroy you or even that that maybe you might have some mistakes that you would consider to be severe.. but they would ONLY end up dipping into your principle by 10% or 20% rather than some mistakes could end up having something like 70% to 90% dipping into your principle, so even though you may be willing to suffer some unlikely damages, it would be prudent and practical to be able to attempt to recognize the difference in the magnitude and likelihood because sometimes people engage in behavior that has decent chances of producing a 70% to 90% reckening and maybe they are calculating it as if it were only less than a 10% reckening if it were to happen... - including that frequently there are periods in the building of investments and/or principle that can take years and years and years to establish, so if you reck yourself by 70% to 90%, it's not like you can just bounce back in a period of time that is significantly shorter than how long it took you the first time, and in some cases, it is almost impossible to build the same principle at later dates because the costs have changed....
I feel obliged to recognize and understand what are the potential errors or failures so that we can minimize them properly. I realized that we can only plan everything and try to arrange it as best we can, but because I am a follower of a religion, I also have to have enough faith in things called fate or God's will. A natural disaster for example, pandemic or a larger war could blindly ruin this plan, so something like that is totally unexpected even if we have managed the plan as best we can.

Maybe we've talked too far about these plans and how to go about it, but I hope we haven't completely ignored that bitcoin is still in good reach to buy. Buy on a dip and hold would still be an option I would consider regardless of a cash reserve plan for an emergency fund, it would have to vary with the investment budget I have.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 15, 2023, 06:18:08 PM
Of course we are all expected to side Liverpool in a match like this.  Liverpool indeed seems favourite but one thing is that the season is already in it's limit point and anything surprising is bound to happen. From an early view, Tottenham was the favorite team to win in their clash against Leicester City but a complete reverse occurred and Tottenham ended up losing 4 goals to Leicester. Liecesterhasnt won in their last 3 matches and Will be playing home in this match. I know Liverpool is strongly anticipating overthrowing Manchester United,  but I can not bet boldly on Liverpool to win this match.
Leicester are not a tough opponent, but they still have big plans to win the game and get out of the relegation zone. Liverpool's performance which is doing well will sink Leicester's mission, but I think underestimating Leicester and their ambition is a bad thing.

I don't expect much bad to happen to Manchester United in the next few games, but I might be happy if Liverpool can finally return to the Champions League next season. Winning against Leicester today will put Manchester United under pressure, but I don't think they will be too troubled against Bournemouth this weekend.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: May 15, 2023, 05:46:18 PM
I also thought too if arsenal  does not  win Europa league,  Manchester United will win it but this two  Premier league teams failed to be consistent in  their games.  I can see Sevilla have been targeting Europa league championship and they are really working towards it to achieve it.
I also see Sevilla as a candidate who can win the Europa League this season, but actually this cannot be decided unilaterally. Because Juventus and Roma also still have the same chance for that so this is still difficult to predict now. Roma and Juventus will also make improvements to their game in the second leg later because considering the result of the match in the second leg is decisive for them to advance to the Europa League final this season.
The four surviving teams are candidates to win the Europa League Trophy, they still have the same chance before the second leg starts including Leverkusen who lost to Roma in the first leg. Of the four remaining teams, Sevilla is the most surprising team. Their performance in La Liga was not as expected, but in the Europa League they were able to provide competition with a different appearance. The second leg will be played at Sevilla headquarters, the last victory over Valladolid is a good capital to finish the match with a victory.

While Mourinho has prepared his team ahead of the second leg at Leverkusen headquarters, Mourinho has chosen to rest several important players in the last game Roma played in Serie A so they can perform optimally at Leverkusen headquarters. Roma only need a draw to advance to the final. Mourinho experience has been in several important matches while coaching other teams, he prefers to adopt a total defensive strategy to reduce attacks from the opposing team.

In the second leg, Sevilla benefited from playing in front of their supporters, while Roma had a 1-0 victory in the first leg. In general, Sevilla and Roma have the opportunity to qualify for the final round, but Juventus and Leverkusen also don't want their fate to end in the semifinals. The second leg will be more interesting than the first leg because all the teams have the same goal, they will give their best performance to be the best on the Europa League stage this season.
I'm sure Sevilla and Roma will both advance to the Europa League final this season. I didn't expect the two Serie A teams to meet in the final. The two candidates from the domestic league should have clashed in the final this season.

Sevilla is the most favorite team in the second leg which will be played at their home. I'm not underestimating Juventus, but Sevilla have a good record that needs to be considered before deciding who deserves to be favourites. Sevilla's form is good, Juventus is also good in the last match. If two La Liga teams reach the European final this season, then of course it is proof that Spain still dominates Europe.

So far I haven't been very strict about setting aside an emergency fund and I can tell you it's pretty flexible from one month to another. I mean, the amount can vary as the needs that I have to fulfill each month increase or not. But of course I wish I could put it aside every month as long as I have my salary paid out at the beginning of the month even if it's only a few percent of the amount I've managed to save. Part of it I think is good for investment, and part of it as an emergency fund.

You do not need to be adding to your "cash reserves" or your "emergency fund" every month once you get to a kind of sustainable level.  I recall at one point in my life when I was single (no business and no family) that I had a monthly cashflow cushion of $500 (which just meant that the lowest point that the checking account balance projection would ever get would be $500)... but that did not account for other places in which I might have to draw if my income dried up or my expenses increased.  When I added a business then I had to increase that $500 amount to $1,500 and there were times that I went up higher and down lower, and sometimes when I would lower it too much then I would see that I was getting into "pickles" too frequently, so I would raise it order to lessen my chances of getting into "pickles.".. so cash cushion is one thing and then how much in reserves is another thing - and if you are having to dip into your reserves frequently, and if you are always (or frequently) into the practice of engaging in replenishing it, then it may well be a sign that it is NOT high enough.. or something is wrong with your balancing of factors, your life style or maybe just the various ways of your income are really inconsistent or your expenses are "all over the place.".. it might also be a sign that you are overly investing into BTC (or whatever other investments that you might have) .

I would imagine that it would be preferable to get to a position in which you are not bouncing around a lot (sure some bouncing is probably not a bad sign in terms of needing to be somewhat aggressive and not overly whimpy in terms of how much you are investing into risky assets - such as bitcoin), and so it is not necessarily easy to strike something close to a balance - and the ultimate goal would be that you are choosing how much to invest into bitcoin based on "extra" cashflow that comes from income and/or fewer expenses, rather than every month struggling to replenish your emergency funds that are already overly depleted... and of course, those are judgement calls in which you have to figure out your own proper, appropriate and comfortable balancing.

Children need a lot of things and expenses will increase along they grow up. Just a few days ago my emergency fund had to be reduced due to a need that I can say is urgent, but I have to be grateful it doesn't exceed 10% of the total cash I have as an emergency fund. As I said before, I'm pretty flexible about this plan, and probably won't always oblige myself to consistency on the plan.
1311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: May 15, 2023, 04:52:24 PM
Bitcoin price will definitely move towards higher levels as we assume Bitcoin halving starts every four years.
The impact of the halving on the bitcoin price is something that may repeat itself in a 4 year cycle. I agree halving can affect the price significantly as they have happened in previous halving cycles. The price up as demand increases and it has been a profitable for miners although the block reward has been lower from each halving.

Bad effects may have occurred on the network had the bitcoin price not gone higher after the halving. Obviously higher mining costs will force miners to exit first because mining revenue and consumption costs are not balanced, so this will definitely hurt the bitcoin network which might make its network security down. Due to some of these things, bitcoin is expected to go higher after the halving so that miners will survive which in itself will make the bitcoin network stronger from a 51% chance of attack.
1312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 14, 2023, 03:01:00 PM
My guess is anyone who has an investment in bitcoin without having an emergency fund in fiat, then sooner or later they will sell their bitcoin. At least 20% - 40% of the total investment budget must be saved as an emergency fund, this will definitely help them if an emergency occurs.

I am not sure if there is a need to set aside any kind of specific amount (on a regular basis) in order to maintain your emergency fund, yet there are a variety of ways to assess whether your emergency fund is enough, including some kinds of considerations that if your cashflow were to dry up for six months could you still survive?
So far I haven't been very strict about setting aside an emergency fund and I can tell you it's pretty flexible from one month to another. I mean, the amount can vary as the needs that I have to fulfill each month increase or not. But of course I wish I could put it aside every month as long as I have my salary paid out at the beginning of the month even if it's only a few percent of the amount I've managed to save. Part of it I think is good for investment, and part of it as an emergency fund.

My cash flow has been good because I have a salary based job. I'm thankful that bitcointalk gives me an additional source of income even though it won't be mine forever. As long as I can manage it properly and don't interfere with each other between expenses, investments and emergency funds then I will do it. But in advance, sorry for the slow response.

Ultimately we are in charge of exercising our own judgements, including needing to take responsibility if we screw things up, and whether or not others are hurt from our mismanagement of our finances is part of the process of taking responsibility, hopefully learning along the way and hopefully improving our practices along the way.
Yes, we are responsible for all the risky or possibly profitable decisions we make. It's just that we always hope that it will only lead us to always be on the good side financially without forgetting the risks in the practice.

Even though it's a crucial game for Manchester City, I don't want them to beat Everton. However, if Arsenal wins today, I think it will seriously help and boost the morale of the players. At the very least, they will have high hopes of winning the Premier League. And now that Manchester City has scored, I'm hoping that Everton will equalize. and now that Manchester City has scored their second goal, I no longer believe there is any chance for Everton to win because I see additional goals.  Grin Manchester City simply has a unique method for degrading opponents. first half and they have two goals already. second Everton should expect more attacks and more goals.
As we have seen together, it is too difficult for Everton to stop Manchester City in their race to win the Premier League title this season. Everton may have slowed the game tempo as long as Manchester City haven't found a goal, but there was absolutely no point when Gundogan and Haaland both found goals in the first half.

You couldn't expect Everton to equalize if Manchester City didn't reduce the intensity of their attacks in the second half. The advantage of 2 goals will make it easier for Manchester City to control the course of the match which will probably maintain that advantage until the match ends. Everton are too weak to expected for even though they plan this game as difficult as possible for the away team.

Many were disappointed with AC Milan's performance in the first leg, yes, they seemed to have lost motivation in the game so defeat was inevitable. In the second leg they will play an away match, and they have to chase 2 goals to equalize first. 2 goals is not an easy thing for them to score in a competitive match like this with Inter Milan's motivation and opportunities being bigger, because they only need to get a draw to become one of the clubs competing in the final.

AC Milan will have to implement a change in strategy in the second leg later if they want to open up their chances. They have to be able to score goals quickly, which is not easy, but with hard work and with a little luck they will be able to do it.
I am also disappointed with the final result of the first leg of the semi-final between Milan vs Inter. I didn't expect Milan to lose 0-2 on aggregate to Inter because basically I expected Milan to impress. But after all, Inter are a team that is also good at winning so their victory was well deserved for the same purpose.

Milan could still force Inter to lose 0-2 in the second leg and the match entered extra time. I was sure about that scenario if Milan really pressed from the start and scored an early goal in the first half. But still, Inter are a team that might be hard to stop after they went 2-0 on aggregate, meaning they will fight their way through to the final without too many problems.

Didn't expect Nottingham to be above the relegation zone and be able to draw with Chelsea... Chelsea are really bad... With a game like that, they could end up in the relegation zone next season too... What is surprising is that they have a lot of good players in the team and such terrible results... Villa, on the other hand, have pleasantly surprised this season... They now have the same points as Spurs and have a chance of qualifying for the Conference League next season...
Chelsea are too bad at finishing even though they had some good chances compared to Nottingham. Sterling scored 2 goals, but in the end Chelsea could do little to prevent a 2-2 draw at home. This was yet another match that proved Lampard is not a coach who can help Chelsea out of their poor form this season so I don't think he has had much of an impact.

The next match is against Manchester City, so I think Chelsea's chances of winning are just very tough. There isn't much hope for Chelsea this season other than just trying to stay in the Premier League and not get relegated, and that's what they've been trying to do.

@LordShanken do you not understand football or what's happen on with you?

This is La Liga, man, not another competition that allowed Real Madrid to come back after 14 points behind Barcelona only in the next 5 matches. There are no knockout stages in the La Liga format, the format is all about how many points you can collect in 38 match to win the title, qualify for the Champions League, qualify for the Europa League, stay for another season or you will be relegated.
1318  Economy / Economics / Re: Concers About Going in Business with a Friend on: May 12, 2023, 05:12:02 PM
Money can indeed be the thing that makes us lose everything including close friends and even family relationships, humans will become greedy because they are tempted to live in luxury and no longer care about the value of friendship, but the interesting thing about this story is why it's too easy for friends to take all assets and there is no control from the owner.
Your question will be answered by how financial management is carried out between the two people. You may have to trust your partner in the same business and build it together since you both have a share in the business fund. So it's natural for both of them to have access to a business account or budget, and that allows for the case above.

Businesses that are built by collaborating together in management will generally be divided when one of them is too selfish in managing finances. I have seen many examples around me where in the end the two collaborators were separated to have their own business and even compete with each other. But of course, not all of them will be like that because there are also businesses that really thrive because of good cooperation.

I personally would also favor Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. But even so, I'm also not really sure about the superiority of Manchester City, which will host the second leg later. Because Real Madrid does have a different mentality from other teams. They will literally fight to the last second. Even last season Manchester City had to swallow a very bitter defeat because Real Madrid managed to turn things around in the last minutes in the second leg of last season's semi-finals.

But I really hope that at least for this season I want to see Manchester City finally able to stand in the final round and lift the trophy for the first time. Because there have been too many hard struggles for them to run aground in the middle of the road. This season even I see Manchester City have a better level of play than last season.
Don't just rely on the mentality and experience that Real Madrid have in the Champions League when they meet a team like Manchester City. I'm afraid Real Madrid will really lose at the Etihad if Manchester City play like the first leg at the Bernabeu. They are not an easy team to beat like Chelsea and Liverpool, but the quality of Mancester City is very different.

Real Madrid really relied on Thibaut Courtois' good performance to save the net from conceding many goals in the first leg. I know Real Madrid defenders are good at anticipating attacks, but without Thibaut Courtois' brilliance I think we could have conceded more than 2 goals in the first leg. Ancelotti has some of homework for the second leg, so I think it's true that Real Madrid may not be favourites, but I hope the result is different.

If the Barcelona team cannot secure the La Liga title then the team seems to be in serious financial trouble. Because Barcelona could not secure any other league title for the past few seasons. So if they fail to secure the La Liga title after performing so well, the team will be in a bit of trouble indeed.
Barcelona has almost confirmed the title this season, they are just waiting for the time to celebrate.
look at the current La Liga standings, why should you doubt Barcelona can win the title this season, they are already very far ahead in points.
Barcelona only need 3 points to secure the title this season and celebrate even though La Liga is not over yet. There is no doubt about the odds at all with 99.99% already owned by Barcelona but if someone is still in doubt then maybe they just want to bet with 0.01 odds.

Expecting Barcelona to fail to win the La Liga title this season after winning so many points over Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is something that might be ridiculous, even I myself never expected it even though I am a supporter of Real Madrid. There is no miracle for Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid this season to win the La Liga title, so forget about that.
