Next updates:
- Update ANN: fixed exchanges, wallet downloads, bootstrap
- Update web: see ANN

The ANN shows Bitbi9 as an exchange, but it closed down, and it shows Bter's on the wrong blockchain.I assume you will remove Bitbi9 as an exchange. What status will you give Bter? Is it on the right blockchain yet?

Yes, Bitbi9 is gone and should be removed from the OP. As there is no hope that Bter will upate anytime soon I think Bter should be removed too or replaced with a warning in big bold red letters saying "DO NOT DEPOSIT OR TRADE TIPS IN BTER!". Else, people will just lose their coins there.

Is the network stuck now on block 72000?Huh

www.zpool.ca/explorer/BTM

# 72010 here. Seems at current price and diff (~3500) the chain is only moving very slowly until next diff-adjust.

me and chris agreed that it might be a better idea to enable POW. In roughly 2 weeks time there will be a hard fork to enable POW again making the coin a POW/POS hybrid. Block reward as of yet is un-decided but the remaining code has been written

Ahmed

Will it support auxpow as before the fork to POS?

1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SBC] [SCRYPT] StableCoin The Story Continues! Join Our Community Coin Project on: July 15, 2016, 01:46:46 PM
I had bought the gridseed to prevent the wallet from going out of sync because the current pools don't seem to be mining empty blocks.  Since it only runs at 7 or 8 watts I will try to keep it running most of the time.

Its not the empty blocks, its the market-price/diff/reward ratio. At a diff of ~0.9 your 250kh/s need ~4hrs to pop a block when the chain is stuck. In StableCoin the block target is 40s and the diff adjusts every 90 blocks. That is after 90 blocks with a diff of ~0.9 have been mined slower than 40s per block in average, diff will decrease to reach its target with the hash it sees. So expect a good drop in diff once the 90 blocks are over (and expect a lot of multipools to join for the next 90 low-diff blocks)

Now once the diff falls a bit, the above equation of market-price/diff/reward gives a better result (which you also can trigger by giving insanely high fees, that has the same effect on the mentioned ratio as a diff that is lower or a higher market-price). At this time multipools monitoring SBC join in and harvest a few cheap blocks (difficulty-wise cheap) with much more hash than the current diff is adjusted for. This again blows up diff and now the chain is again stuck for 90 blocks

With what you do, you actually keep the chain moving, but it is a very ungrateful task for you, as whenever you worked diff down to a level that you could mine a few blocks with your gear, others come in stealing your fruity blocks.

Adjusting diff only every x blocks is fine for chains/coins with a very high and stable hashrate (i.e. BTC or LTC). For smaller chains, I believe that it is a much better strategy to adjust diff on every or every few blocks.

Blockheight is the same here, but at ~0.9 diff it can take some time to pop a block with 250kh/s. Give it at least a few hours before you give up.

I am mining from a laptop on a home network and starting the wallet with the -server directive.  Also, when mining on a pool, I get the error "Stratum connection to pool 0 interrupted", after every new block.  All mining parameters look OK.  It showing about 255 Kh/s.

That all looks good to me so far. Maybe you can find any hint in the debug.log in the same folder as your StableCoin.conf.
Also make sure no personal firewall blocks you from accessing the rpcport of the wallet. And maybe check with netstat if the wallet is really listening on that rpcport 17501.

Can you guys send the remaining btc asap plz

I have allowed myself to bump this. Now that there is nicely working code and a blockchain that rewards all miners and not just one,  we shouldn't forget that Ahmed delivered pretty quickly and without asking for money upfront.

To recap, so far I have transferred the below amounts to Ahmed:

cryptoid: 0.0506
myc066: 0.0504
plast555: 0.0568
psycodad: 0.05
<unknown>: 0.1
smarterhash: 0.05

BTC       0.3578

That is still a bit away from the 1BTC he asked for, so here is again his address for donations (he confirmed it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1420302.msg15435872#msg15435872 ):
Code:

Hopefully some not yet listed above will take this chance to show their appreciation of Ahmeds help.

I recently bought a gridseed device as I stated in a previous post.  Wanting to mine empty blocks, I have discovered it won't connect to my wallet with CGMiner or BFGMiner.  These two mining applications have no problem connecting to a pool but after several hours of trial and error, I can't solo mine with the gridseed.  Is there some configuration issue or are pools the only mining option when a gridseed is used?
I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to solomine SBC. Can you show us the miner cmd line and the StableCoin.conf (mask or remove rpcusername and password)?

I believe it's looking for a file it expects to find from the github repository

https://github.com/fedoracoin-dev/fedoracoin/tree/master-0.9/src/qt/locale

The locale/bitcoin_ach.ts is there, but the build process should make a .qm from it and for that it needs lrelease.

Compiling Windows-qt x86 in XUBUNTU 14.04 VM using these instructions:

Everything works perfectly up to the very last step.

Error message:

Cool that you got so far. I googled a bit and your error sounds like the locale files have not been able to build. Check what kind of suffixes you see in the locale directory and also make sure you have lrelease from qt5 installed (qttools5-dev-tools).

Yes, then you are right, when your tx fees are multiples of the block reward that is certainly triggering multipools to mine that block and maybe the next few ones if their diff becomes low enough.

At the current diff you could probably keep the chain moving for much less money with a USB miner or two.
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SBC] [SCRYPT] StableCoin The Story Continues! Join Our Community Coin Project on: July 07, 2016, 02:04:36 PM
I have been sending out transaction with a fee.  I looks like that is the only way for miners to generate a block on the blockchain.  The network hashrate is running at about 1000 Mh/s.  Is that how pools work?  They only generate a block if a transaction with a fee is broadcast on the network?

No a pending transaction doesn't make the chain move, while miners enjoy the fees for the transaction, but they are actually more after the block reward, the tx-fees are just a cream tip on top of the block reward.
That said, the SBC chain was simply stuck for days and started to move again yesterday, coincidentally with your transaction. However the 1000Mh/s are way off, my node shows a diff of 0.59 and a hashrate of 4.5Mh/s.

If your fee was extremly high, I mean in the range of the block reward or parts thereof (say 10-50 SBC), this might have triggered a multipool to mine on SBC because it looked profitable to them when ther suddenly is a much higher reward at same diff.

This is seriously confusing.  Which wallet is in sync with the explorer and the "new" chain?

I concede it got a bit of a mess lately but that's completely owned to unlucky circumstances. I understand testbug who maintains the OP has serious health conditions and therefor couldn't yet update OP and the block explorer at http://www.fedoracoin.xyz:3001.
I offered him to update the above BE but haven't heard back yet which I sincerely hope that is not a bad sign and just wish him to get well soon!

Nonetheless if there is no news from him, there needs to be a new ANN so that people don't get fooled into using the wrong github link and outdated windows wallet. I'd say lets wait until we have the windows wallet, hopefully this week. By then either this OP should be updated or a new one created and the board mods should be asked to lock this one with the last post being a link to the new one.
Maybe then a new OP should be maintained by a special role account to which more than one person has access.

What do others think about it?

For the time being, here are the current links:

Current Github sources: https://github.com/fedoracoin-dev/fedoracoin
Current BE: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/ https://tipsbe.netcraft.ch/
Exchanges with updated wallet: http://novaexchange.com/
As far as I am aware all pools listed in the OP that still have TIPS listed have updated already.

P.S.: Regarding windows wallet: each small donation to Ahmed certainly speeds up things...
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: July 04, 2016, 09:15:04 AM
Ok so I just bought a few million tips from hellion on nova exchange.
Then last night I try to send some of them to Cryptopia wallet and they dissappeared from nova wallet and never appeared at the cryptopia wallet.  No transaction pending or anything.  Can someone please tell me what is going on?  Did I buy bogus tips from Hellion on Nova.  Someone said it is safe then what happened?  Is there a block explorer.  I am asking cryptopia these questions too.   Help!

txid:  6f08e11c6f55b2cf881e29e2adcdfbc776fa105c84cf6a7f6534af96b44f078a

it shows as confirmed

Research zapwallettxes on Google.

That won't help. The tx is confirmed on the correct chain but Cryptopia is sitting on the fork and refuses to update since one of the forks lost them ~60mio. They have clearly stated they won't update, which is understandeable to a certain degree. What is not understandeable is that they allow people still to deposit when the market is closed. Pretty naughty.

If you updated to the new wallet, please DO NOT DEPOSIT TO CRYPTOPIA OR BTER. Novaexchange is the only exchange running the current wallet and Alcurex is considering it.

1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin $$ IMPROVED Halving | KGW Fix Update!!! on: July 03, 2016, 11:49:37 AM
Dev is not answer so is there someone who can help with USDe issue?

Hello from alcurEX.
I have problem to get transferred coins.

In new wallet I generate new address GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr
Coins from alcurex.org has sent to this address.
Any way wallet have no balance even address GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr is in our wallet address list.

What I mean is:
Old wallet show transaction sent and confirmed, but address in new wallet not got it.

Code:
Status: 150 confirms
Date: 12.6.2016 22:30
To: GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr
Debit: -20032867.09 USDE
Transaction fee: -2.50 USDE
Net amount: -20032869.59 USDE
Transaction ID: b63673e42a644525c3465ee54b4c6c98b53424639121b9de22561095cef57352

We are forced to keep USDe market paused until this issue is solved.

Please check if you have the same peers on both wallets and make sure blockheight is the same for both.

To be sure I would delete the blockchain on both wallets, add the below nodes and start with -rescan on both.

Here is what my node currently shows as active peers:
Code:
146.0.32.101:54449
45.79.197.174:54449
184.166.75.160:54449
91.153.109.149:54449

It's a pity there is no active block explorer to check against...

My current block height is # 1268506 right now and blocks are found regulary so the chain is moving fine AFAICS.

0.36 of 1 BTC was paid.

Ahmed

Thanks for confirming my payment Ahmed, the above amount comes from the following donations which I have rounded up to 0.36:

cryptoid: 0.0506
myc066: 0.0504
plast555: 0.0568
psycodad: 0.05
<unknown>: 0.1
smarterhash: 0.05
============
BTC       0.3578

So I have released all funds I have received from the community plus my part to Ahmed.

Again, we talked about 1BTC for Ahmed initially so there is still a gap - but since Ahmed delivered very quickly, please send future donations directly to him, resp. to Ahmeds new address:
Code:
12tSquEBTgs2WsHXgh5kKD8hNwvsrvo7o1
(Ahmed, please confirm here this is your address, so that people that want to donat can be sure you get the money)

Do not send anymore donations for wallet development to me, if you want to donate send it directly to Ahmed.

I am not sure yet if Ahmed will be able to provide us a windows wallet, but I am certain that the *pling* of incoming satoshis to his wallet will make him try harder  Grin

We should have a windows wallet by end of next week if things work out as expected, but that's not a promise just an estimation.
