I'm the one to join along with you, not having a single point so far in the 5th round. Today I believed somehow I'll get few points. Finally in both the matches the results were completely upside down. Chennai lost the match at the last ball and Mumbai players gave an unexpected performance winning against Rajasthan Royals chasing 212 runs. Already 5 matches of the 5th round over. More five matches left for us to make few points from the 5th round.
We have two match today and I have no idea who I picked. Nothing is going to change for me I guess. So if anyone wants then I can tell what I picked 😂. Let's see if we are able to earn any point.

Yesterday at some point I wanted MI to win. The David guy played a monster innings and he deserves it. Holder was just below average in his last three balls. He needs to learn how to pitch a ball LOL
1302  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for the best tipsters in the world on: May 01, 2023, 08:15:16 AM
I really don't understand why people think tipsters can make someone profit. If they were so good at predicting then they were not going to sell the information in exchange of a fees. They could just simply bet of different casino / sportsbooks and make a lot of money.

Tipsters are like those gurus online who teach others how to sell product and make money where they are selling their BS courses and earning from those sales.

I haven't followed any tipsters, but tbh I believe that there are very rare tipsters who are really good at sports bets and can share their tips to their followers to let them profit from it. However, as OP described, there is nobody called a perfect tipster, because if he'd be perfect and 100% or even 90% accurate in his bets, he would have been preached as a God instead of human. Making money alone is good, but helping others make money through our opinions is worst and we, the tipsters take that risk to help others to make money if we keep everything transparent and as this forum is not telegram, it's uneasy to hide anything here from anybody's eyes because we can see everything at ninjastic space if I'm not wrong.  Grin
I don't mind sharing tips as long as the person is having fun but when he is doing it to make side income then there is something wrong. For financial gain his mind will trick him and he will make wrong decisions as it's not costing him anything quickly [may be in the long run his reputation is costing though]. He even doesn't need to relay on winning his legs, he can make good money from the subscription fees.

There are various contests in which tipsters compete publicly and as I already wrote some of them are really good and have a high percentage of wins - but this is not about fixed matches, but about sports events in which the outcome can be predicted based on the strength of the teams and their current form. But these are smaller odds of around 1.50 on average and if you want to earn something, you have to invest a little more money, which not everyone can do, so such offers are not very attractive.
A competition between them is fine but I am talking about those who are making it a profession to sell their subscriptions.

Here is that bet though with over 22 odds https://stake.com/sports/home?iid=sport%3A79005138&modal=bet
Nice win. Instead of LTC if you would stake BTC then you could make a lot LOL but looking at the selection it was understandable that the risk was high. So overall you did good.

From now on I'm betting with 2.00+ odds if I win a freebet again. Although I personally think that the "average" comes in play only when many thousands of bets are made, I don't see the reason for not betting in a more favourable way than I was doing it before. It simply cannot do any harm, right? Smiley
2.00, 2.25 are some average odds and anyone can leverage it if they have good knowledge about the team and the recent trend of a league. But when it's about multi and picking up more teams add more risks. One mistake can ruin everything for you. I once was lucky to win a slip of 8 folds and stake was around £20. If I remember correctly then all were from a PL single round.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 30, 2023, 06:04:52 PM
Honestly, when Richarlison equalised, I wasn't even surprised. Don't think he even touched the ball, the bounce took everyone by surprise. My bet was on a half-time lead anyway so Liverpool ensured that, even with great difficulty... then Jota comes up with the goods a minute later.
It was not very clear but when he took off the shirt, I was sure that he touched it or he would not be so much confident.

I had 3 - 1 on the pool and until the 75th minutes it looked like everything was going well. No team seems to find the back of the net and it was not looking that anything is going to happen too but then suddenly Son surprised everyone and everything started to change.

At the end the match was exciting, filled with last moment drama. Richarlison thought he was going to be the hero for Tottenham but the mistake from the Tottenham defense surely stole 3 the points. Though we won, but I think it was fair to end by 3 - 3.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk IPL Prediction Pool & Discussion 2023 on: April 30, 2023, 05:53:50 PM
I am also regularly choosing the team in this pool and my performance is around 50%. Some of the matches I predicted correctly while some go against my prediction. I am currently at number 4  on Leaderboard with 22 points.
Don't regret. There are people who are doing even worst than you.

No win so far from this round yet. If RR wins then I may have a point today. But looking at the trend, four loss out of four finished match and the way Mumbai Indian's are batting, I think I will not earn any point from this match too LOL

After a long time I am actually watching cricket. Watched Liverpool vs Tottenham and then changed the channel to watch IPL and it's hard to switch it off now.
1306  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can we trust 3rd party Slot providers? on: April 30, 2023, 05:47:39 PM
My question is.... can we trust these 3rd party Slot providers? Who are auditing their games and who are checking if the advertised RTP are being configured on their servers?

Let's discuss....  Huh
The whole casino industry is using third party slot providers except when some are becoming big then they are developing their own slots. For a starter casino developing in-house games / slots are too expensive and easier for relaying to others. I don't think the demand is not going down any time soon.

About trust and things? The gambling industry is doing business. A piece of software is easy to manipulate especially when it is not open source. So no matter if that is an in-house slot from a highly trusted casino or third party integration, you always have the chance to lose big money and become a victim of manipulation.

Few days ago I left a message to Rollbit Razer to check the other scam accusation thread.  Now this one added too. He seems not online since 20th. Let's wait for him to be online and address the issue.

Lately it seems another web of accusations against Rollbit if I can remember Rollbit was the casino who had a few accusations against them few months ago too.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 30, 2023, 10:06:48 AM
City is going to have an easy win against Fullham which means today will be the day, they are going to take the first place officially with having one more match in hand than Arsenal. This is where City is different from any other team. No matter how they start their season, what progress they have in the mid season, at the end of the season they figure out how to lead the league and have the title.

In the forest game, i really dont see the game, but come on Forest, you cant give up that win if you want to reamin in Premier League.
They still have four matches to play. Leicester and Everton have five each to go. Leeds have five more to go too. If we consider Southampton is already a gone and out of equation, it's understandable. But between Forest, Leicester, Everton and Leeds finding two is still a hard job.
1310  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 30, 2023, 09:54:58 AM
since the tagging doesn't stop them from joining campaigns as we have managers that doesn't care about our community guidelines
I don't blame the managers. Truth is, there are no community guidelines and some of the DT members made negative tag so cheap that these days having one or two negative tag is in fact prestigious. An account without negative tag looks like an average account LOL

When it comes to fairness, Brainboss's offer is the perfect solution. Caught accounts, with proof that the account is not real with the owner, must be banned from wearing a signature, if not forever, then for any sufficient period so that the person can prove his interest in the forum.
Solution seems nice but implementing it means forum staffs need their involvement. It's not unknown to all of us that the forum authority do not moderate such things.

This reminds me a night from over 10 to 12 years ago. It was in a Tennis Tournament. I was betting in point market. Started with £200. From the afternoon to the next day morning. Gambled over 10 to 12 hours and made £1300+. Then I become greedy. Mind started tricking me. In the next 10 to 15 minutes I lost all and then went to a sound sleep LOL

The most dangerous part is, who are these people to constantly policing over everyone? Ban the signature feature, 95 or even more out of 100 of them will make one or two posts in a month or week. No offense for any specific signature campaign member from Chipmixer, those who used to make over 50 posts per week when Chipmixer was paying for up to 50 posts, how many of them now makes 50 posts?
Take a look at Active users and top posters on Bitcointalk.org in the past 7 days.
The page only gives history of latest 7 days. I am interested to see post per week before a date x and after the same date. Not much important though.

Be careful drawing conclusions from this: it looks like you have many local boards on ignore, which means you don't see all of his (first) posts.
This is another time of many where I fall into my own trap LOL
You are correct.

I see he started from his local board but it took him only two days to make his first post on scam accusation board and started giving positive input with good arguments. The same day after few hours he also posted on the project development board. In less than 5 days he started contributing on plagiarism finding arts like how to use archive and things.

It's been years for me in the community and still I don't think I was able to find an account which is plagiarizing unless it was discovered by another one and I was in the discussion. Finding plagiarism, arguing in scam accusation topic really needs some level of forum experience which was enough for him two gain in less than five/two days. I see he is a quick learner and we need more members like him to make this place better 😉.

Edit:  Am I seeing this right?  Brighton 6 - 0 vs Wolverhampton?
Yes and we saw similar type of high scoring two or more matches in the last round too. Today's first match between Palace vs West Ham had 7 goals all together. Too bad I was attempting to pick Palace but settled with West Ham to win unfortunately. 4 - 3, 6 - 1, 3 - 2, 4 - 2 or even 4 - 1 these type of results bring one point most of the time but you need to pick for the right side. It benefits in the slam point only.

In this round we have 13 matches and slam points will play a major role. So far everyone did fairly good job.
1314  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sign/Verify Messages Important? on: April 29, 2023, 04:32:17 PM
There is one more question I want to ask is how important it is to sign a Bitcoin address message because from several sources that I have read so far Bitcoin is safe from hacking.

Thanks.
Signing a message is just like writing a message. It has nothing to do with the wallet security.
I assume you saw it on this forum where people are signing message to verify their bitcointalk account?

It's obvious that a bitcoin address private key will not be shared with anyone and signing a message with that particular address means you own the address. When you do something from an address that you own and when you do it from an account that means you are the owner of the account too. That's how we interpret it.
1315  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Importing trustwallet to Electrum advisable? on: April 28, 2023, 12:11:27 AM
Hello all, good morning good evening and afternoon depending on the country you are reading this post from.
I just have a little question to ask in other to help me secure my funds very well., there was a post I was reading that says using trustwallet to store funds is not that recommendable to hold but for long now I have been using trustwallet though I barely leave my funds over there ones I was paid from sig i do send out but currently I want to change my perspectives to start holding. I don't know if these questions already asked..

1) My question is, can I also use this same trustwallet and import to Electrum downloaded to my personal laptop?
2) If Yes, then is my funds secured since the key phrase were generated from trustwallet?
3) If something happened to trustwallet entirely would my imported funds to Electrum be affected, please I really need to know about all this since i am not a fan of Electrum just trying to see if i could get used to another wallet aside Trustwallet app.

Please if this question doesn't belong here kindly point out where it should be it will be a thing of joy to me moving it over there.
Thank you.
Importing the wallet on Electrum using BIP39 is already answered.

My question is, since you want to get rid of the old wallet then why would you bother to import it on Electrum? Importing it on Electrum does not mean it lost from Trustwallet. You are using the same wallet but with a different software.

It does not cost you to create a new wallet and keep the new seed safe then transfer the coins to the new wallet created with Electrum.
1316  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 27, 2023, 11:30:43 PM
No. Tagging someone with zero scam history is not necessarily an abuse of the trust system. The system is designed to help identify and address potential issues before they become bigger problems. Even if someone has no history of scams, they may still engage in behavior that violates forum rules or causes other users to feel he/she is untrustworthy.
When you want to see problems then you will always see problems. What makes you think that there is going to be a problem or something is becoming bigger problem. Are you a person from the future and landed into our timezone using your invented time machine?

Here what I see problem when I look at your profile.

FatFork is positively helping with exposing scams. Thank you for your contributions tidying up this forum.
What do I get from all these positive feedback?

I can see you have a greater goal to build the account and then you will scam someone. You have no trading history but someone may feel safe looking at all these positive feedback then try to have a large deal. You will take the chance and gone, no one finds you. A scam accusation is the best and these same group of people will then tag you.  Should I tag you before the problem become bigger?

I can see you are building your account and aligned with a group of people who have the same interest too and exchanging positive feedback to each others to build your accounts. Should I see a problem here and tag you? Problem can be bigger, right?

On the other hand I can see, it's okay, when someone is trying to build their account. It looks odd when an account received 6 positive feedback from a group of people [in just 4 years of timestamp, obviously after the merit system introduced] but none of them are trade related where feedback was supposed to be encouraging trades between users.

What difference you and the other account have which was accused for an alt [you think they could scam, they are problem and so many negative things]?

[Edit] Speaking about problem. Look what I found when I was doing the same like you guys do. Well I did not dig that well. I just wanted to see how you started since you are one of the account which started after the merit system.

[The last page of your post history, starting from the most last post which was your first post and then 2nd last is your 2nd post and so on].

Who on the universe joined the forum and after one day starts posting on the [1], [2], [3] scam accusation section and making good arguments?
How did he find the forum related discussions on Meta? Ah he knows project development board too.
The most merit cycled boards are probably Meta, reputation and scam accusation boards. It took him time to discover reputation board but he was good enough to find other boards and having sensible discussions in less than a week time-span.

How strange it's for a newbie account who found everything very easily where it's even harder for a member or full member accounts to find these space to gain their merits.

Shall I start it with a problem and better to start for staying safe by giving a tag that FatFork is an alt account with the reference of this post?
Considering your logic of becoming the problem bigger I should have one for you? 😉
1317  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 27, 2023, 10:54:32 PM
Good job yahoo62278 for creating the topic. It was a needed topic and I think many of us should be talking about it.

1st of all, when you are targeted in the forum by an individual or a bunch of individuals then you have very slim chance to get away from it. I saw it to happen with many members and a lot of them left the forum (safe to say, left the account). Many of them had positive contributions and ultimately the forum as a whole lost it.

2nd of all, there are group of people who made their day job finding scammers, spammers, alt accounts and the benefit for them is to build a reputation for their own. The effect was widely noticed after the merit system was introduced. A lot of users realized it's not going to happen to rank up without making any contribution. So they started to digging up others merit transactions, wallet address connections etc. When one of the connection is made then find something to connect it with a ban evading account or find if they applied in same signature campaign etc.

The basic of growing this hunting culture actually developed to gain personal goals.

Buying an account is discouraged.

But someone who bought an account from years ago [whatever their reason is except any attempt to scam] why is it important to dig up the account today and try everything to ruin it after years when the account looks clearly focusing on signature campaign earning?

Why it's important to find a plagiarized post that happened 5 years ago and bring it today then give everything to ban the account?

Why it's important to find wallet connection that happened 7 years ago in a signature campaign and tag the account?

The most dangerous part is, who are these people to constantly policing over everyone? Ban the signature feature, 95 or even more out of 100 of them will make one or two posts in a month or week. No offense for any specific signature campaign member from Chipmixer, those who used to make over 50 posts per week when Chipmixer was paying for up to 50 posts, how many of them now makes 50 posts? [Someone can scrap their posts history and make an average to show before and after].

Whatever happen in the forum is for earning from signature campaign, losing competitions, taking revenge just because you don't like the particular person. Most importantly having personal benefits. I can name you a few accounts who started spamming right after they became legendary but before becoming legendary they were regularly looking for wrongdoings from accounts [Making so called quality contribution] and accusing others left and right.

I will have more to say from many different dimensions. But let's see what others take from this so far.
1318  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit disables account and seizes funds (10.2k)! on: April 27, 2023, 09:56:33 PM

I am pretty sure we will have an update from them. There are handful of users ask in this thread and asking for information. Rollbit is here for long time and they know how to handle it.

I hope so! I sent an email to Razer from Rollbit just now, but I still have had no replies from their support in 2 weeks now. Really seems they don't want to give me an explanation on what I abused or TOS I breached (Which I can't find any).

I'm not sure what else to do now about this situation, any ideas are welcome.

Thanks
Let me help you in it a bit more. I will send them a PM to check the recent development and comment again. Hopefully they will do and take it seriously this time. Sometimes when an accuser accuse then their response seems overlooked. Two weeks for it is a long time.

[Edit] PM sent and we can wait few days or a week to be honest.
1319  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [Newbie question] How to keep my Electrum wallet and BTC safe (given scenario) on: April 27, 2023, 09:46:03 PM
Hello Everyone 😀
I'm new to Electrum and I tried best to watched tutorials but there is still some confusion 😕

I'm sure there are so many people out here who have great experience 🧠 using Electrum wallet, may I ask your opinion about these question I've:

1. How to keep my Electrum wallet and BTC safe? [I created Standard wallet]
(In other words which constraints I need to focus on to keep my wallet and BTC safe: seed, private key, and public key)
FYI: I'm not in the favor of 2FA  reason is not willing to pay 3rd party any money and also they keep 1 key at cloud.

2. If I remove the Electrum application from computer then will my wallet remain safe for few yrs even if Electrum release updates about application
or even if Electrum decides to discontinue the wallet.

I'm glad to to be apart of this community 😀 and seek your wisdom✨ and guidance.
You are worrying too much.
Write down the words in a piece of paper (don't save them in digital format, don't take a picture of the words or even a part of the words, don't show it to anyone except the ones you trust with your life, don't lose it).
Keep the paper in a safe place as safe as it kept in a vault of Swiss Bank.

Better to write the words in a fireproof metal and keep the it in a safe place like you keep your gold and diamond out of reach from everyone.

Once your seeds are kept safe, then remove the Electrum application, break your computer, bomb the headquarter of the OS provider, take down the current internet system, do everything to destroy the world. You will still not lose your coins unless you are able to destroy all copies of full nodes 😉

Good luck.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 12-word seed vs 24-word seed? This seems pretty interesting on: April 27, 2023, 09:35:43 PM
But if one knows seeds but not their ordering, then 12-word seed wallet will be vulnerable to attacks but 24-word seed phrase still maintains high security.
Isn't it general knowledge? A 24 word seed is better than a 12 words. The highest the words the better the security.

Quote
I’ll give you all 12 words but in no particular order.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-advocate-cracks-known-12-word-seed-phrase-in-minutes
No wonder LOL
25 minutes seem to me a long time that took when you have all words in front of you. It needed to check the combination of the words. I studied combination a long time ago from that sense I think finding all the combinations of 12 words/string should not be very hard for a programmer. Your job is then to check the results with each finding which should not be a hard job too.

It would be harder if the letters of the words were not in correct orders too.

The moral of the story is don't scramble (or do any other weird "tricks") to your seed phrase.
You got it wrong. The news channel/site needs story to keep their visitors engaged. If they don't add suspense then no one is going to click. The title is a perfect example.
