how to do those coulourful signatures
Just Google for a BBCode color generator.
13062  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Please critique my paper-wallet creation steps on: November 27, 2020, 10:17:38 AM
Allow me to add some steps (off the top of my head), depending on your level of paranoia, not necessarily in this order:
1. Close the curtains.
2. Disable swapping on your Live CD:
Code:
sudo swapoff -a
2. Disconnect your PC speakers.
3. Disconnect your hard drive (read why).
4. Turn off all other electronic devices, remove batteries from listening devices (such as phones).
5. Don't rely on software to create a random seed, use coin tosses.
6. When you get a new address from your master public key, verify if you can actually recreate it from your seed. Kinda like how you verify a new address created by Electrum by connecting your hardware wallet.
7. Verify the address using different pieces of software, all offline and air gapped, so you don't have to rely on (for instance) Electrum being honest.
13063  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LEGO Bitcoin Wallets on: November 27, 2020, 10:04:07 AM
  • Using flat bricks for the blacks and leaving the whites non-flat (cheaper)
  • Using flat bricks for blacks and whites (more expensive but looks "better")
Flat bricks don't really look like Lego. If you want something flat, Ministeck is cheaper, smaller and lighter (for shipping):

OP have you tried to make QR code with black and white Play-Doh?
I The kids have this stuff:

They haven't used the black and the white. It would be quite good for QR-codes because it hardens, but especially the black foam is terribly sticky.

13065  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 27, 2020, 09:19:31 AM

I laughed at his comeback aimed at me but just exactly how can he tell LoyceV to "Get a life because others have the money and he did the whole work"?
Looks like he has no real arguments but wants to leave "retaliation neutral feedback". Fine by me, see my personal text Smiley
13066  Economy / Reputation / Re: Re-join and hello to all! on: November 26, 2020, 09:59:12 PM
Welcome back, I guess Smiley

I have only one suggestion: always be honest!
13067  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 09:43:41 PM
Is that really plagiarism tho? No, its not.
Copyright is a better word indeed.

Quote
Regardless, you know full well that plagiarism isn't a reasonable excuse to leave red trust. There's a much better case to be made for "theft."
Agreed.

Most of this drama is solved by now: Gyrsur removed the signature, he lost his DT2-position, he removed most of his abusive negative feedback, he lost the negative feedback from DT on his own account. I'd say case (almost) closed, other than the few remaining negatives left by Gyrsur.
13068  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 04:31:29 PM
wow, thank you! we're coming back to the source of all trouble.
If you're going to tag theymos, don't forget to tag satoshi too, he's the one who put theymos in charge
13069  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reference topic: Why are these members excluded on trust lists? on: November 26, 2020, 04:29:23 PM
Was it your first time? I mean getting DT neg trust.
Yes, but he's not in my Trust network so I didn't get a heart attack.

Quote
Seriously though, I would suggest ~willi9974 while we're at it.
I've seen his name pop up more often, I'll think about it.
13070  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 04:26:30 PM
where are the official guidelines?
See:
LoyceV's guide seems reasonable.

The system is for handling trade risk, not for flagging people for good/bad posts/personalities/ideas.
13071  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 04:17:35 PM
but remember you started the shooting!
Don't worry about it, I'm shooting with blanks, following my Beginners Guide (from your signature) so that negative feedback doesn't lose it's meaning. And that's why my feedback means something, while you'll be at DT2 Strength (-10) or lower if you keep abusing the Trust system. Have it your way.
13072  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reference topic: Why are these members excluded on trust lists? on: November 26, 2020, 04:12:18 PM
Update:
This guy has been leaving fake negative feedback to several users. He's currently on DT2, but doesn't belong there:

Well he certainly has been leaving some very strange feedback. I
Now I have to leave him neutral feedback for Trust abuse:

He's not in my Trust network, but it turns out willi9974 put Gyrsur on DT2:

I'll also exclude him from my Trust list, and I recommend others to do the same:
Code:
~Gyrsur
Maybe I should wait a bit, he's still on a negative feedback spree. He'll earn way more exclusions if he leaves fake negative feedback while on DT2.

@Gyrsur: if you want to tag all ChipMixer signature campaign participants, let me help you:

how about the support of inner circles and shady cartels? will you also comment on this so quick as you did before?  Wink
This seems off-topic (and in need of evidence) to me, so no, I won't comment on it here. But I think you missed my point: if you want to argue against negative feedback, at least use the right arguments.
It could be as simple as: "I've removed the fake signature, please consider removing the negative feedback".

I like seeing my Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system in your signature Smiley
13075  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 03:01:36 PM
EDIT:
EDIT2:
None of this has anything to do with the negative feedback you received. Bitcointalk has never supported plagiarism.
13076  Economy / Reputation / Re: Copycat Signatures: Chipmixer and Wasabi on: November 26, 2020, 12:25:14 PM
Now with him deleting his posts from this or other threads where he seemed far from apologetic and enjoyed the attention being showered upon him
Let's see: https://loyce.club/archive/details/topic_5229417.html

I've also checked LoyceV's trust guide, which I'm aware is a mere guideline, but a pretty good one; and the counter feedbacks are not considered in neither positive or negative use cases, so it's safe to assume they'd fall into the "Other" category, and thus neutral tag.
For what it's worth: that's how I use it.
13077  Other / Meta / Re: Do you want more or less freedom? on: November 26, 2020, 12:10:39 PM
I just realize i can't see pool result without voting, so i would add "Ban people who make poll, but people must vote to see result" Tongue
Or just wait: (Voting closes: December 02, 2020, 08:24:12 PM)
I had to vote too to see the results.

Not if you include index size, edit history, all deleted posts, all merit transaction, etc.
Deleted posts isn't that much data. Editing I'm not sure, but I doubt it'll even double the amount. All Merit data is just 20 MB.

Please add "Ban users who submit proof of authentication and report posts" to your poll questions. Wink
I'd love to, but that would be way too serious.

Forum needs a little, just a tad bit more of stricter rules, and I think there'd be a better balance to things than what there currently is.
So you're saying you want less freedom. Or only less freedom for others?

On a somewhat more serious note: what's prompting you to create this thread, OP?
This is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5293230.msg55681694#msg55681694
That was the direct reason to create this topic, but it's been stewing for a while seeing topics asking to bring back Newbie jail, ban Newbies from creating topics or banning alt accounts.

Where is the option to vote against allowing votes?
Don't vote Wink

I'd hope we'd manage to stamp out far leftism and far rightism as strongly as possible from the forum along with any pro authoritarian peeps that come along who want their privacy sacrificing to big data farms.
It sounds pretty authoritarian to want to stamp out pro authoritarian peeps.

Quote
ban users who don't capitalize sentences
How this option sticks out from the rest cause it's not capitalized makes me want to vote for this
It annoys me too, but it's part of the forum's mission to be as free as possible.
Users who write ALL CAPS are worse though.

Now, as part of my freedom, I want to make a petition to stop people from making a petition.
Go ahead, nobody is stopping you Wink

I think level of democracy is optimal here.
Lol, I don't think Bitcointalk is a democracy at all. I'm okay with that.

Omg 9 votes for ban the OP.
If you guys ban the Switzerland's AI all you guys are doomed.
I'd say those 15 (44%) out of 34 voters (I'm not counting myself) get why I created this topic.
I'm just stirring the pot a bit Wink

The ovine masses will always choose tyranny over freedom, if they are allowed to choose freely.
I notice it in the news too: many people want more government and more regulations, even though we have a large government with large taxes and more laws than anyone can read already. They always want to force other people to do what they believe is right.

28% of the total votes till now  goes in the favor of "I'm hurt, ban LoyceV"
Don't count votes, count voters. It gives a higher percentage.

Quote
I am sure all those people who voted on this option are not serious and voted just for the fun.  Wink
You think?

Give the freedom of the authoritarians to impose restrictions on others, while not applying said regulations for themselves.
Isn't that the basis of all restrictions? People cherry pick which rules they follow, whether it's spamming a forum, traffic rules, or murder.

At least the second most popular poll response is the one that actually makes sense: banning bots.
Apart from the popular opinion that I'm an AI, I'd love to have a posting bot again. I can think of many good uses for it.

I'm disappointed with the vote option, we're in Bitcoin Forum, but there's no option to make bitcointalk.org uses public permissionless blockchain Angry
Every member should run bitcoin bitcointalk.org core and reserve 20 TB storage to store all spam post permanently.
Currently, 100 GB is enough. I'd love to see what happens to a truely decentralized forum, and I've seen interesting posts from theymos about it, something like: a system similar to the custrom Trust list could be used to decide who's posts you get to see and filter out the spam.
