this wolfsburg and hoffenhaim are crazy if you ask me
they miss a damn penalty, then in the 92th minute they miss a 115% chance,no word
Exactly. Quite unfortunate actually, I expected more.

now waiting for the MLS match tonight
I actually played over 2.5 goals on Nitrogen and won! The statistics for this week don't look good at all, could somebody post a summary?
13142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin busts: Its anonymity made Bitcoin popular among criminals. on: March 12, 2016, 10:17:12 PM
What is the point of this article? Why is it that people think that Bitcoin is completely anonymous? It is a transparent ledger after all, anyone can see everything on it. Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous which is actually better if you want a coin that is legal and/or regulated. If you don't want that, then go find something in the altcoin pile.

13144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth pump is just part of the ongoing coordinated attack on bitcoin.... on: March 12, 2016, 09:00:04 PM
Incoming:"Microsoft controls Ethereum".

What you have to ask is, is it possible to implement ETH where BTC is currently being accepted?
I don't care, nor do I want that to happen.

Here you go:
...
In comparison to Bitcoin is what I meant.

Lauda i am pretty surprised at you saying this, i had thought that you where one pretty sensible guy Huh but seriously are you telling me that just because you cant use ether (which is pretty petty to be honest, i live in Ireland, within about 400 miles i can by a coffee in bitcoin in one shop)  then it is some sort of pump and dump ?
What kind of argument is this? "I'm invested in Ether and you are insensible because you dislike it"? My 3 points stand strong. Again, it is a fact that the merchant adoption is very weak in comparison to BTC (I'll assume LTC has better than Ether); it is a fact that there were bots promoting ETH on reddit and it is a fact that there are bots spamming "Bitcoin dying; ETH up" rubbish here, ergo the chances of this being coordinated are very high.
Can't you use logic?
13145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth pump is just part of the ongoing coordinated attack on bitcoin.... on: March 12, 2016, 08:18:13 PM
Seriously  Huh  like what is your problem with eth ?
Where can I use my Ether? Oh right, nowhere.

Just another way to try and discredit bitcoin and create fud.
It would make sense if you consider the two things:
1) Coordinated contentious HF's and media attacks (Hearn).
2) ETH bots before the pump on Reddit.
3) ETH bots on the Forum now (quite annoying).

13147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here’s How I Would Bring Down Bitcoin on: March 12, 2016, 07:01:53 PM
We're gonna see this year if there's someone of there trying to stop Bitcoin in it's tracks. But the Classic thing is pretty lame attempt to be honest.
Well, I would not mind it that much if:
1) The consensus threshold was adequate.
2) Grace period was adequate.
3) The team of developers was comparable to the current one(currently it is similar to Barcelona vs. some High School soccer team).

Another fine example was the recent attack on the network that caused delays for people who were using wallets that were either outdated or had bad fee settings. They've tried to create a sense of false urgency.
13148  Other / Meta / Re: Should we be doing a no tolerance policy on newbies? on: March 12, 2016, 06:50:18 PM
Well obviously the first thing that one should do is to try and help them. However, if they ignore your advice then one should be hard on them. As a new member, at least what they could do is read the rules. Unfortunately many fail to even do that.

Also. Why is this in meta? Mods or the forum have nothing to do with this.
Depends on what he means by "acting out".
13149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People mocking of me for using Bitcoin on: March 12, 2016, 05:14:08 PM
It's actually really simple. You're left with two choices:
1) Try to discuss with them and explain to them why Bitcoin is good. Actually, you're right here because Bitcoin is better than the traditional systems.
2) If they refuse to listen to reason, dump all of them. You don't need to waste time on neanderthals.

13151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Bitcoin extorsion demands on: March 12, 2016, 03:34:19 PM
Sure. The difference being you gotta reveal identity/leave Mom's basement to extort fiat. Bitcoin? Not so much.
Not really if you execute it in a better way (however, let's not discuss this). Getting rid of dirty Bitcoin without almost a trace isn't as simple as you think.

normally ignorant people and no open to innovation
People are very ignorant in regards to a lot of things. This is why Bitcoin's adoption is slower.

Anyway my local mall also being extort by noob terrorist recently that will blow up it's toilet. He asked for 10 BTC ransom.
But at the end , he being captured by police on his place. When police asked why he did that , he answered that he want to make some money.
What a shame that person was a IT officer !
That was badly executed. It seems that a lot of people think that Bitcoin is completely anonymous. This is obviously wrong and we need to work on spreading the message. We should see a decline in such incidents afterwards.
13152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block reward for 2065 is lower than what I have now, is this correct? on: March 12, 2016, 02:20:00 PM
You should always do some research on the Wiki when you need help. Here's a useful page: Controlled supply.

On 2065 provably miners earn more money from fees than from block reward.
"Provably"? No. That's definitely the wrong wording for it. If Bitcoin is to survive they have to earn a lot more from the fees in the future, that's how it was planned.

We might be using bytecoin by then, a bit just isn't very much.
Altcoin? No.

13153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Bitcoin extorsion demands on: March 12, 2016, 02:04:17 PM
The real question is why do people still find this surprising? There are probably a lot of fiat demands as well but the media does not focus on those individual stories. Keep in mind that two days ago hackers almost managed to steal $1 Billion from the banks, but ended up stealing $81 Million. This just tells us that people need to stop ignoring security and hire really good experts to protect their services/systems.

You must not give in to the demands though. As soon as you do that it is highly likely that they will keep asking for more.
13154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2MB Pros and Cons on: March 12, 2016, 10:25:29 AM
Well if we have more room in blocks won't fees be lower? Lower minimum fees means spam attacks are cheaper no?
Well technically yes, but still no. If the fees drop by half, and the amount of empty block space is 50% then such attacks would be as expensive as they are now. There are just a lot of variables and factors to consider.

But that means a 2 MB fork should happen sooner rather than later if they are thinking about difficulty adjustment, the fork should happen before it becomes even more dangerous to fork.
Segwit comes first though. I'd say a 2 MB block size limit would be easier to deploy after IBLT and Weak blocks.

Sure, if you have a >200GiB/month data plan and >70GB free disk space. Not sure about the battery, but it would probably only last a few hours.
You could use a big microSD card and keep it charging constantly, however I don't see why one would want to do this.
13155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network" on: March 12, 2016, 10:17:26 AM
In theory where everyone 'owns' a little piece of hashing power and we don't have whales controlling huge amount of bitcoins - in this situation bitcoin is safe and indeed are free from manipulation.
But we are reaching the state when bitcoin will be controlled by large centralized mining farms as they will provide majority of the hash power.
Miners can't force the rules on the node operators. Miners actually have no power without the users. Their hashrate and coins would plummet in value very quickly if they did something malicious.
13156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network" on: March 12, 2016, 09:54:04 AM
The quote says one thing, reality says another.

Reality = right now you can't get to a blocksize where you can do visa level tx capacity.
In other words, just because Satoshi invented Bitcoin that does not mean that he knew it all. The current engineers (or everyone I guess) have so much data that has been gathered over the years. You can't get nowhere near Visa unless you want to run Bitcoin on a few data centers only (however, I'd argue that it would be near worthless then).

And this is similarly true, not only for bitcoin, but bitcoin-based clones and other blockchain-based systems.
Correct.

No need to form such a country to establish our bitcoin. A lot of transactions are being used with blockchain but visa usage is high due to the universal acceptance. But if bitcoin gets universal acceptance, it will be controlled by someone which causes a backing in growth.
No. Bitcoin can not be controlled by anyone. This is just false.

13158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to explain bitcoin in 20 minutes? on: March 12, 2016, 09:14:45 AM
First video isn't really that much info, it's good if was presenting bitcoin for my grand parents or some old people, but it did point good advantages of bitcoins. Second video is awesome, it describes the thing in 5 minutes giving me around 15 minutes to dive into details. Third have good details too, currently watching the 20min one.
I'm glad that they are helpful to you.

And I'm not looking for you guys to do it for me, just wanted help on planning it out, like what are the prerequisites and order of topics, what points to just mention and what points to add details for.
Well, I wanted to point out that some of the information might be false because the videos are somewhat old. What I meant with my statement is that you should do some research to verify the information or you could post the presentation here and we could help you make one last revision.

To be able to explain it to others, you first have to understand it yourself
Not necessarily. If it is a presentation where openly questioning is allowed, then he would have to know the stuff well.
