Hitting a scaling buffer is a nice problem to have in a way. I wonder how many alts could deliver their claims without hiccups. Perhaps we'll never know.
13162  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-08-29] Risk of Bitcoin Hacks and Losses Is Very Real on: August 29, 2016, 10:26:46 PM
When hackers penetrated a secure authentication system at a bitcoin exchange called Bitfinex earlier this month, they stole about $70 million worth of the virtual currency.

And when hackers got past the first layer they discovered the entire joint was wide open and just aching to be emptied. If their customers knew that's how it was going to be then I don't think there would've been anything left to hack.

That's if it was an outside hack of course. If we knew what was a genuine hack and what was an inside job we may be rather surprised at the stats.
13163  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: August 29, 2016, 10:24:03 PM
I got all the time in the world... wait, you mean the farmed accounts... not me? Wink
lol, your mind is boggled!!!

Them, not yourself. I respect your time expended. Now I think about the amount of time you might have devoted to it, have some extra boggle on top.
13164  Other / Meta / Re: Forum users targetted for their religious/political views, and I don't like it! on: August 29, 2016, 10:18:07 PM
Is trust moderated in any way? It plays no part in my life whatsoever but it seems like a straightforward way to turn your grudge into something genuinely harmful.
13165  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: August 29, 2016, 10:16:15 PM
Where on Earth do people find the time to post this avalanche of rubbish? Even if you're copy and pasting it still requires some sentience. My mind is boggled.
13166  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Would it be legal to create new crypto? on: August 29, 2016, 09:59:54 PM
yes it is legal to create a new crypto currency in the market and then to add it in exchange

Are you absolutely certain about that? Much depends on what country you're living in. There are a few that wouldn't be too happy if they knew who you were.
13167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PumpTeam.Net - Elite Group of Pumpers on: August 29, 2016, 09:32:32 PM
Yeah, they are starting newsletter system with which they will inform everyone before starting to pump the coin, I will also like to join that community as in this time I need that service to earn from altcoins.

You don't think there's an outside possibility that the newsletter is another way of duping people outside their inner circle?
13168  Economy / Goods / Re: Cheapest Price in the deal - Banggood 10th anniversary SALE on: August 29, 2016, 09:31:19 PM
What's the deal with refunds if nothing arrives or the item turns out to be a pile of crap? A couple of friends of mine have had junk arrive or not at all from banggood.
13169  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKcoin - illegal business/money laundering - Judge rules on: August 29, 2016, 09:27:45 PM

i have been seeing this topic being bumped from now and then and yet i don't see anything happening to Okcoin the site is still up and running, and the exchange volume is still high.

if the Judge has ruled against them why are they still active?!!

I believe it was a civil case and they probably got fined. Case closed. If it was criminal then there'd be more squealing on here.
13170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PumpTeam.Net - Elite Group of Pumpers on: August 29, 2016, 09:21:31 PM
I don’t have very good experience with pump team. I heard about it in the same way you heard (yobit trollbox). I think next pump was scheduled after 4 hours, I logged in before 10 minutes, waited for times to finish and timer stopped but nothing happened (actually someone told on trollbox that xyz coin is selected for pump) and I decided to notice instead of investing and it increased by 5 satoshi and then decreased by 10 to 20 satoshi in next 2 hours. Someone said Pumpteam is poor but honest, I would say they are unclear too.

Um, I think that's kind of the point. You're supposed to fall for their hype so they can prey on you. People like this do not make the world, or crypto, a better place.

https://blog.blockchain.com/2016/08/29/an-update-on-thunder-on-chain-settlement-or-claim-all-the-things/

So it seems all this payment channely type stuff may not be quite as straightforward as everyone expects.
13172  Economy / Speculation / Re: We'll be at 10,000+ by 2026 on: August 29, 2016, 11:57:01 AM
when that will hapen i will eat my shoes for sure lol.

Ok. We need to find someone who'll escrow your shoe for the appropriate period of time. Make sure it's a tasty one.

Sod Average Joe. He's a twat and a dullard. He'll end up following on if the properly switched on people choose to feed it to him eventually.

Have you checked here? - https://www.nomoreransom.org/

it's possible you could get the keys for free but i've no idea how comprehensive it is.
13175  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Need Goods from UK on: August 28, 2016, 08:01:57 PM
Have you by any chance asked them whether they'd consider accepting Bitcoin? It's a rare thing in the UK but Cex, which is a huge high street second hand goods chain and not cex.io, accepts Bitcoin through Coinbase.

And you may struggle to find an escrow who wants to directly accept the posted bars. I assume most of them want to keep it virtual only.
13176  Economy / Goods / Re: CHEAP CIGARETTES! on: August 28, 2016, 07:49:09 PM
Yes i do have also rolling tobacco

Can you get your hands on Golden Virginia? That happens to be my slow suicide of choice.
13177  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to sell Bitcointalk account? on: August 28, 2016, 10:44:06 AM
People spending months to farm/sell their account which costs ~50$? Poor people. Instead they could get fking job and earn much much more.

Talking sense is not allowed in this forum. This is a place where people spend 19 hours a day clicking faucets for $1 or less 'because it's free'.
13178  Other / Archival / Re: Would you keepuse Bitcoin if government says bitcoin is illegal in your country? on: August 28, 2016, 10:37:13 AM
Is anyone here thinking this through? It would mean there'd be no exchanges and no payment processors. Even if it were legal in your neighbouring country, no business would deal with you in the same way that no one from NY state can use most services.

Even for drugs that's of little use unless you're buying from abroad.
13179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 28, 2016, 10:02:50 AM
Why am I so old and cynical? Why do I miss all the train? Why? Cry

People want their gains. If daddy is too lazy and clapped out to get out of his armchair and play then they'll descend on anything and go for it. I really, really didn't foresee this sharp a divide happening a couple of years ago.

13180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 27, 2016, 08:17:43 PM
In fact if Bitcoin splits into 2 valid coin chains in the future that have to compete for the world's attention, I may finally walk away from Bitcoin forever and never look back. At that point I think many will throw in the towel.

Yeah. I probably would too. It's one thing for a crappy alt to do it, I don't think either Bitcoin would come out of it smelling too good. Your average regulator and business would probably forever strike off all crypto from their consider list as well.
