Does someone know how does the "Buy one get one free" work re customs clearance? I wonder how the value will be declared as there will be two shipments and only one payment.

50:50 is essentially a good estimate and what we use on our projection for our buyers and group buyers. Once you get shipping confirm you can speak to them directly to prepare. DHL is pretty easy to communicate with.

If you can afford to drop $150k on gear, you can probably afford to drop another $10k on electric.

Just a couple BTC's anyway, right? What are the probabilities for 1 PH solo?

1550  for 14500 hash

1550 seems high or is just my novice assumption?

Nice idea, I'm actually holding off on the s7's as I'm waiting for bull to power them up for -ckpool. Maybe my impatience will overwhelm me though. Still need more exhaust though ...

Ok for those curious on shipping. I initiated wire transfer last monday, payment confirmation from inno thursday, shipping info received friday, hit customs over weekend, DHL sent me a text asking me to Pay $35 customs fee, shipment set up for wednesday. You have to sign for it, or go on line and print a signature page to tape to your door if you're not going to be home.

So all in all 8 business days from order to receipt of 1st unit. Keep in mind there could be other issues depending on country, logistical errors, etc. YMMV

hey dude, I wonder your residence.. I mean you wrote that 35$ of custom fees. I live in Turkey and here we pay %18 of vat for the miners equipment. so 35$ seemed very low to me.

also I wanted to ask you about your strategy with a9. I bought one two weeks ago and I'm planning to buy 3 more. how much equipment do you have right now? are you planning to expand with the current market situation.

cheers.

US customs is only about 3% but still very low for us to. Innosilicons price has dropped slightly as well. Be careful buying with bitcoin or litecoin their exchanges rates aren't so great.

Anyone seen the sem liquid immersion cooling board for the 841 blades?
I am really curious if they make these available for the new 7nm hashboards as well.
IF they do, i definately go for a liquid setup and push the max out of the new 7nm tech. (depending on price naturally...)

Any news about the release date yet?

I thought people were already customizing liquid cooling like GPUs for these things, not necessarily immersion. Oh course I can't find pictures or a link right now.

Well one can dream. I'll probably shit my pants if we triple in a day.

Woah, did we just double? Awesome hashing everyone!!

So whose idea was it to tank the exchange some more? Bitcoin's price drop in the last ten days has cancelled out all my sales revenue from the last three months, right before I needed it for the next project.

Patience I suppose.  .. .. power bill will be looming soon for me.

Wasn't there some dumb mt gox move again?
1331  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Dollemizer Firmware ASICBOOST Comming! [custom s9, s9i, t9 Firmware upgrade] on: August 07, 2018, 10:05:09 PM
Its been common knowledge for YEARS not to mess with bitmains firmware yet you people are bricking your units left and right for no good reason at all. Pushing these machines past the rated hash rate decreases efficiency and eats away at any extra profits you think you are squeezing out of the machine.

Just plug your miner in and run it the way it was built to run. Stop being stupid and letting greed take you down a wrong path.

It's weird. Sometimes the hard way is the best way to learn. Asics aren't gpu's their CPU's that will burn your house down. Enjoy.

Always love me a fanatic post though. Need people like you around. Balance in the force and what not.

I love how a thread not even completed has two pages of comments. Exciting to know people are watching. No pressure philipma. Wink
1333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 851 on its way. on: August 07, 2018, 09:38:37 PM
That's most likely because the Controller in your existing chain of 841s is running pre-851 software.

The 841s and the 851s should work on a Controller that is running post-851 software, as the Controller software for the 851 seems to have retained the code needed to support the 841s.

Simple solutions to simple problems.
1334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: August 07, 2018, 09:31:16 PM
The problem is that even if you mine at subzero temperatures and the miner itself runs cool not needing high fanspeed, the PSU that's built into these still runs its fans flat out and they're those horrible little 40mm fans. Nothing can quieten that part down no matter how low speed you run the miner.

Yea, you could run off an desktop atx which is "home friendly" but the sound of 120mm's will still be loud at 30% then you're downclocking considerably.

-ck, what would be the best way to change payment address? Just flat out? ramp up small hash then swap everything? Or does it not matter with your pool design?

I've been thinking about this as well.  My plan is to run up the my current address until it's in the payout list, then switch my miners to the new address.

That shouldn't leave anything on the old address when the next block hits.

Kind of where I'm thinking to. Might get the pdu for second 240/30a i've been waiting to use with new units. And use the s7 to ramp up and swap? Since I only have a medium hash rate here

Just switch everything whenever you want to, but do not lose the keys to the old address for it will likely get a payout at some stage still.

Nm lol thank you both.

Oh, btw. -ckpool is my personal choice of pool. Has nothing to do with mfb as we do not farm/mine as a company. Just to clear up anything for everyone.

Is there any way to cut the noise/heat of a T2T? Thanks for any help. Looked the internet but not much found.

I mine at home but have them in the garage. Sealed a solid door, even popped the trim off to do so, sound dampening panels, etc. The sound bothers the shit out of wife. Even myself at times. I don't want to do much to the machines, I want to power up and let them mine. Repair is very inconvenient for small miners.

Hope you figure it out. Best.
