This should go without saying, but I feel compelled to say it. Beware of 3rd party apps. They can easily contain Trojans and other malware. It's probably best not to use anything until trusted community members have looked over the code and verified it as safe.
Even our beta code, I would keep a separate wallet with just a few coins in it to try out the darksend with. Just as a principle (it's closed source until finished) and because it's beta. I'm happy to help out testing the beta, but will be cautious with how much I'm moving around.

Cant see any DarkSend button, what am I missing? The button is in another window, the send window/tab It's a checkmark box defaulted to use darksend Yes, as been said, they are very popular, and probably with good reason, but it's not healthy for one entity to have more than 50% of the hash, so it was removed.... for now. I'm sure we're all glad this pool owner is with us, but people are not self regulating yet. Can't mine this  sph-sgminer (v4.1.0) is missing zlib1.dll sgminer says -a is an unrecognized option. If i delete "-a X11" all my shares are rejected (share above target) You just need the zlib1.dll in your sgminer folder (same location as the exe). Be CAREFUL where you get it though, get it from github, or some trusted source. It's a big .dll for inserting malware! Sit tight, holders.
Auroracoinscam will soon to coming to a crashing hault (it's already being deemed illegal by the government), so we should be getting the mining and pricing attention we deserve soon.
please don't bring this to our thread. I'm sure the developers and most of us wish them luck. Also, it is false to say that Auroracoin is illegal in Iceland. They have had and economic meltdown and have made it illegal for their currency to leave the country, so buying crypto from outside the country is illegal. Big difference. what is the thing that makes my cards running like 20 Celsius colder? why cant every coin use this?

Is DarkCoin/ DarkSend completely anonymous? This is a blunt question and I'm not trying to troll. I hear a lot of back and forth with this, with lots of tech talk I don't really understand.
From what I can tell, it seems that even with DarkSend, its simply harder, but not impossible to trace it. I've even hear this from DarkSend supporters, with one saying, vaguely
"yeah, not impossible to trace, esp for small operations like police, banks, hackers, etc. But the NSA could prob trace it if they wanted"
I'm not saying that not good enough. That would be a step in the right direction, but represents merely a head step in the technological arms race. If police departments wanted an easy way to trace any crypto, couldn't a private enterprise specialize in doing just that in a cost competitive way, and offer it as an affordable service?
When eduffield has it finished, it will be very hard to trace. However, as he says, it's all shades of grey, not black and white. The idea behind darksend is to give a person reasonable privacy. It was never intended to be a drug laundering currency though we can't control what people do with it. What it should be when completed, is safe and functional (doesn't lose your money), useful (quick payments) and private (people can't look into your "checkbook" to see where your money comes from or goes to). I would think it is MUCH more private than a bank account. And though senators in congress are talking crap, they're just too stupid to realize the government has no jurisdiction over crypto coins. It can't have jurisdiction, nothing is enforceable by them. They can't practically do anything about it. However, once changed over to fiat, it must be accounted for, and taxes paid. So keep receipts for your trades, you can deduct cost of currency from capital gains. If this is done, nothing illegal has happened. |

As much as I like this and want it to succeed, the amount of protection darksend gives you is currently rather pathetic. Take a look at this ( http://explorer.darkcoin.io/tx/b9d3850d62e0a6c460e220713710fda602d5daea4771af1bbb397b35e3b6eb5f ), or any other darksend transaction, and you'll see it's very easy to pick apart. The first input clearly goes to the first two outputs, as they're the only ones less than the input, and the second output can be seen to be the change address, as it has too high precision for darksend. The second input goes to the fourth and sixth outputs, as they add up to the input - 0.01, and no other combination adds up to an appropriate amount, and yet again, which address is the change address can be seen by the precision. This leaves the third input to the third and fifth outputs, which add up to 0.1 less than their input. Eduffield's idea of pooling only same amounts is excellent and would fix this, but in the current state this just isn't effective at all. It's actually not as pathetic as you think it is. It's only the foundation (with structure installed for the other aspects, that are not turned on yet). We're just trying to stress test the foundation of what is to become a full darksend implementation. People are getting a bit too vocal in their excitement and though it is indeed a huge step forward, it's far from complete. |

b) Why was block reward halving removed 4 days ago in main.cpp?
I only run cryptocurrency code that I compile myself from source, so if the source isn't available then I am getting off this bus. Y'all still on board let me know how the ride turns out.
No, and it won't be until it's out of beta and all the kinks are worked out. We don't want other coins implementing this code and having troubles with it then blaming our developer. However, there is a regular wallet you can download from source. It doesn't have the darksend features in it, but only people who want to help debug darksend should be downloading the beta wallet. It's not ready for prime time yet. |

I'm currently mining DRK with my Radeon 6670 (not the fastest but it works) I'll tell you in the morning how many coins I mine with it, I have a funny feeling it may take a while to get the £70 for my card back, lol. I didn't buy it to earm money, I bought it to learn how to mine, as I like to set challenges for myself, this one did make me scratch my head too. I'm currently getting 350Kh with it,not sure if that is good? G takes you into an edit mode, then I then start with 8 and go up from there, hit enter twice and wait a few minutes. Note the hashrate, then increase to 9, 10 11 and also I suggest you join a pool so you can see more 'actual' hash which can be different (dashboard of pool) I use lotterymining 'cause a great guy runs it and we have a weekly lottery from 1/2 the fees (which are only 1%, essentially 1/2%) See the first page for pools |

Hey guys. I have 4 280x running on phm sgminer 4.1 Yesterday I had about 8.2MH/s and I had to restart it this morning and now I'm getting only 7.3MH/s I can't seem to get it back to what it was. Anyone happen to know what I am doing wrong? Thank you.
Did you adjust the intensity after starting it last time and not update the start.bat or equivalent file? |

I appreciate Anonymint's commentary, though I disagree with his assessment. What I look forward to the most is Eduf's response. The "pounce on the detractor with hate" is more akin to a political faction's response than a math project... I've experienced a bit of that myself... ;-)
For this coin - perhaps more than any other out there right now, given its intended purpose -criticism is more than welcome. His is frankly exceptional and the best I've seen thus far in this thread. Having said that... In fairness to those attacking AnonyMint, offering unequivocal dismissal in the same breath as plugging one's own alternative (or, at least, plugging the fact that he is working on an alternative) seriously smacks of douchebaggery, and he should have expected to be called out on it. Sorry, I have to disagree, the guys comments have been haughty from the start and grew into self promotion. Still, I too like the questions being thrown out there by someone who at least sounds knowledgeable and have been happy with eduffield's responses. |

Hi mate, I returned my graphics card, I bought A Radeon 6670, installed in along with the drivers. I tried to follow your commands but I get an error message saying: cp: cannot stat ‘include/*.h’: No such file or directory Any idea what's wrong? I just want to say, and let me tell you, I've done it myself, you will never mine enough coins to pay for that card. I bought 2 antminers 2 months ago when I first dove into cryptos, and I'll never see my money back on those, LOL. Now, you might be like me and want to learn above all else, that's cool too! But if you want to make an investment, buy some bitcoin, then buy darkcoin, it will be a better investment, but if you're a gamer, the card can be used for that as well, so it's cool. Finally, please someone correct me if I'm wrong, think you still need a 64 bit system to mine dark??? Otherwise, after the above post, another user added this info: If you run encrypted root, you'll be prompted with a framebuffer screen to input your password. Once you install these drivers, framebuffer will fail. It'll just be a blank screen and you'll wonder exactly how fucked you are because nothing is happening. Okay if you are saying this is for anonymity against everything except the very powerful entities such as the intelligence services of governments, then I can agree with you that your mixer probably adds anonymity (but I reserve a caveat that I haven't see your code nor all the details of your design in order to know if it might actually be worse, i.e. the security hole I mentioned above and ability of the I guess the pool to decrypt the packets).
But I am exactly concerned about the ability of governments to take over crypto-currencies due to the fact they can identify the owners of the coins. So for me, I am not satisfied with your design.
That's all he ever promised, and all I would ever want. My checkbook, closed. You are not ahead of my crypto on mixing. But mine is not released.
