I believe it's looking for a file it expects to find from the github repository

https://github.com/fedoracoin-dev/fedoracoin/tree/master-0.9/src/qt/locale

The locale/bitcoin_ach.ts is there, but the build process should make a .qm from it and for that it needs lrelease.

Compiling Windows-qt x86 in XUBUNTU 14.04 VM using these instructions:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1080289.0

Everything works perfectly up to the very last step.

Error message:

Cool that you got so far. I googled a bit and your error sounds like the locale files have not been able to build. Check what kind of suffixes you see in the locale directory and also make sure you have lrelease from qt5 installed (qttools5-dev-tools).

Yes, then you are right, when your tx fees are multiples of the block reward that is certainly triggering multipools to mine that block and maybe the next few ones if their diff becomes low enough.

At the current diff you could probably keep the chain moving for much less money with a USB miner or two.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SBC] [SCRYPT] StableCoin The Story Continues! Join Our Community Coin Project on: July 07, 2016, 02:04:36 PM
I have been sending out transaction with a fee.  I looks like that is the only way for miners to generate a block on the blockchain.  The network hashrate is running at about 1000 Mh/s.  Is that how pools work?  They only generate a block if a transaction with a fee is broadcast on the network?

No a pending transaction doesn't make the chain move, while miners enjoy the fees for the transaction, but they are actually more after the block reward, the tx-fees are just a cream tip on top of the block reward.
That said, the SBC chain was simply stuck for days and started to move again yesterday, coincidentally with your transaction. However the 1000Mh/s are way off, my node shows a diff of 0.59 and a hashrate of 4.5Mh/s.

If your fee was extremly high, I mean in the range of the block reward or parts thereof (say 10-50 SBC), this might have triggered a multipool to mine on SBC because it looked profitable to them when ther suddenly is a much higher reward at same diff.

1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: July 05, 2016, 09:36:25 AM
This is seriously confusing.  Which wallet is in sync with the explorer and the "new" chain?

I concede it got a bit of a mess lately but that's completely owned to unlucky circumstances. I understand testbug who maintains the OP has serious health conditions and therefor couldn't yet update OP and the block explorer at http://www.fedoracoin.xyz:3001.
I offered him to update the above BE but haven't heard back yet which I sincerely hope that is not a bad sign and just wish him to get well soon!

Nonetheless if there is no news from him, there needs to be a new ANN so that people don't get fooled into using the wrong github link and outdated windows wallet. I'd say lets wait until we have the windows wallet, hopefully this week. By then either this OP should be updated or a new one created and the board mods should be asked to lock this one with the last post being a link to the new one.
Maybe then a new OP should be maintained by a special role account to which more than one person has access.

What do others think about it?

For the time being, here are the current links:

Current Github sources: https://github.com/fedoracoin-dev/fedoracoin
Current BE: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/ https://tipsbe.netcraft.ch/
Exchanges with updated wallet: http://novaexchange.com/
As far as I am aware all pools listed in the OP that still have TIPS listed have updated already.

P.S.: Regarding windows wallet: each small donation to Ahmed certainly speeds up things...
1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: July 04, 2016, 09:15:04 AM
Ok so I just bought a few million tips from hellion on nova exchange.
Then last night I try to send some of them to Cryptopia wallet and they dissappeared from nova wallet and never appeared at the cryptopia wallet.  No transaction pending or anything.  Can someone please tell me what is going on?  Did I buy bogus tips from Hellion on Nova.  Someone said it is safe then what happened?  Is there a block explorer.  I am asking cryptopia these questions too.   Help!

txid:  6f08e11c6f55b2cf881e29e2adcdfbc776fa105c84cf6a7f6534af96b44f078a

it shows as confirmed

Research zapwallettxes on Google.

That won't help. The tx is confirmed on the correct chain but Cryptopia is sitting on the fork and refuses to update since one of the forks lost them ~60mio. They have clearly stated they won't update, which is understandeable to a certain degree. What is not understandeable is that they allow people still to deposit when the market is closed. Pretty naughty.

If you updated to the new wallet, please DO NOT DEPOSIT TO CRYPTOPIA OR BTER. Novaexchange is the only exchange running the current wallet and Alcurex is considering it.

1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin $$ IMPROVED Halving | KGW Fix Update!!! on: July 03, 2016, 11:49:37 AM
Dev is not answer so is there someone who can help with USDe issue?

Hello from alcurEX.
I have problem to get transferred coins.

In new wallet I generate new address GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr
Coins from alcurex.org has sent to this address.
Any way wallet have no balance even address GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr is in our wallet address list.

What I mean is:
Old wallet show transaction sent and confirmed, but address in new wallet not got it.

Code:
Status: 150 confirms
Date: 12.6.2016 22:30
To: GLWN15etaoP6nF6FWyqwdNqH2ssz2NTwrr
Debit: -20032867.09 USDE
Transaction fee: -2.50 USDE
Net amount: -20032869.59 USDE
Transaction ID: b63673e42a644525c3465ee54b4c6c98b53424639121b9de22561095cef57352

We are forced to keep USDe market paused until this issue is solved.

Please check if you have the same peers on both wallets and make sure blockheight is the same for both.

To be sure I would delete the blockchain on both wallets, add the below nodes and start with -rescan on both.

Here is what my node currently shows as active peers:
Code:
146.0.32.101:54449
45.79.197.174:54449
184.166.75.160:54449
91.153.109.149:54449

It's a pity there is no active block explorer to check against...

My current block height is # 1268506 right now and blocks are found regulary so the chain is moving fine AFAICS.

0.36 of 1 BTC was paid.

Ahmed

Thanks for confirming my payment Ahmed, the above amount comes from the following donations which I have rounded up to 0.36:

cryptoid: 0.0506
myc066: 0.0504
plast555: 0.0568
psycodad: 0.05
<unknown>: 0.1
smarterhash: 0.05
============
BTC       0.3578

So I have released all funds I have received from the community plus my part to Ahmed.

Again, we talked about 1BTC for Ahmed initially so there is still a gap - but since Ahmed delivered very quickly, please send future donations directly to him, resp. to Ahmeds new address:
Code:
12tSquEBTgs2WsHXgh5kKD8hNwvsrvo7o1
(Ahmed, please confirm here this is your address, so that people that want to donat can be sure you get the money)

Do not send anymore donations for wallet development to me, if you want to donate send it directly to Ahmed.

I am not sure yet if Ahmed will be able to provide us a windows wallet, but I am certain that the *pling* of incoming satoshis to his wallet will make him try harder  Grin

We should have a windows wallet by end of next week if things work out as expected, but that's not a promise just an estimation.

psychodad.

so - do we want to formally request donations to buy our way onto Yobit.net

I think it would be a great thing - Yobit gets a lot of eyeballs and volume.

Cryptopia said they lost 60mio coins on one of the last attacks and they will not re-enable TIPS. No reply yet from Blockexplorers.

So let's try to get on Yobit. What would you aim for (0.1 or 0.5) ?

I vote for .5 - I'll donate .1 to get things started

Thank you, I'll give 0.05 if we can get commitment for the 0.5, else I'd be happy to go 50/50 with you for the basic listing @0.1.

As soon as I know more regarding windows wallet, I'll post.
@Ahmed: Any chance that, if the community shows it didn't forget that you saved their TIPS for 0.36 instead of the 1BTC you asked for (hint-hint), you would be able to supply a compiled wallet for windows timely?

Any donators willing to cough up a lil bounty for the windows wallet? Mind you, there is no dev as in "owner/creator of the coin" here, we are all doing this from our pocket money for no other benefit than keeping TIPS alive for you all.

Ok, for start I will make a free request on Yobit. But i need some info (I am not programmist, and some questions will seems silly) Quontity of TIPS blocks? Are unlimited? Version of secp256k1? (if any) Dev language? Official blockexplorer is http://www.fedoracoin.xyz:3001/?

I guess with block number they mean current blockheight, which is at 1299000 right now. For the money supply we would need a working block explorer, but the figures shown on both at the moment are still pretty accurate.
It includes secp256k1, but I honestly don't know what they mean by old or new version. Maybe just select one and let them find out what they want. For dev language I'd propose english.

There are 2 block explorers in the OP, both are notified they should update but haven't so far.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 29, 2016, 05:53:47 PM
May I suggest the following:

1. Update the Source code page and indicate this is a mandatory fork and specify which block number it took effect at.
2. Start a new Tips thread, use the existing graphics and explain why the fork was necessary.
3. Contact BTER and NOVA exchange and implore them to switch to the new wallet and block chain.
4. I've already contacted Yobit about a listing and I'll contact Alcurex - because for all we know BTER was in on the scam taking place in the old wallet
5. We can also contact Bleutrade - they're receptive to new coins.
6. Get the Windows Wallet done asap - there are people mining in my pool, but unless they can compile the linux code, they have no place to transfer their coins to.

any other ideas would be helpful because we now have a shiny new wallet and block chain that's not susceptibel to the Orphan hack, but no place to trade the coins.

We also need a Block Explorer and I can take the lead on getting that done right now.

However - I think a new Thread is the most important.

who want to take responsibility for some of these things?

thanks

Thanks for your suggestions and again thanks for your efforts and work put into bringing TIPS back on exchanges.

1.
We can't update the old repo as only invisibel had access to it and he can't be reached. The new repo is up2date and I hope that either teillagory or testbug update the OP very soon.
Regarding the blocknumber this took effect: There is no hard number as I understood Ahmed, ACP kicks in when necessary, eventually causing a forge. The worst thing that owner of the old wallet can experience is getting onto a fork caused by the attacker.

2.
That is something testbug and teillagory who maintain the OP should decide. There are currently already a bunch of TIPS threads, beginning a new one won't help the occasional users to find the right one (check how many post in the old threads). But I see your point of starting from scratch at this point.

3.
As I understand this has been done already and NOVA even already listed TIPS.

4.
I will poke halibit with a tiny stick to see if we can get him to trust the TIPS chain again. I am pretty sure Yobit wants somebody to cough up money first, but its definitely worth a try. I also do not count on BTER to update their wallet, their no-withdrawal policy got really suspect over time.

5.
The more the better.

6.
Agreed, we are trying hard, though the old wallet is still usable. It is most important that miners/pools and exchanges use the new version.

Ok
psycodad I have a few ideas. We need to contact with TIPS pool owners. I have not see yet owners of pooltobe (PCFIL), Hash-to-coins and Multipool.us. I suppose that thise gues can help us if they will update they wallets to a new version and will make links on they pools mainpages to this thread, talking, that TIPS have an updated source code and sending TIPS to BTER is unreliably. Also, what pools of TIPS do you know? We need to contact them. Due to this manipulations we forced BTER to update wallet or close TIPS deposit. This actions decrease deposits on bter.
Also, for good aim, may be people will start collecting donations for Yobit?
And for new exchange may be will contact with poloniex?

Thanks for your ideas. I have contacted poolto.be on IRC, multipool.us via email and hash-to-coins.com via their contact form.
bitcoinpool.us seems not to have TIPS mineable anymore, so they should probably removed from the OP. I only know the pools from the OP.
smarterhash and mining-dutch.nl are active here, so I am sure they have updated.

Please feel free to lead the campaign to add TIPS to yobit, as I said before the more exchanges the better. However I can't offer to handle that myself at the moment.
Poloniex would be awesome, but I'd say lets get things straightened out and a stable network first for some time before we aim for big exchanges like Poloniex or Bittrex.

Regarding block explorers: we have actually two, but as it looks they have not updated to the new src yet. If you want to setup another one that certainly is highly welcome.

1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FedoraCoin (TiPS) - New Dev team: Fedoracoin Foundation on: June 29, 2016, 04:38:38 PM
As promised, here is an update on the qt-wallet:

I have added all existing TIPS logos to the new qt-wallet and set the wallet version to 2.0.0 everywhere. The qt-wallet builds fine on Debian 8 but since it requires qt5 it won't build on Debian 7.

If somebody is able to build for Windows, the repo is now ready for a builld I think.

Core hasn't changed, except it gives now also the proper version number, but that's really only cosmetic and doesn't affect operation.

Regarding exchanges: Thanks guys for all your efforts on notifying them and pushing them to install the new wallet. I will talk to halibit to see if we can get him back into the boat.
Has anybody notified Cryptopia btw?

Regarding the question on which block the change happened: According to Ahmed, both wallets use the same chain as long as there is no attack. As soon as an attack is seen, ACP should kick in and it might lead to a fork for those with the old wallet. Which I read as: Now the attacker can only convince the users of the old wallet to "ride" his chain, all users with the new wallet will not follow the attackers chain.

Again: Please update now to the new wallet from https://github.com/fedoracoin-dev/fedoracoin if you haven't done so yet!
If you can contribute a windows build, please do so. Ahmed is trying to find somebody but so far without success.

Is there a windows wallet on the way?
Can't keep the coins on the pools forever.....  Roll Eyes Huh

We are working out some cosmetical quirks before the src is ready for a windows build but that should be done shortly. Also we are still looking to find somebody to compile the windows wallet then.
Will post an update tomorrow.

Are you trying to compile on Debian 7?
Try Debian 8, the g++ there supports this command line option.

It's Debian 8 already,  I'll try it on a Ubuntu machine

Not trying to be a smartass, but I just checked again, compiles fine on my Jessie with no third party packages and the g++ there supports '-std=c++14':
