1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can XRP move back to $2.8? If so, how long will it take? on: January 11, 2018, 01:02:53 PM
the ripply pump this month was one of a kind. it was sudden and big, not the biggest though. and there were a lot of hype around it which was helping the pump to go on and become bigger and bigger.

but the main aspect of this pump was crushed when everyone started talking about how centralized ripple is and that was the final nail in the coffin. the dump began and there was no way for the pump to continue.

if the dump never came or if it could have been small we could have expected a bigger pump like last time but no longer.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or ETH in 2018 on: January 11, 2018, 12:45:29 PM
maybe a third option!

ETH had its fun this year and got pumped a lot. and usually altcoins only stay active for a limited time before a new altcoin comes along and takes their place.
it is hard to say which one at this point, there are a lot of them with the potential for sure. Waves is an example. even coins like IOTA and also my favorite ByteBall which added smart contracts recently. or maybe a brand new coin with same hypes.

when it comes to altcoins try not to limit yourself to only 1 or 2.
1323  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia whats up? on: January 11, 2018, 12:34:31 PM
you need to ask them why they did it but my guess is that it was because of lack of interest. which is the case in 90% of the times when they remove a market or a base currency for markets. people are mostly trading with bitcoin and rarely pay much attention to other markets.

if you check the volume of other markets (USDT for example) you can see that majority of them have not even been active for days and most of them don't have minimal volume.
1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is asset, not currency. on: January 11, 2018, 12:24:16 PM
why did you create this misleading title? when you are quoting someone you should include the name of the source.

and who cares what a National Bank of some place is saying about what bitcoin is. they are defining it as an asset so that they can deal with it easier. most of the times it is a matter of taxation since they can't exactly tax a currency!

what matters is how people are going to use bitcoin and so far it has been a currency apart from last 2 months and hopefully this changes back to normal low fee transactions soon too.
1325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin drops $2,000 in value as South Korea announces planned trading ban on: January 11, 2018, 12:18:22 PM
The value of bitcoin plunged 13.5% in the early hours of Thursday after news hit that South Korea is planning to ban cryptocurrency trading.

the same news came out last year and by that time the drop that happened was was about 30%.
considering how many FUD is around these days and how people are still staying away from bitcoin because of all the bubble FUD, i say 10-12% drop is a great achievement for bitcoin.
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: January 10, 2018, 01:52:31 PM
Just checked the price now, almost $800/GB, i never knew it was this highly priced.

yeah, that is the thing about Byteball! it has always been among the high price cryptocurrencies. if i am not mistaken it has always been in at least top 10!

but since it doesn't have ridiculous amount of supply like ETH, XRP, IOTA,... it does not have a high market cap so it stays under the radar most of the times.
1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple Price: A Continuous Fall from the Heights or Just a Slow Down? on: January 10, 2018, 01:42:10 PM
it starts with a huge dump when the whales get the hell out of the coin and then followed by a recovery because there are still newbies thinking they got a good deal, then followed by a slow and agonizing drop down slowly losing value as time passes by until the next pumping phase starts and it gains back some part of what it lost and we will be back where we are now Wink
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now Bitcoin Cash Hardfork? on: January 10, 2018, 01:27:33 PM
i am sure at some point they are going to run out of the names they can call these forks. it started with precious metals (gold, silver, diamond,...) then followed into Date and Time (new year, future...) and now we are down to edibles (candy).

what category is going to be next?
1329  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maximize the cold hard fuckin cash you put in your pockets every day on: January 10, 2018, 01:22:01 PM
it depends on what you have invested in!
when you have the 203,560.00 USD invested in gold for example, you have your money in a rather safe place which won't disappear the next day.
but if you have the 203,560.00 USD invested in something like Pandacoin or ethereum or ripple then of course it is going to crash the next day that the bubble bursts.

but i agree that you need to get the profit out at some point. specially when you have invested in altcoins. i specifically find "portfolio" dumb when it comes to altcoins Wink
1330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook & Google creating its own Cryptocurrency! on: January 10, 2018, 01:14:59 PM
If this really does happen - it will be of so much hype..but I wonder such "conventional" organization will like the idea of de-centralization.

that's the thing, they don't like the idea of decentralization which is why they started creating their own altcoin which is a centralized crytocurrency. it is a weird move in my opinion and it will fail for 90% of these companies that  try to do it because it is too centralized!

it is not just a centralized versus decentralized thing, it is the limitation that it brings. if every company starts creating its own separate payment system then people either have to have 100 types of money in their pocket or not use any of them at all.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is STRATIS surging? on: January 09, 2018, 11:51:29 AM
i haven't checked the news and some people are saying something about ICO platform here which may very well be true but at the end of the day the first thing that is the cause of any big surge in an altcoin is pump. don't look much further than that.
there are sometimes some reason like this news for it and sometimes purely pump groups moving money from one coin to another.
1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help newbies: how to buy, hodl and sell altcoins on: January 09, 2018, 11:44:12 AM
there aren't that many places that accept credit cards, i think it may have something to do with the fact that there are so many scams with CCs! check out cex.io
and there are even less places, nearly nowhere, that accepts PayPal because it is stupid how easy it is to scam with PayPal!

as for holding, there are multi wallets like JAXX with a lot of bugs and issues, there are hardware wallets like Trezor which will cost you and finally there are exchanges themselves. each have risks and benefits. for example keeping on exchange means you never miss any dumping chance ever because your alts are ready to be dumped always.

currency_id: 2 (LTC), txid: b5af6e8b156ae5bb554ace8d214c1adda696ff70bcd04e6b1382b3424ce6c774
I sent 8.01880219 LTC to LgSCEMU5sGWfehhwfAn4umx4U76ZmW2ZHr on 09.01.2018 12:17
LTC blockchain shows the coins in your wallet (it's already more than 30 confirmations ) but in my Yobit's wallet I see zero LTC.

then you need to contact Yobit support. there is nothing we can do for you here.
make sure you see that LTC address in your Yobit wallet, take a screenshot from it if you can. and then make a ticket with the screenshot of the address in your wallet and the transaction ID and ask them to correct this mistake.

i had this issue once, it took about a week but it was solved eventually...
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bcash will die in 2018 and Bitcoin will be even more valuable on: January 09, 2018, 11:19:54 AM
bitcoin cash is not going to die just because it is shit (by definition or just opinion). if that happens then 90% of the altcoins need to die also because they too are shit. altcoins are for speculation and money-making and that will keep them alive even with 0 usage.

in case of bitcoin cash it has been acting like a parasite to be honest and parasites don't go away as long as the host they are feeding of is not strong. and at this point with the huge backlog bitcoin is not at its strongest position. and that opens way for all these altcoins including BCH to feed.
1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cash Out ! on: January 09, 2018, 11:10:17 AM
I would love to know how each and everyone of the ones that don't HODL do to turn their bitcoins into cash.

turning bitcoin into cash (in other words selling) doesn't mean you are not HODLing bitcoin! you can sell and still be a hodler. that is of course if you have anything more than $10 worth of bitcoin for instance.
you can always sell something to satisfy your need or reduce the risk or something like that.

Please share your method here.

either an exchange or localbitcoins.com or any other place like that which you can find someone close to you and sell "locally" so to speak.
1336  Other / Off-topic / Re: Everybody is joining.. on: January 09, 2018, 11:03:14 AM
those small coins are getting pumped.
think about what you are saying a little bit. someone who is new to this world is not going to find coins that are worth so little and are at the bottom of every single list and then start investing in them. that sounds such a random behavior!

the market is growing with a lot of newbies, there is no denying that though. but they are investing in the big names and lose money in most altcoins they invest in.
1337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum vulnerability found today! on: January 07, 2018, 01:15:53 PM
This is great. It points out at how SPV wallets are a waste of time and why you should run your own full Bitcoin client to process your own transactions and put your coins in cold storage.

This also points out at how big blockers are terrorists against Bitcoin, as they want to get the power away from the users running full Bitcoin clients and they want everyone using nodes only except corporations.

Roger Ver and co are the biggest threats to Bitcoin.

dude take a chill pill Grin

this has nothing to do with Electrum being an SPV wallet. it is only because the JSONRPC interface of electrum were not using encryption. even if Electrum were a full client the same thing could have happened.

1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most centralized coins? on: January 07, 2018, 01:11:12 PM
What are the most centralized coins in the crypto world? Is there a list or something like that? Would be very interesting to know... Do you know one?
I think Ripple is the most centralized coin but I dont care as long as it is profitable for me.
Haha right. Its what most people think. But we are making the banks super rich and they are laughing with billions while we are earning few hundreds.

"profit" is what majority of the people who have ever invested in any of the altcoins ever care about. and things only get worse as we go on because the more scammy altcoins are created, people are giving up on altcoins in general and only care about the profit.

and centralized coins with banks with lots of money behind them will benefit from this because they pump no matter what and people invest in those.
1339  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2,4 million in 30 days ? on: January 07, 2018, 12:59:41 PM
every time for 40% profit on all your bet

this is the problem with every newcomer to trading altcoins and this is why they also go high like this!
everyone thinks it is a bet, or gambling or whatever. and as long as you think like this you will be losing a lot of money sooner or later.

your first step is to stop thinking like this and start looking for some real potential in the coins and start looking for pumps. yes it is possible to turn $100 to $10 million even but you will never be do it as a starter who has never made a trade before.
try having smaller goals first.
1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think it is good that ICOs keep coming frequently? on: January 07, 2018, 12:51:18 PM
of course it is not good but there is nothing can be done about it.
this is a free market which happens to be not-regulated and anybody with little knowledge or some small research can release their own shit and they do do that to make money out of thin air.
and it has turned the cryptocurrency scene into a joke. most people don't ever consider altcoins as a real thing. they simply ignore all of them because you keep seeing all these random useless projects and then see one or two even get big and enter the top 10 coins and fill the news!
