Perhaps The Pump could've done without taking place as the musky odour of desperation hangs around certain posters. All in good time, fellas.
13342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kim Dotcom Predict 2000$ per Bitcoin ??!! on: August 06, 2016, 04:28:42 PM

So what at most stages in history those who stood up to the establishment were considered Criminals "Washington, Gandhi, Mandela"  now ok Dotcom is not on the level off these guys but my point is, the ruling elite will paint anyone with a black brush who tries to change the way things are done.  TBH i am surprised he is still alive, he should get his Bitcache out ASAP.

So I guess I'm a statist bootlicker then because he sounds like a straightforward criminal to me. I don't think there'll be statues of him in the decades to come, apart from the ones he himself paid for. And I'm not talking about the file sharing bit.
13343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 06, 2016, 04:09:54 PM
And Wences Casares and the Winkies used an exchange run by an autist on a beach ball. Even if it was the only game in town at the time, I would've found another game.

Where's the info about that much Bitfinex volume being corporate? If it was then that's very stupid on their part. Even without the hack, it's pretty obvious to anyone that Bitfinex is not an organisation that's corporate grade.

36% for everyone? That might just be enough to quell the masses. Let's hope they keep on generating some income to pay people back.
13344  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 06, 2016, 03:34:28 PM

On reddit they say they have an upcoming announcement they will be making addressing how they will deal with compensating users. They apologise for missing deadline after deadline, and say they are doing a "final review" before making it. I bet they will make another apology tomorrow and say they are doing yet another "final review".

Well, it's possibly the most important decision they'll ever make so it makes sense to ponder it properly. At the same time they must be aware there are a lot of anxious people out there and should be taking that into account.

If I were them I'd probably chuck my computer in the sea and go on holiday but luckily I'm not.
13345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kim Dotcom Predict 2000$ per Bitcoin ??!! on: August 06, 2016, 03:04:33 PM

I wouldn't judge him based on his previous actions personally.

Really? In my experience people don't change. I suppose what has changed for him is that he's amassed a fortune, off the back of raping copyright holders, so no longer needs to defraud people directly.

I assume he'd still be contentedly doing that if he hadn't hit the jackpot.
13346  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex HACKED - funds stolen ! on: August 06, 2016, 02:52:54 PM

I mean local police. Not all customers lives in States.

The FBI will certainly be interested and they do have an awful lot of US customers. It was US regulators who fined them even though they're (likely to be) nowhere near the US. My local police are better equipped for chasing escaped sheep than online criminals.
13347  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex HACKED - funds stolen ! on: August 06, 2016, 02:46:24 PM
still nothing official?? I have around 100btc stuck there!

Call the police.

You'll probably have more fun contacting this lot - https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

A friend of mine was interviewed by the FBI, even though he was in the UK. I was dead jealous.
13348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 06, 2016, 02:32:19 PM
The BFX "hack" increasingly looks like an inside job, I wonder if those involved are on the run...
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitfinexs-ceo-seemingly-tried-start-ponzi-scheme/

That's not a very high quality website but it's hard to deny that this - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109285.0;all  is unsexy, but perhaps everyone was starting quasi ponzis back in the day.

There've been consistent mysteries and questions surrounding Bitfinex. No one seemed to care enough to bother clearing anything up. I wonder whether this situation is going to force out some answers.

13349  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex HACKED - funds stolen ! on: August 06, 2016, 01:59:20 PM
being a retard generation (Millennials) who doesn't understand basic business, compliance,  insurance and profit models, I expect Bitfinex to go away with that Smiley

until now, the police from Hong Hong, Interpol should have knocked at Bitfinex door IF some REAL complaints would have been made. as you can see, nobody is doing nothing then it's alright with that.

we are talking about 70 mil USD loss not 700K .... Smiley

Butbutbut, Bitcoin is on the internet so it's, like, special. Laws are soooo last century. Let the free market decide. And so on...
13350  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex Is This The Owner? on: August 06, 2016, 01:37:15 PM
Is he on the forum?
Maybe he will tell you to take down his profile pic and linkdin profile for security reasons. Roll Eyes

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4295

This is him. He hasn't been on here for a few months. If I were him I probably wouldn't be too into interacting with other users on here right now.
13351  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex Is This The Owner? on: August 06, 2016, 01:25:34 PM
It has always been confirmed as far as I know.

13352  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTer.com dont withdrawal ! on: August 06, 2016, 12:58:57 PM
That is true that Bter was hacked before. But it was long time ago in February or something. Since that time they recovered and were fully operational.
Since that time there is no news of them being attacked/hacked/having problems. If they really got targeted by hackers again then it is really grim time for crypto exchanges.

Today's volume was 69 BTC. That doesn't smack of fully operational or recovered. It's been dead for years now. I can't quite believe they're bothering to pay the hosting fees to keep it open unless they're just occasionally stealing customer funds.
13353  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: August 06, 2016, 12:46:42 PM
people here living in a fantasy world. tell me honestly, what's the point of talking about the price being $1,000,000 while the price can't even reach 0.1% of $1,000,000? having $1000 as price target for next year is good, but dreaming about anything higher than that makes no sense at this point. people need to realize that.

Everyone thrives on hopium. This joint would be awfully quiet if it was commonly acknowledged that BTC was a weed and crybaby who couldn't budge a piddling amount upwards without collapsing again.

And it's not going anywhere without some long term faith.
13354  Economy / Economics / Re: If there was no fiat where will BTC base its value? on: August 06, 2016, 12:27:27 PM
As long as there are governments, there will be currencies they control. They can demand taxes in that currency and nail you to the wall if you don't. Maybe there'll come a time when people have to resort to localfiat to obtain the money from their bitcoins to pay them but they're not going anywhere.

If there really wasn't fiat, there would have to be some type of commonly agreed unit of value otherwise the world wouldn't function.
13355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The pointlessness of terrorism on: August 06, 2016, 12:08:13 PM
Daesh's stated aim is to start war between the crackers and the Islams. Keep chipping away and eventually no average Muslim is going to feel very comfortable in any Western country, nor will the crackers.

That feeds into a nicely ignitable cycle and most people are far too stupid to see the path they're being steered down.

As for false flag stuff, I'm sure it has happened in the past but I find people who scream it every single time something occurs should go outside and get more fresh air.

13356  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTer.com dont withdrawal ! on: August 06, 2016, 11:44:03 AM

Have BTer.com problems? Are they hacked, too?

As your man above says, they lost thousands of coins and claimed to be hacked. They issued a new coin/bond type thing to repay people but the bter thread here is pretty much dead so most have given up.

You can read about it here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=956738.0;all

There is a little bit of volume on there, which amazes me, and you at least got a response from someone. I can't believe they still have any incentive to keep the site running. Assume your coins are gone but keep badgering them. You might get a result.
13357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think guys the hack bitcoin from bitfinex still not sold? on: August 06, 2016, 11:35:39 AM
it is not easy selling these stolen coins but i think the hacker has been trying to launder 1000BTC of it by disguising it as a giveaway and claim the 1000BTC with his alt account and then claim he has gained these coins fairly from a giveaway! a stupid idea i should add.

Nah. I think this has been debunked. The coins in that thread originated from another thief named Tradefortress who stole about 4000 coins a few years when he was running a wallet service and the mentally infirm thought it would be a great idea to deposit coins with an anonymous person in a far off land.

I've no idea what the motivation for that thread is. And you don't launder much by giving it away.
13358  Economy / Auctions / Re: Sellin this Account 1 satoshi starting bid on: August 06, 2016, 11:31:30 AM

Well people keep saying that but since whoever will buy this account probably will use it for just signature , even IF it gets red it will still work.

Aside from that , I don't think people red tag you if you sell your account anymore , that was back in the day. If you want you can sell your account. Noone gives a shit anymore.

Au contraire. I think people are getting ever more bothered by account sales. It's not slowing up.

And red trust excludes people from most sig campaigns. no one's interested in recruiting a poster with it. better to delete this thread and start again anonymously.
13359  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: August 06, 2016, 11:29:35 AM
Weird. It works absolutely fine for me.

scam accusations are here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

and this is an archived thread about it - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49383.0

by the looks of things it may be long gone.
