13361  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 16-Apr-2018] on: April 21, 2018, 09:19:47 AM
It has been about one week or a bit more that no new signature campaigns are available. The only two ongoing and still active seems 777coin and Bitvest.

Maybe the reason is the signature campaigns are not that effective compared to the cost they have on the company running them ?
13362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NO DEV FEE for all miners on: April 21, 2018, 07:09:21 AM
You are acussing one of the best programmers here , Claymore without providing any evidence at all. Based on how much he earns monthly from the fees I don't think he needs to hide anything.

Now you claim to have programming skills, show us your program in open source so everyone can check but I doubt yours will be better than the one of Claymore.
13363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Turned on my rigs today on: April 21, 2018, 06:37:33 AM
As long as you have an electricity cost of 0.09 dollars kilowatt or lower you should keep your computers on as I think as long as they are profitable they should be on.

Hold the coins , ethereum , bitcoin or any altcoin you maybe mining, today morning we are near 9000 dollars price in bitcoin so things are starting to recover.
13364  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone ordered anything on BitProducts.us ? on: April 20, 2018, 09:12:07 PM
All the products that they are selling are fishy. They are selling for 800 dollars a VISA card gift to spend 1000 dollars and I don't understand where is their profit in doing that ? Of course that must be the 100% profit because I think as soon as the will get the money they will disappear.

A simple WHOIS search told me that they created their website on April 12 of this year, and nothing else , no street address, no contact. Their website is cheaply made if not free with a wordpress theme. I think they are 100% scam.
13365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will My One GPU Rig Cause Problems With its Heat This Summer? on: April 20, 2018, 09:02:39 PM
If it is a big basement and it is like you say considerably cooler than upstairs then you are good to go. Four graphic cards will not put up a lot of heat. I keep three mining computers each with 6 graphic cards in a big room which is not hit by the sun and it has a few  small holes in the right part of the ceiling. They keep the airflow good and don't let any rain in.

It is somewhat hot but it is normal for three mining computers. You should be fine with a single mining computer.
13366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New nvidia gpus - wait or buy 1080tis? on: April 20, 2018, 05:10:09 PM
If the next gen Nvidia GPU's are based on the Volta architecture, I would expect higher prices due to various factors such as supply logistics and increased manufacturing costs from moving to a smaller process architecture. If that's the case the new cards will be more efficient for mining, but shouldn't make the current Polaris lineup obsolete in terms performance/hash and ROI timeframe.

Maybe they will not make the Polaris line of RX series obsolete but they surely will be the best choice for mining as they will be with GDDR6 memory which is supposed to be twice the performance of GDDR5.

The price will be really high in the beginning as they will try to market the GDDR6 as the first manufacturers of a graphic card with such memory. If you can find the 1080 ti even used below 600 dollars price you should buy them.

I thought it was memory bandwidth, not speed, that matters most for e.g. eth mining.

Yes it is the memory bandwidth but also the transfer speed is increased. For more you can read this article which explains that the GDDR6 memory is aimed toward the segment of high end computers, cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence AI

https://graphicscardhub.com/gddr5-vs-gddr5x-vs-hbm-vs-hbm2/

That article fails though to point out how shitty gddr5x is.  On paper it sounds good, in reality, I don't think it ever got implemented correctly.  There is a reason it has only been used on 3 cards and then thrown in the trash.  Hell even when they released their Pascal Tesla cards they used GDDR5 instead.  That should be very telling.

Any chance that GDDR6 will flop, or at least greatly undershoot expectations, along the lines of GDDR5X?

I doubt it, if you do a simple google search you will see that Samsung has already got a lot of awards for their upcoming GDDR6 memory. The fact that they can have easily 16 GB of VRAM is a fact teller that this type of memory will be the best we will have available when it will come out.

As an IT I know RAM greatly limits computing power for the moment so whenever I see a jump in RAM technology like the one from GDDR5 to GDDR6 I cannot do anything else except welcome it and so should do everyone if you love computers and technology.

13368  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cpu mining and mobile mining bitcoins ? on: April 20, 2018, 04:10:54 PM
$2-$3 per day from mining on some old stuff or on the mobile? Well good luck with that, currently a 1080Ti gives a bit more than this.
If you’re mining on Nicehash the 1080Ti actually makes just $1.55 a day after electrical costs of $0.10/kWh. The 1080Ti only makes $2/day when you have near free electricity. Only the Titan V makes more than $2 a day after electrical costs at $0.10/kWh (it earns ~$3.00 a day), and it retails for $1200 from Nvidia’s store.

Well, I don't mine on Nicehash, only occasionally buy hash power from them. Sorry for those who do.

I do and Nicehash does 1.21 dollars daily with a RX 470/480/570/580 after a bios modification. For those who make less than 1 dollar with rx series there is something wrong with them or they haven't modified the bios of their graphic cards.

13370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only 4 of 6 rx580 gpu works. on: April 20, 2018, 01:50:11 PM
There is no need for special driver for mining , enter your bios and make sure you have set all your pcie slots to pciex1.

Also disable everything that you don't use in bios like the audio or some usb ports. H81 pro btc is a gen 4 motherboard and has not many resources.

Last resort uninstall blockchain driver and try latest adrenaline driver, just change gpu workload from graphics to compute to have same performance as with the blockchain driver.
13371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx560 Install issues on: April 20, 2018, 01:28:35 PM
Have you done any bios modification or tries to do ? Because from what you describe it looks like you may have a corrupted bios.

To check for it download ati flash and run as administrator and see the actual bios number and the line below it.
13372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASUS B250 Mining Expert MB - 19 Cards! on: April 19, 2018, 08:58:22 PM
Strange.
Using win10 and 13 amd 570 nitro+.

Grt. Im on W10 1709 5x1060 11x1070

What about environment and temperatures of your cards?
Is it possible that hashrate drops because of cards down clocking for some other reason for example not enough voltage /PL limitation or to high temperatures?

No, not like that. I have tried everything. I have given up on this MB a long time ago yet looking for answers all the time. Now that many ppl suggests it could be miner, it is obvious I havent tried everything.

So far a very stable motherboard with 12 cards from RX 580 sapphire nitro plus , some of my colleagues wanted to squeeze the most out of their investment so they opted for this motherboard, I have set it up with 4 cooler master PSU-s 750 watt each powering 3 cards and this motherboard is running stable without a single crash from the moment I have put it up and running in February.
13373  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshiround.com - The Bitcoin lottery! Only 0.001 x ticket on: April 19, 2018, 08:36:21 PM
In round #4 a lucky player won 0.0062 BTC! Compliments!

Now look ahead to round #5! Place your bets and...good luck!

In a lottery winning 6x your bet is not very high. This can be done easily playing soccer ,ice hockey , basketball or tennis bets. I think that you need to lower the price of a ticket to 0.0001 bitcoin and increase the rewards.

By doing so you will have many more players interested to play and the jackpot will be higher. I like the 99 minutes lottery which is a new concept for me that I see for the first time here.
13374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buy antminers with loan on: April 19, 2018, 07:57:36 PM
Well if you are talking about paying with rates and getting a loan from the bank to do that I don't know why it shouldn't be done to buy a miner from bitmain themselves.

You just take the loan from the bank and choose a payment plan , time and interest and number of rates to pay with your bank and that is it. When you take the loan you take full amount, when you pay it, you pay with monthly payments usually.
13375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: April 19, 2018, 07:18:45 PM
Under Linux, I have 6 Nvidia cards working.  Not sure what is up with the Proliant G7 series.  I have tried a DL360, DL380 and the DL580 and none of these will boot with more than 4 GPUs installed.  Windows will lock up at loading screen.

Slap a USB stick with HiveOS on it and 6 get recognized easily.

I have a ML350P G8 that has taken 6 GPUs in windows easily.

Edit* Make that 9 1060s in one 580 in HiveOS.

I hit a wall at 9 cards on the 580 also, using SMOS. Spent countless hours getting 9 cards to work. In one way i love the HP servers, H/s on cryptonight is a bonus but as a gpu-mining platform they look good on paper but is in my experience not fun maintaining. Did anyone try to run Windows 10 on the 580 with success?

That is a problem with the HP server series like the G7 which are a bit old so HiveOS maybe does not have the best support for them. I will also blame HP or any other old server like Dell as I have tested HiveOS with 12 RX 580 cards in ASUS B250 Pro Mining and they worked out of the box perfectly without problems with a great hashrate of 360 Mhs.

The strong Xeon processors are good to mine Bytecoin or Monero.
13376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nVidia and Windows 10 crash on: April 19, 2018, 06:57:44 PM
I would do Windows reinstall. That worked for me sometimes with the ATI cards but I don't know with Nvidias. Do you have a licensed version of Windows because Windows behave in a funny way when it is not licensed or it is activated in some different way than with the original license ?

In case you haven't a serial costs only 5-10 Euros in Ebay. I would give a try to reinstall Windows , download it from Microsoft website and enter the serial you buy, this is the best way to installing Windows from my work experience.
13377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nVidia and Windows 10 crash on: April 19, 2018, 12:22:55 PM
After Windows Update use Ddu program to completely uninstall your Nvidia drivers, also delete them from the appdata directory. After doing so install the latest Nvidia drivers and also do not overclock your cards too much as that is a reason that freezes the pc. This should solve the nvidia.sys problem that restarts he computer.
13378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best CPU to mine with on: April 19, 2018, 06:45:27 AM
Latest Intel Xeon if you have the budget for such kind of processor and if not then you should go for the Amd threadripper as already pointed out by a few people.

To maximize the profits you can use 2 or more of these processors. In our company we a have a few servers with Xeon processors, haven't tried them for mining as someone of another company was arrested for putting computers of the company to mine for him.
13379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GPU.. need suggestions on: April 17, 2018, 01:53:35 PM
is Mining still relevant?)))

It is if you are mining for long term and don't want the quick buck and taking a long time to Roi doesn't bother you at all because you see mining as a hobby which in the future can also give you profit.

If you ask because you want some quick profit then mining is not relevant.
13380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GPU.. need suggestions on: April 17, 2018, 09:47:51 AM
Yes that would make sense especially now that Nvidia may release their new cards in June the 2080 but they will be expensive.

If you have made your mind up that you want to start mining why not buy any of the new cryptonight asics that are power efficient and have good profitability, I dont know how long this profitability will las though as with other asics as l3+ lasted only 2-3 months.

These asics will be out in may I heard and some in April from different companies.
