1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin must surpass gold on: June 11, 2023, 07:30:14 PM
There are two reasons. First, Bitcoin is a non-credit currency ten times stronger than gold. So unless Bitcoin is replaced. Otherwise he must surpass gold. Second, Bitcoin is close to being the ideal non-credit currency, and it is basically impossible to have another non-credit currency beyond Bitcoin. Combine these two points and Bitcoin is bound to surpass gold
Such a small piece of writing and yet, some many over view statements. Certainly one that comes with huge assumptions.
You might have said these knowing that this is a Bitcoin community and we would certainly wish or want Bitcoin to be of more value than gold can ever be but first, we've got to understand all that is said there.

Talking about ten times stronger and also non-credit ideas... what does all that mean?

The only reason I can think of that makes Bitcoin more unique than other commodities out there is that, bitcoin is a more scares commodity than gold can ever be. More gold keeps been discovered as time goes on.
Also, Bitcoin is decentralized and the events that happens with bitcoin remains with the people.
1342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I keep crypto after buying it? on: June 11, 2023, 07:13:57 PM
Buying cryptocurrency is always a matter of where and many depend on exchanges as, they serve escrow purposes which have been found to be extremely important in the cryptospace, given the high level of insecurities that surrounds its transfer.
Also, cryptocurrency is meant to assume some level of anonymity and having yo buy from exchanges someworth agrees with that.  Exchanges ensures both the buyers and sellers aren't been cheated and they make sure there is always market for any amount of cryptocurrency. You also get to receive your coins or fait equivalent before release and are there to settle dispute should any arise.

Exchange might be your best means as, brokers don't offer such advantages.
1343  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria SEC tag binance operations illegal on: June 11, 2023, 06:57:09 PM
how do think the market or Nigerian investors will react to this?
They said any investor or individual still operating with them is doing so at his/her own risk, which means that they cannot shut their operations down, and are just saying that anything wey you take your eye see, when you dey use them, say na only you know.

The major problem is that they are operating unregulated and unregistered.

The status of bitcoin has always been illegal to many Nigerians, it will not change and will not stop people in the country from using binance.

The only time Nigerians will stop binance usage is if the exchange crumbles from the top.
From the bottom rather than the top.
The matter be say, the idea of cryptocurrency no be watin any government around the world buy and as e be like that, no policy or literally piece way them go bring way go put crypto on a better side for people to deal. I remember some time ago way government been dey try run some affiliation with binance and people been dey reason if na trap.

Watin I dey think now be say, them been dey try put body with Binance before via say them go try infiltrate there system through regulations and get certain details of p2p users. Na just watin I dey think shah.

The description them don put up there no dey any different frm watin them go talk about Bitcoin. This one no be warning, na just anothereans to spread FUD.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 11, 2023, 06:32:29 PM
In fact, Inter Milan was able to keep up with Mancheter City's game, and also succeeded in making it difficult for Manchester City to carry out attacks, especially in defense and also the pressure that Inter Milan put on Manchester City's players when their players got the ball. And Inter Milan also had six shots on target and several good chances, through Federico Dimarco and Romelu Lukaku but were less fortunate.
I like to think that Inter Milan had more better chances than Manchester City ever did. They just had a very big issue at finding the goal, they couldn't convert.

Martinez had a very good chance but, it wasn't his to take. He ought to he passed the ball to R. Lukaku who was in a better position to the te shot although, not without company as he had defenders to each of his sides but, Ederson was already out of the way and any shot would have meaned a goal.

F. Dimarco had his time, sadly one came off the ball and the next was interrupted by R. Lukaku.  Then, Lukaku had his time but still, the Ederson was there to keep it out by spreading his body. Manchester City was favourites to win and they did.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 09:04:15 PM
And they have done it.

Manchester City 1:0 Inter Milan.

I had no doubt in my mind that this round of the league was for Manchester. Last time it was Real Madrid to have been there barrier, the one before that was Chelsea and this time, they managed it to neat a familiar barrier in Real Madrid and they had to beat yet another barrier to the cup.
It was a well deserved one and they've got one man to thank for all that which is Pep Guardiola. Winning the treble is one way to compensate for lost seasons.

The match was boring compared to a final match. Both teams wanted to play without risk. Actually, they are not wrong. They came here with great effort. They didn't want to waste all their hard work with a few simple mistakes. Onana, Brozovic and Barello were good at Inter. Bernardo Silva was good at Manchester City.
You call this  match boring? I wonder what would be more interesting for you.
This was a far interesting match worthy of being called a finals. Both teas thread cautiously and the better team did win. No much goals scored and there were really good chances in the game.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 08:33:47 PM
I expected offensive moments now like they always do, being too defensive shows how too much they care about winning and it might be a weakness rather than a strength when it gets into their heads.
Of course you got that right, Manchester City can't afford to lose the game given how many times they've come so close and are always pushed out at the semi finals. Take it from me, Inter Milan are the once playing what wasn't expected. I thought they would play more badly but, that haven't been the case. It's been an awesome defence line coordination on there part.

It's been a good strategy for Inter Milan until now. Manchester have been able to find there goal and the game very much looks like a 1:0 match as, I don't see Inter Milan conceiving any more goals and Manchester City can't afford to make any mistakes. Pep has brought in Walker to tighten his defence line and the clock is running out for Inter Milan.
1347  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Male Dominated on: June 09, 2023, 11:58:54 PM
Bitcoin is a currency and there I no sexes in currency.

If your able to earn it, you earn or then have it.

If your able to buy it, ten you buy it and there you have it

If you want to trade it, you've got to study for it, practice your skills and there you have it, your a trader.

Should you wish to hold it, you get a safe wallet, buy and pile it up.

It's currency and it depends largely on your ability to...
1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI IS BACK with satoshi@vistomail.com BUT ITS SCAM on: June 09, 2023, 11:55:24 PM
Maybe you might have to move this thread to Scams an accusations subboard. It would fit in there more perfectly and possibly gain the sort of audience it deserves. Those seeking to know and they just might be lucky with this being there.
It's a welcomed initiative having to detect or gather information  about these projects and hinting the  community in time  but, you should also try to get it right or do it right by creating threads such as these in proper boards like the scam and accusation subboard.

If I was Satoshi, saying anonymous and seat back to watch my creation move through time is what I would just be doing. I think that's what Sagoshi Nakamoto is doing as well so  they could as well give it up.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin criticizer, 'Black Swan' author, admits BTC isn't useful for 'bad guys' on: June 09, 2023, 11:50:03 PM
So much angry against Bitcoin put one of the strongest arguments of the critics in contradiction. Now they have to decide, is Bitcoin bad because it helps thieves, or is it good because it can't benefit thieves? Huh
Well bitcoin wasn't created for any of those purposes. It was created as a p2p currency that exists on the blockchain for users to be able to transact with globally and have no government interference. That's just how I like to or rather look at it.
With the critics, government and even antics trying to rule a line that some worth tags the currency to fraudulent intents and for a means in which, people hopes to hide from the law, it really isn't that. It's traceable after all but, government interference with some financial affairs and how decisions are made on that is what crypto stands to push out of financial system. Its not about fraud.
1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BECOMING A LIFELINE FOR POLITICAL DISSIDENTS IN MYANMAR on: June 09, 2023, 11:35:46 PM
Following a military coup in 2021, resistance groups in Myanmar are in need of an alternative financial solution like Bitcoin. Bitcoin could serve as a better alternative for those in Myanmar who are being cut off from traditional banking services or fear currency devaluation.

Research conducted by the Bitcoin Myanmar Initiative shows that, while the value of the kyat has fallen by over 35% since the military coup, the price of bitcoin has doubled in the same period. Prior to the coup, the price of 1 BTC was approximately 500 million kyat, but it is hovering around 1 billion kyat on Binance’s peer-to-peer exchange as of this writing.
As it is, bitcoin still requires fiat to be functional and as such, the people of Myanmar might still have to sort means to have a functional banking services. What deal of hope the crypto space would have done for them in this time of resistance . This is another reason why centralised systems aren't a perfect one for a free willed society. Those who have control will always use it and what better tool to archive that other than the currency which the rest of us in our world hold dear, fiat.
Well a good number of us have left it behind and only access it occasionally but still, bitcoin hasn't been accepted globally just yet.

Also, the situation  in Myanmar though might contribute to bitcoin boost in price, its most likely not the chief reason why bitcoin appreciated. Its a collective effort of traders around the world.
1351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBDC competing with bitcoin on: June 08, 2023, 11:57:54 PM
Having a central bank digital currencies still does not change anything because the system still remains the same, central bank digital currencies (CBDC) is controlled by the government and this same system can be manipulated. Central bank digital currencies is a financial structure that is based on debt.

I don't know how they expect people to feel any different when government cannot let the currency to be decentralized .  Some of the reason why most users clamor go cryptocurrency  and by that I mean bitcoin is because of its decentralised nature. The heavy hand of control which the government can't so much release has been the barne of the currency CBDC and would continue to be.
In the end, I think financial freedom is what the government can't offer as they are sure to lose some of its sovereign power to manipulate the system in ways that pleases them after power is released to the people.
1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or banking investment? on: June 08, 2023, 11:45:46 PM
I believe bitcoin and banks are well renounced investment platforms but many people prefer bitcoin investment despite is very risky because of high demands and rising price interest and banks on the other hand saves millions of people finances all over the world yet their investment interest is very small but less risky than bitcoin. Which do you preferred your money to be save in as investment? Bitcoin or bank! What's your reason?
Your post became almost confusing from the very girst statement with you having to compare banks and bitcoin in the context of an investment. Banks and exchanges could be seen for a financial institution and as well, an investment but the case is different with bitcoin. Although, bitcoin do serve investment purposes, it is girsgly a currency.
I think what ought to have gone is banks as against wallets or exchanges while, we could always compare or have to bring fiat and bitcoin to context. Them both are the medium of exchange for commodities bought or sold and services rendered.
Hence, why do I have to pick otherwise. I go with bitcoin every other day but, that doesn't mean I won't run some operations with fiat.

1355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Male Dominated on: June 07, 2023, 11:49:33 PM
Without nothing to prove, it's hard to not say that.
Th currency has no ties to any gender, there is no sex to it but, our world has left us to believe that the majority of individuals taking up bitcoin investments are males. You wouldn't blame them on that as, men wake up to the reality of the innovation quick than we can say for the females.
There isn't any prove but, if we are sincere to ourselves, we can say it is male dominated.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should cryptocurrency be banned in a country with a population of 240 million? on: June 06, 2023, 11:51:19 PM
The population of a country has nothing to do with government actions against it. I'm from Nigeria, the most populous African nation and the government banned the banks from getting involved in Bitcoin some 2 years ago.
Non progressive governments would always find a way to stiffle new innovation if they cannot effectively control it.

If you’re in BTC to set free from today’s very very dirty fiat, you’re probably going to want to move out of a country who tries to block what sets you free.
Not everyone has the liberty to simply move to another country, some have to find a workaround the bans.
Something I asked myself as well,
What is the relationship between population size and bitcoin?
I don't seem to make that mark as I feel, its got nothing to do with it other than, increased or reduced demand could result in some adjustments to the market structure as per price and trends.

It's not uncommon for governments to make this sort of threats and the crypto enthusiast in Pakistan ought to have known better by now or at least, learn from the history of the bans from other nations. Only weak hands would rush to empty there portfolio at this time and it tells how little they've come to know of the currency.

The government have a commodity and tool to control of there own in fiat. Its very hard for them to accept the idea of a free financial system in bitcoin and so they throw what they can at it and see how the people react. What I think? You guys ought to be indifferent.
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argument: Can a digital currency sent to a wrong address be recovered ? on: June 06, 2023, 11:34:22 PM
The argument was about, Is it possible to recover any digital currency like Bitcoins and others after sending it to a wrong address ?

My friend actually thought it would be possible, but i tried to explain that it is not possible due to the decentralized structure.
Yes, it's actually possible but all that depends largely on the phase of the transaction.
Should the transaction happens to have been broadcasted on the network, recovery is still possible. All you've got to do is, initiate a differentransaction with a different and higher fee rate to the right transaction and your sure to have your wrong transaction cancelled.

Where it becomes irreversible is in the case that the transaction has started undergoing some confirmations on the blockchain. You could as well make peace with the fact that, the coin is lost to the address.
You might still be able to get it back but, that implies you've got to know who owns the address and that too sweat you can't determine yourself less you already knew. That way, you could simply ask the owner for a reversal.
1358  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education or 1million dollars on: June 06, 2023, 10:48:26 PM
You know, it's a world with several twist.
There are no guarantees on which ever you choose. Of course, the financial education seems the best or better option but, you would take that just because, you hope it could lead you go wealth and you get better at managing them. What if,
After getting these expertise in money management and all, you don't have a penny to manage. Your just stock with all your theories. Perhaps, you could start life as a lecturer after wards, get creaive with the acquired knowledge and how to reap from it.

Again, one can pick the money and later use that money to train themselves through some financial education and still have both. I think that would be a wise choice should one follow that path.
1359  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: June 06, 2023, 10:25:39 PM
Money is a good follower, but is a poor leader.

Money will always lead you astray, but it will follow you well.
There are days to a man's life when the first is inevitable. You've just got yo follow and hunt for it with the strength of your youth and some even take it down to the days when they grow gray.
Following money isn't so bad, it could lead you to developing models that ensures you not only get to keep them but to make more of it ad that doesn't neglect the fact that, money aids in the making of more money.
Following money doesn't mean you get to do unspeakable things or take ways that aids no value or pride to a man's life but, you've got to ensure that in your pursuit for money, your values are not diluted.
1360  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Banks really manipulates us? on: June 06, 2023, 10:11:56 PM
Banks aren't the main component of capitalism. You could have a Bitcoin economy in which banks were completely wiped away and still have a capitalistic economy based on private enterprise. Banks represent a large portion of the economy due to investments and circulating funds throughout the economy, but that does not mean they're a central component of capitalism itself. Think of individuals conducting commerce as being the main vessel of capitalism. Banks merely facilitate the ventures as intermediaries. You could replace banks with anything.
I do wish you didn't get to pause like you did, perhaps you could have pushed the comment farther as it did make a good read.

Taking a page from what you've already laid down, banks aren't the master minds behind the system, the governments are wth the banks as its facilitators, taking the forefront to ensure the schemes archives its aim as they control the masses money and gets to increase or limits its circulation.
It's the sole base of having the system leveraged to attain certain conditions within the nation. That's why cryptocurrencies are not recognised or welcomed by most governments of the world.
