Huobi has been trading just like gox when it was dying.

Actually we will see its trading all the way to $130..... why? the Chinese just found out Houbi never has such volume and the order books are just Houbi-coins
1342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 21, 2014, 10:56:25 AM
WTF is going on in China?

Nothing.....

Just one exchange having fun with fake trading data.
1343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 21, 2014, 10:54:55 AM
Seems the return to pre 1500BTC buy is happening sooner than expected.

China leading with the dumps.

Stupid day traders.....

Houbi was accused of having inside trading and fake trading volume..... yet dumbass on Bitstamp keep following it.
1344  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dear Bitmaintech, My Deepest Apologies on: March 21, 2014, 10:39:01 AM
I was also hit. Learned more about how to find the transaction in other blockchains.
There was a warning when I ordered though, first time it would not create a vallet for me to pay to. So I knew it was probably a blockchain.info wallet I was going to pay to.

Now waiting to see if I get a "shipped" message within the next hour or so, or if they have stacked up so many orders that it will be impossible to ship all out today.

I also feel much more confident buying here than the "we hope to ship while it might still be profitable" companies.

WTF? i see that you're new but do you understand bitcoin has only one blockchain?

Blockchain.info is just a site that let you explore THE blockchain.... which your wallet client can also do. If the transaction was broadcasted, and later got 1 confirmation reported by your client, then you're set. No need to be panic.
1345  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles wanted a bailout on: March 21, 2014, 10:34:31 AM
If Mark doesn't end up in jail, he'll be assassinated. Nobody publicly steals $500 million and walks away with it.

What make you think these are exclusive?

I would say, the outcome contains both
1346  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Scaling Up From Nothing on: March 21, 2014, 05:33:41 AM
My advice, for what it's worth...

You really can't go wrong with Ants, S1 or S2.  You'll have to wait a few weeks for the S2 but you'll be able to run them longer after the difficulty increase makes it unfeasable to run less electrically efficient miners.

And most importantly, don't fall in love with your miners.  The only way you'll actually be able to make money is by selling your miners while the still hold value on eBay.

I thought ebay is cracking hard on any btc related product.

Also how do you protect yourself from paypal chargeback?

1347  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Scaling Up From Nothing on: March 21, 2014, 05:32:30 AM
OP , if you can scale up from nothing then you've effectively create money out of thin air.

I'm sorry to break it to you but thats not how it is.

The reason some miners here can "scale up"  because they hold on to their mined BTC which is appreciated in value.

So my answer to you is, just like any investment, if the value of your investment goes up, you're getting richer. But you cant be richer from nothing.

1348  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Understanding the Mt. Gox bankruptcy process on: March 21, 2014, 05:16:35 AM
Does anyone know if MtGox by law has to liquidate all its bitcoins to repay its debt in fiat currency?

I would think because its a virtual item, worth fiat value, then yes. But they claim all their bitcoin were stolen also.

"The term "virtual mugging" was coined when some players of Lineage II used bots to defeat other player's characters and take their items. In Japan, the Kagawa prefectural police arrested a Chinese foreign exchange student on 16 August 2005 following the reports of virtual mugging and the online sale of the stolen items.[12]"

But they just announced that they "found" 200k of those lost coins. What i want to know is, will these coins be liquidated by court order?

Even though, the justice should be that MtGox returning those coins to its customer with btc balance.

bitcoinity is down for everyone?
1352  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 21, 2014, 12:08:46 AM
I presume the noise is related to the amount of heat being produced within a small area.   Maybe try adding a desk fan, see if noise relates to room temp
Adding fan won't help. Our recommendation will be to host in a data center. We'll provide easy way to configure remote access.
In addition, we'll offer competitive hosting plans from Mid April.

The April batch will be shipped beginning of April (April 1st) Correct?

1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi was a "genius", then why do BTC transactions take so long? on: March 20, 2014, 07:38:15 PM
If Bit_Happy was a 490 activity user then why hasn't he seen the endless topics and pages written on this? Especially a LTC user... why the sudden curiosity i wonder...

why the sudden curiosity
I paid a transaction fee and the transaction is still unconfirmed after a "almost unbelievable" amount of time.

Endless topics and pages written on this?
I've seen the long transaction times discussed, but never Satoshi commenting on it.

@Holliday Are you saying BTC transaction do not take too long?
Sheesh...

10 min is nothing compare to current banking system. Heck even a check deposit can takes days to confirm.

However both transactions are instant (bitcoins and check deposits). My transactions are always broadcasted and instantly in queue (that means its very hard, nearly impossible, for me to double spend it unless i'm an operator of GHash lol)

I believe Satoshi thinks 10min is an appropriate time required for a global payment network. I dont think faster confirmation times would give any benefit but potential nonstop-able forking in case of attack.
1354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 20, 2014, 07:31:03 PM
Do you have overheat protection feature in the firmware (shutting miner off automatically, or better yet auto adjust individual chips) ?
Yes, of course, we do DVFS on the ASICs. One of the DVFS parameter is the individual ASIC temperature.
(We have temperature sensors on the ASICs, AC2DC (PSU), DC2DC and three on the PCBs)
If you do, is it configurable ? ( adjusting temp threshold)
No, but we'll have all the source code opened. Changing the default firmware will void warranty of course.
We do allow different mining modes with the default firmware, which results in different power consumption.

Thank you i missed the DVFS part.

However, can you clarify a few things:

DVFS is meant to control the freq of the chips but can it shut off the chip completely to prevent overheating?

What happens when a chip is dead (for whatever reason)? is the FW still able to mine with the rest of the chips (and disabling the dead one) ?

Thanks.
1355  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: www.lketc.com 1TH Dragon miner direct order. 3000$ on: March 20, 2014, 07:27:36 PM
Way too big, will make shipping it a pain. And it would be hard to scale up.

1356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 20, 2014, 07:16:50 PM
Do the heat sinks mount directly to the chassis to provide more efficient active cooling in e.g. liquid cooled racks / fully contained cabinets?
Our systems are designed for air flow cooling. It doesn't require any exotic cooling infrastructure, liquid or others.
It can be used in a data center environment and in others environment.
Remote admin is possible for users interested in hosting the machine in a data center.
We'll provide our own competitive hosting plans soon.

Do you have overheat protection feature in the firmware (shutting miner off automatically, or better yet auto adjust individual chips) ? If you do, is it configurable ? ( adjusting temp threshold)

If you dont, can it be done? when will it be done?

I think this is absolutely necessary .

Thanks

1358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 20, 2014, 05:34:07 PM
Agreed franky1's comment was not specific enough.

But yours is more incomplete, because the authority must have the power to indemnify against all laws and jurisdictions to which MPOE is subject to, not just the law and jurisdiction from which that authority derives.

That is why the rest of my post flew right over your illogical head.

What authority needs to 'indemnify against all laws and jurisdictions'? You are turning the entire legal structure since the Magna Carta upside down. The 'authority' must demonstrate proper jurisdiction and venue in order to be any 'authority' in the matter whatsoever.

Thanks for the childish insult, jerk.

Can you stop quoting the troll for once? 90% members on this forum has ignored AnonyMint, but quoting him makes it useless.

This is the ASICs status at the moment I took the UI snapshot:

We're using DVFS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_frequency_scaling) to squeeze the most of the ASICs and system.
We'll fine tune the algorithm to give better results in the near future.

The temp is the chip temp?

Many of them is quite high compared to what i'm used to.... 113c?

Whats your ambient temp? Whats your recommendation for hosting environment? Does having fans at the front help?
