1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if the bitcoin developer team breaks down? on: January 27, 2017, 01:19:06 PM
If the development team breaks down, this maybe the end of Bitcoin. Some people may criticise the core team but they have contributed significantly to the growth of the project. There is a reason why we have so many fork of BTC coins over, this is because the core is secure
I don't think so, there will be always good man/new comers to fill empty seat on the devs team.
Until now, I  believe that Mr. Satoshi still in devs team or watch over them.
Even gmaxwell love the idea to splitting, we will be fine.
1342  Economy / Economics / Re: Where can i invest my money? on: January 27, 2017, 11:50:05 AM
I currently have 2mil usd for investment.

I wanna invest it on bitcoin. Where can I invest it?

Please give me all the alternatives

thanks!

also, please look at my first post I plan to build a mining farm: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1764338.msg17619998#msg17619998

Well, $2 Million is big enough to build mining farm.
But, is it really worth according to your calculations? About the electricy, maintenance and running it everyday.
Do not put all eggs in one basket, divide it maybe good planning such as hoarding bitcoin for 5 years, definitely you will get decent profits.
1343  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: January 27, 2017, 08:23:39 AM
i had about $200 worth of bitcoin.
How can i earn more with that amount?
should I trading? or make an investment?
and please give me some trusted site to investing my wealth.

**i dont want to give a loan, or else.**

if you had some advice, feel free to tell me.
really apreciate it.
thank you.
Investing. For me you need to Invest it all because you can loss in trading and it will not help you to earn or you can even liss all of your money in just a few seconds, hour or days. So I want you to choose investing because  you can earn in investing little amount but guarantee. So if you will choose trading you can loss but you can win It's just like a gambling so better choose to your self.

There's no certain answer I think due to every person has different interest/knowledge to something.
Moreover $200 isn't enough to make a good investment if you don't have any clue where to invest.
Op can choose depends on his abilities to grow it, investment : if he already knows what kind of legit project to put the money.
Trading : if he knows which one of coins will bring good profits for him.
1344  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000$ rally tomorrow on: January 26, 2017, 11:51:27 PM
I think tomorrow with the Trump thing we may see a rally. It looks like the chinese crap is no longer able to crush the market anymore, so now they will try to pump instead of shorting. The Trump inauguration seems like a good psychological point to press for a bigger price. Make your bets. It may dip but I don't care, that's my prediction.
I'm not sure if Trump inauguration few days ago will give so much effect to bitcoin market if there's no any economics policy issued regarding bitcoin or push investors to invest on bitcoin. But, bitcoin will increase for sure and I bet we will back to $1000 in the next month as we could see the price fluctuate but always persist to $900 and slowly rises.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In a Bitcoin Disaster where would you move your Money? on: January 26, 2017, 12:44:23 PM
Depends on what disaster?  If bitcoin could stand even some crash happen, I will cash out to fiat and buy back at the lower price.
The poll shows people still prefer to fiat as it is an official currency to buy anything including bitcoin.
Divide my investment to some store of value such as bitcoin, gold, fiat money as backup plan if one of them going to crash.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: January 26, 2017, 09:37:13 AM
Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.

Bitcoin as digital currency could used for everything that accepted this payment, not only to buy drugs, access porn site or gambling.
Other currencies are being used to those activities too, doesn't mean the currency is bad, depends on people who use it.
You will find what you looking for, I mean if you look for bitcoin used for good activities, you will find it too.
1347  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: January 26, 2017, 04:38:27 AM
save on monero or whatever coin you believe.
gold and silver is just not worth it except if you have like a million dollar.
Investing in some trusted cryptocurrencies is always a good choice but to claim investing in silver and gold is not worth it is and exaggeration, precious metals are a good investment if you don't believe the currency economic system is going to keep going strong.

My planning for collecting coins, it should be byteball, check my signature and the Ann thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.0 it has good idea of cryptocurrency, different but better I think. The value keep increasing and many traders looking for it, just check on Altcoins sections. Although, the distribution could be free for those who want to, just read the way how to get it.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 50 Dollars a Day! on: January 25, 2017, 10:03:17 PM
Hello,
If you wanted to make 50 Dollars a day what betting strategy would you take?

You need big bankroll to earn big profits, at least put $10-25 and bet on sportsbook is the one that I choose to make it.
Avoid any kind of game such as dice that depends so much on your luck.
To make profits, bet on the match which you familiar about and know how to analyze in order to get winning.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To those who says Bitcoin is too expensive for a virtual item on: January 25, 2017, 09:21:10 PM
I get a lot of people that tells me, " Bitcoin is a virtual item, how can a digital item be that expensive? "

My answer is always the same, " Do you understand Digital scarcity? " I then offer examples like this :

•Eve Online Revenant Super Carrier – $9,000.
•Echoing Fury Mace from Diablo 3 – $14,000.
•Age of Wulin Sword – $16,000.
•Ethereal Flames Pink War Dog in Dota 2 – $38,000.
•Amsterdam from Second Life – $50,000.
•Crystal Palace from Entropia Universe – $330,000.
•Club Neverdie in Entropia Universe – $635,000.

Source : http://www.therichest.com/rich-list/most-popular/10-of-the-most-expensive-virtual-items-in-video-games/ or a little video,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNRl3kAATk&t=8m35s

No, we are not crazy, we just understand "Digital scarcity" and we profit from that. Bitcoin will NEVER have more than 21 000 000 coins in

circulation, give or take a few million, and THAT makes it rare.  Wink Do the math, and see where this is going.  Grin
Splendid, nice information to read about. The first item that mentioned on the article was "The Blue Party Hat in Runescape - $1680" the price is more than bitcoin for now. Scarcity in virtual world mean very expensive cost to have one. On the other hand, bitcoin price become more expensive if the demands increase but with limited supply, that lead to scarcity too. Store of value, bitcoin known as digital money and even can compare to gold as precious things.
1350  Economy / Speculation / Re: The China Effect on: January 25, 2017, 12:05:40 PM
What is happening right now with the value of Bitcoin can all be partly traced to China. Chinese hold a big portion of the quantity of Bitcoin now circulating globally...they can manipulate its value and whatever they do that can affect Bitcoin will have a direct and indirect impact on its market value. Not to mention the fact that pronouncements from the China government in relation to Bitcoin can send the value of Bitcoin tumbling down or rolling up.

And this leads me into thinking...is Bitcoin now tied to China and is there something we can do about it?

It is true that Chinese country have to do to much with bitcoin nowadays. The last pump was dedicated to them. The same can be told even the actual dump. What can we do about this? Only one thing: spread the word about bitcoin everywhere. In this way bitcoin will not depend more only from Chinese market and for more from the statements of the Chinese Government which are even the reason of this actual dump.
We don't know exactly who have manipulated the market price. Yes, China miners and users hold big portion as the biggest trading volume happens in there. Big whales that always manipulate the market obviously, but we can't say that come from China if there's no any legit evidence as the bitcoin transaction consider as anonymous. If they sold out their bitcoins, and the price go down, then it's the right time to buy instead of panic sell too.
1351  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make more money? on: January 24, 2017, 05:21:07 PM
What are the things to do to succeed in trade? What are you doing to make your business bigger?
How can we make more money?
If you mean a business like localbitcoins, you can start by being available 24/7 with a decent cash flow. You need a good location, or be able to get to your clients fast and the clients will come.
If you mean trading on exchanges, you just need 2 things.
1. Some common knowledge that will allow you to profit from trading. Not all traders are good at it, some are earning a fraction of what they could.
2. Money to begin with. If you want to start trading with less than 1 BTC, it will take months before you have enough capital to really profit.
I consider trading part had been answered,
What I am doing to make my business bigger? It's simply to provide and offer better service than others, require a lot of time and effort to achieve this. Great management to accomplish planning and daily operation/work.
How to make more money? Double the business and your effort or find someone that could do it for you.
1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: January 24, 2017, 04:21:57 PM
Countries would rather not go ahead and allow a currency to rival their own as it would be competing for usage. Plus bitcoin is one of those things that must be heavily adopted before people go ahead and start using it all the time in an average Joe environment.

Yes, but if bitcoin could be an alternative to the country's currency will be very nice I think. But do not be surprised if the countries of the fear of losing their currency competitiveness with bitcoin. Thank you

Just my opinion.
Then how goverment take taxes from every bitcoin account in their own country?
I think they will not gonna be alternative currency, bitcoin will stay annonymous.

So far what I know that bitcoin had banned or not allowed because it become an option to do black market transaction or money laundering problems. Taxes problem will be matter if the number of users growing so much and gov sniff large amount of transaction.
Many countries doesn't regulated bitcoin yet or stated it as neutral cryptocurrency which every users should take their own risk to deal with it. I don't think bitcoin could really compete or replace fiat money in  daily basis in the nearly future but we don't know for sure about the future of bitcoin, right? So, it's remain to be an alternative payment for now.
1353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dead cat bounce, dreams shattered again. on: January 24, 2017, 11:27:51 AM
I really doubt we will ever see such price for bitcoin as 500$. Even some new hacking attract on wallets will not be able to drop the price for bitcoin so low.
But I expect to see some new fall in the price in couple of days on Chinese New Year when many people who hold bitcoins will cash some for the celebration.
Well, how about an exchange get hacked?
Or China government ban bitcoin? (low chance)
Bad news make people panic and sell off their bitcoin.
But, as long as we're doing so well here, nothing to worry and enjoy the price fluctuate.
$500 seems impossible for now and I doubt it too, but we have to prepare just in case, right.
Wealth diversity is a good option to do, not only going all in and if something happen, we will regret.
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Excuses on: January 24, 2017, 09:42:40 AM
Did you ever gamble with other's money to pay your own debts or otherwise to solve a certain problem through gambling?

I won't do such things to cover my debts, as we know that mostly players lose in gambling instead of makes more money.
Better to borrow other's money and pay my debts with it and no need to gamble which the money could gone for good.
The point is, gambling is not the right option to solve your debts problem.
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use a Bitcoin debit card? on: January 24, 2017, 01:51:09 AM
Just curious how many users use one of these..

I've started using Xapo and its pretty good actually.
I can buy whatever I want with BTC.

They have some fees,I tried finding some companies with lower fees but no luck.

They card costs 18$,I guess it was..Actually all companies want like 15$-20$ for a debit card.
Which is a good investment..I guess..

Which one do u use and what are their fees? Smiley
I use Xapo, I have used it for something like a month or two now, and I have to say it is a pretty good investment in my opinion and I haven't had any issues using it with any of my purchases. The only thing I don't like about it are the spending limits without identification verification, but that does make sense for a fair number of reasons, and I do respect their need for the verification.
I'm not using bitcoin debit card  or planning to have one. I don't like the idea of spending with debit card and have to pay high fees, remind me of conventional bank service which I don't like it in the first place. Depends on the FAQ to use the debit card, unfortunately I can't say too much as I don't know for sure, but if the idea similar to bank debit card, then it's not worth, at least for me.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, is it worth spending time collecting it? on: January 23, 2017, 11:09:32 AM
It is worth collecting Bitcoin but not by quitting ones daily job

It is very much wise to collect bitcoins on the side.
Totally agree, yeah its really worth it to collect btc because it can help us for our financial needs but not to the point that i will give up my real job to be full time in btc. i still have no guts to do it because i want stable income to sustain the needs of my family. for now i will enjoy working while doing part time in btc.
Agree, bitcoin could help us in financial as I know a man that doesn't have a job for years even after he married and have a son.
All his earning come from bitcoin and all things related to it such as trading altcoins, gambling and local exchange.
Fortunately, he can make it to feed his family and last month, he just started his own business which the capital from bitcoin.
Well, I can say that bitcoin change my life too and hopefully will be good in the future.
But, if someone like you already have a job than keep it and looking for bitcoin as additional earn.
You may someday can start your own business related to bitcoin payment too.

1358  Economy / Economics / Re: whether bitcoin influence on the world economy? on: January 22, 2017, 10:57:36 PM

possible bitcoin prices affect the world economy?
such as the high price of bitcoin again, if the price of the price of basic commodities will go up?

give your opinion?

Too early to say yes but also we can't say no due to the blockchain technology and bitcoin act as better alternative payment and had hundreds of thousands of users if I guess. It will be has an effect to the world economy, at least as a better financial transaction worldwide. We don't know for sure and still waiting where the market heading to, and contribution from the devs and users.
1359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? on: January 22, 2017, 05:21:50 PM
People think that Bitcoin will be valued more in the future. So they are both mining and buying bitcoin.

Is there any possibility of a decrease in demand for Bitcoin? Whatever happens, people give up using bitcoin.
The possibility always exist for bitcoin, but the chance to happen that different matter.
Increase or decrease of bitcoin demand reflected by the price for sure. But, the possibility to increase is bigger than decrease as people will realize how bitcoin is beneficial for them, that's why others coins replicate the idea to compete with bitcoin in cryptocurrency world.
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling get you into Bitcoin or did Bitcoin get you into gambling? on: January 22, 2017, 02:34:57 AM
I was into gambling before bitcoin was introduced. At the same time I am not into gambling just because of I'm having bitcoins. Honestly I have limited my gambling activities just because of I'm having some big earning opportunities through bitcoin payments.

Gambling and bitcoin system are completely two different extremes for myself. I'm not mixing up one into another because of easy availability of them. I value bitcoins so I will not spend them lavishly in gambling.

Good self-control to separate bitcoin and gambling as the outcome are different, just like earning and spending and mostly will have nothing in the end.
I had gamble few years ago and quit it, then I was introduced to bitcoin which I found out that so easily to gamble with it.
I was quit gambling and bitcoin made me back. But I can control myself and limit my funds to gambling of course.
