13521  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Open Source Plans for Modern Tesla Free Energy Generator Released to Public on: April 22, 2014, 01:15:03 AM
I was hoping to see actual plans for this "QEG". Unfortunately the linked PDF contains no plans, just a bunch of new-age pseudoscience. It even contains a section which explains how bumblebees can fly (you remember the old, disproven myth that bumblebees break the laws of physics  Roll Eyes)

Quote
Next to the larynx in the bumblebees throat, there is a tiny hollow tube that acts as a resonance cavity that accumulates frequency. When the bee starts beating its wings, it does this to accumulate frequency which bounces back and forth in the resonator cavity until it reaches the same frequency of the earth, known as the Schumann frequency. ....

"accumulating frequency", "evens out into zero-point" haha great stuff  Cheesy Cheesy

Hey, that cool.  So I'm going to make an automatic bumblebee dissection robot, and extract about 400 tiny hollow tubes that act as resonance cavities per day.  Three years, four at the max, I'll have enough to levitate.

Wait....If I make a couple of these AutoBumDisRobs, I can be in outer space in a year.

So....what's the resonate frequency of Mars?
13522  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Open Source Plans for Modern Tesla Free Energy Generator Released to Public on: April 22, 2014, 01:08:23 AM
In addition, the notion that utilising the zero point as an energy source is "free" energy is misleading.

It is not misleading because it is very economical to use this energy source as you don't have running costs for fuel anymore, only for the devices, which are relatively simple. Also they can be used anywhere and there no negative side effects such as pollution. The estimated cost is 0.1 cent per kWh, which is about 1% of the usual price and thus practically free.
Let us say for the sake of argument that you are right, the  big oil/gas and car companies have suppressed all the little inventors that made these machines, which were NOT based on Tesla designs.

Well, we have 3d printers now.  So we (I) don't need anyone telling me about zero point and quantum foam and active invention suppression.  I can download designs and make things.  Yes with some materials limitations.

Okay, how about it?  Let's have those designs.  Public domain those bad boys.  We ready.

85% of all the land in Nevada is federal land!

What is the need for this much?
The original atomic bomb tests, above ground; later the below ground tests, come to mind.  But I would wonder why that same land couldn't be auctioned off today.
13524  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden asks Putin LIVE: Does Russia intercept millions of citizens’ data? on: April 20, 2014, 07:34:40 PM
It could be anything, but to be frank, Putin does nothing but benefit from playing the good guy in this situation, so it's entirely plausible one way or the other that he's actually being honest about it, we know he uses spying on political opponents but it probably wouldn't be beneficial for him to just spy on ordinary citizens non-stop when they haven't even done anything wrong because of the amount of distrust he'd gain. The problem is we of course don't know what he's really like because he's a politician.....

Well, we've seen a number of splashy news press releases about the amount of electrical power some of the NSA facilities use.  From this is was possible (ten years ago is when I did it) to calculate that they were and are recording all conversations.

There have been no similar announcements about huge Soviet data farms.  If they do not exist, then the Soviets are not doing this style of recording.

Roll Eyes The Argentinian Fartmobile?  Roll Eyes

You could just have the cow pull the cart...

13526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: April 20, 2014, 03:12:21 PM
scientists in Argentina believe they have come up with a solution – cow backpacks that can be used to trap the animal’s natural gas.

The ‘fartpacks’ extract 300 litres of methane a day from a tube inserted into the cow’s digestive tract and convert it into enough energy to run a car for 24 hours.....

...either the "scientists" are stupid, or the reporters are lying.

I laughed very hard reading this.... OMG! 300 liters of methane per day... Oh god! that will be a super cow. You might need 15 LPG cylinders to store all this methane (that too in the liquefied form).

Note: I think that milliliter became liter during the Spanish to English conversion.
I didn't believe the 300 either, but went ahead and used it to show the lie in the "run a car for 24 hours".

Regardless, anyone who has been around livestock knows those cows will immediately be rubbing their sides against fences, bushes, everything with the intent of dislodging that annoying backpack.

This is so totally idiotic.  The way you get natural gas is to trap it at wellheads, or frack, etc.

But there is a train of thought that holds that beef cattle are the #1 global warming enemy outside of SUVs.  It's quite interesting how often the interests of radical vegetarians coincide with radical environmentalists.

This has an interesting aspect.  So called "renewable fuels" involve taking biomass and converting it to energy,  an alcohol or perhaps methane.  That is 'captured' and used in an engine.  The idea is that no old fossil carbon is pulled out of the earth and added to the carbon in the atmosphere.  Okay.  So how exactly could a cow not be part of the natural cycle?  A cow does not pull fossil carbon up from deep in the ground.  Well, you see if the methane from the cow (or the tundra, or the compost heap, or whatever) is captured, and burned for energy, that's "good".
13527  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: April 19, 2014, 11:59:46 PM

I thought most people already knew flatulence wasn't the major source of methane from cows.
Again they face the wrong side of this non issue, rear-ended  by the horns of their theology....

But the article says...

Global Warming Idiocy: Blaming Everest Avalanche on Climate Change

http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2014/04/global-warming-idiocy-blaming-everest.html

THAT ONE'S EASY!

See....Zero change in 17 years is well, a variety of climate change.  Think of it as a positive and negative scale of climate change.  -5 is climate change.  +5 is climate change.  And of course, 0 is climate change.

LOL...
13529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden asks Putin LIVE: Does Russia intercept millions of citizens’ data? on: April 19, 2014, 08:32:05 PM
Obama better distance himself to this issue. The Americans has no part on this problem. Any Obama's further involvement could only damage more to the already damage American image.

Bah!  Obama owns this issue we all know it.

The difference is that now he's shown to be as much of a liar as Putin has always been.
13530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: April 19, 2014, 04:38:46 PM
I don't think that there is an immediate threat to human existence. There are a large number of scarcely populated nations around the world, such as Russia and Brazil. Even China can sustain a lot more people than it is having right now. Also, the world population will stabilize sometime in 2050, and will start declining after that.

There are many scarcely populated ares in Russian and China where people don't want to live. Yes those countries are huge but much of their land is tundra, desert, etc and not desirable.

I don't buy that the population is going to start declining any time soon. Life expectancy keeps going up and the classes that have more children per family seem to be growing faster than the classes that have 0-2 children per family. Medicine is advancing at an alarming rate and we are already having problems paying for medical care because people just aren't dying like they used to.

Creating a human presence off Earth does not necessarily mean and should not necessarily mean Mars, read up on O'Neil colonies.

Creating a human presence off Earth means having ... somewhere ... serious building capabilities, like the ability to build spaceships, motors and tanks.

That is a valid point though I am not sure if I have heard of O'Neil colonies. Can you post a link or two and/or a basic explanation of O'Neil colonies?

yeah it is basically a self sustaining artificial world built and placed at the L4 or L5 lagrange points in lunar orbit.

http://www.nss.org/settlement/space/oneillcylinder.htm

The basic method here is to use a lunar railgun to lob materials to the L4 or L5 point.  These are unique locations in the Earth Moon system which are truly gravity neutral, so anything there, stays there forever.  A projectile shot off the Moon at the right velocity will reach the L4 point, continually losing velocity due to the lunar gravity, and will reach zero velocity at the L4 point.  Thus, a very large amount of building material could be accumulated there.  Think Legos.

That's not the whole solution, though.  O2, N2, C2, H2 and other elements which are the stuff of life, but which are extremely scarce on the Moon, would need to be also accumulated.   These are believed to be at the lunar poles in some few areas and to be possibly recoverable.

Think along the lines of a hundred year project.  A 100kg projectile shot each hour for ten years is 8,640 tons.

By contrast the total mass of equipment from Earth on the Moon after what, 50 some years?

Between 20 and 30 tons.
13531  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: April 19, 2014, 05:10:27 AM
but couldn't it pay itself out?

Even if they are mining the most expensive metal on earth, the trip would be uneconomical (it will cost around $100 billion, equivalent to some 5,000 tonnes of gold).

Another point I haven't mentioned is that I don't view Mars colonization as only worthwhile if it produces a return in terms of financial gain. Frankly I think colonizing Mars is a necessary and urgent step for the human race. We are going to run out of room on Earth sooner than later and the risk of an extinction level event (asteroid hit, nuclear war, virus, who knows??) means we really need to expand and not keep the entire race in one basket so to speak.

......
On Friday, the Obama administration stated that it would make a multi-pronged attack on cow flatulence, in an attempt to cut methane emissions.

cows have come under renewed scrutiny by scientists, who plan to capture their harmful emissions and convert them into ‘green’ energy.

But scientists in Argentina believe they have come up with a solution – cow backpacks that can be used to trap the animal’s natural gas.

The ‘fartpacks’ extract 300 litres of methane a day from a tube inserted into the cow’s digestive tract and convert it into enough energy to run a car for 24 hours.....ational Institute for Agricultural Technology (INTA) for a number of years and are still at proof-of-concept stage.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2606956/Now-THATS-wind-power-Cows-wear-BACKPACKS-capture-emissions-miniature-power-stations.html

Weight of methane:  2.1 kg / m^3
Energy content 55 Mj/kg
Energy content of gasoline 42 Mj/kg

Energy content of 300L of methane = 300/1000*2.1*55 = 35Mj
Equal to .63 kg gasoline, slightly less than a quarter of a gallon.

The first bolded part above is ignorance.  It is the burps a cow makes that creates the most of it's methane.

The second bolded part is a lie.

Deconstructing....

Generate a progressive news story about solving a non problem by first misunderstanding the science, then lying about it.

But it fits the narrative!

So...fitting this into the greater scheme of things...

Ban the Deniers!
(not not the liars!)

Yea I'm curious what it was myself.  I suspect it is something that thought to have been a conspiracy theory but yea we shall see.
The reverse question is more thought provoking.

What part of the package being sold by the mainstream media - if any - has any truth to it?
13534  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian roadmap to Solar System colonisation. Moon is the first step. on: April 18, 2014, 05:35:10 PM
What's funny to me is all the moon nuts that keep trying to respond to every single idea by saying "See! that's why you need a moon base!" We wouldn't HAVE to use the moon to build things in space, you just want a damn excuse to build a colony up there. The problem is everyone there would go freaking nuts and want to go back to earth and that's going to be a problem after their bodies have atrophied and lost bone mass from being in extremely low gravity for months/years.
Actually, you missed my point.  I've used the phrase "robotic moon exploitation" and see little use in a human presence on the moon.

Reid uses the term domestic terrorists and Steward Rhodes, Oath Keepers founder and
Yale law grad constitutional scholar, turned the tables and is using the term
"domestic enemies of the Constitution".
Rhodes wrote a rallying cry that could be described as the modern day American
declaration of independence.....
Unless We the People begin to take a meaningful stand now, in full support of our
patriotic state public servants who are willing to lead us, the domestic enemies of
the Constitution will not stop until the West is a land of ghost towns, devoid of
people, and we are all crammed into city slums, totally dependent and weak, with no
protection of our rights, like third-world urbanized peons under the arbitrary and
capricious control of corrupt dictators.

Harry Reid is taking down the video where ever it appears. This proves that Google is complicit.

Can't blame Google for it. They are quite helpless in incidents such as these. If they go against the government, then they will be slapped with lawsuits and hefty penalties. Anyway... now we have alternative video hosting sites which Harry Reid can't take down.

Sure you can blame google.  And they are not "helpless", not at all.  There can't be lawsuits and hefty penalties for taking off google archive histories.

OK... I found a video link which is working. Here is the link:

http://www.disclose.tv/action/viewvideo/172098/Bundy_Ranch__What_Youre_Not_Being_Told/

The video is 11 minutes long. Can someone re-upload it to the Youtube?

Vimeo would be a better choice, several second tier streamers.  Also, download it yourself and save it - there are firefox and chrome plugins for downloading streaming video.

Excellent analysis!

spin at the right speed and your body would have no way of telling that it wasn't on Earth
Yeah, but that's only true for big structures, like 1km diameter.
Otherwise your head will feel a different gravity that your feet.
Or you will fall over if you try to lace your shoes.
Something like this would be nice:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_torus

Yes, this is quite possible.  First the Lunar robot exploitation systems.  From your link.

The torus would require nearly 10 million tons of mass. Construction would use materials extracted from the Moon and sent to space using a mass driver. A mass catcher at L2 would collect the materials, transporting them to L5 where they could be processed in an industrial facility to construct the torus. Only materials that could not be obtained from the Moon would have to be imported from Earth. Asteroid mining was an alternative source of materials.[10]
General characteristics

    Location: Earth–Moon L5 Lagrangian point
Total mass: 10 million tons (including radiation shield (95%), habitat, and atmosphere)...

.....
I am a user of electricity powered by nuclear energy and coal everyday. By paying their bill every month I contribute to this industrial waste and pollution. I am also a tablet and a smart phone user, products that contain rare earth elements. Those elements were extracted without much oversight, destroying part of the Chinese ecosystem and surely some little fish no one cared about. I am also a satellite subscriber. Those things zipping up into space are needed for me to watch Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead among other things. Whatever happens to those things up in space when I will be upgrading my LED TV to 4K resolution is not my problem, as long I can see every hair and rotten teeth on that zombie......
You ain't with the program so here is some educating.

Talk down on the nuclear, and only whisper in low, scary tones about the coal.  Never, ever talk about the movement of dirty work and pollution to China.  Praise the Noodle Light.  Pepper your conversation with, always, four of five of (sustainable, renewable, Exxon, Koch, Earth friendly, nature, environment, flooding, drought, climate change, fossil fuel, carbon, etc).

Then ask for vegan beer.

Hmm... At least it seems I got the parchment made out of goatskin right...

Okay, now we're getting somewhere.  Now, you want to root out the Deniers?  Remember, they don't usually come right out and blurt to the rooftops they are Deniers.  They use code words, too.  To find their own kind.   They pepper their conversation with four or five of (cold, climategate, global warming, computer models, scientific fraud, hockey stick, Navier Stokes equations, tree rings, laws of thermodynamics, ice cores, Medieval Warming Period, Little Ice Age, nuclear power).

I have heard some of them talking about the "Sun" maybe having some influences or something. The word "Sun" could be added to the list. Better use a wider net of suspicious words... Just in case.
Oh yea, Sun.  Add to that, CERN, clouds, water vapor, urban heat island, soot, Asian brown cloud, and many other suspicious phrases.  Keep your cell phone close, and be ready to call them in when you find someone using these words.

By the way, here is a climate skeptic that lays out some rather good criticisms.

http://www.climate-skeptic.com/

Now don't misunderstand me.  You don't need - I'd rather you didn't - actually READ his drivel (Pssst - you or someone might fall for those tricky logical arguments).   Just glance over it fast for key words and phrases - like, for example "It's the SUN"...

THEN go over to one of those good websites, you know, the ones where the guys are paid to write stuff ,like grist, or skepticalscience.com.  Plug the DENIER phrase you found into the search function and SHAZAAM!  Just cut and paste the blurbs you find there, and you can go battle a denier.  Now, really, this is the safe and secure way.  Don't think you can use your own brain to argue with a DENIER.  They may be really very clever in a knuckle dragging lowbrow type of way.  Their brains have highly infectious memes, so play it safe and you'll do fine.   Remember, the sciency is settled, and the real scientists have figured this all out and you should just repeat what we tell you too.

Just repeat the things we tell you to, and you'll do fine.    Look, don't misunderstand me - it's okay to be different.  Just be different in conventional ways.  Get a tattoo or a nose ring.  But don't go down any really dangerous lane, like, thinking or something.

This video is down until we get to the bottom of this story.
UPDATE:
We took down our video on the Bundy Ranch scandal because it contains what we believe is a factual error and it would be irresponsible to leave it up in its current form. Especially in the current context. We are going to begin working on a replacement video only after completing a new investigation.

Aw, come on.  You know as well as we know the FACTUAL ERROR was not going with the correct factual revisionist as instructed.  These facts, you know have to be worked on until they fit with and help the narrative we want to shape.  It's a tough job sometimes, of course, but hey, everyone pitches in, and before too long, we're in the groove, baby.  We get those facts trucking along just the way we want them to and man, do they tell a story.

Why, right now we're working on a take that has some promise.  It's a story about the hero of the BLM, that hurt his hand slapping that stupid rancher bitch around and went home and couldn't mow his lawn without his hand hurting, so his kid had to do the lawn.  And then his wife complained to him, that he let an 8 year old kid do that, the kid could get hurt.  This made the Hero of the BLM feel bad.

And he had such a hard and thankless job!  And taking those cattle, one of them had tried to kick him!  Well, of course it won't be making that mistake again.  It's cold and stiff in the desert night now.  Plus he picked up a load of chiggers.  Well who would have thought you needed to wear boots, they didn't tell you this stuff!  I mean, he was pretty content staying in the cubicle all day, then those guys from the District of Criminals come along and tell him to get a gun and go out to some desert place and follow some orders.

I mean, don't your heart just go right out to him?
