1361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never transact on this kind of message on: March 09, 2023, 10:35:28 AM
Yesterday I received an email saying that all my files images and other information's are being controlled or see what I'm doing, some would react and be paranoid that their files were gone, he told me that he gain access to my router, and installed an exploit or a rootkit.
When receiving emails like this always be calm and collect yourself before reacting, all of his/her statement were false, because I'm using a firewall, which blocking incoming connection from unknown or deny and will alert me, he also is trying to ask for a bitcoin payment, but for every newbies or with little knowledge on how to protect your computer, or devices, never click popups, links, and open adult content site on your computer and mobiles devices specially if you are doing trading, online banking or anything that will, allow hackers to infiltrate's your network, hackers and scammers will do anything to get what they want, in some cases some people got their pc infected and encrypted all their file while hackers asking for ransom, so be careful opening files, or emails, from unknown people or even from an infected pc, if its suspicious never open or click anything, besides if you ever transact with them you are not sure if they will comply

It was probably a false claim since it's not that easy to get access to someone's desktop or files, I mean you know to yourself that you didn't do anything wrong or do something that is going to allow someone to probably get that access you should probably be fine and just ignore that email. I mean it is easy to get your email and send this kind of message to you, at the first place they will probably send proof if they actually have that since their goal was to get the ransom money for your files.

Your first line of defense against unsolicited messages is protecting your personal contact information  If scammers cannot reach you, you would not have to deal with their scam attempts at all.
To protect your details,

• Do not register on random websites using your email address
• Use a throw away address which would only be used once for random sites,
• Limit your social platforms to those that do not store user information,
• Do not sign up for random airdrops.

I agree, I mean just think before putting your information to any websites that you don't really know, It wasn't really that easy so hackers make way to get your information and when they do that's where they start to try to get access to your computer when you do open some of the fishy links and put your sensitive information there.

1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is launching a new project during bear market a good idea?? 🤔 on: March 09, 2023, 03:25:28 AM
FireDAO is a social DAO project based on PID and FID soul-bound accounts, and it's initiated and established by the RainbowCity Foundation. I'm one of the project team member and would like to gather more ideas from everyone in Bitcointalk forum.

I've seen alot of projects did so well during the bull market, but now I'm wondering is bear market will affect the progress of a new project...

Probably not, A lot of investor doesn't invest at these times since the market is down only a few investors have the courage to continue to invest because they probably not going to earn a big amount of profit since the market have very small movements Unless you have the funds to sustain your investment most of the time it will be a loss when investing on top cryptocurrency. Imagine putting funds into a really risky project that has a very small chance of success, most likely the community will be small at a bear market because the market lose a lot of volume and funds, and most of the investors will probably take a break since its the best thing to do after all.

I know some developers that start their own NFT projects and it is not a good start for them because when they start launching their project the market suddenly goes down and that really affects their project affecting investors, Most of the time projects will still earn profit or should I say the developers but most of the project doesn't continue and deliver, so I will avoid projects, especially in a bear market. Everything will skyrocket when the on bull run and that's the best time since investors invest a lot at that time.

1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which cryptocurrency do you prefer the most to accept payments in? on: March 08, 2023, 03:45:38 PM
There are more than 12000 cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, altcoin, litecoin, dogecoin, etherium and so on. We all have our favorite cryptocurrency. Among all of these, which cryptocurrency do you trust and prefer the most to accept payments? Share your thoughts about it.

The best cryptocurrency is bitcoin and probably most people would say bitcoin since it's the best cryptocurrency out there and it is already recognized by a lot of people as well as used on many different platforms already. Even some of the banks and already connected and use bitcoin as a form of investment allowing their users to buy bitcoin on their platform. In my opinion, bitcoin is a great investment because of its supply, and over time the market price is surely going to skyrocket when bitcoin becomes rare because of its supply, but because of that reason, I think bitcoin is not good as a way of online transactions since the market price of bitcoin was so volatile, and the 1 bitcoin already could over 20,000$. So buying bitcoin for transaction means that you are also taking that risk of investment since the bitcoin market price could go down at any moment.

Probably we could use other top 10 cryptocurrencies when it comes to transactions and bitcoin just for investment, or we could just stick to stablecoin because of its stable market price we can rely on its value that it is not going to depreciate over time when you just want to buy online or have a transaction online.
1365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can old people use bitcoin? on: March 08, 2023, 12:04:39 PM
If adoption comes around, will their be higher consumer congenial systems for old people to utilize crypto? What are your phrenic conceptions?

Old human beings are the first to emerge as inclined to scams if adoptions comes around, and I suppose like crypto is a spectacular way for these guys to get screwed.

I don't be conscious of how this is going to work out for old human beings who cannot even know private/public keys let on my very own hot/cold wallets.

I guess it wasn't the problem since all of the users are prone to scams, phishing, etc. If you don't have enough knowledge and don't know how it works in the first place you shouldn't start cryptocurrency or bitcoin or do it since ignorance could easily be the reason why people are getting scammed, its not really about old people, it is just about how you understand the technology, that thing is most of the old people wasn't that techy since they don't have this kind of technology in their generation.

When it comes to adaptation is it going to happened soon on bitcoin, there are some wallets that probably customize there wallet as an easy to used interface that probably most people could easily used but mostly it is going to be custodial wallets, Most wallets that have private key or seed phrase is gonna be complicated, because it is actually complicated to create this kind of wallet but it is the best and most secure wallet where you could store your bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
1366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think that there will be a new technology to recover lost of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2023, 10:22:23 AM
A lot of people posting that they successfully recover their funds for along time but how about those who have lost their Bitcoin? Is it possible in the future that there will be a technology that is specialized in recovering lost in just a matter of minutes or an hour? But on the other side Bitcoin holder are in trouble too as their funds might also be vulnerable and be compromise.
Please more answer to do this please.

All of the lost bitcoin is lost forever without the private key it is impossible to recover your bitcoin, Usually most of the people who offer ways to recover your bitcoin was a scammer, we all know that all you need is the private key to recover it. Except if you're talking about custodial wallets since you could just contact the support to recover your account etc.

I guess it is possible since it's technology, we never know how technology could develop in the future and at some point, they might crack the bitcoin code or any wallets possible. But at the same time, security could keep up with the technology. If somehow they find a way to it, it might be the end of bitcoin since it already crack and there's always a possibility of accessing your bitcoin and taking your funds at that point since they can access a wallet without even the need of the seed phrase or private key or just calculating the possible combination of your privatekey.

Sa tingin ko pwede namang gamitin ang crypto as a way of transactions dito sa pinas.
I agree with you.

1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have bitcoin, what do you guys recommend I buy as well on: March 07, 2023, 07:19:47 PM
I have a good amount of btc that I'm very pleased with. I love btc. Are there any other coins you guys could recommend I buy next? (none of your comments count as financial advice)

I mean the best investment would probably be bitcoin since it was the goat of all of the cryptocurrencies and has the highest chance of getting a bull run in the future because of the supply and demand thing that is happening, so bitcoin will be in demand when the supply becomes low and that would increase its price in the future. To be honest, I would just stick to bitcoin, but yeah there's no fun in that  Grin. But still, you should invest that highest percentage of your investment in bitcoin.

Invest in top altcoins in the market, easy when the bull run comes surely most of the altcoins would skyrocket as well and that would probably be all of the top 10 cryptocurrencies so you could invest in ETH, BNB, XRP, Cardano, Solana, etc. probably 30% of your investment could go in this cryptocurrency. And then the remaining funds you could invest on low-volume coins that you think have the potential to skyrocket something where you could make a gamble a high-risk high reward investment like NFTs.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trust in cryptocurrency? on: March 07, 2023, 06:07:29 PM
Recently, I've been wondering, and based on the people I live with, I'd say that only 20% of them know what cryptocurrency is.
Sometimes I ask my friend or colleague if he knows what Bitcoin is, and if they're young (20-35 years old), they say, "Yes, I've heard about it. But I don't know much about it."
If I'm talking to older people (40–60), mostly they don't know what it is.

We are living in a world of big changes in every aspect of life. But do you think it will be time when cryptocurrency will come into our lives and be normal for all people? Will people be able to trust crypto?

I'm wondering what your opinion is about this.

It obviously understandable why our parents, grandfather, and grandmother do not know what cryptocurrency is, And even these days there are only a few people that know and understand bitcoin or cryptocurrency is, and they are probably traders or investors that buy bitcoin, Bitcoin was created on 2009 and probably started to get popular in 2011 I just stated my bitcoin or investment journey around 2017 so it takes years before I even know what bitcoin is and learn what it is.

Bitcoin is slowly being adopted in different countries and surely most people are getting an idea of what bitcoin is because they heard something about it or heard it from the news etc. Some of the banks here in my country are starting to promote bitcoin and encouraging people to buy bitcoin or cryptocurrency, so probably most of the users are already adopting it so in the future I can see bitcoin as a part of people's normal lives something like banks.

Trust in cryptocurrency is I think the hardest part for most people and probably will take a lot of time for them before they accepted it, bitcoin and cryptocurrency have a bad image because of scams, and some of the old generations don't trust everything online when it comes to online transactions they always have a doubt that it might be or there's a possibility of a scam.
1370  Other / Meta / Re: I'm New and Have a Question on: March 07, 2023, 03:52:43 AM
Hello, everyone.

Two questions actually.

1) Where do I go to discuss experiments with blockchain technologu (for both Bitcoin and an altcoin).

2) May I share my Twitter account?

If you're posting about bitcoin you could post it on bitcoin discussion, talking about bitcoin technology you could get easily make a good discussion about bitcoin technology there, Post here: Bitcoin Discussion As a beginner you should probably start a discussion on the topics there and then if you already have the idea on the format, you could start posting your own discussion.

But for altcoins post it on altcoin discussion any discussion about altcoins post it there. Post it here :Altcoin Discussion Just make sure to only post altcoins-related topics the mods might delete or move your post if it is not related to altcoins.

I think sharing a link to your Twitter account is not allowed, but sharing something that you post related to bitcoin, altcoins, or anything related to the discussion I think will do as a reference. I guess you can add your personal links to your profile. You could add different links on your profile here in the forum something like Skye, yahoo, Messengers, and even your website links or businesses. I mean you could do pretty much add whatever you want to add to your profile since it's your profile anyway.
1371  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: March 06, 2023, 08:29:13 AM

Walang 5% transaction fee dahil direct sa PDAX yung pag buy and sell.

Found this link https://bitpinas.com/learn-how-to-guides/beginners-guide-gcrypto-buy-sell-crypto-ph/ as a guide on how to buy and sell sa Gcrypto.

1372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 06, 2023, 04:33:22 AM
My way to class this morning with some of my lovely course mate, someone raise this question that if our government decide to adopt BTC or make BTC legal how will i feel? I told him that the day our government will announce that BTC is now fully legalized in the country, I will throw a big party to host all the bitcoiners in my environment to join me to celebrate. If your government decide to adopt BTC or make BTC legal in your country, how will you feel?  Will you be among the people that will be angry because i know there are some people in our various places that think BTC is a scam digital currency which is not true, will you go to make them to understand it better in a positive way?

Slowly most of the government is adopting bitcoin, even in my country, bitcoin is slowly getting adopted into different platforms or banks, they now allow their users to be able to buy bitcoin or cryptocurrency on their platform some of these platforms promote buying bitcoin and when users buy bitcoin or just used bitcoin to buy foods, items, etc. you will get a small cashback reward on your account or even have a chance to win jackpot money.

I mean that would be great news if bitcoin was legalized in my country but I guess as long as bitcoin was not illegal so you could basically do everything on your bitcoin. I just feel like it doesn't need to be legalized since even today we just use bitcoin and invest in it. Also legalizing bitcoin would be a long process and probably most of the government would take advantage of it probably bigger fees, etc.

I am a new member of bitcoin forum. Investing in Bitcoin can either be profitable or a loss. I will invest in Bitcoin. I don't know where to invest. Should I put it in Trust Wallet or Binance? Hoping for advice from everyone on where it should be placed? There will be no possibility of hacking. please help and advice?

For starters you could use something like Electrum to store your bitcoin, You could start by buying bitcoin in Binance or you could somehow trade on that platform which is I think the best platform compared to other exchanges. Most people do not recommend exchanges because there is a significant risk when you hold your funds on exchanges so make sure always to put it on your Electrum after you buy your bitcoin, Binance is already a big/number 1 exchange in cryptocurrency so you can say that it will not end up like FTX that easily you could probably store your funds there in a few weeks.

Also, you could just buy a small chunk of bitcoin every week since the market price is so volatile it is a great strategy that most investors do so that when the bull run comes, it always ends up as a profit.
1375  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Negative Perception sa PH Crypto Start-up project on: March 02, 2023, 04:42:49 PM

1376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 28, 2023, 06:18:42 PM
Technology has made life somehow easy for us today. In the days of our father, they had no idea about working online, all their work to make money were done physically, and with strength, either they engaged in mini or mega business that will provide money for them.We thank God for bitcoin, that came as a messiah,to enrich the hopeful. Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking. What do yours tell you?

Well, starting a business is a good start if you want to be rich I mean I think it's the fastest way to do it, so there's nothing wrong about that's just how your father interprets it you can't really blame him for it. At some point yes bitcoin or even this forum could somehow help you to earn some funds or money but we all know that this is not a stable income that you could rely on.

Yes, there are some people who get lucky in cryptocurrency or bitcoin but it doesn't mean that all of us will be billionaires by just investing in bitcoin, remember that cryptocurrency investment is so risky that you could easily lose all of your investment. Also depending on the signature campaign here in the forum is not wise because a signature campaign is not a stable job since it only lasts a few weeks. For me, this could be a great part-time job especially if you are working on computers since using your extra time you could easily use that to make a post here in the forum. Maybe you could somehow make it your full-time job if you are lucky to get accepted in a stable campaign here in the forum.

Alanganing may mangyaring masama pero better safe than sorry!

https://cryptosec.info/wrench-attack/

1379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not invest in crypto from loans. on: February 20, 2023, 11:36:46 PM
I heard that there were people who invested in crypto, and ended up buying crypto and their money from loans, but it's a shame they suffered losses because they invested in altcoins, but they lacked knowledge and lessons about crypto. but with this incident it made me think that investing in crypto should not result from loans because,,,
will make the mind uneasy, and always in the shadow of the deposit every month.

so in my opinion, don't invest from borrowed money because there will be potential losses, what do you think, do you agree with me?

Well, that's obvious since we already know how risky investing in bitcoin is, The market price is so volatile that you could either earn or lose money in just a tiny amount of time.

Investing in cryptocurrency is just like gambling your money since no one actually can predict have the market will move so it is always a risk to invest and there was no certainty that you could get your money back or earn a profit. That's why a lot of expert says that you should just invest a small percentage of your money in bitcoin or any cryptocurrency because the money you invest is not guaranteed to earn like some lucky guy who won the lottery on bitcoin.

So taking loans for bitcoin is just so risky since your gambling to lose it all meaning you could lose all your money if you lose your investment you also need to pay that loan, and most people regret it.
1380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't have high expectations in the crypto world. on: February 19, 2023, 12:41:49 PM
Do you think high expectations are good for crypto beginners
I guess most of us who start in cryptocurrency expect to get rich easily when we invest in it, probably because we know someone or we have a friend that gets lucky on cryptocurrency that gets rich easily. And then when you enter cryptocurrency you also expect that it is an easy investment where you could easily profit when you just invest. And then after losing a lot of your investment you start to learn more about crypto and learn that it is not that easy, that you need to be careful investing in it and not make it something that you would rely on because not all people who invest in it will earn a profit, only a small percentage of investors win and most of the investors are losers.

And then you started to earn profit in investing because you already learn bitcoin, and then it all started from that you are interested already and wanted to share what is cryptocurrency or bitcoin and what it is capable of. For me, it is just normal for a lot of people of beginners to have high expectations, but the truth is we all have high expectations in it that is why we continue to invest in cryptocurrency because we believed on it that someday even though it hit a very low price at the moment, in the future it is going to repeat history where it is going to hit its new high and all of the people who invested when it's low get their reward.
