It sure has great plans ahead. This is gonna be a start of something big . Hopefully 2.0 has plan to improve its forging incentive like a supernode ala NEM or something to attract .

There will be no forging in 2.0, and soon I'm thinking we're going to change the forging on 1.0 as well, making it also a mined system. The two systems will be completely different but both mined, we're doing away with PoS I believe, but at the same time we're going to provide a couple mining styles that use the same amount of power or a tiny tiny bit more than PoS to provide VASTLY superior security and solve all issues with PoS and PoW that exist now.

We believe that PoW type mining is a better solution, but the power consumption is an issue, so we're resolving these issues, one algo will likely be similar to BURST, there will be another that is a completely new type of system that no other coin has ever done. Completely written from the ground up. I'm really excited about this because it will also provide a completely new type of trade market as well, in the buying and selling of mining-enabled accounts.

This way, the people who stake QORA because they don't have big miners, can continue to be involved, the process will just change a little, that's all. Smiley

in the buying and selling of mining-enabled accounts

This is really something new. Guys better keep working on that Smiley Thank you for being there with Qora .

how to use the bootstrap? i extracted it to roaming folder data and it started syncing from scratch....

It is my understanding that the Windows wallet has a certain issue. But it seems all wallets don't like it if you don't close the wallet with file-quit, and let it close out like it should. Seems to corrupt the db if not done, and makes you resync.

The way that I've personally resolved this, is by using the 'universal wallet', then also downloading the data folder that I zipped up, and putting it into the extracted folder for the universal wallet. You can think of the universal wallet as a 'mobile' wallet, meaning the files are contained within that directory, and not put to the %appdata% global variable folder. So with the universal wallet, you place the extracted data folder into the QORA extracted universal wallet folder, then run (on windows) 'run.bat', the wallet will launch and it will launch in a cmd window you can watch. Do not close this window, but instead always close with file-quit on the UI.

Using the universal wallet and the data folder that I uploaded, you should not keep having these issues, given you closing the wallet always with file-quit. (which we're going to be resolving the root cause, these are just some workarounds for now.)

Thanks!

Also, feel free to join the QORA chat (slack alternative hosted on our clusters) - https://alttech.chat/signup_user_complete/?id=mpt4m8wdg38c5qjecus7z7c9cy

and let us know if you have any other issues, and I'll help you to resolve them.

What i did that fixed it was i installed the qora (Qora-v0.26.0.exe) and then i extracted the data.zip to both the folders named 'data' and 'dataBak'. The wallet parsed the chain and now I am at the same block as the block explorer here http://216.126.198.26:9090/index/blockexplorer.html ready to transfer some coins i bought and start helping the network.

Good Job !!! That was my problem .

Great! It seems my efforts were not in vain!

I've just returned from an overnight stay at a friend's for their housewarming party, I'll prep the roadmap and release it shortly! Please keep your wallets open and forging! These are exciting times for QORA.

Thank you!

Now that my client is starting to forge, I'll just wait for some exciting development of Qora.

Can we get back to topic already guys?

Please. Any constructive valid criticism or questions I'm happy to answer. Not interested in bct users that have not done any research on the project.
Let's get the discussion back on track then. Can you tell us a little more about private blockchain implementation? Firstly, who will validate the transactions on this private blockchain? Are the transactions visible to everyone/whole network? How are the members of the private blockchain identified? Who is able to change/modify who is part of the private blockchain?

Read the White Paper?
I did. None of these are adequately answered. Here' the relevant section of the whitepaper from page10:

A secure blockchain network will typically consist of hundreds or even thousands of computers running the same protocol. Consequently, there are significant advantages to employing an established network with proven stability and security, rather than starting from scratch. Although it is possible to develop applications on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, the first and still the best-known and most secure cryptocurrency network, there are good reasons why few businesses would want to so. Bitcoin has comparatively slow 10-minute confirmation times, and periodic attacks on the network means that transactions can be delayed for hours; addressing these effectively requires a controversial hard fork and the pace of development is slow. Businesses have no control over upgrades or other changes to the network such as the capacity of each block and the rate that transactions that may be processed. Thus Bitcoin’s security advantages come at a cost of significant rigidity and unpredictability.

By contrast, Stratis private chains allow developers complete freedom to customise their implementation for their specific needs, whilst the underpinning ‘parent’ blockchain is established enough to give users a high degree of confidence in its security. For example, if a business requires large block sizes to accommodate a high volume of transactions; rapid block times to enable low-latency trading; controlled transactions so that only approved users can submit a request to the network; a given rate of inflation; or additional space for metadata in each block, any or all of these can be specified at launch. The private chain can be accessed by straightforward APIs, meaning that stand-alone applications can rapidly be developed.

Basically technical aspects of Stratis were all introduced in the whitepaper. Dude what you are asking are beyond the dev's plan. So advance that I cannot comprehend what answers do you want from the dev. Sure there are several blockchain platform projects that are emerging now with the features that are not as of now been incorporate with stratis. Eventually I may say , dev will soon adjust as development goes by.

Keeping an eye on this one. I think it is a very good project.

Hi

blockchain db keep on reverting back to first block  if I copied downloaded data folder. What can I do to make the client use the downloaded db?

Did you download this newer Data file?
https://cloud.crowetic.com/s/3rUsS3CAEwc6Ze8

Delete the files in the data directory data.dat, data.dat.p, data.dat.t and paste the new ones in and it should sync up. I had problems with the Mac wallet dropping out like that and then it would sync from zero but so far it is holding stable after the new data files are copied.

That was what I did . It keeps on reverting back. I don't know the reason why it keeps on overwriting the downloaded file when the client starts up.

That link is a newer file there was one previous that didn't work right. What OS are you on? Double check your Time and Date also?

Date is on time OS is windows 7

I'll try the newer link thank you

Do you use universal or windows version? Windows version has the data folder in %appdata%/qora universal version has the default data folder in the installation dir. So make sure to put it at the right place.

Both tried and both reverted every time I put the downloaded data files.  Guess I fed up with it and instead wait for the whole blockchain to be download by the client itself. As of now it has 53 % , oh well I'll just have to wait.

Bob and the gang trying to tarnish this so people keep waiting and don't buy in. He's trying to keep the price low as he scraps his pennies to not miss probably the biggest gain of 2016-2017.
What's all this talk about Bob and his boys? What does he do exactly?

Dont mind it . Synonymous only to pump and dump thing.

Today and onwards the Lucky node lottery will run 18 times a day. Mine yourself some NXT, your average laptop can do it. More info:

Does the node has to be hallmarked to be qualified in the bounty program? Thanks

After ICO ends , approx. how much time will you send BTC bounties for translation?

During the weekend we will pay the translations.

Regards

We will just be PM our BTC address for it to claim?

Where are the fudster when you need them? Back to 4 k soon

You being high rank should know the plan. Fud fud fud and then the fudsters disappear and we go to the moooon. Well back over 4k and maybe 5k.

Being as high as this certainly knows what to do . Practicality is just awesome but stupidity is not . So what is the problem with that? Being a newbie likes to react with no brainer.
