Could be jumping the gun here, but is Coinbase down?

EDIT: It now reads this: Coinbase is currently offline

No cached version is available.

The most likely causes:

The server is down for maintenance
There may be a network problem
The site may be experiencing excessive load
Retry for a live version of the site

We'll post updates on Twitter if the problem persists

Down here too
Ditto

COINBASE IS BACK ONLINE NOW!

Sad

Was expecting more cheap coins by panic people Sad
1362  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rate of bitcoin searches increasing again on: January 07, 2015, 12:59:11 AM
Are you people seriously this retarded? Look at the data for February/March during the Mt Gox implosion. Huge spike in searches, and price falling. So many stupids... exact same thing happening now!!!1

Difference is Gox acted in the most unprofessional and shady way they could.

If they refunded everyone odds are the prices would rise instead
1363  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there buyers for bitcointalk accounts? on: January 07, 2015, 12:50:54 AM
These days with fewer campaigns and bitcoin prices(so campaign payout lower in USD) the demand is lower.
Might change in the future, since Stunna promised re open PD

Have to say I'm surprised I didn't have to tweak the scaling factor between Stamp and Finex. Quite similar market depths there.

I'm impressed by how stable the finex feed is, no more missing data segments, yet.

I wonder if those problems with the stamp feed were some kind of signal or precursor?

You guys are daytrading again, aren't you Roll Eyes

not those who left all their coins on stamp
1365  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Trading Simulator] A fun and free Speculation Game [49 participants] on: January 07, 2015, 12:41:16 AM
Results so far:

1. The best strategy is HODL. All HODLers are at the top quarter.
2. Among those who thinks they are smart/lucky enough to trade, 95% are in loss. They gave their money to the 5% that are really smart/lucky Smiley

I was a HODLER until few days ago and I'm in last position  Grin

(don't regret for my sell because until everything gets clarified about Bitstamp I think sit in buy position is too risky)

So far the money hodlers are in better shape, in general, because the median is around 90
1366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2015, 12:36:44 AM
It appears there is 24 - 48 hours to go before Bitstamp re-opens.

If they don't reopen I will be sure we are under a gox 2,0 event. If they re open I think things will be back to normal.

At least less time until we know what is going on
1367  Economy / Gambling / Re: WIN88.ME - 2K FAUCET - AUTOBET - INVEST - DICE | LOTTO | RPSLS on: January 07, 2015, 12:20:54 AM
That 2k faucet... So darn nice. Win88 is one of my favorites.

Yeah... that is for trial and not for profit though..

If you want to win big, have to bet big. Smiley

Or you can try 999x and wish for luck

(but still around 0.1 profit)
1368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: January 07, 2015, 12:16:37 AM

Bitfinex

Explanation

ChartBuddy switched to Bitfinex! unignore him as soon as possible.  Shocked

Why did you put him in the ignore list?

I always loled and smiled with the GOXED picture, no matter how many times I've seen it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M903V-uwGg  for the people who use this it's updated now Smiley

and for the people who think it's a virus fuck off!

SHA256 is not crackable by any means with modern computing, so anyone that claims to be able to do so is probably lying for their own benefit.
Even if SHA256 was crackable, the program would need to know the nonce value (Bets Made With Pair).

People claiming that they have a software able to predict the results of rolls only want install malware into your computer.

Don't fall for such silly trap
1370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trading Simulator - A fun and free Speculation Game [48 participants] on: January 05, 2015, 07:44:04 PM

1371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too high transaction fees? on: January 05, 2015, 04:27:56 PM
0.0001 transaction fee is around 3 cents. Not really high.

You that have too few money
1372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2015, 04:25:23 PM
why is the price not going down??

because prices already went down from 300+ to 270 and lower. People already are in their position and waiting what gonna happens
1373  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask TF thread on: January 05, 2015, 04:17:09 PM
Why do you keep changing your name?

he is being $username for quite a time.

I guess the change name times ended
1374  Economy / Gambling / Re: Request for making a bot ! on: January 05, 2015, 04:08:31 PM
just so u guys know all this is not profitable, its a ponzi more or less. sites like primce dice etc

Agree that using "strategy" on dice won't be profitable, but why do you consider PrimeDice as a ponzi? The bets are provably fair, and the site has been here for a long time.

For some reason "ponzi" becomes a synonymic for "scam" in some people's vocabulary

1375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2015, 04:05:11 PM
I hope people weren't using Stamp to hold coins that they weren't planning to sell.
They'd be fucking stupid to do so after Gox.

stupidity is bigger than all mankind.

Also some traders might accept the risk of being goxxed for the profits of shorting, so it is like a bet, not stupidity
1376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am the poorest early adopter in the world on: January 05, 2015, 04:01:34 PM
At least you just sign uped in Gox then did nothing.

Some people borrowed money or invested personal savings and hold them in Gox, and lost them all.

No profit but no loss is not as bad as you might think
1377  Economy / Gambling / Re: Advanced Gambling Simulator on: January 05, 2015, 03:57:57 PM
Do you have any news about dice simulator sir?  Grin

Many people are waiting  Cool

All dice sites I know accept 0btc bets for testing.

And some allow you do make bots, so you can test your strategy with the faucet
1378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2015, 03:51:58 PM
Has the theft of 18k coins been confirmed then?

no.
They said that most of the coins are in cold storage and safe.

If chose if you believe them or not
1379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2015, 03:42:54 PM
How do you think Stamp hack will affect bitcoin price when they open trades again?

Will price drops?

TY!

depends what happens in the next hours and days. If everything back to normal soon and trades get reestablished, then prices probably will recover.

If things keep as they are or people can't withdraw money things will get worse
