1361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallets without fees and stupid people on: January 16, 2017, 02:18:24 PM
well i don't know what that user means or why he is so mad but let me explain what is going on:

when you are using a bitcoin wallet you have to pay the fees because that is how bitcoin works, you need to pay a specific amount of fee per byte for every transaction you want to send. you can send with 0 fees but miners can also decide not to include your tx in a  block.

but when you are using a third party service instead of a wallet, such as xapo or i think coinbase too, they offer special features such as no fee to attract more users. but in fact they are paying the transaction fee from their own pocket and it is just a promotion.
also when you use these services you give up control over private keys and your money to them.

Good explanation, Circle also have a 0 fee in place for transactions, they still provide a bitcoin wallet service but you can no longer buy and sell bitcoin.  Agreed, that user seemed quite upset and angry at someone coming to the forum looking for advice sheesh!
1362  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: my blockchain online wallet meesed up on: January 16, 2017, 02:13:52 PM

hi

thanks for reply.

now all is in order. i just cant understand what happened.

is it possible that wallet was out of sync for few hours?

im very confused
Glad it's all sorted now, perhaps for some reason it was grouping your 11 transaction into 1, if they were all to or from the same address they could just have shown them in one, who knows really what goes on over there.

As long as your balance is correct and your funds are still there, that's the main thing.  I have only started using Blockchain so haven't encountered these things happening ....yet.
1363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily use of bitcoin? on: January 16, 2017, 01:05:30 PM
I have ever only used bitcoin online so the confirmation times have not been that frustrating for me.

I can imagine it would depend on the merchant and how they would verify the payment as being made, if they are happy to see that it is on the blockchain and awaiting confirmation that would speed things up, this could cause some issues as someone might pay a minuscule fee that will take forever to go through which would cause the merchant to have to wait to get their payment.

If the future updates go ahead it should help this situation.
1364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who made big money? on: January 16, 2017, 12:53:36 PM
I would see big money as in the thousands and in order to be making that on these spikes you would need a few coins, I am just waiting for it to go up again and next time we might see it closer to the $2k mark.
1365  Economy / Speculation / Re: $200 is on the way on: January 12, 2017, 02:57:36 PM
Haha no way, if it does then we are all in trouble, no way can it drop that low and if it does it could only happen in the next few months.  I think we will be back up to the $900 mark and stay there for at least Q1.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COVAL] Circuits Of Value - Loyalty and Rewards Platform [LOYYAL] on: January 12, 2017, 11:29:34 AM
Usually receive a monthly update on the blog around the 16th, never got a December one and now with the wallet disabled perhaps we are finally moving over to Counterparty and will have some forward movement with this coin.
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poor performance of altcoins on this BTC crash on: January 11, 2017, 04:26:34 PM
Yeah it all seems to be going the wrong way, just have to wait a while and see what becomes of this period before we will see everything back to normal, if you can call anything normal in this world.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase intends to become a digital currency company not a bitcoin company on: January 11, 2017, 12:49:10 PM
I see this as a positive move for Coinbase, from their point of view they will be gaining the extra income via the fees, my only hope is that they do not get over excited and add a lot of bad coins like other exchanges such as Yobit.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN-ICO][LITHIUM][XLTH] ICO LIVE - 100% NEW CODE - EXCHANGE LAUNCHED! on: January 09, 2017, 07:36:11 AM

Maybe dev needs suggestions/recommendations...

With no 2fa ? This is screaming cash grab Roll Eyes

Look guys, there is no source code, the whitepaper is all a bunch of heeby jeeby off the top of your head crap, the distribution is flawed on the Free/Signature/ICO side as there seems to be a lot of Bitcointalk users that received more then ICO investors that were paying BTC0.1 for 10K XLTH Huh How does that work and now you want to sell your "Exchange that you built from scratch" for BTC1 which wasn't even announced anywhere near the start of this project and you just announce spur of the moment, this is all after accusations have flown around in here like an Ebola infected sneeze with multiple important things that have yet to be addressed.

"This Project is cool & legit because I received free coins" the intellect here from most posters is astonishing Cheesy
I have to agree with you on this one.  Distribution is a joke, free coins far outweigh the ICO and these will just be dumped.  Beyond the distribution it is all a bit shady especially after the accusations made, IF this ever hits a real exchange it will dump hard and the dev will be away.
1370  Economy / Speculation / Re: I feel really bad for those selling into this rally.... on: January 05, 2017, 01:20:01 PM
I think we'll hover around this level for a little while before a steady push upwards, if people need the money now then cash out and try to catch it back a little lower but don't be thinking we'll be seeing the $700 mark again.
1371  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has gone beyond gold prices on: January 05, 2017, 01:17:06 PM
Bitcoin every time, it has the potential to be far greater in value than gold maybe not in the short term.  Bitcoin is also much more fun than gold, we know about gold and there is no innovation with gold it just sits there Smiley
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: January 05, 2017, 08:37:11 AM
Litecoin will take it's time but it will catch up, hopefully up to levels we saw a couple of years ago.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: So should I make this bet with 1 bitcoin? on: January 04, 2017, 04:51:30 PM
That's pretty shady of them, knowing or hoping based on your history that you will get an itchy finger and end up risking your winnings on further bets, basically taking advantage of the gambling man.

Good move to go elsewhere and this thread should help to warn others to be careful with this sportsbook.
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN-ICO][LITHIUM][XLTH] ICO LIVE - 100% NEW CODE - EXCHANGE DIVIDENDS - DAO on: January 04, 2017, 12:26:52 PM
I don't understand that Free coin distribution and ICO running at same time.
Why would someone participate in ICO when he can have free coins?
I think because the amount of free coins is constantly decreasing, it started at a couple of hundred and is now down to 38, the ICO allows the investor to purchase a lot more.
1375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell your bitcoins within a month or two on: January 04, 2017, 08:11:36 AM
I agree that it will go down again obviously but I don't think down to the levels you mention, I think maybe down to $800 at the lowest.
1376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is YOBIT Altcoin collecting worth the time and effort? on: January 03, 2017, 10:33:34 PM
It really isn't worth the time, most of those coins are dead and have no development.  You would be better spending those 20 minutes on faucets and even then you will only ever gather dust.
1377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Actually Drop? When? on: January 02, 2017, 11:56:55 PM
It will drop as it always does but I think / hope that it drops too $900 or $800 at the lowest, I think this time around we see a much more stable and slightly more experienced coin.
