1361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners - Keep your rooms clean, keep your backups ready to use & bring away on: March 07, 2023, 01:29:12 PM
It is dumb to write something as valuable as recovery seed on a piece of paper, of cos something bad will happen to it very fast, you can on your fan and the paper goes missing, someone can come into your room and play with the paper until they ruff handle the paper and throw into the dustbin or somewhere. Write the seed down in a strong book and keep the book where you can lock it up, or stainless steel is even more reliable,  this has been discussed too many times on the forum, find one and use nail or a sharp object to carve the words on the stainless steel.
1362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 07, 2023, 09:15:18 AM
Bitcoin sats are more valuable than USD, it's good you noticed that.

Next time, always plan for an emergency fund, as a Bitcoin investor, it is better to always have some funds for emergency reasons, do not invest all you have because when the needy comes you will have no choice than to go back into your portfolio and start selling some portion of your satoshis, and trust me, this will cost you,  because value doesn't always stays the same.

Here is my way, could be useful for you.

If you make 100$, always keep 50$ apart for survival reasons, maybe keep in your bank account.

Do not be brainwashed with the idea of going all in on Bitcoin, you aren't ready for this, in your case.

Try to make money from other sources, this will make your investment plan more easier.
1363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 07, 2023, 07:24:00 AM
The only gambling groups on telegram are those that are ready to take advantage of each other, it is a bad idea to look for one, you will start getting PMs from strangers and many malicious links will be sent to you,  if you want a gamblers group that badly I guess you can start with WhatsApp group and start adding people up, make sure some rules and regulations are in place, trust me, Telegram is a bad idea for this.
1364  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Could a small miner actually randomly solve a Bitcoin block on: March 06, 2023, 03:40:51 PM
Yes it could be possible to solved a block but it takes time and like the above said you very low chance to get valid blocks to mine due to difficulty.

They mostly called it the lottery if you run a single USB stick to mine solo.
Not all people are lucky but some people that I heard they mined a block with 25btc or 12.5btc reward before.
Are you sure that this is in the case of running a single USB? The hashrate of those USB miners are very small, if anyone would like to try their luck with solo mining today they should use an ASIC miner with 20+terahash and it should always be on, this is pure gambling and it could take years to solve a single block but nothing is impossible.
1365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Writing down the words under same roof as my siblings on: March 06, 2023, 02:19:21 PM
Offline is the safest approach to keep your keys safe, I recommended carving all the phrases on a stainless steel that you can find, it doesn't have to be a round shape steel like a plate, it can be that of a box shape, carve the phrases on it and find a safe location to hide the stainless steel,  this is way safer than trying to cram some words off-head, what happens if you lose your memory or some kind of an accident happened.
1366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Life After 10 years in Bitcoin... on: March 06, 2023, 09:32:45 AM
I have never felt complete in my life before until I found Bitcoin 7 years ago and thanks to my deceased father I was able to keep my focus alive on crypto and learn more about Bitcoin, I started investing in Bitcoin in 2017 and so far it has been a thrilling journey, there were losses and there were big gains as well.

I was able to bring many friends along and a few of my family too, that's after they grew confident,  now I am even accepting Bitcoin as means of payment. A few of my friends have started accepting Bitcoin payments at their stores too.

Bitcoin is the best thing that has ever happened in my life.
1367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Consistency But don't give up. on: March 06, 2023, 07:31:12 AM
It is easier said than done.

Do you know what consistency really is? It's like fighting your inner demons every day, where is consistency when you are not self-disciplined? It's like a car without its engine.

I see that your main point is about creating posts and topics on the forum, remember,  you are not doing this to get recognized,  we can't even see each others faces on here, so, do not force it, create posts only when you really feel like making some valid contributions.

1368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before you buy your first bitcoin take note on: March 04, 2023, 06:14:08 PM
The set of people that don't want to read anything about bitcoin are those that use other people for the investment hassle instead.

They are the type that will beg you to help them buy Bitcoin instead of doing it themselves, trust me, no one buy Bitcoin without knowing what it actually is, at least, some part must be understood.

Buying Bitcoin is taking responsibility, of your hard-earned money.

Not taking responsibility only happens when you want someone else to do it for you, meaning,  you will escape from the hassle of doing research and readings yourself, which still puts you in the dark.
1369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know which Bitcoin wallets provides complete anonymity & privacy? on: March 03, 2023, 06:16:19 AM
How can these bitcoin wallets provide complete anonymity and privacy when they are meant to always be online? What you need is a hardware wallet with an air-gapped feature, completely offline is the only solution.

Hackers rely on internet connection or USB slot connection to steal your information,  when it comes to air-gapped devices there is no way hackers can take advantage of your wallet,  they are always offline.
1370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 02, 2023, 08:32:48 AM
100k per Bitcoin in 2024 is still not certain, the last price was 67k and I believe that 80 to 90k will be easy for Bitcoin, but no one knows for sure if Bitcoin will cross the 100k target or not and you shouldn't have posted the image of the jewelry, you don't know who is reading your post, so do not underestimate this forum, we can't see each other for real but information is sometimes a weapon of mass destruction.
1371  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Thinking of separating my holdings into two physical locations. on: March 02, 2023, 06:42:09 AM

What do you think? I don't think it would make sense, for example to have copies of the seeds of both HW's at both sites because in a $5 wrench attack I could lose everything.

One drawback I see is that if the house burns down I would lose everything I manage with one HW, but well, that risk I also had now, having 100% of the management of my holdings in one site.

It depends on you. I personally have my main cold-storage seeds in encrypted USBs, hidden in different secret locations. One secret location is in my house, another one in my car, another at work, and the last one in my old room in my parents' house. They all look cheap, ordinary USBs, with directories named "My Files" with old useless/random files from work scattered with the encrypted folder nested in another folder with more random files that contains the seeds. The USBs can only be opened in Linux
This is very smart, can you tell me how you setup the USB that it can only be opened in Linux OS? I think this will be very useful for me because many people don't like using Linux OS, for example, in my country you will never see anyone running Linux on their PC, it is always Windows OS.

I don't know if will come across this reply, if you do pls drop a message or PM about how you make this work.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 02, 2023, 06:23:17 AM
You only share your good news, not your gambling strategy, I hope newbies won't get hooked with this type of news and start developing some kind of unrealistic dream, makes sure you know what you are doing and gamble responsibly with the amount you are ready to lose. Avoid getting addicted to gambling by all means.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 01, 2023, 03:20:49 PM
William Shakespear said,  'there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. The nature of things is neutral and it is our perception and thinking that gives them a positive or negative meaning. In the same vein I say, there is nothing either good or bad with gambling, but our actions and inactions make it so. People who gamble their entire savings and have the guts and shamelessness to come online and say "Gambling is Bad. Stay away from it" must understand that gambling itself is neither good nor bad, but our actions and behaviors surrounding it determine whether it is beneficial or detrimental.
William Shakespeare must have lost his goddamn mind for saying that there is nothing good or bad, only thinking makes it so.

We have SIN for a reason, the human mind have a conscience for the same reason too, if I am born of a serial killer there is a chance that I have the same killing hunger inside of me, I don't have to think or feel, so killing people to me is just normal as far as I don't think it's bad, this is disgusting of him to say that.
1374  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 01, 2023, 02:09:07 PM
Everyone has their financial regrets, I had a chance to buy good numbers of Ethereum years ago and it costs me around 1000$, I don't know how valuable Ethereum will be in the future so I sold all the coins and instead invest on one shit altcoin, I end up losing all the money, I also bought mining rigs at the wrong timing, so I was unable to make back my money, though, this was because Ethereum is no longer a proof of work project, if not, I would have made all my money back right now.
1375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fruit of greed is never good,, on: March 01, 2023, 08:42:20 AM
Looks like you are now shaming your friend for making this mistake, how is greed involved in this story of yours? Unless there is more to the message you claimed he got on telegram? Do you mind sharing that? No one is above this mistake and it shall pass, he has learned a lesson and he will be more careful in the future. He give up access to his fund by connecting the wallet to the platform, I have made such a mistake before, though the money I lost is not much and I learned.
1376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A question on transaction speed. on: March 01, 2023, 07:28:22 AM
If you are impatient when you want to send bitcoin from one wallet to another just add more to the gas fee, not all wallets support this but there are some that do, the higher the gas fee the faster the transaction speed, there are also other factors affecting this too, like miners and block, etc.

On crypto exchanges, you have no choice but to go ahead with the fixed withdrawal fee, that's why I always check gas fee comparisons on exchanges, some have higher fees and some have a lower fees just like Binance exchange vs Huobi exchange.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Valve's Steam Deck as a Mining Machine? on: March 01, 2023, 07:20:07 AM
I have this device and I am getting addicted to it, because it's way more relaxing to game on than using a gaming PC, I don't think the device can handle crypto proof of work algorithm without ruining the device, I don't even want to try this because it costs me 700$ to get this device, including shipping fee.
1378  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining in a country with power challenges. on: February 28, 2023, 05:06:19 PM
In a country where grid power is constantly epileptic, it is bad for an average Joe to go out and purchase an ASIC miner to mine Bitcoin, in the such country it is better to abandon the idea of buying an ASIC miner, you are better off buying Bitcoin with the money and hold.

If you have extra money that you aren't in rush to make back, then you can invest that in solar energy, mind you, your return of investment ( ROI ) will take a longer time to acquire, because you now have to make back the money you spent solar panels, batteries, and inverter, apart from the ASIC miner itself.
1379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Confirmations... Why they keep coming? on: February 28, 2023, 11:58:41 AM
Good question, I don't need to answer anymore because you have gotten the right answer from others already but have you noticed confirmation requirements when trying to send BTC to an exchange?

When you send Bitcoin to some exchanges, the exchange will inform you that you will be credited after 6 confirmations on the block or 2 or even 1, depending on what the exchange requires, to me this adds layers of safety protection for exchanges but it doesn't matter when sending Bitcoin to a friend, 1 confirmation is all you need for the other wallet to receive Bitcoin.
1380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good wallet I can use to store Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2023, 08:27:32 AM
Download Electrum and use it for the time being only, I don't feel too confident with mobile wallets compared to hardware wallets, have it at the back of your mind and save up for a hardware wallet instead,

After you download Electrum wallet on your smartphone make sure you right down the recovery seed in a safe location, I still have mine written on a stainless steel plate I took from the kitchen, I carved the whole words on the plate and put the plate in my wardrobe that has a key lock.
