The lack of crowds has been extremely disappointing in this World Cup. I am sure everyone was expecting a lot more people than this.

People are losing interest in the 50 overs formats, especially in a country like India, where everyone is crazy for T20. Another reason is the games are starting in the Afternoon when the temperature is high. By evening the stadium looks better than afternoon when crowds do come in to watch the matches.

The match between South Africa and Sri Lanka is going to be another waste of time. The way Srilankans are bowling South Africa might score more than 400 runs. It is very bad to see how Srilankan cricket has deteriorated in just a few years. They were once a team that had bowlers like Vaas and Murlitharan, now they do not have bowlers who are anything near to the legends.

Pakistan team bowled out for 286 runs in 49 overs. They must be be pleased to give a target of 287 to Netherlands under current circumstances. Babar Azam has so many records to his name but never seen him performing when required. If Netherlands can bowl out Pakistani batting lineup then what they will do against teams like Australia and England.

What you are saying about Babar Azam is unfair, the Pakistan team should not be dependent on one single player. Today we saw most of the batter after Babar contributed to the target of 287. Even the tail-enders did their level best to get Pakistan to the expected score. The Netherlands did bowl and fielded well, they did their homework but they lost the advantage that they had initially. Now we will see some of the best bowling by Pakistan in order to win the match.

I do not recall seeing them active on the local board or in the forum for quite some time now. amishmanish was active long once or twice but has gone into hibernation Grin. erikalui I do not think I have seen any activities from the user. It is a good initiative by OP, please add me to the directory that you are creating.

I feel that Pakistan is in difficult situation at this time after losing batsman player of Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel these players build up awesome Batting collaboration and I believe both these batters made half century and made good score for Netherlands team. But this could not be possible Muhammad Rizwan out by Bas de Leede after making 68 score and Saud Shakeel out by Aryan Dutt after making 68 score. Netherlands bowler Bas de Leede fall down 4 batsmans of Pakistan team and in this match both have equal chance for getting victory few overs are left and Pakistan scored 267 runs and this is last wicket of Pakistan team if they got out then batting is overed.

They were in a difficult situation but the tail-enders batter sensibly and were able to cross the projected score of 280. Considering the bowling attack that Pakistan has it won't be easy for Netherlands batters to chase the target. I would say it is an excellent comeback by the Pakistani team in this match. I never hoped that they would struggle so much initially against the Netherlands bowlers. I have no doubt that today's Netherlands was a different team in the first 10 overs of the match. They lost their momentum when Rizwan and Shakeel came to bat together. The ball in now in the hands of the Pakistani bowlers and I am sure they would be able to win the match.

Netherlands won the toss and choose to bowl. The wicket again looking good for the bowlers. Van Beek got the first wicket of Fakar Zaman, his bad form continues. He couldn't anticipated the slower ball. Intial stage of the match, Babar is on the field and he is in good form. Pakistan are the favourite to win this match. One thing that is again bothering me is why the stadium is empty. I can hardly see any crowd in the stadium.
Pakistan started very poorly, they had lost 3 wickets in the first ten overs. Then a good partnership between Rizwan and Shakeel helped them to get good runs onboard. As for now they have lost 8 wickets and have scored 252 runs. They do have 8 overs left but the last pair is on the pitch. I expected them to give a target of 280 or more runs to Netherlands. If the bowlers do their job properly today they would be able to defend a total of less than 280 runs.

Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra were supposed to open the batting. The New Zealand management wanted to test Will Young, which I think was a bad choice. These two guys have been training and practicing together since Rachin Ravindra was just a teen. I heard it when the commentators were discussing his debut and his identical chemistry with Conway. I also saw how these two guys complement each other with the number of runs scored by each one of them.

This game as per my understanding has gone out of the hands of the England team. Another 10 overs left for this match to end with they way these guys are batting now.

TalkImg is not like Imgur, you do not need to add BBcode manually as it provides you with those links. After uploading the image, click on the first drop-down menu where it says Embed codes and you get the image link with BB codes.

TalkImg was created by joker_josue keeping in mind the issues faced by users of Bitcointalk. It is so simple to use, even if someone does not have a clue how to use BBcode they can still use it with some understanding. The recommended image extension would be PNG and not JPG.

This match is slowly getting engrossing after Sam Curran took the first wicket. Rachid is on the pitch, this guy has the ability to hit the oddball and can rotate runs. Conway is in no hurry as he is still going with the ones and twos. The target is not that big for these guys to chase as a target of more than 300 runs would not be easy. New Zealand has been a different team today after their poor performance against England in the bilateral series. A good partnership is what they need to chase and win the match.
1369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 05, 2023, 11:41:54 AM
England was off to an excellent start, but then New Zealand came back to the game strongly with 4 quick wickets. England were 64/1, but now they are struggling at 125/4. And we know how the pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad behaves. Anything less than 300 is not going to be enough for the team that is batting first. Joe Root and Jos Buttler are at the crease right now, and they are trying to rebuild the innings. If they can get Poms to 200 by the 35th over without losing any further wickets, then there is a good chance that England may end up with a good total.
I think England didn't took them seriously and they bat like against a normal team but NewZeland is now well improved team with a chance of stronger contender of semifinalist and as a result England lose much more important wickets and look like they will be stuck below 300 will be not a difficult target to chase if they took a better start, as we have seen during warm-up matches all those teams won who chase so may be NewZeland does same but not predicting any team victory will be meaningless because anything can happens.
Any way buttler and root are on a create with a mindset to took the game deep and build some significant partnership which will really realse Pressure from them and they will easily scored a decent target. Now they scored around 100 partnership and still makeing it bigger let see who took such starting important game

New Zealand is bowling really well, it is not that England did not take them seriously. The bowlers have been a to break the partnership whenever their captain needed them. England batters are struggling because the New Zealand team has been good on the field and is bowling a perfect line. The projected score is still above 290 which can trouble the New Zealand batters. England does have a good pace and spin attack. If they are facing the heat now then the opponent would face the same heat. Sam Curran is on the pitch, he can hit the ball out of the ground. They only need a couple of good overs to come back into the game.

At this time cricket posts are at their peak because of the World Cup. The warm matches were finished and now the actual matches of the World Cup have been started. The New Zealand bowling is going very well, and I hope it will go.

On the other hand, England's batting is also very good. Kane Williamson didn't play today's match. This thing hurt New Zealand the most. Smiley

New Zealand is bowling really well, another wicket is gone. Butler is out without scoring a 50, good bowling by Henry. Kane Williamson did play the practice match, not sure why he skipped the first match. England was in serious trouble, both Butler and Root were starting to form a good partnership. Root is still batting but he doesn't look aggressive for now, maybe he wants to get to his century first before opening his hand. They have lost 5 wickets and have managed to score 189 runs.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 05, 2023, 09:55:44 AM
Ravindra to Brook, the first ball goes for a four. The second ball again goes for a 4 in the same direction. The third goes for a big 6 again in the same direction. The fourth ball again tried for 6 in the same direction but got caught by Conway. He got overwhelmed and overconfident that he could hit every ball out of the ground. That was unnecessary as the England team now needs a partnership. They have lost 3 wickets for 100 runs on the scoreboard. If they continue to play carelessly then they won't be able to give New Zealand a big target.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 05, 2023, 09:34:45 AM
Bad start for the England team, they lost both their openers. The current run rate is below 5 and Ben Stokes is not playing today. I thought this was a batting track but I can see the ball moving on it. Newzealand has been bowling good, Henry & Santner have tied up the batters. It is creating pressure on the batters, another's wicket could be in the pipeline.

Did anyone play the Google mini cup? You will find it when you check the live score on Google. It is intresting and if you are bored you could give it a try. I played it, scored only 8 runs before the duck bowled me.

I'll never forget those messed up memories. Umpiring was ridiculous while the ICC rules were even more ridiculous. Those fools ended up getting rid of the boundary rule thanks to all the negative criticism.

England knows damn well that they won the cup thanks to luck alone though that controversy helped make the match the craziest big tournament final to date.

That was a different time, it has been more than 4 years now I guess with that drama. In this World Cup, they would be playing in a different condition, without much support from their board. I still think England for now is the best team when we talk about white-ball cricket. They won the T20 Cup and they might win the ODI Cup. I feel the England side is much better than the Indian team, they have the best bowling attack, and they have a good batting lineup till the end. The unpleasant things that happened in the past have to be forgiven and forgotten otherwise we cannot enjoy the present.

I am not sure about other parts of India, but in Eastern and Southern India, rains are not that infrequent in October. The BCCI/ICC should have scheduled the tournament in November-December, rather than starting the tournament in October. But then, I guess other considerations in play, as some of the bilaterals are scheduled during that time. Anyway, the media rights holders are not going to be happy. Disney-Star paid $3.04 billion for the India rights alone (that too for a 4-year period) and they won't be very pleased if a number of matches get washed out.
Disney-Star already struggling in India with normal content. With rain and if games are being abandoned then surely they won't be happy about it. As I have said earlier these are not monsoon rain, they are unexpected rains that is not in control of BCCI. The broadcaster cannot blame the Indian board as it is a ICC tournament hosted by India. Now, they can only pray that they are able to broadcast all matches without any rain issue.
1375  Local / India / India is creating a Global database of Crypto Exchanges. on: October 04, 2023, 11:24:13 AM
I recently came across this news on Economic times. All global CEX have been or are being requested to share their user database to the government of India. Every major CEX has made it mandatory for its users to pass KYC, it will be easy for them to collate the data and share it with India. India took this responsibility as it had the Presidency of the G20 summit 2023.

The problem that India will face is that these exchanges are based in countries that are tax heaven, those exchanges cannot be forced to share the data. India has time till March 2024 to come up with the database before the next G20 summit in 2024. Once the database is created it will be shared with the G21 group to fight against crime commited using cryptocurrency.

What do you think will be the impact of this database to the Indian community that are using International centralized exchanges?

Thanks.

The first match of the 2023 World Cup is going to start tomorrow with the match between England and New Zealand. Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Studio is already ready. England and New Zealand have already reached Ahmedabad for the opening match of the World Cup. There may be an opening match ceremony today with captains of each team and Bollywood stars, but some popular Indian media reported that the opening ceremony of this World Cup may not take place, but no official news has been received from BCCI. The opening ceremony of a big tournament like the World Cup certainly makes the tournament more interesting. We hope that the 2023 World Cup will be inaugurated with a grand opening ceremony.

There won't be any opening ceremony before the match tomorrow. There is Captains' Day happening today with all the 10 captains at the same venue, it will be photo-ops and press conference. Not much glitter and glam before the World Cup begins this year in India. I am not sure about the reason as there is nothing mentioned in the Indian media.

The first match would be a thrilling match. I feel the England team looks better then the Newzealand side. If I had to bet then I would surely go for England. I have checked the odds and it does favour the English side.
1377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 04, 2023, 09:15:56 AM
Heavy rains are predicted in cities such as Kolkata, Bengaluru and Guwahati for the next week or so, and this will definitely have an impact on the group stage matches in the world cup. These are unseasonal rains, but even then the scheduling of the world cup raised a few eyebrows even before the first ball was bowled in the warmup matches. I don't have any concern for the latter stages of the tournament, as the weather conditions are likely to improve from mid-October onwards. But the next 1-2 weeks may witness a lot of rain in India.

Nothing can be done about the rains as they are unexpected. At this time of year in India rains generally do not happen like it is happening now. Some group stage matches might get affected due to the rain, it would be really unfortunate it they get abandoned. It would be again unfair if DLS comes into action in a rain interrupted match. Then again it is prediction by the weather department and prediction sometimes donot turn into reality.
1378  Local / India / Re: Gemini Exchange planned to invest 200 Crores INR on: October 03, 2023, 01:32:34 PM
They are only investing in software development, they are not doing anything to bring their exchange in India. I do not view this news as a positive new for the Indian crypto community as it is all about development of their infrastructure. Gemini exchange had opened their development center in Gurgaon a few years back. What they are now doing now is expanding it as India has the best skills in software development. The investment by them would help the economy of India, it will help India in achieving its goal of a 5 trillion dollar economy, apart from those goals I cannot think of anything with this news.

No doubt that the forum has the best resource if you have any doubts about Bitcoin. I have found almost everything here when I have any doubt if I am not able to search for the answer to my query I have to get help from fellow forum members. To an extent, it is far more easy to use the forum than Google to find an answer here. There are good tutorials that are very well explained, but they do not promote any product or have referral links. My concern is that those tutorials have images that are not showing up due to the Imgur issue, if and only if those images can again be activated then it would be helpful. Some tutorials are not updated, if the creator of those tutorials can update them according to the current situation then it would be great.

The practice match that should be watched by everyone is between Pakistan and Australia. The Srilanka and Afghanistan practice match might end up with Srilanka winning the match as they are good with bowling. The match between Pakistan and Australia has taken an interesting juncture as Pakistan started bowling well but was not able to continue with it. Maxwell, Green, and Inglish destroyed the hopes of Pakistan restricting them to a small target.

Pakistan is being captained by Shadab Khan, which according to me is an interesting approach. Rizwan is not playing today and he has been replaced by Abdullah Shafique. I wonder whether he has the potential to bat better than Rizwan, the pressure would be on Babar and Iftikar today to chase the target.
