I heard rumors that Vid is the real satoshi and Bitcoin just was a pilot project to fine tune the real deal Cool
But that is probably just rumors...

Now that would make for a very interesting story lol Smiley

BLOCK SIZE: BITCOIN DOES NOT SCALE EFFECTIVELY

The current 1 MB blocks allow a theoretical maximum of 7 transactions per second at 250 bytes per transaction.

Let's scale up to half of Visa's capacity of around 22,000 transactions per second:

10,000 Bitcoin transactions per second requires 1.6 GB blocks and would result in a block chain that grows by 87 TB (Terabytes) per year, consuming storage of 1.5 TB per week.

(The above example does not take into consideration the impossibility of this theoretical scenario due to lag introduced by transaction and block validation - pushing 1.6GB blocks around the network for consensus seeking).

bitcoin mining imageThe effect on Bitcoin mining - the core security mechanism of the network - will be that centralization becomes inevitable. Assuming the protocol could handle this amount of traffic - which it cannot - how many of today's miners will be able to afford the hardware and infrastructure required? Who, except a wealthy few, could afford to run their own fullnode to contribute validation and security to the network?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/block-size-bitcoin-not-scale-effectively/

Well... Were fucked! Lets clone Etherium Guys! (NOPE!)

Bitcoin has left the building.

Allow me to correct this. First of all , by transactions per second what do you mean? As someone very very familiar with BTC code base and the goings on, i can tell you the above assumptions are false. Per second , the network can handle as many transactions as are thrown at it and it can propagate. Confirmation time is the bottleneck that this ill written article is trying to allude to. Now, let's do some math, @7 tx/s per MB, let's instead of modifying the block size, we modify time span, down to a minute and bloc reward to 1/10th of current (maintain the status quo vis a vi moneysupply and emmissions plan). We now have 70 tx/s and even now we can't hit that peak yet..... let's go further in a bid to stave off any further modifications for the foreseeable future and push our blocks to 20 MB (this is the current situation in BCR, tried and tested)..... we now have a limit of 1440 tx/s while keeping the basic system of block[{tx}, {tx}]

(edit)For the crazies:- let's have 100 MB blocks then and top off @ 7200 tx/s

Pitfalls

Users in some areas may have difficulty with downloading a full (if it ever gets there) 20MB block per minute (this is assuming this happens in the next 5 years, if not most will have capable net connections)

The orphan rate my increase slightly

But let's now run a comparison, do you know how much infrastructure is invested in VISA? By any standard 1440 tx/s in a decentralized database is far greater achievement than 10K tx/s in a centralized database.

That's Chinese for me, but now that you are here and looking and this coin struggle to find a Dev, why don't you jump on board?

I have my own project(the same one crave cloned the masternode changes from). My best advice for you is to take time and study a project, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is...stay away. Oh, and anything that has unnatural hype from the start is bound to disappoint.
Look at the recent ethereum release for a ongoing example. What is sad about crave is that the community has/had real believers and a lot was contributed by these supporters, shame to see it all go to waste. I wish you all luck, you are probably better off finding a coin that is one or two years old and still has it's original dev doing actual development, those will not make you money as fast as a hype PnD, but they will eventually pay off. I'm wary of take overs btw, i'm sure you have seen how many of them have been manipulated and ended up going horribly wrong for those who bought in.

Listen to what this guy says - P2P lending is going to be huge not just dark markets and whatever they entail

I strongly urge you all to update to the new version, i know it's irritating  Cheesy

any news on p2pool updated version ?

No progress on that front, i need someone better versed in python to make the necessary changes.

Either that or we go all out on the BN only mining with immediate effect

Will there be a bounty to test the security of this / code review etc?

... I spent the past 48hrs looking into it exploring what is on offer ... Next up is the dev. I see initial commits from Rat4 on MASTER branch this is the guy which has bought a lot of tech into alts. All i can say regarding this matter is I am very reassured to know he is doing apart with this project (in whichever capacity Wink).

You have no idea what you are talking about, do you? Seeing the audience here and who has been deployed in this project, it could be very possible that this is a rat4 action, I don't know whether the dev is rat4 or not, but from the commits you can't make this conclusion - except if you have no idea what you are talking about.

I have not checked the source code, I have better things to do than to check blackcoin forks, but when I open the source repository web page I can see that this is a fork of rat4's blackcoin. So, if it is a fork of blackcoin than how on the earth could not be commits from rat4 the guy who maintain the blackcoin repository in the first place? Of course there are commits from rat4 - his blackcoin was forked. I understand you spent the past 48hrs "looking into" the source code, but do you understand at all what fork means and how the source code repository works?

lmfao .. yes i do I have been around the block with alts many times built coins participated under various alt projects under various pseudonyms played with some progressive BC ideas and pushed some ideas co-authored 2 w.papers along with participation of independent peer reviews for unnamed alts.. Worked on anon mixer and coinjoin techniques. Multiple token rings <-- Hint to who I am.

So yeah I do kinda know a little, just a little bit about spotting a very solid code base and novel approach to fixing Small spend DoS issue as this is one of the ways I believed its rat4 who is behind this as during another project which I was apart of he pointed out this vuln in my alt which needed correcting. Now low and behold its apart of this src code.. plus other hints and i picked up on.

Who knows I maybe completely off the mark but regardless of true dev code is still very solid!
Its my job to spot good strong code so I can clone it as ruthless as that sounds and use elements in my own works, if appropriate!..

Frankly, I don't care who you are, all I know, which should be clear to even junior software engineers that you had no idea what you are talking about regarding the commits of rat4.
If you say so then I have no doubt that you are the most influential and accomplished software engineer since Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared from here - yet you don't know how the fucking source control works, which knowledge should be the material of a high school software development class.

You still don't understand that the reason you can see rat4 commits because his software was forked, and therefore of course his fucking commits are in the fork.

Now, this project is might rat4's project, as I said seeing the deployed support I wouldn't be surprised if it is, however from the fact that the master branch of the fork includes his commits you can't make this conclusion. That's all I said in my post which obviously you couldn't understand.

Don't bother explaining its a lost cause lol
1379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus [Niro] - Pure SHA3 + CPU/GPU + nPoS + 15 Active Innovations + More to Come on: August 06, 2015, 02:30:53 AM
Staking takes very little extra energy to run, profitability can't be necessarily determined at this point in time as the price is low right now, but getting your stake now, and saving it for when price goes up increases the profit margins, so you can only base the profit on the time / price you liquidate your stake at. This could be seen as another form of investment.

Nexus Proof of Stake works as such:
You stake to get your genesis transaction at 0.5% interest. As you continue to stake your interest rate increases to 3% after a year, and your trust weight increases to 100% after 1 month.

Block weight increases to 100% in 1 day, or at the trust key expiration so you have the best chances of getting block closer to your keys expiration giving nodes that haven't gotten their daily stake more chances of getting stake block.

Block weight is exclusive to Trust keys, which means you need a Genesis transaction to establish your trust key, and then you begin to build block weight. Genesis transactions / blocks are unable to add transactions as a security measure, only Trust blocks are allowed to process transactions.

Yes all your coins will gradually move to your Trust Key, this will help join them together on one key to allow larger transactions with less inputs once all your coins are consolidated on one Trust Key. Your total Niro staking will gradually grow as well so that you are awarded more stake per block from having more Niro at stake.

Your produced Niro from stake will gradually go down after you use all your previously aged Niro as a lot of Niro have been aged since their creation [almost 1 year now maximum], which resets once they are included in a Trust / Genesis block.

Difficulty Changes in Nexus 2.0
Difficulty will be more stable now as it is using weighted averages over past 5 blocks, so this is one reason you may see it going higher along with new miners jumping on the network.

Thank You,
Viz.

Any plans to throw in some staking mobile wallets?

I guess they might help save some power costs
