Yes definitely if you have a good portfolio with all eggs in not one basket and have a diversified portfolio then certainly you can buy house etc. Its not just restricted to house alone. If you had invested early in btc and have a good qty by now itself you would have bought a house and a good car as well  You certainly want to make sure to not put all your wealth in Bitcoin. That is a very dangerous move. I would not even put 50% of my net worth in Bitcoin. As to whether you should buy the house I don't think that is something people on the forum can decide. You really need to do a cost-benefit analysis and decide for yourself. |

When I was still new in trading in bitcoin/USD. I saw that the price increase is happened rapidly after the bitfinex issue and that's my first mistake that I have to do panic selling since I was new way back that time and my second one is when the price went up to $1,250+ but I didn't sold some of my coins which can allow me to buy new coin at low price, but it didn't happen.
That is a common mistake not just for new user but even for experience traders, people how tend to trade with a lot of capital when the yes, the price going doing they panic and go selling trying to cut their losses. Whatever I win in gambling I withdraw that amount and invest that in altcoins as I think its better to secure your profits somewhere from where you can get regular profits and it will also help in growing my bitcoins in long term.
Buying alts can yield good profit only if you buy at the right time, i too have bought alts with my profits a few times and results weren't that good. don't get caught in a dump. i just don't buy alts anymore, i withdraw my winnings(if i win) and save it in my wallet/spend it! Well its good to spend them instead of loosing as loosing is always painful either in gambling or trading so if you think you are not good in trading then its better not to trade and keep your winnings safe in your wallet and if you are good in gambling then you can use those winnings again. But, to withdraw your profits and spend them, you must need self control over yourself and on your gambling activities. Because mostly gamblers do not prefer to spend their winning for some other things because they do always want to go for gambling again with bigger bet amount with those winning amounts. Definitely skill based gambling is more risky. You have to depend on the game fully which can be manipulated easily anytime. And ultimately you have to lose once or even more times. But in trading the case is whole different. Analyzing the market anyone can make money out of it.
Yes and any type of gambling is risky and you cannot expect positive results from it every time but if you are aware about price movements and current scenario of market trend then you can easily make some money by putting your money in trading. But I believe sports betting is less riskier than trading. Sports betting must be one of the gambling type, no one could ignore this still it is better than trading for consistent profit making. Bitcoin trading could be an exceptional but compared to Forex trading or altcoin trading, sports betting is always profitable for me. I love skill based a gambling because it has very less risk. Personally, I have no big problem on this concern since I can easily convert my money (assuming I got one) into Bitcoin and my Bitcoin into the local money I am using. Unfortunately, there are still places on this Earth where people even do not know anything about Bitcoin lest holding one. But hope will slowly change for the better in the coming years.
There are many ways you can convert money into Bitcoin, but it depends on how much money you have and how much you are willing to invest in bitcoin, if you are looking to spend like thousand dollar on it you can always buy it from online wallets, but if you only have couple hundred dollars you can buy from peer to peer exchange sites like local bitcoin, whereyou can buy and sell bitcoin depending on your location and the method of payment that you want. |

When no one will be spending their Bitcoin that is akin to hoarding and when there is hoarding the price will always go up because you are affecting the liquidity of the market and then scarcity will set in. I agree, actually when the big whales, the ones that have the biggest cap of bitcoin decide to take the price to go up they start holding, and that affect the demand, because how all the markets work is there is a supply and a demand, and when the supply stops the demand rises so the price do too and that is essentially what happens when no one spends bitcoin. |

With bitcoin nothing is assured or predictable. So every user has a small fear of losing money due to the price varying often. Personally I never thought of the varying price and fear for it. I fear of losing money while gambling, because I have felt myself unlucky due to the losses taking place often.
Gambling is really thrilling also and I do not gamble. I mean in online games. I try dice game but I always losses my BTC. Re: you need to overcome your fear of losing money I think it means that we should only invest or trade the money that we can afford to lose.
