First prove how Bitfinex has repaid every last one of its debts in their token scheme. The repayment finished so fast that its doubtful they did it without taking a loan from an outside source.

It might not be the token system that helped them repay their clients but that loan may have.

Anyhow, we dont know the whole story. If someone would be nice to tell us. That would be welcome. Ty.
1362  Economy / Speculation / Re: If War happens. on: August 11, 2017, 06:29:51 AM
If war happens no currency will be spared including cryptocurrencies. The world will go into an economic collapse and the most valuable trading mediums will be your basic necessities like food, water, clothing and other items you could use to survive. What use is there for BTC in times of war? Nothing.
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: August 11, 2017, 06:23:45 AM
I did not take Bitcoin Cash seriously, I looked at the price at first, I look again today, at the level of $ 306.10, according to my opinion it will go under $ 100, its usage is not very common, and it seems never to be.

No it wont. BCC is secretly supported by the Chinese mining megacorp. That means whenever this cryptocurrency's price falls, there are interest groups out there who will give it its support. Core knows this and they cant do anything about it except call it names on Twitter.

I don't understand this. If by "support" you mean they will buy $100+ million worth of BCH to make its price rise again, for how long they can do that? Won't they be losing their money, big money, providing that support? I mean even if you have huge amounts of money, you lose couple of billions and stop, right? And then the price goes down.

Things are more intricate than that

They don't have to support Bitcoin Cash indefinitely since people will run out of their BCH tokens sooner or later even if all of them choose to get rid of these tokens. Obviously, quite a few BCH holders aren't going to sell these coins, and some may even be looking to buy more. Anyway, after this initial stage of rampant sell-offs and buy-ups is over, their hands will be untied, and they can proceed to the next level of dethroning Bitcoin (as they likely think). You also seem to discard the possibility that the cartel might be selling regular bitcoins for BCH to prop up the price of the latter

Same thoughts as you. BCC isnt just another fork made on a whim by a few amateur developers like what usually happens with altcoins. This is a well thought out plan for the miners to have a place to run to in case Core succeeds in pushing them out.

1365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockstream employee delivers the bad news for BitcoinCore coin. on: August 10, 2017, 06:52:07 AM
If you are a Core opponent then it would be nice to shut up and let them make mistake after mistake that would lead them to their own demise. I genuinely dont like the fork but the fact that its now there, I ended up holding both to protect myself from all this stupidity from Bitcoiners who are acting like children.

Go ahead Core and Cash. Try to kill each other.
1366  Economy / Securities / Re: The best way to invest in cryptocurrency on: August 10, 2017, 06:32:27 AM
If you get rid of all the scamcoins, maybe all we get is a CM5. It might not even fill all those slots up as I could see an argument that there are only 3 cryptocurrencies that arent scams. Bitcoin, Litecoin and Monero. There are others but its still very hard to say.
1367  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin Cash web wallet. on: August 10, 2017, 06:28:55 AM
Ty for all you replies and suggestions. Im using https://bcc-wallet.btc.com/ right now and its good enough for what I need until I get a desktop wallet. It doesnt feel safe leaving coins in an exchange.

1368  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Experience on: August 10, 2017, 05:57:30 AM
At least its not BTC2 you have there. I would go bonkers if that happened to me with that kind of an amount trapped. Anyhow its better to not to use them for now. They could be hacked and and could be running a fractional reserve. In crypto anything can happen.

I have a comment about your strategy page.

https://kryptogeld24.de/strategy/

This is what you wrote,

Quote
Don’t rely on the statements of just one source, always check the information. There are false recommendations everywhere that might damage you and profit others. A good starting point are forums such as bitcointalk.org und CoinForum.

This forum or any other forum are not good starting points. In fact, beginners should avoid reading the recommendations made in all forums. People today are not as generous in giving the right tips anymore. You should warn them.

You also said to stick to the top 20. It may be safer, but you are missing out on the more undervalued cryptocurrencies. There are good coins with good potential outside of the top 20.
1370  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Experience on: August 09, 2017, 07:18:00 AM
Does anyone have negative poloniex experience here? What escalation process actually get's them to answer a ticket? Do we have any poloniex reps here?
Don't try use stop limit function when margin trading on Poloniex, it always have error and can make loss your funds, and then you will spend more time for contact support refund you, maybe need one month for wating reply Grin

I've actually never had this issue - have you ever tried margin trading on the site?

That happens only rarely  when a cryptocurrency is very volatile. It would be very hard for the Poloniex platform to keep up with the fast movement of the price resulting in a missed trade. But the good news is this becomes a limit order. If you are patient it will be hit your target price eventually. But do not make the mistake of using selling on the market in your stop orders. You will always not have a good exit price.
1371  Economy / Web Wallets / Bitcoin Cash web wallet. on: August 09, 2017, 07:08:48 AM
Is there a Bitcoin Cash wallet I can use? I bought some for a 3 month hold just to see how it will do in the market. I dont trust Electron Cash and I dont have time to download the whole blockchain. Is there a trusted and secure web wallet available? Ty.
1372  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex User Narrates How He Almost Lost His Funds To A Phishing Site on: August 09, 2017, 06:59:28 AM
I have also seen somewhere in this forum, One guy with 2fa enabled lost all of his funds from bittrex. Might be he has also entered his details in one of the bittrex phishing sites like this one. There are different sites which are just set up to stole user credentials for different exchange platforms and wallets. We users have to be careful like the guy in the story.  Wink

I dont believe him. How do you think can a hacker can bypass 2FA unless the site itself has a bug or it has a vulnerability? Its close to impossible, if not impossible to guess 6 numbers in the right order that changes every 30 seconds.

If he was hacked and his BTC was stolen then he didnt have 2FA on.

Hi there, we have written a blog post about the best way to invest in cryptocurrency: https://medium.com/cryptomover/what-is-the-best-way-to-invest-in-cryptocurrency-2e9781b91fb4

Please feel free to give us any comments, thank you!

I support the idea of having a cryptocurrency index to follow how the whole market is roughly doing. But I dont support some of the cryptocurrencies you have included in your index.

Coins like Bitshares, Ripple and Stratis are not Proof of Work. How can you bunch them together with Bitcoin, Litecoin and Monero? There are other issues like Dash. Its a premine and it should be in its own category.
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What people are saying about the surge in bitcoin price on: August 08, 2017, 05:58:32 AM
Ari Paul, CIO of BlockTower Capital, attributed the gains to a relief rally after a “relatively uneventful” split, as well as new investors buying bitcoin.

LOL. Spot on. I don't know why, but for some reason people were expecting some sort of "boom" during or after the split, like in the movies or something.  Cheesy To be honest though, just like alot of people here, I was also expecting a dump. Atleast a slight dump, but no. The price didn't even bulge and stayed at the $2700 range.

Anyway, about that price surge, it just comes to show that price market analysis isn't everything. I think you can only predict it only to some certain extent, and I think news, updates, and public exposure has bigger impacts on the prices.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Jeff Garzik's hard fork to a 2mb block size is more worrying and it could also be more problematic. We do not need a third chain trying to be BTC.
1375  Economy / Speculation / Re: About BCC (Bitcoin's Cancer Cell) on: August 08, 2017, 05:50:06 AM
84% reduction on BCH difficulty. We're seeing block less infrequently. More dumps to come as the chain becomes somewhat closer to normal blocktime spacing.

Its a natural reaction by the holders. But which one has more upside, BTC or BCC? If everything goes as planned with BCC we might see more price growth in it because of heavy speculation.

We're going to see some heavy speculation for sure. BCH does not even need to be fully viable to get pumped once the current wave of dumpers has run out of coins. Especially the upcoming Segwit vs Segwitx2 drama is going to be BCH pumper's paradise, regardless of whether the coin shows any merit or not.

Thats true. But its not about the merit of the coin especially now in the early stages. Its about the profitability mining it, and right now BTC is 83% more profitable in the original chain. It was 200% 2 days ago. At that rate, maybe we could see it go lower to 15% or less.

When that happens, another pump would make BCC more profitable to mine making some miners transfer from BTC to BCC, and then propelling the price further.
1376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardfork, the best thing that happened to Bitcoin since scaling debate started on: August 08, 2017, 05:40:34 AM
Forking to raise the block size to 2MB doesnt make sense now. Why do we have to go through all that risk for a 2MB block size? Theres an 8MB block size available in Bitcoin Cash, why dont the groups who want bigger blocks like Bitmain support that?

It's an alt. People want to control Bitcoin.

I don't see what the problem with a 2MB increase is. I do see a problem with the timeline. It's unrealistic to expect everyone to jump blindly into code that doesn't seem to exist yet and I don't think all that many people will do it.

If the timing is reappraised and agreed on then great, but I have my doubts about that. In that scenario things may turn proper sporty. We'll be back to square one again in terms of Bitmain agitation plus they have that coin to pile the pressure on.

Doing another hard fork again will be very risky because it might bring us another split in the blockchain. What does give us now? Another coin claiming that it is the real BTC? We do not need that. If there are interest groups that want bigger blocks then go to Bitcoin Cash.
1377  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Account Hacked - 2FA was active on: August 08, 2017, 05:33:23 AM
Please post all necessary screen shots and show everyone that you were really hacked and got your coins stolen. When a newbie account starts to claim that they were hacked, we should be skeptical. It could be he lost some BTC in trading some altcoin and is now starting to blame the exchange for his losses.
1378  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Account Hacked on: August 08, 2017, 05:27:53 AM
What did Bittrex say? Its impossible to bypass 2FA and users of any exchange are safer if they have it enabled. So dont ever disable it.

tachypknea, contact Bittrex and post screenshots of the conversations. Also post screenshots of your Bittrex account transactions as proof. You can paint on the amounts for privacy.

You are raising a serious concern about Bittrex's security. We as a community should start getting to the bottom of this. Its either you are lying or Bittrex is not secure.

The link below contains the transactions I cut and pasted from my profile, and the response I got from Bittrex. I never disabled 2FA, and the API key got changed at around the same time stamp, I am not sure if that is significant or not. (I still very new to crypto-currency as I have just started).

I am not sure what Bittrex can do for me at this point, as they haven't replied to my request for an investigation.

Removed link

Where is the link? Please send it to me in my private messages and I will check it out. I am very skeptical with all of your claims because 2 factor authentication is very secure and there is no other way around it.

What kind of device do you use for 2FA?

Until you prove that your Bittrex account was really hacked all you are saying is FUD.

1380  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain takes your money, does not confirm payment, does not ship product on: August 07, 2017, 04:51:27 AM
I sent them a wire transfer a month ago, it still isn't marked confirmed, and their support staff just keeps stalling.  They reply to my support requests every two weeks or so but don't actually answer any questions or resolve anything.

They already have my money, and apparently have no intention of sending me the product I paid for.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?  I took out a small loan to buy the miner with the understanding that I would have it in time to pay off the loan.

DON'T TRUST BITMAIN.

The first thing you should do is go to your bank and ask them to call Bitmain's bank and ask for a confirmation if the money you sent was received by Bitmain's bank account. If they did, you should then ask for a transaction ID and other information to show Bitmain that you have paid them in an email.

Include an ultimatum in the email telling them that they should respond or you will start to contact a lawyer to start looking at your case.
