Haha, I loved Tom Cruise's cameo in Tropic Thunder and Mcconaughey's face cracks me up in that clip.
13762  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to find out who sent me this BTC on: February 28, 2014, 02:11:02 PM
I see what you are saying.. but its not been dropped in the street its been sent to me and its not $0.10 either! - Very mysterious. I dont think i posted my address anywhere in these forums?

Well it's like somebody sending you it in the mail then. It might have a postmark but you probably won't be able to track the sender down unless you get lucky and spend more time than it's worth investigating  Cheesy, It must just be a payout from one of the sites you used it on.
13763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hey, I just got here on: February 28, 2014, 02:08:34 PM
welcome to Bitcoin Heaven
Why heaven? More like Bitcoin Pit since most are constantly fighting with each other.

Surely Bitcoin Hell would be more appropriate. I'd say it's more like purgatory though; a lot of good and a lot of bad and people can go either way  Grin.
13764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: right way to invest on: February 28, 2014, 02:06:35 PM
i earn quite a lil bit of btc here and i wanted to know where i can invest it to make it grow
any good advice?

Just hold it. You'll likely lose it or lose out if you try invest it in something and don't know what you’re doing.

maybe your right i just lose a couple of it on gambling i won once then i get quite addicted thats why im holding myself back and stay away from casino as far as i can

Didn't you lose some on ponzis as well?  Cheesy. There's no such way as easy money, but with Bitcoin your best bet is keeping it safe and just hold.

no i dont haha i dont have any trust when it comes to ponzi the owner is using some other account or maybe his friends to get some attention (based on my observasion)
yeah thats why i stay away from the casino

Ah, I thought I'd seen you mention before that you lost money on a Ponzi, but you'd be right to stay away from them.

Don't invest. Bitcoin itself is an investment.

It's a currency first and foremost, but people are treating it as an investment, but like all investments, it's risky. People soon found out it's not the magical money making get rich quick scheme they thought it was with these recent crashes.

Robbing a bank of cource Cheesy (Joke)

People say this as a joke, but I bet it's what a lot of people would do. This sort of power would easily corrupt a lot of people quickly.
It's only a day. How can it corrupt people so fast?

Because for that exact reason. Give a person a power for a day and he isn't going to wait around; he'll exploit and take advantage of it whilst he can. The power only lasts a day but that money he stole will probably last a lot longer.
I wouldn't. I have strong morals and, well, I'd rather just have fun messing around. Tongue

It's easy to say that now, but given the temptation you might falter. Lots of religious people claim to have strong morals, but that doesn't seem to stop them cheating on their wife or abusing kids at any chance they get. Everyone is without sin if you believe the bible.
13766  Other / Off-topic / Re: Western intelligence networks strategize to place “trolls” on the Internet on: February 28, 2014, 01:56:42 PM
i get paid 35k per year to troll on the btc-e trollbox (serious) i believe my employer is mossad

really?
I think he's trolling right now. Undecided

Haha, was gonna say that, but maybe he is just a professional troll. I wonder if the mods get paid over on Btc-e.
13767  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Poll regarding Mark and his money. on: February 28, 2014, 01:55:19 PM
If you are talking about his net worth I'm sure he had well over $5 million just from running MtGox.

Now he's got a 700,000 or more btc bonus too. That's if he is actually committing a crime

How do you know these figures? And I'm not sure if he has committed any crimes - well, unless being guilty of running a shoddy business is a crime  Cheesy.

But you're just utilizing their services, you're not sharing. Torrenting is cumbersome. Direct downloads make more sense, at least for an endeavor like sharing a library full of books. Oh and another issue with torrents is that they're dependent on the seeders' computers being up and running.

But they're still 100% free. I'm not saying these sites don't have an advantage, but I'd take a cumbersome site over one where I had to send money to a dodgy site the vast majority of the time. And if you find a specialist private ebook tracker I'm sure there will be plenty of seeds. I'm also sure your sites are without their flaws too:

The only issue is that the downloads seem to stop short. This can be easily remedied by using a download manager that has a resume function.

Newbs gonna newb. Op, you can move it there yourself at the bottom of the page.
13771  Other / Meta / Re: Against the rules? on: February 28, 2014, 01:39:49 PM
Not as good a selection, not as convenient, and when torrenting, you run the risk of having your IP traced by a copyright authority.

Here's the thread I just made: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492216.msg5425833#msg5425833

Yeah, but there are plenty of torrent sites that have a better selection and people are usually willing to take that risk, especially when they can get stuff completely free. You could also have your IP logged by visiting this site as well.
13772  Other / Meta / Re: How to insert image on any forum on: February 28, 2014, 01:35:54 PM
Congrats. This thread is #1 google search result for "how to insert image forum"

Congrats, this no longer works Sad

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=491323.msg5416741#msg5416741

The image is probably too big. Just resize it and it should work.
13773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to find out who sent me this BTC on: February 28, 2014, 01:33:45 PM
If you got sent some money from a mystery person would you not be wondering who it was??

Yeah I would, but I wouldn't spend much time trying to track who did, especially when you'll probably never know.
13774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mr Bitty Loves you Alll BittyBing is Almost here!!!! on: February 28, 2014, 01:31:32 PM
Thank you for my BTC my bitty - very grateful as I only have a really small amount of Bitcoin at the moment - just starting out. Looking forward to the site launching!

He gave you?

Appears so, though user doesn't seem to know where much of his money came from haha: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=488667.0

He says he has given me some but none of the tx I have received have been the amount he says he gave me!?

Mr Bitty very rarely makes much sense, just look at his posts haha. He's bizarre.
13775  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 28, 2014, 01:30:15 PM
Just pay full amount this month and new rules for next month. Or cut this month now and pay full, and start new month now.
The latter actually does seem like a fairly good idea. (Except for the fact that I don't have enough posts Tongue)

Well surely he would pay for whatever posts we have done up until the changeover. I don't think the 50 posts minimum should come into effect under this scenario.
13776  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who says banks are totally useless! on: February 28, 2014, 01:28:16 PM
Funny story! But it won't work in reality  Grin

its works when you will old try it .. but before old you need earn good money!
no money no honey Tongue
Well, you can always pretend you have money, like the guy in the story did.

Exactly. Appearances can be deceiving. How do you think conmen work?
Deception and disguise. And psychological manipulation.

Yeah, it was a rhetorical question though haha.

Haha he looks like a fat Gael García Bernal on the first picture on the far left.
13779  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you were invisible for a day? on: February 28, 2014, 01:16:46 PM
I would follow around people and troll them. You know: flying things, calling them out... Grin

Yeah, I would haunt my enemies. I'd also troll Christians and Muslims by pretending to be the voice of God/Allah. That would be pretty funny.
Well I'm Christian and if I heard someone calling me out, I'd probably ignore it and so would most, unless they religious zealots. Because think logically, it could be Satan trying to contact you, you might be hearing things or somebody put a speaker somewhere in the bushes.

Thinking logically is not what Christians do. Satan could've wrote the bible for all you know. So what would you do if it was actually god talking to you and you ignored it? That could get you a one way ticket to hell ignoring the word of god. And If I heard a crystal clear voice coming from nowhere I'd probably believe it was god, or reason that I am nuts, which is what religious people are anyway  Cheesy.
13780  Other / Off-topic / Re: There's gonna be a tidal wave/tsunami on: February 28, 2014, 01:11:23 PM
I need to resurrect this thread.  I now stand by my earlier statements, there will be a tsunami on the east coast that will destroy NYC and DC.  It will happen very soon, 2-3 weeks most likely, it could be less, hopefully later but possibly very soon.

The tsunami will NOT be a natural occurrence, it will either be triggered through geo engineered manipulation or a nuke.  And what do you know, a nuke went missing from a silo recently.

If you live near the east coast, I advice you to move away for the next month or so if you can.

Regardless of where you live, everyone needs to prepare for a societal collapse.  Food, water, supplies, as much as you can afford.  The US economy is going to collapse very soon, there will probably be mass blackouts so I would not bargain my money that bitcoin will be around.  Bitcoin served it's purpose, I recommend taking the profits you've made from bitcoin and putting them towards real world consumable items that you can actually make use of.

If you've had this premonition/dream five times and it's failed to happen, what makes you so sure it'll happen this time?
