1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is how mass adoption looks like. on: January 28, 2021, 11:22:36 PM
A great startup, this is what adoption is anyway amd should be. So seeing this honestly puts a smile on my face. The problem with the public's current views on how adoption works is that they forgot the usability department. They're all for everyone should have it and stuff like that but what really matters is that it's readily available and usable so the common joe can get into it as easy as entering a mall, not as hard as crossing the border.
Now this is the kind of posts I want to see on this forum. Looks kinda unreal, you sure it isn't photoshopped?

I don't think I would spend my Bitcoin there if other places accept fiat. I mean it is obvious. As long as I get paid in fiat, there is no reason for me to spend BTC which appreciates in value at an average of 200%/year. Fiat on the other hand loses its value the more you keep it in your bank account.

This is the problem about Bitcoin adoption. As long as fiat exists in the current inflationary form and salaries are paid in fiat, the wise choice for people is to spend the dollars first.
Pretty sure it isn't. Well, in order to inspire adoption we have to show people how convenient it is to use bitcoins over fiat, that includes using it for purchases over fiat currency which definitely is a tad bit expensive but if you're all for bitcoin's global adoption, then it should outweigh the prjce.
1382  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 28, 2021, 11:16:39 PM
As the saying goes, it takes two to Tango. With that in mind, everyone should remember that the government needs the people's cooperation in order to realize it's common goals with them, and the People need the protection of the government on the other hand. Situations like what happened in the UK happened because the people do not respect the government's orders, so everyone is basically in the gutter right now. Hopefully we all get through this.
1383  Economy / Economics / Re: Florida bank says it has closed Trump's accounts on: January 28, 2021, 11:13:52 PM
Honestly, these banks are getting good publicity from vocal Trump Haters with these closing of bank accounts, they'd still get customer anyhow and compared to Trump's asset, having millions of users are better. So I don't think they arw inherently on the good side of things now that they chose to close on him. On Trump's end, we all know he deserved it. He literally broke the law he imposed.
1384  Economy / Economics / Re: Everybody talking about economy reopen but problem on: January 28, 2021, 10:34:15 PM
Lol this will only inflate the value of fiat currencies even more, maybe even make them obsolete if you're going to transfer that much money into the system. The market and the system is fine the way that it is, it may not look as good as it was in the past, with the help of competent leadership we should be able to get past this problem. Just keep the faith guys and remember, more USD doesn't mean better.
1385  Economy / Economics / Re: Ray Dalio: What I Think of Bitcoin on: January 28, 2021, 10:31:17 PM
Most of these Wall Street Bankers don't have you, or their clients in their minds anyway so it would make sense how they hate bitcoin which literally makes everyone become an investor, a banker, and a trader of themselves without the need for these iffy boomers. Unlike Ray Dalio who is very optimistic and open-minded in his views, a majority of Wall Street Giants have been working on the same strat, same stock to generate passive income, then make a fool out of unsuspecting investors to make huge gains. That's how things went in Wall Street and they are afraid of losing this lavish lifestyle they got because of crypto, so they'll do everything they can to stop it.
1386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What has been your longest streak of dice losses using martingale ..? on: January 28, 2021, 10:26:44 PM
With martingale my longest lose streak was around 16. with my initial balance reaching at least 0.025 BTC if my mind serves me correctly. Definitely a big loss considering how high bitcoin would reach nowadays when I did this when it was still around 9k January 2020 or something. I rarely see people ever winning anyway in FreeBitcoin as that site is a sham. They literally do false advertisements where they say you're earning this and that but in reality, you're earning nothing because of very high house edge.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin had a Billion Max supply instead of 21 million.... on: January 27, 2021, 10:40:30 PM
Then it wouldn't be as scarce as it is now. The good thing about cryptocurrencies is that supply does not automatically affect the demand, so we can still expect or ses a value at least as high as what we have right now, but mining and other bitcoin fauceting methods will not be as hard or unprofitable as they are right now.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: stay away from new type of bitcoin scam on: January 27, 2021, 10:36:05 PM
This is very common in chat groups from telegram, where they will promise greater gains for people who would deposit money on their bitcoin address, which of course is something they wouldn't do, since there is no way in hell someone would be able to double your money within 24 hours, unless they have a gambling cheating trick which they abuse.
Although the bitcoin double scheme very old scam method, but it still new for newbies whoever just entering on bitcoin lately. Surprisingly I have been adding such as telegram groups, I just report them and leave group or channel. Even though I hadn't made a post on the forum, but I have noticed many such threads. Yes, we need to create more awareness, so at least forum users would realize about that scam method and they could save their valuable assets. I have been reporting bitcoin doubler threads with referral links if found. Everyone should do the same IMO.
Yeah, it mostly caters to people who just got into crypto and do not know their way yet, so it definitely causes this negative feedback loop on cryptocurrency's part as this disallows these people to trust the industry.
1389  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC drop an opportunity to buy on: January 27, 2021, 10:32:01 PM
A strong resistance still exists durinf this period of time, so buying isn't necessarily the best action as this is not the dip we should be exepcting yet. What I'm currently doing is waiting a much lower value than this instead of riding the wave of people buying the coin because it will just create a price spike which will more people to buy, which could be done in a price point much lower than this to generate greater profits.
I don't believe it's an opportunity to buy BTC yet because the opportunity was when it was under $15k, now it's all a matter of institutional game being played by big bulls and bears. But yeah, I think BTC has a chance to get dumped back to old levels because we experienced the same during 2017-18 rally and even before whenever BTC broke an ATH and reached a new high.
Only now, a greater resistance exists because companies like GreyScale buy bitcoins to pump the price, so we have a very tough contender on that one, although if the whole community tried, I don't see how we can't win against them.
1390  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies Really Money? on: January 27, 2021, 10:27:18 PM
In a meta sense of the description of the word money, which means something interchangeable and a basic store of value, bitcoin fits well and snuggly, it had these properties so one can most definitely say that some cryptocurrencies are considered as money by many people. Now, if they are doubting bitcoin's credibility, have them remember that having a physical representation of value doesn't necessarily mean good currency, take Zimbabwean Dollars and Venezuelan Bolivar for example.
1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Newbie gambling sites on: January 27, 2021, 10:23:36 PM
Roobet and Betfury are good newbie sites to start your crypto gambling journey in. With betfury they have this cashback system and staking where the more you gamble, the more you earn basically. So it's always a win win for you whether you win or lose since you're going to have money to stake in. Now I aould suggest you stay away from fast-paced games like roulette and slots, as those games take little time and would do little about your boredom.
since many members give you gambling website recommendations, I would like to inform you that there's a website called BTCGosu (https://www.btcgosu.com/) that has nice reviews about many gambling websites. Since it has many reviews, it can be a gambling website directory too. You can easily find a gambling website based on the games, accepted cryptocurrencies, bonuses, and more. If I am not mistaken, this site made by some members of this forum too.
This is great. Like a Yelp but for gambling houses. This wouldn't only positively assist newbie players in stafting their betting journey but older veteran ones who just want to win fair and square without interference from the house.
1392  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Treasuries on: January 27, 2021, 12:05:58 AM
Some people think that fortune 500 companies investing on your assets give a sense of power and trust over the cryptocurrency you are trying to sell. That is simply not the case, it either falls to this scenario, or to a scenario where the buyer would refuse to purchase because of his fear of the value being manipulated by these big companies for their own benefit, which they can most definitely do. So it's still good that you're doing this and allowing more people to check it, as it allows new investors to decide whether to jump in or not.
1393  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am being mercilessly scammed by somone from the bitcoin world on: January 27, 2021, 12:02:03 AM
Best would be to ignore these guys. Up to a certain extent will they only be able to scam you, and that happens when you entertain them. So you risk your money the moment you took their bait. Just like what Jordan Belfort said in the true to life story The Wolf of Wall Street, whoever says something first after an offer is made loses the game. So let them lose their patience over you. Be like Jordan Belfort.
1394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 26, 2021, 07:19:10 PM
Number one, you can't let your government take a hold of your cryptocurrency since it is meant to be anonymous and special for every individual, that is unless you let them, which I doubt you will. Number two, with the above fact stated, cryptocurrency concealing everyone's identity disallows any government to audit or even get a hold of your cryptocurrency records.
Even now there are people who have been continuing to use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies even after the functional government restricts the usage of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It is upto the users to make decisions whether to stay or give up. You need to be lucky or you need the right understanding, then for sure at any circumstance one will not give up easily.
I don't understand why he gotta spread FUD like that, for all I care the government will adjust to crypto, not crypto adjusting to the government. That should give OP a sense of how powerful cryptocurrencies are in the face of the government.
1395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: January 26, 2021, 07:15:57 PM
A little bit unfortunate but it's a bit low of a percentage of people dyinh from winning the lottery. That being said, the rush of winning a game as formidable as lottery is definitely enough to kill someone, so please take care of your health, which is by far much more achievable than winning the lottery mind you. So at least you still win in a certain wspect of your life.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WHAT happened to goosebet.io on: January 25, 2021, 08:30:52 PM
Well silence from the developers of a certain project doesn't necessarily equate to it being dodgy or outright scam because we have bitcoin on one end of the spectrum with us not hearing from the developer literally ever since the coin is released. But it is definitely to be considered a red flag to be more wary when investing or thinking about putting your money in that particular project
1397  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the point of collateralized loans ? on: January 24, 2021, 09:30:37 PM
The only reason it's not making sense now, at least personally, is because of the ridiculous gas fees of Ethereum. It sometimes even outweighs the price of what you're cashing out. In paper, collateralized loans work well, you take a loan, you use the loaned money for trading or to gain profit basically, you pay the capital and keep your profits. Until gas fees came.
1398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: January 24, 2021, 08:49:05 PM
Gambling always finds it way. Though I'm happy Thailand is at least doing something to ward off these illegal gamblers. Here in my country, even funerals and wakes are being profiteered, they set up gambling tents and bet on money to pay off the services and the grave. Everybody knows about this but no one is doing something.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper money vs Digital currency on: January 24, 2021, 08:08:13 PM
Paper money still works, but is inconvenient in an environmental standpoint, the production, even the resources it's value is based too, continously depletes our planet's life-giving qualities. While on the other hand, Digital Currency, which is primarily powered by electricity is much cheaper to make, safer to keep, and most of all, is safer for the environment as there are more ways to gather electricity than oil per se. So there's the difference between the two.
1400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard to swallow pills about Bitcoin and Blockchain on: January 24, 2021, 08:04:11 PM
As much as we like it, it isn't goijg to be easy to topple a system that worked and had made thousands of generations comfortable over a fairly new piece of technology. It will take time of course, but we'll get there eventually. If anything, this way of people earning money through bitcoin and the blockchain is but one of the few more steps we will take towards global acceptance. Patience is the key here guys.
