1381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussing the upcoming market on: February 24, 2023, 05:39:08 PM
Nothing much would happen in the market  knowing too well that halving is around the corner and this would be a major propeller of the market, as per Ethereum since it moved from PoW to PoS lots of investors wouldn't want to lose their investment and there was no changes affecting the market to show a great effects. Do we talk of other coin like matic or BNB, yes this might likely have a better chance of investment since lot of projects are built under their network today.
The OP isn't talking negatively and he said that those things he listed will contribute about the growth of this market. The items that he listed were mostly about ETH so those could greatly improved ETH but BTC isn't jealous about it because it also have its own update and that is none other than the halving. When ETH move from POW to POS I think many people dislike this change so many of them actually sold their ETH and transferred to another coin.

It could be Bitcoin because Bitcoin is still POW and will remain to be this way. We already saw the impact of ETH update on ETH last time but there are still other reasons for coin to recover in the future. Between the BNB and Matic, I think I will go for BNB since things aren't really doing well for Matic.
1382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 24, 2023, 03:14:03 PM
We can have an example of today's ICC T20 semifinals between the teams India Women and Australia Women. Based on the AI prediction and majority of the sports betting channels predicted it to be a win for Australia Women and the same happened. It all happened out of some small mistake that favoured Australia. Almost 99% of the bets were on Australia Women and if that small mistake hadn't happened this could've been a win for India Women.

When it comes to sports betting or any of the casino games, AI is just a tool that can be used with the hope of giving positive results same as what some people follow with the superstitious beliefs. In reality it doesn't have anything specific to give precise results as the prediction of AI is completely upon data gathering.
Really? But I am still not totally impressed with it because I think what happened is only a co-incident or it was just a wild guess made by the AI there. I believe there is no way for the AI to predict the future and what if there are a certain circumstances that can come like a bad weather? Or the players were injured? do you think the AI can predict it? I guess no.

AI is far from a superstitious belief because the AI can scan details on the web and based their predictions according to it but there is no science behind superstitious beliefs. It was like you wear red clothes because you think it was a lucky color. It wasn't bad though to believe on it if we are only playing a luck-based game or casino games.
1383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen once Hong Kong legalizes bitcoin? on: February 23, 2023, 09:21:43 PM
Some of you probably saw the news that bitcoin will be fully legal to its citizens in June. What do you guys think will happen to Bitcoin?
I think it wouldn't really have a big global impact, and the price would be alright as well. Hong Kong is a big financial place, and there are a lot of rich people there, there is no denying that but the fact is that we are talking about a small nation compared to the whole world, we probably wouldn't see to much money going into bitcoin and that would mean that we are not going to see too many people who end up with buying bitcoin enough to make the price go up, which is just my guess, maybe I am wrong but it would be very hard to make it work, I think it would be beyond their capacity. The price would probably stay the same, or even if it moves, it wouldn't be because of this.
1384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 23, 2023, 09:00:33 PM
I would definitely choose to bet on Union Berlin at 8.60 odds and this seems like an understated advantage for most people. There are other options such as betting over 2 goals or 2.5 goals because it is certain that this match will result in mutual goals. But then again, the Union Berlin odds are really exaggerated and for sure it makes one feel a bit confused.
8.60 is not something we can ignore especially if you consider the recent games we saw from these two teams but you should not forget that during the last five games, these two teams Union Berlin could never beat Bayern Munich and they had 4 draws. But if Union Berlin wins this game they can be 46 points and take first place in the league so this match is very much important for both teams this week because of their positions on the table.
I agree that it is going to be a troubling game and I understand that Union Berlin will be a big opponent to play against, but I also believe that they already have a good team and they will most probably win that game. Maybe they haven't been as dominant as they used to be but that doesn't mean that they are going to end up losing neither, it just means that they are going to end up with a harder win, but a win nevertheless.

I believe that Bayern will get this game, and put themselves a bit of ease, at least against Union Berlin. I know they have been having a hard year, but I have full confidence that they will get the title this season too.
1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: February 23, 2023, 06:50:08 PM
It's fair enough afterall what's betting without risk and this isn't a bad offer afterall. I'll take it, but I think I'll bet just 5% of my value and in 10 payrolls I should have gotten a good return to carry me through the next round.
5% is too little to risk since you wanted to pursue your gambling career, maybe better at least 10%? that is fair and  valuable enough to charge and boost your momentum .
10 payrolls? then that ia a long way to happen lol.

I will do what I think is necessary to gamble and that is risk management of course.
It's better to stay low in gambling because there is no guarantees that we can win here. Betting small is the only way to last long in the game. This is perfect if our goal is to enjoy and past the time. When he say payrolls I don't think he mean payroll of a job but he is still referring to the rolls in gambling.

10 rolls is not that long to achieve especially for a fast game like dice. In conclusion, gambling should not be treated as a kind of career due to its nature but unless if you are a professional gambler already or the ones that are being sponsored and plays on the tournaments, if not then you should only treat it as a kind of a hobby like what most of us are doing now.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Life's first investment in Bitcoin by selling bicycles on: February 23, 2023, 05:52:28 PM
OP didn't mention if that bike is still in use or not. If it is no longer used, selling the bike for an investment is a good idea because the longer the bike is left, the more it depreciates in value over time. But if it's his day to day medium, then I would disagree with his opinion. Sustainable investment is from idle money, not from selling other assets to invest.

Investing is not always profitable, and having a job is the surest thing that can guarantee life as well as the future. Do not be too dependent on investment and think that it can bring us wealth without working.
Bikes are not like a real estate or other investment assets which value can appreciate overtime. Another factor which helps their value depreciate more is their material gets deteriorate over time but if you know how to do a maintenance on your bike like if you will paint them to prevent them from rusting then you can prolong their shelf life. These days in my neighborhoods, people are preferring cycles for commuting nearby as it got health benefits as well. So, selling bikes is somehow a new trend now for various reasons.
1387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 22, 2023, 09:29:25 PM
Marseille has a great chance to overthrow PSG at their own turf. especially if PSG are not strengthened by one of their star players, Neymar who has been hit by an injury. Marseille must take advantage of this momentum, to reduce the difference in points from PSG.

As for PSG, as you said. currently the Galtier troop squad is in an unpleasant situation. they have a tough match, apart from against Marseille, Galtier must prepare his team for the match against Baryern Munich in the second leg later. even so, if only for the Ligue 1 trophy, I still believe PSG's dominance will be difficult to break.
Yes, worst part is not even over, they are going to play against Marseille next up, and that is a good team, they are not like Lille, if they hard time beating Lille and lost to Bayern, then playing Marseille will be even harder. If they play all their good players then they will tire them before the next Bayern game, and if they do not then they are going to have even hard time beating a good team.

I do not know what they will do, maybe risk it and play everyone and let them relax against Nantes? That could be a better idea to be fair, but basically this is going to be a week where we will see PSG not be 100% just yet, and could go either teams way.
1388  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: February 21, 2023, 09:12:09 PM
I was thinking of gambling $50-$100 with one single bet in sugar rush. What are my changes for hitting free spins with that one spin or even winning big with that one spin? I know my changes are low but the potential reward would be really high. What do you guys think?

Would you suggest me something else with one bet and potentially high reward? Some specific slot machine, live casino, game show or a stake original game for it?
If you can live with the fact that in 99.9% of the cases you will loose that amount of money in 5 seconds, than yes it is a good idea lol. Chances are very small that you win big or hit the free spins, but never say never. I would spend it on a very high volatile slot like money train 3 or something similar; if you win and you get really lucky, than you can win a massive multiplier.
Too many people do not realize that gambling without actually caring about it, would end up in a very big loss and shouldn't be considered something to be done. I have to say that it is not going to be an easy thing and it should be avoided at all costs if you can.

I know that it isn't really a big deal and you could make it work as much as you can when it is on a good roll, but eventually it will make you lose all your money in your account. However, if you are careful then you could maybe do something that would make it work because you have a strategy and you get ready for all the possible outcomes and you have limits etc etc, which would be better.
1389  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 21, 2023, 09:08:39 AM
I will suggest that you should share your work with others and then ask them about their work and experience. An expert will always give you good suggestions but copy their strategies sometime become dangerous for you so in my opinion get knowledge from everyone and then think with patience that whether it can give you advantages or will destroy your all profit.

Getting knowledge is not bad but trust everyone and copy them without any realization can make you hopeless. Always make decisions according to your own method, mind, your holding coin and your revenue.
The reality is that we shouldn't really be worrying about what we could do ourselves, it's about how we could be getting more and more feedbacks on how to improve us. We are not competing with others, we are competing with ourselves to become better than who we are.

In order to do that, sometimes you get terrible feedbacks from idiots, sometimes you get amazing feedbacks from masters, and you need to be able to see the difference, if not at least give it a try and test them to see if they are good or not. I have done this, and it has helped me immensely to become a better. I am who I am today thanks to all of the critique that I got from people.
1390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: February 20, 2023, 08:56:44 PM
As for the $30k, I think it might take some time. We need more momentum first. Buyers too have some pressures and could be tired specially in January wherein we have a huge 40% uptick. So let's see first that $25k again and maintain, that is the magic number for this month, in my opinion.
Another new market position we can see in February is $30,000. We have already met our target of $25,000. Its next target is $30,000 which I think will be met by this February.Watch the market, wait, and wait for the recovery of those who invested from the high market.
If I didn't read this reply I wouldn't be aware that we already hit $25k last time but that moment was only quick. After some days, the price just stays in $24k and never returned to $25k anymore so we dont fluctuate between $25k and $24k but we do fluctuate sometimes on the following prices; $24k, $23k and $22k. The lowest that we can get if ever the price dips below $22k is only $21k.

For now $25k might be enough and people are somewhat contented seeing it. I don't think we can achieve $30k this month because the time is running out. We only have 8 days left but if ever the price recovers to $25k a day or two then we might still see $26k and $27k.
1391  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: February 20, 2023, 07:41:51 PM
I believe bitcoin can reach more than 100k$ in value this year, not even get between 80k$-90k$. How did I say this?

If in the year 2021, we did not expect bitcoin to reach the highest of 69k$ how much more so now? The fact that this happened just shows that bitcoin is moving where we never thought it could go. The more many disagree that its 100k$ value is impossible, the more bitcoin proves that the impossible always happens to him.
I think $100k per BTC is too much this year but if only you say next year, maybe I can agree with that. I guess you already know why? But I agree on your second call. We can't even get to $80k or $90k because those numbers are still high and close to $100k. For this year, I think it's better if we will be minimalistic for a while and instead say that $30k to $35k is possible.

In the year 2021, many people already expected that Bitcoin will pump huge because the previous years are mostly bears. If we will follow the same pattern then it's pointing out that 2024 is the pumping year for the crypto market, not 2023 but 2023 is only a recovery or a preparation year.

Who remembers when we gave away a Lambo?

If we did another mega raffle, what would you want to see as the prize 👀
Tesla? I mean I know that Elon is not a nice person anymore from what we have seen, and Tesla is much cheaper than a Lambo, but at the end of the day dude is a crypto person and he likes it and participates in the talks of it, and that means his car could make a little bit more sense. If not, and we are talking about something bigger, I would say whatever would be nice in Lambo range?

I mean does it have to be a physical object? Could it be like a world tour type of thing? Arrange the visas, the flights, the accommodation and so forth of a person that can travel to like 40 nations and 60+ cities or whatever? That should be a ton of money, not a thing but definitely not something many people can do. However, I believe in the end if you offer "reward or just the money?" everyone would pick money, so even a straight up cash offer would be fine.
1393  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉 Owl.games 🦉 on: February 19, 2023, 09:10:50 PM
<snip>
They left the forum.
Their website and token are still up though.

I was shocked by Owl's departure from Bitcointalk. To me, it is not a good move for them to leave the forum to limit the negative experiences that their players are encountering. It just shows that they do not want to be transparent. That alone is something that makes people doubt the service. I can't believe they turned out to be like this, I thought it was a good casino, I even joined their signature campaign before.
The reason they stated for leaving the forum is that they are re-arranging their strategies for better support services, though that could only be a cover up for something else, but at least they didn't disappear without saying anything.

Also, if you check their social networks, especially Twitter, they are pretty active their with partnerships and marketing campaigns with multiple casinos and gaming platforms. That being said, I think if they didn't have bad intentions, even if they were accused, they could depend themselves by staying within the forum.
1394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Enough? on: February 19, 2023, 08:36:22 PM
If you want to keep your investment for the next 20 years, then I think you should stay with bitcoin, only bitoin is an asset worth trusting and living for so long. Don't invest in altcoin when it's a long term investment, ETH is good, but it's still centralized, so we can't trust it long term. Even BNB, I don't believe Binance can live another 20 years.
I'm a believer of facts and stats, so I wouldn't blatantly say things which are based solely on assumptions and not on current affairs and stats. If Bitcoin lives 20 more years, which is not that big of a period and it surely will, then bear in mind that it won't be alone. Maybe not a match for Bitcoin, but some altcoins like ETH are also worth something especially if you are active and knowledgeable about DeFi, GameFi, NFTs and any other sectors that are born recently but have become reasons for the speedy spreading of blockchain technology in the world.

I don't think Cristiano Ronaldo would ever think of partnering up with an exchange and let his huge fan following know about blockchain and digital collectibles if it wasn't because of NFTs.

So, even though Bitcoin is the largest and the most popular one, other cryptocurrencies also have some utility and importance in the wide world of blockchain technology.
1395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 19, 2023, 07:21:00 PM
Mac McClung took home the dunk contest trophy and rightfully so. He also had the dunk of the night with a 720 which was absolutely ridiculous. That was easily the best dunk since Aaron Gordon’s under the legs over the mascot dunk. This year’s contest was a big step up from last year’s. Hopefully next year we get to see Zion Williamson do something special…
Who the hell is this Mac McClung guy? I have never seen him before, but that dude just came in and bust the whole slam dunk contest open. I know that it is not looking good for the other players, we do not have any good dunkers in the league that is willing to participate anymore due to getting way too much backlash, so only the ones we see accept, but this dude could have outdunked anyone in the entire league.

Three point contest was a bit of a let down as well, nobody really played all that well, many players missed a ton like Randle, and I feel like Dame was obviously the best one, he deserved that one. I am not going to even talk about skills one, that one was terrible to watch.
1396  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner Averaging future trading. on: February 19, 2023, 05:55:52 PM
but you can't hold for long term with future trading actually your margin fund small and close with liquidation moment. Before losing much fund in future trading and spot trading more safety when facing floating moment.
It is good to educate us more on this point about futures trading which is a major point between spot and itself and this is what was said that you can't hodl in futures. Hodling in futures is waste of funds because you will be charged on a running trade that lasted to the next day like it is called swap. This happens on a pair that your allowed you stay over the day. Therefore, if you continue to hodl in futures, the swap will continue to increase as long as long you didn't stop the trade or exit the trade. So at the end if you calculate how much funds thet have gone into the running trade in the form of swap, you will understand it is a waste of time.
If you are a beginner then yes, you better equipped yourself first with knowledge so that you can reduce your risks of losing. The gap between futures and spot trading is kinda far but it was spot trading is the one who is easier so every beginner should start here and do only futures when they get a grasp with it. Trading is done actively so hodling can be a silly idea on here.

If someone is willing to HODL then they better to do long-term investing instead. What is good about it, is that it's also easier than that the two (spot and futures). A little knowledge is only needed for one to begin here. It would be better if any beginner can start here before doing any types of trade.

Todd Boehly is an American and Americans love star players, it think the only reason Todd Boehly wants Neymar is because of the influence he'll be bringing to the club in regards to ticket and jersey sales. Tood Boehly has always wanted a star player on the club right from his very moment or takeover. We saw him trying to sign Ronaldo but Thomas Tuchel spoiled that deal. Chelsea signing Neymar doesn't mean Mudryk won't have playing time instead both stars will compliment each other on the wing and when one isn't playing well the other can step in.

I'm not against signing Neymar but in support of the new management. Firstly because if Neymar was to come to Chelsea, I don't think Graham Potter could manage him. We all know Neymar is a star player and not all managers especially the young and inexperienced ones can manage teams with stars on them. The image of Neymar at Chelsea will be beneficiary both on and off the field so I don't see this as a bad deal provided we won't be breaking any financially fair play rules.
If that was the case (which I disagree with) then why would he spend 500+ million and get nearly no superstars, I mean sure they are good players but none of the players have that kind of name. If he bought no other player, and just Mbappe, he could have paid 200+ million to PSG easily, and 200+ million to Mbappe with future payments as well, and it would have been maybe even cheaper, or at least cost the same.

Chelsea at the start of the season with just Mbappe addition could have been at least this good, if not even better. I understand that people are unhappy with the current situation and they are looking to add even more, but that doesn't mean that they should, it just doesn't make sense.
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad feeling like a bomb is gonna go off on: February 18, 2023, 09:22:01 PM
Are you afraid of the collapse of stablecoins? Stable coins are also altcoins, so it wouldn't be surprising if they crashed or disappeared one day. With the SEC hitting BUSD as a sign that they can do more, most likely, USDT or USDC will be their next target. Stable coins are not as safe as you think, so don't trust any coin too much. It is advisable to hold fiat instead of the stablecoin if you are unable to hold bitcoin under any circumstances.
I think stablecoins that are backed by real money or assets are pretty reliable, though I understand the fact that nothing should be trusted in this universe. Tokens like USDC and BUSD are never going to just disappear like thin air since they got strong support. What SEC is doing with BUSD is pure promotion for the token and it's owner which is Binance.

People tend to keep their money for investments in stablecoins because it comes in handy when you want to take a trade instead of first converting your fiat to a stablecoin and then do your trading.
1399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 18, 2023, 08:50:04 PM
Netherlands and Danmark are some of those "dying" teams. They are a shadow of their former self. And regarding Belgium, it is difficult to believe that this team was at the top of the FIFA rankings a few years back. Among the European teams, England, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy have maintained their standards, while others like Netherlands and Belgium have gone down the drain. The advantage with teams like England is that they have some of the best club competitions in the world and that ensures a steady supply of quality young players.
I believe the reason Belgium was at the top for just a while was the fact that not only they played well, but on paper they built a team that was filled with stars, but obviously those stars didn't play that well together, just because you have them doesn't mean that you can make them work together. There are some other teams like that Brazil has amazing stars, but rarely play each other and that is why I always liked France, because they have so many players in the same league and playing so well together as well.

About Netherlands and Denmark, Denmark is definitely worse than they used to be, but they weren't winning anything before neither, so it's not really a big change, whereas Netherlands used to be pretty good, nowadays they do not have any stars that could make them play better in the end.

Drive to survive new season will give insight that we desire so much. First of all, what happened with Ferrari and why they were so bad, I really wonder that because the car was good and the drivers were good but the team was not and made so many mistakes which cost them a lot of points, maybe we will get to see why?

Secondly what happened with Mercedes and their terrible car? Like they realized it how early? And what did they do to fix it? Because by the end they were much better.

The drama of Dany getting fired from Mclaren and how that was done? There are so many things that could be answered by this one, it is going to be something much better because it was a drama filled season, and not just the races, races were boring, what happened behind the scenes is the real deal for this season.
