1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Is Punk!" - Long-form Interview with Finnish Pleb Rocker Rami Korhonen on: January 17, 2024, 04:40:41 PM
It seems that Rami Korhonen is a famous person in Vietnam, but this is the first time I have heard about him. Personally, I do not like the way these people view Bitcoin. They believe that it is an investment, and most of them do not know anything about Bitcoin except that its value increases. You find them keeping these currencies in central platforms and rarely using an open source wallet and most of their spending is through Bitcoin debit cards.

It's good that he's a Bitcoin enthusiast and he's promoting it in his songs and attending conferences to talk about how it's decentralization will change the world, I believe that many other Bitcoin lovers are doing the same thing in their communities. But the point is that how many of them actually knows the integrals of Bitcoin besides buy low, wait for price to pump and sale, truth is that most people don't do further research besides knowing this basics. Example is most people who have been accumulating Bitcoin and had giving me lectures about it were still holding their Bitcoin in exchanges, I'm now the one that is now lecturing them about "not your keys not your coins", thanks to this forum. They didn't even know about none custodial wallets, and scam projects, yet they lectured without accurate knowledge.
1382  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin's Financial Advice on: January 17, 2024, 03:42:47 PM
Vitalik Buterin Took to Twitter to share Some of His Financial Advice.
quoting a Tweet About Bill Gates and Warren Buffett He Wrote:

Quote
Some actual financial advice:

* Diversification is good.
* Save. Get to the point where you have enough to cover multiple years of expenses. Financial safety is freedom.
* Be boring with most of your portfolio.
* Don't use >2x leverage. Just don't.
Tweet Link: https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1743991285214527532

What are Your thoughts about his financial advice guys? I like the first and 2nd which I've been doing by myself too.

The financial advice looks good and juicy and if followed diligently will guarantee financial freedom, and in old age the person will not lack or be dependant on family and friends for financial needs, but the problem is that your income needs to atleast meet your basic financial needs first before thinking of diversification and saving enough to cover your multiple years of financial expenses. My point is that many people can be aware of many tips to financial freedom, but these knowledge alone is not enough to secure the desired financial freedom.

The standard of living is getting very high in most countries and even with two jobs people can hardly meet the responsibilities of their basic needs, so these feel good theories are for people who are able to escape the shackles of the hardships that sorounds them, which is not easy. Almost every ideas are saturated and it's quite hard to get extra income for the average income earners to diversify..
1383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 17, 2024, 02:31:37 PM
Yesterday, when I was playing Crash, I have caught myself thinking that I watch on how much people bet, how much they won and lose. First I have felt envy, when I saw one guy bet 200-300 bucks all the time for half and hour and cashed out with 2+ multiplier. Among bets in range of 1 sat to a dollar, he was really standing out. Then I have noticed a guy who was betting a dollar and did not cash out until rocket passes 10x. I was also amazed how a guy bet 1k, and lost it when the rocket banged at 1.00x, then he immediately made another 1k bet and the rocket banged at 1.03x. Then I saw him winning +5k bucks.

That is how the idea of this topic appeared. I watch others gamble, I watch how the bet, I start to think about betting more than usually. Do you have such feeling also? Do you have a feeling that if others make large bets, that you also must bet large, otherwise you would feel like uncomfortable, or feel like a poor among rich, or something of that kind.

It is natural to feel some level of envy when you're gambling with others and seeing them winning big in the same gambling, you can be tempted to raise your stake like them in hope that you can win big too. But you must consider first the amount that they've lost before arriving at the win, and know if you have such amount to gamble, if not then it's best to envy a little and stick to your own budget. Another important thing to consider is that the money they're betting could be the amount that they can afford to loose, and if they end up loosing that budget in bet, it won't affect their emotion. In the end it'll come down to being disciplined and sticking to the amount that you can afford to loose, no matter the level of envy.
1384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: January 17, 2024, 01:14:37 PM
The most important thing about trading should not be the money or how rich or poor the person will be before they start, the most important should be to gather the knowledge needed to be successful in trading. When this is achieved the next step can be to start with demo trading or the amount that they can afford to loose. And this is where this topic comes to play, asking whether crypto trading is for the rich? I think that a trader needs to have a substernal amount to start trading because of the risk of loses, so if lose occures the person will not go bankrupt and quit, instead there'll be some amount left to continue. I don't think that there's any standard amount to start, but then you don't have to have too much money to start either. You can have another job from where you'll be funding your trading capital.
1385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to stop noise pollution? on: January 17, 2024, 11:10:09 AM
In those days noise pollution was very hard to control and mostly in the third world Nations but it was still minimal in the developed countries. In Africa the leaders are not good in controlling noise pollution. Someone would on generator for 24/7 hours of the day to disturb the neighborhood. Some neighbors would even used home theater to play music to disturb his neighborhood yet nobody can say anything.

Therefore I believe the only way to stop pollution in any country is to enact a policy that will regulate the activities of him concerning noise in the society and also the use of the new technology. Like, let come to the area of generator, generator should be eliminated from the world automatically and replace it with solar and make solar system very cheap for everyone to acquire and electric cars can reduce noise pollution in the world.

As individuals I didn't think that there's much that we can do about the noise pollution of others, we can only control our own noise in our own space, so I think that it's the sole duty of governments to have laws that'll criminalize it. The only effort to cub noise pollution in my country that I've seen is in the so much noise with big speaker that religious houses makes during their services, it has drastically reduced. But car horns, sales people's speakers and the rest are annoyingly still there.

About noisy pollution from generators for electric power supply with the dangerous smoke that emits from their exhaust pipes, this a nightmare for people who don't have constant power supply in their country, and the governments keeps giving false promises of constant power supply. People are just suffering and enduring.
1386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Historical Coinmarketcap: ranking of all cryptos at any time from the past on: January 17, 2024, 07:19:57 AM
This page should serve as a warning to not “invest” in the low level alts as most of the alts from 2013 and mid 2014 aren’t even in existence anymore, to my knowledge.

Unless the altcoin you are investing in is implementing some new technology that is an improvement on what existing coins offer, it is probably best to stay away.

This is a research down memory lane, I thank the OP for sharing the links so we can understand the hysterical pertans of altcoins, to help us in knowing those that have stood the test of time and others that have been forgotten. It should be a reminder for investors to carry out thorough research before putting money in altcoins, they should know how long the coins have survived in the market and the innovations of their developer teams, because the hysterical facts states that many of them have become worthless. This is why I still prefer top altcoins that have proven their reputations like Bitcoin, and are still profitable in the crypto space, a good example is Ethereum.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Notcoin real? on: January 17, 2024, 06:22:34 AM
Hello,
I have found a telegram bot called notcoin_bot from which you can get Notcoin. Is this real?

Thank you.

Notcoin is a viral clicker game where you earn coins by tapping the screen.
Mining notcoin is free. Sometimes, It is entertaining
How far will Notcoin go? No one knows. But nothing is impossible.
Similar projects like ICE and Avive are getting listed on OKX. Maybe the Next is Notcoin.
As long as it's free, there's no harm in trying. We have nothing to lose in all of these.
Even if only one pans out, it will be worth the time.

Notcoin could be for real because it's not the first mining app that we'll hear of, I downloaded Ice, one time but I eventually got bored of clicking it everyday, although I hear that it'll soon be listed in one exchange. So there's likelyhood that Notcoin, could go that part, and I think that it'll be quite safe to involve in it because it's free, so far the person has the time to perform their task, but my main concern is how profitable it'll be for their perticipants, because they're not investing any money in the project. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it'll turn out in the near future.
1388  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Have you witnessed the new improvements from some bank network? on: January 16, 2024, 05:41:12 PM
Fintech banks carry innovation enter our banking system so our existing banks dem no get choice but to sit up and give us better services. Almost everybody wey get bank account don add am with one of di Fintech banks because of dem efficient services, so dis one don make transactions for our normal banks come de reduce, so dem no get choice but to give quick and efficient services too like the Fintech banks.

Dis na why competition de very good for every industry, some go add value for them services and grab oda competitors customers, e go come compel all odas to sit up and give excellent services to gain dem customers back and win new ones.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: January 16, 2024, 05:01:52 PM
Since this coins have no value now it is expected to hodl them to see if later they can improve in the market,  because this is the only thing that can be done. It is the future that will determine what value a coin will possess,  it is only by hodling that we can see what these coins can show in the market. A coin with no value,  it won't make sense to sell out because their won't be any gain for selling,  it is better to just hodl it if the price will increase better in the market.

What is down fears no fall so if you're holding a coin and it dips very low, then the logical thing to do is to keep holding it until hopefully it starts to gradually pick up and pump, because even if you decide to sale at that point, the value of money that you'd have will be equally worthless. Unless you do your research and decide that there's no redemption for the altcoin, then it'll be wise to dispose it. Any project that is not a scam has the potential of pumping with time, if the project team brings some innovations to it then the investors are in for some long term profits.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone else know there is an Insured BTC wallet? on: January 16, 2024, 03:22:14 PM
Okay, my deposit is insured for $50k. But if I deposit, let's say, 10 bitcoins (~450k) and they get hacked, then it turns out that they will return only a tenth of it to me? What the hell do I need such services for? And in general, what is the point of depositing my bitcoins with a third party? It's the same as depositing your dollars in a regular bank.

Haha, in fact I already have thoughts running through my head. With what you’ve said, what if they use your money, make more money, then they say that there was a hack, give you the 10% which they must have gotten through gain and then they own your complete money. Did I make a mistake? because I think this is the math they are likely doing.

And yes, what happened to being in control of your money that one will rather put their money in the hands of someone else in the name of “insured”. Puzzling.

Infact your theory makes so much sense and I very much reason with you that it could be a possibility, because there's too much scams and hacks in the crypto space that you can't help but look at everything in it from a scam point of view. They can hack their system, give you the 10% as agreed and keep the rest for themselves, a clean scam job, and the scammed will be happy to get something. Like Cryptovator, said, the best insurance that you can give yourself regarding wallets is to secure your crypto coins in a none custodial wallet, you hold the password and seed phrase, not inside of an exchange or some insured third party wallet.
1391  Economy / Economics / Re: Useful side hustles to sponsor a BTC investment dream. on: January 16, 2024, 11:22:50 AM
I've gone through the thread and seen the different online businesses about the ways to earn and the amount to be earned to make money to invest in Bitcoin, there are other ways like doing your day work and saving money to periodically accumulate and hodle Bitcoin. Lets not forget that this forum is one of the best ways to earn money to invest in Bitcoin, we discuss Bitcoin, rank up and begin to earn BTC rewards to invest in Bitcoin, I think that this forum is a blessing in reality and a good alternative means of achieving the aim of accumulating Bitcoin to hold.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: January 16, 2024, 10:38:24 AM
Ofcourse the more tickets that you buy in lottery increases your chances of winning the jackpot, if you buy one ticket then you have one chance of winning and if you buy 100 tickets then you stand a hundredth chance of winning. But the twist is that you're competing against like one million tickets for the same price, so your 100 tickets gives you a very tiny little probability of winning. Just like in casinos or sports bet gambling, buy the number of tickets with the amount of money that you can afford to loose, that way you can buy 1 ticket, 10 or 100, so far it's amount that you can afford to loose.
1393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I become a professional trader? on: January 16, 2024, 08:19:32 AM

Is there anyone here who is a professional trader, I want to help him that apart from the above mentioned things, what should I know as a professional trader, do you know of any platform or site from where I can take professional trader training ?

You've heard it from most of the pros in cryptocurrency that you shouldn't aim for crypto trading as a professional carrea, I personally think that you can still achieve your aim but at a high cost of incurring loses in the profession. I guess that is why they're trying to advise you safely so that you shouldn't over depend on it as a permanent source of income because of the element of gamble in it, because despite your understanding of fundamental and technical analysis, you can still experience loses. So that is why they think that it's better to have another source of income aside from trading, because of loses that can occur. However the choice is yours to choose trading as a carrea or not, but you must understand that profit don't happen everytime. My advice is trade patiently with the amount that you can afford to loose, also diversify in holding reputable crypto coin like Bitcoin as an investment.
1394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: January 16, 2024, 07:01:45 AM
Two candidates visited my office two days ago to submit their applications for the position of a health assistant. I had the honor of taking part in the interviews with them. After the interview, the candidate did very well, but the CMD chose to hire the male candidate because of his physical strength and height as the best contender for the position. He didn't even give the female applicant a chance to demonstrate her qualifications. What do you think about this?
The job was not for her, that is why she did not get it. The CMD already had a preference in males for the position as some employers do also for some job openings, and on the condition that no males where found qualified for the position, he would have had to hire the lady the lady qualified and not go ahead to employ an unqualified male. If he had employed an unqualified male for the position when there was a qualified female, that would have been where I have an issue. Preference is what got the male the job.

I think that it would be dumb for employers who wants the progress of their companies to employ applicants based on gender preference alone, it must be that the preferred gender will enhance productivities and add value to the companies. So in the OP naretive I believe that the employers must feel that the job will best suit a male applicant, if not they'll be doing their company a diservice. My point is that as far as private sector work goes, I doubt that any reasonable company will employ based on gender inequality, it has to be the gender that'll be more productive for them. The public sector is a different ball game, they can employ based on sentiments and it could be either of the genders.

Generally I think that the issue of gender equality is been addressed because we can now see women that are holding top positions both in the public and private sectors, something that was solely for the male gender before.
1395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Patience is power on: January 16, 2024, 05:43:02 AM
Patience is always the key not just in long term hodling, in trading, but even in studying and understanding the forum as well. If you are patient, you will absorb all the information needed to make you a quality poster, a good investor and a reliable trader as long as you do your own diligence to research and study. So I totally agree  on you OP, not just newbies but all those who want to take risk in the crypto space should have high patience to gain their  innermost desires and goals set upon entering crypto.

Patience should be a virtue whenever a person is doing any crypto transactions, it's required in trading, because to know the perfect time to enter the market, in order to minimize loses, patience to put money in a new project, because it can be scam, very important to carry out thorough research first, patience to hodle your coins till it hits the perfect price in bull run before considering to sale. I'm happy for the OP for taking advantage of the experience of knowledgeable members to maximize profit and minimize loses, in his crypto trading.
1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Counterwallet down on: January 16, 2024, 04:58:15 AM
If none of their links is working, then the project is prolly "dead" and the developers are no longer contributing to it. BTW why are you looking for this wallet now, after a year or so (like you said). Do you have funds locked in this wallet? If you do not, then forget about this wallet and seek other alternatives. You can post the coins you want to store and you'll receive recommendations on the wallets to use.

We keep hearing of unknown names of exchanges and wallets everyday and people have a lot of coins in them, it's when they have issues that we get to know about them in this forum. There are many reputable wallets that people who wants to hold cryptocurrency can choose from that have stood the test of time and are trustworthy, I guess it's lack of information that makes people some not to use reliable wallets. I hope that the OP will make research or ask crypto knowledgeable people about different types of reputable wallets that he can use.
1397  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Adebayo Ogunlesi and His Impressive Portfolio on: January 15, 2024, 05:26:00 PM
I de always de happy anytime wey dem de associate any Nigerian name for anything global, weda na for politics, entertainment or business, e de help to redeem our image for outside the country. E de very sad say fraud and drugs be one of the things wey dem take know Nigerians for outside the country, if you be Nigerian wey wan enter oyibo county, na special attention dem go give you pass other nationals for airport because of how some of our country people don spoil our image for abroad. So dis Adebayo Ogunlesi, matter wey de trend so go let other nationals to know say better things de also come out from Nigeria.
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you holding any gaming based altcoins? on: January 15, 2024, 04:04:18 PM
Thousands of altcoins are in the crypto market. There are lots of catageoy and gaming catageoy is one of these. There are some popular altcoins like Immutable, Render, The Sandbox, Axie Infinity are belongs to gaming catageoy and those coins are working to improve gaming industry. They were performed good in previous bull run. So many people showing interest with them. So do you have any gaming altcoin what you are holding or any plan to holding altcoins from gaming catageoy?

I have in past held some game based tokens but almost all of them are poor in performance. The gaming industry or the blockchain industry is still struggling to find the sweet and ideal way of integrating tokens, value and playing mechanics on a real game. Most of the projects that started by issuing ICO for a game are disaster, they were just moneygrab and never made an enjoyable game. The play to earn mechanics did bring traffic to newer games but when the reward started decreasing, they jumped into a newer. i.e. they were not able to retain users and their interest on such games. Now I don't hold the fully gaming based coins on a large amount.

I've never held a game altcoin before, they sound great and fun to play but investment wise, I've never gotten encouragement from the investors that I know to give it a go, just like you're not giving it a total green light as a profitable area of investment. The crypto market is quite vast and has many options to choose for investment, I have my special areas of interest like Bitcoin, although I might try gaming tokens sometime, if I see one that'll interest me to put money into.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Then They (REALLY) Fight You! on: January 15, 2024, 03:17:16 PM
Decentralisation won't just be accepted without criticism from various sectors but this sort of attack you mentioned has been happening for years but still Bitcoin is gaining more popularity and adoption, I don't think there is any sort of attack that can stop Bitcoin right now.

And mind you some countries has also shown interests in Bitcoin while some countries has adopted as a means of payment, the more attack Bitcoin gets the more it grows so I don't pay to much attention to it.

It's said that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so despite every challenges that Bitcoin has faced, is facing now and will still face in the future, it is here to stay and it's adoption will keep increasing in the face of every adverseries. Wall street and political influences that are anti Bitcoin are just not comfortable with decentralization, they'd rather have every currency to be centralized, so that authorities can control and manipulate them. Unfortunately Bitcoin does not conform to these standards, so it's no wonder that they'll fight to decentralize it, but we shouldn't be worried about them.
1400  Economy / Economics / Re: girl math vs boy math on: January 15, 2024, 12:57:56 PM
I believe that it's in the nature of men to be responsible and take care of their wives and children, from an early age boys will be building their mindset to one day take up the responsibility of a family, this naturally makes him to work harder and safe money for the responsibilities ahead. While in the nature of women with all due respect they're "the weaker sex", they want to focus on taking care of themselves, because they know that one day it'll be a man's responsibility to carter for their needs.

Although I must say that in this age that the naretive is gradually changing, we now have men who are irresponsible and have no plans from their youthful age to take family responsibilities, on the other hand I've seen women who are enterpreneuers, they have investment mindset and from their youthful age, they're never dependant on any man to carter for them.
