1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can't Boot Ubuntu on a 6 GPU Rig, Please Help. on: November 12, 2016, 09:29:48 PM
I installed ubuntu 16.04. I have a mining rig that has 6 MSI RX470 4 gb with Asrock Pro BTC motherboard.

I've set the graphics chipset to onboard before and installed ubuntu through it. Than I installed the latest AMD drivers from the website. It asked me to reboot.

When I try to reboot it gets stuck on recovering journal.

I tried literally every solution I could find, including nomodeset and fresh installs (been working for 14 hours straight now) and nothing seems to solve my problem.

I than switched the motherboard gpu chipset to PCI-E and was able to boot but with only 1 GPU. As soon as I shutdown and plug the second second GPU in, motherboard doesn't recognize the GPU with monitor plugged in.

I would really like to know what I must do to boot using onboard graphics card while having my 6 GPUs active.

Any help is more than welcome.

Code:
/dev/sda: clean, xxx/xxx files, xxx/xxx blocks
Recovering Journal
'da takılıyor sistem.

Motherboard bios'undan primary adapter'ı pci'a alıp ekran kartına taktığımda ekranı görüntü alabiliyorum. Ancak tek ekran kartının riser'ı takılıyken, zira ikinciyi üçüncüyü takınca herhalde şaşırıyor.

Bin tane fix denedim internette, nomodeset falan. Çare olmadı. Lips sealed

My msi rx 470 4gbs are performans slightly worse on v5 than claymore's. Same roms. What are your experiences.

Claymore: 65-75 h/per card
V5: 60-70 h/per card.

..or don't keep a lot of BTC in the wallet and use them as it is needed.

IF it is truly accessed by someone, even if you have 2FA on, it is an internal job, almost always as it is nearly impossible to hack a desktop AND
a mobile device at the same time for the same person.

That is what Im thinking.

They've sent me a 2FA reset code and I deactivated hacker's 2FA and put my own 2FA. But guess what, hacker was still ABLE TO put orders...

Niki on reddit confirmed that my loss what due to your faulty code, security issue.

Niki (from general support team) answered with this:

When password is changed, site must force all logged in users out.
(singular)
As this is fixed, there are no other security issues. Even this one is not critical and would not lead to your loss of funding in any possible way as attacker would only be able to see your past order(s) and not make them.

To make an order or to withdraw the funds you need to access 2FA.
And there is no way for anyone to hack 2FA, so it must be a leak caused by a malware on your device(s).

So, the security issue that caused those who previously logged in out, costed me 0.22 btc. Because I changed my password when I spotted the hack. Take responsibility.

@nicehash, you are accepting that your site's security code was broken but you deny to take responsibility. This show how unprofessional you are. I answered you in my scam accusation thread and I'll let everyone know that you are either working with the hackers (due to the fact that hacker was able to put orders even after I resetted 2FA) or you don't take responsibility for your fault.

TO EVERYONE READING THIS: THEY HAVE ACTUALLY CORRECTED THE ISSUE AND NOW THE WEBSITE FORCES YOU OUT. AS IT SHOULD BE. BUT I LOST MONEY DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
1387  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nicehash security issue lost me 0.22 btc, they refuse to compensate on: November 12, 2016, 05:13:42 PM
you did everything correctly by reporting it when the loss that was your fault was only 0.02 btc. they basically admitted they screwed up and cost you the rest of the 0.22. it boggles the mind that nicehash would take this kind of hit to their credibility over a couple hundred bucks.

i have an account there but now ill only use it only as a last resort.

Thanks for your support. As you can see they accept they are wrong but wouldn't take responsibility. Please help my cause and get this public. Undecided
1388  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nicehash security issue lost me 0.22 btc, they refuse to compensate on: November 12, 2016, 05:12:42 PM

If 2FA would be enabled from the begging, this would not happen and no funds would be lost.

Regarding the particular issue with changing passwords and still active open concurrent sessions. There was indeed a particular specific issue in this case and we've already added additional layer of protection to make sure this kind of scenarios would not happen again. Nevertheless, once again we have to say that even with this exceptions nobody could do any harm to your account if you would enable 2FA right after you registered your account or before you started dealing with funds on your account.

Best regards,
NiceHash team.

So you accept that your website's code was faulty, in other words poor and it kept the hacker in even though I took immediate precautions.

I'm not blaming you for my hacked account. I am blaming you for the fact that even though I did the neccasary steps, hacker was still logged in. Thats why I take responsbility for the first 0.02 that I lost.

How can you also explain that even though Ive resetted my 2FA, hacker was able to put orders?

I started to think that you are working with these Russian hackers.

I'll let everyone know how a insecure service you have.

BEWARE GUYS. SUDDENLY YOUR ACCOUNT MIGHT GET HACKED AND EVEN IF YOU SPOT THE HACK AND CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD OR EVEN 2FA THE HACKER WILL STILL BE LOGGED IN AND WILL BE SOMEHOW USING YOUR 2FA TO MINE.

Maybe you have some spyware, and this got your nicehash password.

Sorry about your loss

Read the incident, this has nothing to do with spyware. They refuse to answer even though they have confirmed an issue on their side. UNTIL THEY DO A FULL EXPLANATION AND COMPENSATE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMERS AS THE HACKERS WERE ALSO SUPPOSEDLY RUSSIANS.

Scam accusation thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1677837.0

Please support so same thing won't happen to you. You might suddenly lose all your btc and can't do anything about it even if you change your password or 2FA.
1390  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nicehash security issue lost me 0.22 btc, they refuse to compensate on: November 12, 2016, 12:37:59 PM
Thanks for your support guys. They are ignoring me and my mails. I'll do my best to make this public as much as possible. People have hundreds of btcs there, some people I know. I already told them to withdraw. They don't even have a ticket system and you have to actually wait for the email to arrive...

I have also archieved their ToS and the reddit post. Thanks for suggestions.

Also, please help with the negative trust so people can see. I'm probably not on the default trust.

Omg that's pretty unbelievable that they didn't even log the hackers out. That is really really retro. My MSN Messenger even did that haha. I completely agree that it's their fault once you changed your password (and probably before too but who knows).

Thanks for your support. People are throwing hundreds of BTC there and they should know they are not safe.
1392  Economy / Scam Accusations / Nicehash security issue lost me 0.22 btc, they refuse to compensate on: November 12, 2016, 12:08:41 AM
Here is what happened for those who wants to read:

So here is the deal, I was renting hash for Zcash and Zclassic for the past couple of days. I had 0.24 btc left in my account. Today I decided to check my account and saw that there was an open order that wasn't by me.
The hacker put a 2fa code, WHICH CAN'T BE DONE WITH EMAIL CONFIRMATION ANY WHERE IN THE WORLD EXCEPT THE POORLY CODED NICEHASH INTERFACE, and I was unable to withdraw my btc immidietly. I changed my password from a fresh computer due to the risk of having a keylogger on my computer.
GUESS WHAT?! Poorly coded nicehash website didn't force previously logged in people to logout after a password reset. What a joke?! Is this 2001 dial up internet years all over again?
So, while I thought I was safe because I changed my password and the regular website behaviour is to force everyone else out that is logged in with previous password. I went to bed. Woke up to see if nicehash responded my email.
They asked me to send certain amount of btc to my deposit address to verify its actually me. And I did. Than wanted check if my deposit was in wallet page.
I noticed my 0.22 was fully gone. Poorly coded nicehash website didn't force previously logged in hacker, neither did the support blocked his IP even though they have been INFORMED that it was a hacker.
I request a refund of my hardly earned 0.22 BTC. I accept that the first hack was my responsibility but the rest security leaks was caused by nicehash's poor coding.

Can you explain why there are no simple basic protections:

1. When password is changed, site must force all logged in users out. SIMPLEST RULE.
2. When someone wants to set a 2FA, an email verification should be needed. SIMPLEST RULE #2.
3. I deactivated hacker's 2FA with your code and created my own 2FA, but hacker WAS ABLE TO RENT HASH SOMEHOW. HOW CAN THIS BE IF THERE ARE NO SECURITY BREACHES?
4. I opened a withdrawel request, he could have cancelled and battled me again by putting orders, but he didn't, or more importantly HE COUDLN'T.
5. I informed nicehash of the hack when only 0.02 was gone, they didn't LOCK THE ACCOUNT. Every other exchange or renting service out there locks the account immidietly.
6. Why nicehash doesn't have basic protection safe guard to protect their costumer's funds?

So basically you are lying infront of everyone reading. HACKER WAS ABLE TO PUT AN ORDER EVEN WHEN I RESETTED 2FA AND PUT IN ON MY PHONE. You are either working with the hackers and hoping no one will notice or be loud enough or you just don't care about your costumer's funds.

I SPOTTED HACK WITH A MINIMAL LOSE, ONLY 0.02. AND THATS ON ME, MY RESPONSBILITY. BUT THAN I CHANGED MY PASSWORD AND EMAILED TO YOU IMMIDIETLY. After that, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

You are no different than those "hacker Russians" if you keep on insisting that your faulty, poorly coded weak system just helps HACKERS STEAL THE FUNDS. There is even no IP notification.

I demand a compensation of my stolen funds THAT ARE CAUSED BY YOUR FAULTS and you to accept responsbility and correct your site's mistake. I will not stop following this and will be informing everyone, everywhere. You can't get away with this.

Basically, I felt safe after I changed my password and lost the remaining btc.

Niki on nicehash confirmed there was an issue with their security:

r9 390 oc ile bence hala avantajlı heleki zcash ten sonra 160 w harcayarak 100 h basıyor.. bios modlu stok 480 en fazla 65 h basıyor 120-130 waat harcıyor. Hesabını sen yap.

Bios modlu rx 470 4 gb ile 70 hash üzeri alıyorum, 480 nasıl 65 hash basıyor? Cheesy

Ayrıca r9 390'da aldığınız watt değeri gpu-zde 160 watt yazıyorsa o çok daha fazladır. Benim GPU-Z'de de 75 watt yazıyor mesela. Wink

r9 390 benim ekran kartlarının iki katı fiyatında neredeyse.

yes, something is wrong with the site's 2FA.... how is it I am able to log in without entering 2FA (I have 2FA enabled)

edit: and who is renting 20ph/s?!

There is something definetly wrong here.

They have sent me 2FA secret code so I deactivated the hacker's 2FA and activated one from my own personal phone where I haven't used on nicehash for 2FA before.

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? HACKER STILL WAS ABLE TO RENT HASH! WITHOUT HAVING ACCESS TO MY PHONE'S 2FA.

There is a huge security leak and all the funds on the site in completely insecure. Someone found a backdoor and renting hash from people.

I'm %100 sure of this and will start a detailed thread in Scam Accusations later today as hacker could have easily withdrew my btc, instead he opened orders and he didn't get logged out when I changed the password 3 times, there is no way he accessed my account with a password. Also I tried to withdraw the remaining btc which was 0.023 and he didn't cancel it. He could have if he really was in the account.

I urge everyone to withdraw your bitcoins from this website as it is way insecure.

There is something so wrong with this.

1- Hacker didnt withdraw btc, he rather mined. Why?
2- Hacker couldnt cancel my withdraw request. Even tho we were actively battling - he putting orders and Im cancelling them.

Nicehash you are either working these guys or they are somehow using your database to perform certain actions.
