13841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with s9's and dead temp sensors. on: June 08, 2020, 05:53:33 PM
has some promise I just got new s9 drop in kit from a builder

I can do 1  2 or 3 boards

3 boards on low give me 16 th and 900 watts  this is about 56-57 watts a th

2 boards on low give me 11 th and 616 watts  this is about 56-57 watts a th

I am thinking of making improved low power miners. using the s9 shell and s9 fans and s9 controllers and of course drop in these new boards.

at badecker ahh just wait till July 20. and if you are right the USA will move from. 112k to 116 or 118k. pretty much proving you are correct.

Or. the numbers will grow to 160k or more.  pretty much proving you were wrong.

To be completely honest I thought you were wrong about NASA faking space photos and videos .  I watched the take off last week and watched them land the booster.

I said it was faked.

No one wanted to post in that thread but you.

I like the idea that sometimes you are now certainly correct.

lets see how you do with this one being a fake.

I lean towards you not being as correct as you are on the faked space videos.

It is exciting to actually be able to clearly see you to be correct on at least one idea you have posted about.

BTW. I think they did say fuck all Alzheimer people with the Covid-19. so. it make you a little bit correct at the worst on this one.

Im only seeing the raven dag consuming about 2500mb on my miners, so I think these cheapo 4gb 470s are good until something like the end of 2021.  I really hope to see more cryptos adopt the KawPow algo, it seems promising as far as keeping the asics at bay.  Last I heard Zcoin is looking into making a switch in future from Mtp since that algo adds a lot of useless data to the blockchain bloating it.

70 is a cheap price and 130 watts giving 13mhz is decent.
13844  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corona virus-when you will go on: June 07, 2020, 08:45:53 PM
Eat proper diet of 70% alkaline, the rest acidic and get your act together.
The Covid scam is on its last legs.

It is. In many countries the proper people made money selling face masks and lobbying for the governments to compell people to wer them in public.
They imported  cheap masks from China and then made the public buy it and the combination of law and fear of getting sick made them money.
I really hope you're right and the scam gets exposed.

I've been surveying people who I'm in contact with and not a single person knew anyone who had to be hospitalized due to coronavirus and we're 5 months into the scamdemic.

I know 7 or 8 that had it.

I know 5 that went into the hospital

I know 1 that was on a ventilator for 22 days.

Basically if you live in the wrong spots.  ie New Jersey , New York , Connecticut are really bad.

I figure New York city has a 25-30% exposure rate.

But if you are in the middle of the country and are not packing meat in a plant. You are 10x safer then The three states I mentioned.

I may have had it
My wife may have had it. 3 days in hospital in jan with 2x pneumonia

Wife's first cousin had it spent a day in hospital ---------------- a nurse lives and works on Long Island ,NY
Husband of that first cousin had it spent 2 days in hospital
my wife's Second cousin and  his wife had it he spent 22 days on ventilator he is okay
my wife second cousin and his brother also a second cousin had it one spent 1 week in hospital

so 2 maybe's and six for sure  I know about 400 people

so say 8 of 400

all of us are in CT NJ NY  3 bad states. to be in.

so yeah it's real.  how bad is it?

Not as bad as the spanish flu.

Maybe a little worse then the 2009-2010 h1n1

of course if it is really close to the spanish flu then I think.   we will be whaling like death all over in late July due to protest crowding.

Won't take long to know Should spike like mad about july 20 if it is really bad.

I'm fine with people taking profit, even at a time of a pandemic. The companies who produce face masks have a right to do it.
What I have a problem with are politicians who create laws that make people buy certain products and put them in a state of insecurity to make them obey. It should always be a choice of an individual whether they want to take the risk or not. Whether they believe that a piece of cloth on their face will protect them from the virus or cause pneumomycosis.
Sure, the virus is real, but the actions taken to prevent its spread are an overkill and the death statistics are manipulated, not to mention the tests.
https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2020/may/19/tanzanias-president-shrugs-off-covid-19-risk-after-sending-fruit-for-tests

Maybe you are correct

but the death rates are reported too high and too low.  so they may be accurate.

The best way to know how correct you are is if hardly anyone gets sick by july 20th in the USA.

with the protests done over the last 10 days lots of people have been exposed to the virus. So if you are correct the death raes in July around July 20th won't be high.

no

Wow - so many merits for anti-Chinese sentiments. Smiley

I don't really care if people are spying on me. What does annoy me is that the big players are constantly messing with my settings, and installing rubbish apps that I don't want, and won't use. I don't want things like Alexa, Cortana, Facebook, Twotter (sic) and all the other trivial nonsense that goes on at the moment. I don't want crappy music superimposed on my surfing either.

It also annoys me when my searches are modified to push products just after I have bought something. Computers used to be tools, but now they are self-driving devices, and we are just passengers in our journeys on the net.

yeah.  i have four android based tracfones.

only need one but to be able to do some degree 📜 of security. i need four to keep stuff less synched .

lets say I have the need to use and exchange and they want 2f.

I need a phone to never leave the house that has multiple 2f accounts.

lets say i am mananging an account for a farm i need a second phone that never leaves the house 🏠.

lets say i take a trip i want to use map features etc. thats three.

lastly my wife need a phone thats four.

the 2 f  phones stay inside the house and are place in double faraday box 📦.

quite frankly better desktops may come back with very good monitors.  a lot of people have seen what they can do on zoom.

covid-19 has a really big wave two and the desktop looks better with mobile looking shitty.

not rooting for covid to grow this summer just pointing it out.
13848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New s9 upgrade thread. some info is up. on: June 06, 2020, 10:16:11 PM
So I will set a three board unit up and show the hashing differences soon.  Maybe Sunday morning.

So pcb boards = same size.   this is smart enough. have to drop into the s9 case.

heat sinks = very close or the same.  makes sense as it is a generic part.

chip count        bitmain = 63

chip count.      mystery builder = 51

cap count      bitmain = 6

cap count.    mystery builder = 7

My goal will be determine if the gear does as well as promised.

Make some more s9 space heater units.

note I sold 7 pieces of braiins based gear and used 2 boards .  I don't want those people to feel screwed over.

So if this turns out good. I will see what I can do.

Those sales helped me talk with this builder into the idea of building better space heaters.

I will just see how if all plays out.  But if it plays out well those buyers will be happy they supported me.

I have finally gotten gear to mine.
I have some old controllers.
So I was to load this firmware into the controller via the gui option.

new bitmain firmware means burn an sdcard.

and load via sd card slot.

I will try that tomorrow.

Right now I set gear to low and auto tune.

I am running it to   btc.viabtc.com its mining away.  I will know iif it makes specs for low in the morning.

I have a house filled with macs.

1 iPad mini
4 mac minis
1 mac book pro.

your mac book pro is what year make and model?

8gb ram and 1.5gb spinner hdd won’t cut it.

16 gb ram if possible with a 2tb ssd should fix the issues.

if you have maxed the ram you have an older macbook pro so what os do you use?

and you can switch to an external boot drive when you need to do the btc core.

i have three backup booters for the mini that does core btc. two are 2tb ssd one is a hdd.

never mind i see you are using a macbook air.

I recommend you dont run your btc core with a macbook air
13850  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with s9's and dead temp sensors. on: June 06, 2020, 09:21:53 PM
Oh i forgot to mention something. This is not obvious, but always treat the powerlimit as if there were 3 boards. It doesn't matter if there are only two or one, it doesn't literally share the amount you input to the physical existing boards, but will try to give a third of it to each, even if there is only one.

But let it run at 300w just for fun (and science). I think some people had good results at 600w, another at 800w. Since you are limited to 900w, perhaps no more than 720w would be good.

I have a programmed controller but i think i did braiins and not brains + as it is not allowing every option.
13851  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with s9's and dead temp sensors. on: June 06, 2020, 08:55:45 PM
If you decide to try autotune, remember these two parameters: Powerlimit, and Target Temp. By default target temp is intentionally 89°, this probably makes the fans go even slower if left alone, but you can lower it if you want. And powerlimit indirectly tells it how much power it can use, and thus not exceed a certain speed voltage combination. With autotune, bosminer+ controls chip speeds individually.

You should wait until it shows "stable" before measuring power and noise. Good luck!

Autotune may let a few errors if it considers the hashrate to be more efficient even with some, so don't worry too much if you do see some, as long as the resulting hashrate / watt use is good. People have achieved even 69W/T so you should aim for something at least in the 70ies, 91 feels a bit too high... Oh but i guess you need 240v and not exceed 80% PSU capacity.

Hmm I have switched out fans  and the psu's can do 1200 on 240 and 900 or 120

but with 2 boards I should set 300 watts and see what happens.

I think I would make a simple mining rig.

First off, thanks for the sharing of ideas, I appreciate very.
Do you also have any ideas on the antminer Z15 which is advertised to bring over $15 a day?
Without the energy cost that would make me $20+ a day if it's not a scam (they said it is on some youtube videos, but i've no idea).
-> https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-z15
Even if they resell overpriced (double original price) at $3000, I'd be ROI in approx 3 months  Huh

I don't know, it seems to good to be true, even without solar panels and paying for the energy, 420khs x 1500W would generate around $19-20 of net profit per day with a cost of $0.18 x kWh even with increasing difficulty, that's ROI in 3 months (based on https://minerstat.com/coin/NH-Equihash)

Most likely the z15 will flood the market and kill off the coin price.

This has happened more then once to many coins.

It is very hard to get a hot new miner and then get a big coin price jump. = really nice score.

z15 came out a while ago they sell and sell and sell  hash overwhelms market and price crashes = very common.

it is why a guy with free power show play with cheaper older gear.  and try to make slow nickels.

rather than buy a hot new expensive miner.

If you had my power deal  200 kwatts x .8 = 160 kwatts set cost is split the coins.

so it is like 80kwatts for 'free'    you could mix a high end unit here and there.  along with cheaper gear.

but you have 3.3 to 4 or maybe 3.3 to 5 kwatts.

telling you to buy the z15  and having it collapse in price would be bad advice.

telling you to find a cheap s9 a cheap l3+
and build a rig to us simple mining os.  say 4 gpus is more certain to make your money back.

yeah running 1000 into 10000 won't happen most likely

but turning 1000 into 1500 plus the gear paid off should happen in under 15 months.

i did a few boards with the style sdcard holder.

it is the upside down version of my one on the video.

so you indicate you know to flip the sdcard.

i notice the pins on the four jumpers are set to boot from nand not from sdcard.

i assume you had the jumper correct
and you could boot the sdcard.
i assume you then moved jumper back to boot from nand and then found out it never loaded.

please confirm.

vicksys wrote a thread  asking about  a solar setup.

He can get a 20kw setup grid tied

which is around 3.33kw to 4kw 24/7/365

He was asking about asic btc mining.  But then asked about gpu/cpu alt coin mining

as we all know frodocooper will delete alt coin or move alt coin questions so I told him write up a thread here.

So to all. lets say you have 3.33kwatt to 4.0kwatt an hour 24/7/365

Basically free power.

Please tell what you would setup.

All asic sha 256

other asic

or gpu

or cpu.

I have sha 256 ASICs
I have ltc asics
I have gpu's
I have cpu's

If you gave me  4 k-watts for free

and if noise matters I would get some old s-9 program with braiins. and run about 1 k-watt

look at this.  YouTube it is not click bait as I earn zero for you or anyone looking.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-tLR6sEVQs

this uses about 900 watts and does about 11.0 th

has special  fans and 2 boards per unit to keep noise down.

you can use a 3 board units if noise does not matter.  braiins will let you clock to 900 watts and around 11th. that is 1 dollar a day.

the miner and psu is about  75 on eBay braiins is free to download and charges 2 %. of your earnings so the s9 makes close to a dollar a day.  it should pay off fast well under 100 days.

as for adding
gpus.
L3+  asic miners for LTC + doge merge mining
cpus

lets try to figure out a 3.3 kwatt farm and a 4.0 kwatt farm

Lets say sound is not an issue.

I would do

1x 3 board s9 with braiins. ---  cost under  100.   power. 900 watts
1x l3+ -------------------------- cost under 100.    power. 750 watts with correct firmware

that is 1650 watts

I think I would make a simple mining rig.

The way the forum is setup any non btc mining for any other coin belongs in the alt coin section.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

I have a thread there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144362.0

Try to keep this all BTC mining.

You have an interesting question/thread going. for the BTC angle alone.

Personally I do both asic and non asic.  Which I would discuss in detail in the alt coin sections.

Assuming you have 20/6 or 20/5 meaning 3.33 to 4.0 kwatts.  doing a little of both is okay.

But We should discuss it in alt coins.

As alt coins  section will allow a btc asic to  "other coin- other gear " comparison discussion.
13858  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mixed batch hashing board compatibility? on: June 06, 2020, 04:42:59 AM
I have a s9 that has a failing hashing board. This s9 is an early 11.5th model, but I have a hashing board from a 13.5th unit to use as a replacement. I plan on learning how to flash a new os like brains to the controller. My question is will the os be able to handle the mixed batch boards?

Very likely it will work.

I have mixed and matched s9 gear. using brains.

But the oldest s9 units have the bigger two piece controller I have not used those two piece controllers with brains.

so i am not completely sure.

raven fork still doing well.

1660ti is good as it is cheap

rx 5700 is very good but cost more.
70$ polaris is best option for it,470 is doing 12-13 mhs

hmm. how much power?

and I wonder if the 580  8gb is a good option  as they are cheap.
120-130w, price wise 4gb are better option because they are cheaper (ty eth) and for rvn dag file is around 3,1

8gb will not run out of space while 4gb are too close.

I will most likely order some rx 5700 need to find a bargain for one.
