141  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Using a Credit Card Demonstrate Financial Literacy? on: November 19, 2023, 12:56:35 PM
Strange title of the topic. When I was still at university, we were told that money from a credit card is easier to spend than cash.

It's human nature and psychology. You swipe your card, pay, then put it back in your wallet. You have no awareness that you “gave” something. With cash it's the opposite.
From personal life and experience.  I can confirm this is true.  When you pay with Cash you open up your Wallet and see how much there is left.  When paying with Card you do not always check how much there is left.  You just swipe the Card or touch the phone.  I am often surprised by my Card balance because I think I spend less when the opposite happens really.  Almost always it is that I spend over the limit I set.
Maybe you are not responsible enough when it comes to using your credit card. Using a credit card was supposed to be an easy way to pay your purchases and bills. In terms of payment, if you have purchased an item, you can pay it immediately to avoid losing track of your purchases.  This way, you will never be surprised by your credit card bill. You just have to be responsible so you can enjoy the advantages of using a credit card.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really too Expensive? Then Buy Satoshis on: November 19, 2023, 12:24:48 PM

1 satoshi may worth up to $0.2 cents or even more, there are only 100 million of satoshis in every 1 bitcoin, and a total/max supply of 2.1 quadrillion satoshis off the total supply of bitcoin which is 21 million (disregarding that around 6 million bitcoins is estimated to be lost, which also means that the satoshis equivalent to this amount of bitcoins are also lost)

I've seen this before and I do not understand it, so I'm going to use this opportunity to ask. How does Bitcoin get lost from the system? I can understand when it's the fiat cash flow and all, but when it's Bitcoin, how does about 6 million Bitcoins disappear from the system?
There are around 19+ million BTC that have been mined/circulating so far, however, there are only 13+ million currently available. Where do these 6 million Bitcoins go? There are different reasons, for example, some people lose access to their coins due to lost keys, being incorrectly sent to an incorrect address, or other reasons. Due to these reasons, the access to those Bitcoins is lost, and no other way to recover.
143  Local / Pilipinas / Re: PCSO Idinemanda Ang Isang Blockchain Company on: November 18, 2023, 01:31:30 PM

Kaya dapat talaga, meron at meron tayong backup.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 17, 2023, 01:22:22 PM
I am surprised that many people still don't know about this format, because it doesn't take long after doing my research on Bitcoin for the first time that I get to know of this trick, I lost my recovery seed and the wallet contain few BTC so I shared the story online through twitter, I started getting DM about how I can recover the recovery seed to my wallet, I just knew its impossible but I decided to see where it leads.

The person connect me to another stranger for the recovery but I believe I am still talking to the same person, and he told me to pay some amount of BTC first that after the recovery I will pay the balance, I knew the first payment is their ticket to get out and run with my money.

I opened up to them why it's impossible to help someone recover their lost seeds, and the scammer end up blocking me, I laughed about it because he felt the pain of me not falling victim to his plan after several discussions together.

I don't see how anyone should be a victim to this, because you already know what a recovery seed or private key is, once you lost it there is no way to get it back, it's foolishness of you to get scammed twice in a roll.
Some people are not really open when it comes to this case. It may be different for you or for some people, but most newbies can easily trust the people who offer them help in this kind of situation. Hoping to have a solution for their current problem such as recovering a wallet which is important to newbies if it has a valuable coin.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bull run best time to promote Bitcoin related affiliate programs? on: November 17, 2023, 12:54:13 PM
~

You are right. I promoted binance refferal in previous bull run. It gave me lot of profit that time but it did not turn out to be passive income for me. When prices corrected, my referrals completely stopped activity on binance.
Maybe some of them already took their profit when they accepted your referral, or it is possible that their bought crypto does not produce any profit and make them keep on holding until the next bull run. They decided to not do any more activities to avoid having more losses.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the minimum amount of bitcoin or satoshi should hold for poor? on: November 17, 2023, 12:36:16 PM
What we always say, is to invest what you can afford to lose or the amount of money you can risk on investment. If you have enough money to make an investment, no matter how small it is, it is still a valuable investment that is capable of growing much bigger in the future if you invest correctly just like in Bitcoin. Hold it until you can, we always say here to keep HODL.
149  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tarot cards gamit pang predict ng market? on: November 16, 2023, 11:20:48 AM

150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 16, 2023, 11:01:14 AM
2. Assuming you are this young man and you had to run to a distant location to carry out your gambling as you are allowed to gambling within your neighborhood and luckily you won huge sum of million dollars. Would you share that money with your loved ones who were barring you from gambling or you will just stay off from them and live new found wealthy live alone?
Share your thoughts!
Is a simple question, for me I will come back and help my family especially my siblings because no matter any circumstance family is the only people that can stood by you in difficult times, so if I'm to be in his shoe I will come back and prove them wrong and also by empowering them.

That was just an assumption from OP but what if that person, that gambler turned his life to nothing and committed huge debts? How could he face his family who wanted to change his gambling style? What I understand with the situation is that they wanted their brother to slow down his gambling habits and the only option they see is to urge casinos not to let him enter and gamble. But it never works and is helpless because the owner of the casinos has no right to decline someone if he never commits any trouble, in fact, they want more gamblers.
They came up with the idea of requesting to not let the guy gamble within their area to at least limit his gambling which is for his own good. We understand the reason, it's because they care. That's why if this ever happens, as long as the gambler goes back to his family showing regrets and promises that this will never happen again, I know the family will accept the guy and help him get back on his feet.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 16, 2023, 10:45:57 AM
A friend of mine is not interested in buying Bitcoin even after learning about it.
Because according to him Bitcoin is a small number of people who have a lot of Bitcoin. They can easily go down on the bitcoin market if they want to.
Example: Cz. Craig wright & Michel Sailor etc.

Looking forward to the well thought out opinion of the experienced in this regard.

In short your friend not interested in Bitcoin even though he is a rich man but still you can't convince him buy Bitcoins and we don't know what are the true reason. Maybe he scared because we are all know that Bitcoin's price is volatile and no one can predict when is the right  time and the price will rise up. Or maybe your friend is  didn't trust Bitcoin even though he have already knowledge about it.
But in reality there are some rich man still invested in Bitcoin cause they will know thier money will make a good profit.
Volatility may be the main reason or probably he already has a business. It could be the reason because most businessman pursues their investment if they evaluate a certain business with a guaranteed return. They only make an investment with less risk than investing in Bitcoin.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting losses, Take a break and just focus on Bitcoin. on: November 15, 2023, 02:16:34 PM
And I suggest that if it starts again, it's best to just play Bitcoin and don't play with too many different types or play too many altcoins. I know that sometimes altcoins are able to provide greater profits than bitcoin when bitcoin experiences a 10 percent increase, but altcoins are also able to provide greater losses.
Most of the investors in altcoins are greedy. They give more concentration than bitcoins and invest in altcoins. In one stage they lose their money. There are also investors who blindly hold on some alt coins for years but at some point the coin does not improve and they lose their investment. So no risk should be taken on any such platform for the purpose of temporary profit. If someone does something like that, he should take time to think again. I believe when he can control his greed he can come back to the right place again.

But OP's friend lost money trading futures, so whether he used bitcoin or altcoins, there would be risks and the possibility of big losses. If talking about investment, of course bitcoin will be much safer but the profits will not be comparable to altcoins. Everything is proportional, low risk means low profit and high risk means high profit.

Investing in altcoin or bitcoin, the important thing is knowledge, experience and skills. If you have no experience investing in altcoins then you should stick with bitcoin, but if you are willing to take the risk and are confident in your knowledge. Why not try altcoins for more opportunities?
That's why it's better if he would try to learn more first before he proceeds back on trading. Even if he focuses on trading only in Bitcoin, there is no guarantee of making a profit unless he learns more about trading. On investing, focusing on Bitcoin is really better. Investing in altcoins needs more research and it's too risky but yes, there are more opportunities in altcoins with higher multipliers if you trade altcoins with low value.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ? on: November 14, 2023, 04:24:38 PM
We can't easily figure it out. A survey is needed to extract the data and confirm the percentage of Bitcoin investors that is also a gambler. Maybe half of the Bitcoin investors or rather all of them. We're not really sure the percentage of it will definitely be high. If we look for every place, even this forum, we can see a lot of gamblers that are also Bitcoin investors.
155  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 14, 2023, 02:37:45 PM

For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal? what is the standard food menu? What is the average monthly and annual income in your country? Please those who answer can use calculations in USD

With $2 you can have a full meal including drinks in my country. This is for one person and for basic food idea. If you go little bit higher like $4 you can get one of the popular meals on my continent drink included. I was referring to soft drinks not any alcohol. If you can cook your meal at home, you can cut this cost in half. I think you already got the impression that the average income isn't that high in our country. For lower-class people the monthly wage is around $150; for middle-class people, it's $250 to $300.
If food costs $2-$4 per meal, it will cost $6-12 per day. there, one person will spend $180-$360 per month. If one person costs $180-360, how much can it cost to run a family? Such expenses can be called huge expenses. Now almost all countries have high prices of food products, but in some countries, even though the prices of food products are high, there is a high level of income due to which both income and expenditure are minimised. Compared to other countries, the price of food products in Bangladesh is very low, but the per capita income here is also very low and that's why we think living in our country is very expensive.
Not really. The countries with high levels of income have a high cost of living. Even with a stable job and a good salary offer, people around the world try to find an additional job to come up with the cost of living. Based on your computation, a meal a day for an individual will cost around $12/day and up to $360 a month. It does not end there, there are other expenses and also the rent expense. You won't believe how high is the rent in other countries.

160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? on: November 05, 2023, 03:32:08 AM
A lost private key is the memory I do not wish to remmeber, when Bitcoin was at its early days, I had a wallet I often used for all those shitty Bitcoin mining sites, I lost the private key to the wallet and it really did hurt as I believe I have some coins in there. Also, the fact that I spent one Bitcoin subscribing to such a miner is a provoking memory
I kinda relate to what you've said. I have the same situation where there is a certain site or wallet, I lost my private key because I was unable to save my private key and then suddenly I experienced a problem with my computer. While using my computer, it turned to a blue screen and needs to reformat. Every file on my computer needs to be erased. Even now, I want to forget about what happened by then.
