141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your family thinks about that you into crypto on: August 13, 2019, 07:31:55 PM
Hello everyone, good morning, yesterday I had a conversation with my family about crypto(BTC if we being specific).

Im HODL for a long time now, and really believe that in the end crypto actually do fly to do moon( More about Moon:)

my family thinks its a bullshit, and think that im wasting my time and money. I try to explain it countless of times and it seems that is simply imposable for to them to understand

So, im just curious what your family/friends think about it?
This had happened in my family. I remember once when i first got money from bitcoin through trading and my family assumed that i was committing a crime. They assume that I gamble online or money laundry and various other negative assumptions. At that time, I always explained about cryptocurrency, But all of my explanations were rejected by my family by assuming that bitcoin is illegal (because indeed in my country even now bitcoin is still illegal). And i also try to explain cryptocurrency to my family every day until the moment when my family sees news on television related to cryptocurrency. Now i am happy because my family can accept bitcoin and accept all my activities related to cryptocurrency

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of tokens that did not update their Bitcointalk thread on: August 12, 2019, 01:55:20 PM
I've participated in so many bounty campaigns and invested on some tokens coming from ICO, but I notice that so many of these projects are not or stopped updating their Bitcointalk announcement thread but they are so active in their telegram channel.

Do you think this is good for a project in general, let's admit it, Bitcointalk topics always shows up in search engine like Google while on telegram you have to scroll a lot or wait for an answer and they are missing up some potential investors who first look on Bitcointalk for project that they want to invest in..
this is just my personal opinion, honestly I do not agree with a project that leaves a Bitcointalk announcement thread. logically like this, a project starts building the project by making a announcement thread on bitcointalk and when their project is up, the project leaves the bitcointalk forum, really ungrateful. and also when the project's token utility is ready, they will definitely embed the Bitcointalk announcement thread in the information token. so I think if a project leaves their Bitcointalk announcement thread or stops to update their Bitcointalk announcement thread, the project will slowly suffer indirectly because they forget one very important thing, that they forget that Bitcointalk is one of the biggest cryptocurrency forums that a place for many investors to look for news about cryptocurrency

146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: One of The Altcoins Bad Project For Investors and Holders!!! on: August 10, 2019, 10:52:03 AM
What happened during the first buy back? Why didn't you sell all back then?
Just for your information, old buybacks only give participants the opportunity to sell a maximum of 100 token bob they have in one day

Quote
Wasn't this stated already in their roadmap https://bobsrepair.com/roadmap/?
are you know, new roadmap launched at q2 2019 and look at roadmap again before you talk, in the new roadmap on 2nd quarter there are still some tasks that are not yet complete. now in quarter 3 and they haven't completed the task in quarter 2, is this good or bad for a project?

Quote
It has been a while since I last heard about Bob Repair, I just visited their telegram and it looks like the team is still active in development and the platform is gaining customers also.
after i read your post, i visited their telegram. indeed their telegram is active and the admin of the group is also active, but if you are careful there are a few questions from the members they answer but their answers I don't think lead to the questions the members are asking. and also here I emphasize that they like ignoring announcement threads in bitcointalk forums not about telegram groups

Actually, I understand that the team cannot handle the price of bob tokens in the public market. And also I don't really care if I can't use the Bob Repairs platform if this project has a staking program for holders who can't use their platforms like other altcoin projects. But when I ask this, CEO Bob Repairs says "we are not doing any staking program at the moment" this mean is no reward program for holders. If i see the answer from Bob's CEO, it makes me assume that Bob will never make a rewards program for holders, which means this project doesn't care about holders of Bob tokens.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / One of The Altcoins Bad Project For Investors and Holders!!! on: August 10, 2019, 09:55:06 AM
I made this post because I already feel tired with the expectations given by the team from Bob Repairs project. if you ask logically "you make this post as if you don't care, but of all your words in this post as if you still care about Bob Repairs project?" I answered "yes, I still care a little, and I hope that there will be a change in the near future because I personally think the concept of this project is very good" ...
in this post, I didn't mean to review it because I wasn't good at it. I just want you to know and hope that the project team will read this post with the aim that after reading this post they will immediately change all programs and plans for that project. Just a little bit information, i support this project with campaign and buy this token at tokensale

first when this project was just started, a lot of people were interested in investing, either because they understood about this project or were interested just by following the words of John McAfee who said that Bob Repairs was a very good project. this is evidenced by the accumulation of $ 15 Million - $ 20 Million when tokensale only in a period of less than a month. After the tokensale was completed and the tokens were distributed, the team quickly registered Bob tokens in several public markets, which made Bob's price drop from the ICO price. but the team again spoiled investors and holders by creating a buyback program at the price of ico which made this project a return to prices and jobs on the platform. but for some reason, the buyback program was stopped. a few months after that, slowly but surely Bob Repairs experienced a good decline in price and project itself. I personally did not care about the price of Bob's token utility because I was sure that this project still cared about investors and holders. might mean to want to reduce some of the bad situations related to Bob Repairs, in October to November 2018 the team did some programs that they thought were amazing which in my opinion were not good things but setbacks in the program they announced. the announcement was Bob's list on the Bitmart exchange which was ranked #25 at CMC and a week after that Bob was listed again on LAtoken who was ranked #40 at CMC. this announcement is progress or setback, you certainly know the answer. but once again i believe in this project and it was again proven by the buyback program held again. but here I am starting to feel disappointed because the buyback program is different from the old buyback. the team imposed a new buyback at the current market price which Bob's price in the public market was very far from the ICO price which affected the disappointment of several investors and holders including me. and in my opinion the latest buyback program only benefits the company of Bob itself. I concluded like that because in my opinion all the sale and purchase transactions in a public exchange only benefit individuals. seeing this situation I as the holders (as a holders because until now the Bob Platform can't use for outside US. only US can use Bob Repairs platform especially las vegas which means after buying this token when tokensale, I can only support this project as Holders) at december 2018 immediately i asked the team about the development, plans and future of this project. but not the answer I got, instead I was banned from the Bob Repairs telegram group. This makes me hurt, regret and disappointed with this project. I did not lose my mind, a month after that incident I created a new telegram account and returned to the Bob telegram group to ask again about this project. here the team didn't ban me, but the team of Bob ignored my question and which finally made me think of forgetting this project and sell a few my bob. Last July when I checked my other wallet, I discovered that I still had Bob token and this made me go back to just see their project if there was something amazing. I got the news that they will burn as much as 7 Million tokens. this makes me want to go back into their project but I think a little why why only 7 million tokens (which equal is currently only around $ 15,000) do they burn? Didn't they collect around $ 20 million at the tokensale? When I became active again in the group and asked this, the team of bob gave a variety of answers which I think again did not provide any benefit to investors and holders. all of their words only refer to the profits of their own company.

because of all that, finally I made this post with the intention of establishing my heart to leave the project. therefore for new investors who want to invest their money in this project I suggest to think again about this project or just ask the team of this project what this project will become. that's one of my experiences and a bit of complaints about this project, how about you guys? Do any of you feel the same as me about the Bob Repairs project?

ah, i forgot one thing. announcement thread of Bob Repairs in Bitcointalk does not appear to be active for question and answer. in my opinion this is very bad for their project. they forget one important thing is that Bitcointalk is one of the biggest forums in the world of cryptocurrency, so in my opinion if they leave the Bitcointalk forum, they will indirectly suffer losses because in this forum many new investors appear
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising, Scams Rising on: August 10, 2019, 05:43:43 AM

With the continuing trend of an upward Bitcoin price, we should be expecting more and more incentives for scammers, hackers, phishers and similar people to be trying their best luring people out of their hard-earned money by promising them returns of investment with sky-is-the-limit proportions. And with new people coming in to the world of cryptocurrency, there can be many who can easily fall victims to different schemes leaving participants with empty bags later and some blaming Bitcoin for their predicaments. Newbies and even veterans alike should be careful at all times and always remember that if something is too good to be true then most probably it is...

It is sad that for people in the media any scam that uses Bitcoin as the medium of exchange or currency is labeled as Bitcoin scam but when a scam is using the fiat money it is not in anyway called as the Dollar scam.

Have you been a victim of an elaborate cryptocurrency-related scam that cost you some money? Please share some details here so we can all learn from each other's mistakes...

i think is true. when bitcoin price growth up,  scammers/hackers/pisher or something like that must be growth up to. I remember in 2017 when price bitcoin only $2500-$3000 very few project scams and very little news about hackers and pishing. But at the end of the 2017 when price bitcoin up to $19000++, in that moment scam, pishing and hackers many found. Maybe because the value of bitcoin is very tempting which makes some people will do anything to get bitcoin
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earning bitcoin is hard but i still keep fighting on: August 09, 2019, 01:41:26 PM
Bitcoin has been great throughout its entire existence. It gives us extra income and helped us achieve our financial goals, but that will not come easy.

TRADING. The main source of getting an income would be trading. The name already sounds hard, what more would be the application. Countless loss but still have patience on trying again. I continue fighting.

HODLING. The laziest of them all. All you need to do is to buy a definite amount and wait for it to get higher. The only enemy is the long term patience and greedyness. Its tiring but i continue fighting.

MINING. Well, i skipped this because i dont mine and ai dont have any resources to do it.

CAMPAIGNS. This thing becomes rare these days and if they have, theere are only few people who get listed. Most probably those with higher ranks or higher merit achievement.

I always woke up having 20 posts deleted almost everyday and all the comments ive posted removed because of off-topic reasons. I always end up not having a minimimum post count on my campaign and seems like my account are the only account who is monitored. Its more frustrating i guess. I feel like they do not want me to tell my opinion or something.

Signature campaigns arent that much profitable not like last year. Even i dont meet the post count every week, i still try my best to give more intellectual opinion as possible. I continue fighting
from the first i know about bitcoin, im only earn bitcoin with two ways, trading and doing some campaign. by trading I get more bitcoin than a campaign. because in my opinion it is indeed easier to get bitcoin through trading, buy when prices go down and sell when bitcoin prices increase. even when I am wrong in assessing the increase in bitcoin prices, for example if I buy bitcoin for $ 10,000 and after that bitcoin has decreased in price, then at that time I will definitely sell my bitcoin to reduce the losses I get. and when the price of bitcoin began to rise, at that time I returned to buy bitcoin and I will sell again when the price is according to my estimates. although not much profit, but if you always get profit from this, isn't trading a very easy thing for bitcoin earnings. and for the campaign, im only joining with a good project to earn some bitcoin. therefore I personally prefer trading over other methods
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious question about Bitcoin. Is it a reliable and stable investment? on: August 08, 2019, 06:29:50 AM
Hi guys. I have a friend who's parents are looking for alternatives and want to invest money into something other than their IRA account. They have a fixed IRA with about $100K, but they are unsatisfied with the miserable amount of interest they're getting. I mentioned to them that bitcoin is a possible alternative and one they can look into. Do you agree? Do you guys consider bitcoin a reliable and stable investment for long term holding(5-10yrs)? Is it safe to assume the only direction(barring a few dips here and there) bitcoin will eventually go from here is up? Do you foresee it going below $10K, or even $9K ever again? Is it even possible to see the lows we saw a few months ago(ie $3500) ever again?

Please give me your thoughts. IRA or Bitcoin for the long term?
just like members here say, bitcoin is not stable and very risky if you don't have knowledge. I suggest if you still choose bitcoin as a long-term investment, it would be good for you to learn and find out various information about bitcoin. just a little bit of information that you can tell your friend's parents, all the news about bitcoin (good or bad) in various countries, slightly affects the bitcoin price itself
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will China Accept Bitcoin As A Currency? on: August 07, 2019, 05:24:28 PM
China is appearing to soften its stance on cryptocurrencies as of late

"In an unexpected move, a major Chinese state bank has posted what appears to be a positive infographic on its website detailing the history of Bitcoin and some basic cryptocurrency concepts. The infographic notes the impressive gains that Bitcoin has benefitted from recently and appears to address the relevance of cryptocurrency in today’s world.
Leading crypto payment gateway Coinpayments recently formed a partnership with directory listing site Cryptwerk, in a move that will no doubt help increase adoption within the industry. In the press release regarding the partnership, Sean Mackay from Operations at Coinpayments raised an interesting point when he said that “It’s important to remember to not just hodl your crypto, but also to spend it to help increase adoption. Since the crypto space is still early days, spending and transferring cryptocurrency has never been so important!”
Trading of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in China has been illegal since the country banned Bitcoin exchanges back in 2017. While the ban forced some exchanges to move their operations to other countries, it is believed that millions of Chinese citizens still trade cryptocurrencies through subversive means. Although trading is banned, mining cryptocurrency in the country is still legal, and it is estimated that 60 percent of all Bitcoin’s hash power comes from China.
The change follows a recent legal ruling by China’s Hangzhou Internet Court that classified Bitcoin as a commodity that should be considered ‘digital property.’ While the ruling didn’t go so far as to give it a ‘legal currency’ status, the recognition by an authoritative body is evidence of changing mindsets within the country."

This brings the question of will china accept cryptocurrency as a currency or will it just stop its level of support at accepting it as a commodity [/font]

-source : https://cryptocurrencynews.com/china-stance-cryptocurrency/
if this news is not from the direct government, I think this is still just a discourse. This statement is the same as in Indonesia, even the Indonesian president himself said that "Indonesian people from now on must know more about cryptocurrency". you can see at https://www.cnnindonesia.com/teknologi/20190316234831-185-377908/jokowi-minta-muda-mudi-indonesia-paham-soal-ai-hingga-bitcoin
but once again, in my opinion this is just a discourse because it is very clear that the Chinese government has yet to ratify the regulation of bitcoin. I think maybe in the next few years this can only become a reality
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a Dream... on: August 07, 2019, 06:45:36 AM
One day, I'll be able to buy daily groceries on OpenBazaar using Lightning Network.

Looks like the first step has been taken at Farmer's Market, University District, Seattle right now...

I would be very happy if something like this really happened in my country. we all certainly do not expect all stores to accept bitcoin as a means of payment, but I am very sure that your hope for bitcoin in the future is as a transaction tool in various places will become a reality. because as technology advances, maybe later bitcoin will begin to be accepted by everyone in various countries as a legal payment tool. we hope so ^^
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people or percentage has held at least 50 or 100 btc at one point? on: August 06, 2019, 03:37:26 PM
Thus there probably are many would be millionaires even now had they kept the btc?  How much people around the world would you say that is around?  Are there lot of people back then who had say 500 or 1000 btc and bought it for like 10 cents and then sold it at 1 dollar and thought great i made a great profit?  Then they did not follow btc after that only to see how much it has went up later on?
maybe no one knows for sure, but I have the assumption that if the price of bitcoin is high, the number of holders of large amounts of bitcoin will decrease, but conversely if the price of bitcoin has decreased, then the holders of large amounts of bitcoin will increase. I assume so after seeing the increase in the price of bitcoins which almost reached $ 20K and many bitcoin holders who sold some of their bitcoin and when in 2018 when bitcoin almost touched the price of $ 3000, the bitcoin millionaires returned to collect their bitcoins periodically
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 1 Bitcoin equal to half million USD? on: August 06, 2019, 08:02:20 AM
So I was thinking.
According to Google, the 2013 estimates of total m2 money supply in US was 10.5 trillion. So if I owned 1 usd today that would be a so a very small percentage of the total number, yes?
But I can own 1 bitcoin today and that means I can own 0.0000048% of total btc supply..

If you think about it, 0.0000048% of total US m2 money would be 504,000 usd.. half a million

So can we say that 1 Btc = $500,000?

Lets discuss..
bitcoin and conventional money are not the same although both can be used for transactions. so, if you calculate that 1 bitcoin = $ 500K is very unlikely. I say this because the source and total supply of the two are very different. but if is only your dream, i accept it cause this is my dream and hope too ^^
155  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you want to invest in crypto? on: August 05, 2019, 10:11:02 AM
I do wanted to invest in crypto. But the thing is that, I am afraid for some risks to take. Most especially that in these days, there are lots of scam projects. And it is so hard to determine which is just a fale and real crypto projects that will surely gain for us.
Before you invest in a new project, I suggest that you first study the project. A few tips from me in observing a new project. First, check in what areas the project works (like banking, technology, game, real estate and else), look for projects that are moving in areas that suit you. Second, get to know the team that handles the project. Third, look for various information (rating, trustscore, start and end date or else) about the project on various trusted cryptocurrency blogs and forums. Lastly, if you are still unsure of a new project, it's good to invest with an old project that is still developing and more reliable so that you don't experience losses in investing
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now? on: August 04, 2019, 11:10:13 PM
My personally opinion is better before advise, newbie must learn more information about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Cause i think if you only want to get some profit with bitcoin only look at increase and decrease a price, i think in the future you will suffer loss cause in crypto world Many things that affect bitcoin, not only just price increases or decrease
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: August 04, 2019, 05:06:59 PM
cryptocurrency market started to grow day after day, and everyone now started to own coins, so the question now which come to all the coin's holders , how to protect your digital coin from losing, stealing, hacking, etc ?

Imagine that you are a new player in the crypto world and have no idea about this topic.
What are you doing now? Read the book? You invest your savings in bitcoin, maybe you look at other coins (alts) or maybe you see that the price is falling and you're waiting to buy even lower. If so, do you know when to buy? What's your plan for this moment? Smiley
the state of the crypto world now is not the same as before. if you means in here is invest by trading, maybe the standard concept is still the same as before, buy when lower price and sell when price increase. but if you want to invest with other coins (altcoins), i think you must learn carefully that altcoins so that you don't lose your money in the next time
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Traditional Payment Processors on: August 03, 2019, 09:06:31 AM
It's been a decade since Bitcoin emerged as a decentralized digital currency for the people. While it's no secret that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrrencies have some drawbacks, they're still a great alternative to Fiat when it comes to making payments without a centralized entity in charge of our funds.

With latest advancements such as DAGs, smart contracts, Layer-Two scaling solutions, Dandelion Protocol, Zero Knowledge Proofs, and more, it's becoming more evident that crypto will someday replace traditional payment processors like PayPal, Apple Pay, and Android Pay. Yet, Blockchain technology is still struggling with user adoption and regulatory compliance.

Nonetheless, do you believe that there's hope for Bitcoin to beat traditional payment processors or will those same payment processors adapt to the Blockchain in the future? Huh
I would be glad if both of these things (traditional payment and bitcoin or other currency) work together to make a better payment system. Because in my opinion, if you can knock each other down you will never be able to. Because it has advantages and strengths in each system.
