@JJG: I know that you just use $6.66K as an example, but that hardly amounts to much in US...basic level living and not even on the two coasts. A median household income in US is 74.6K/year. https://www.fool.com/the-ascent/research/average-us-income/Of course, when used as an add-on, it would provide a boost, but i don't think many on WO would agree that it is a sweet deal after many years of ups and downs. I have diabetes. So we would like to spend the next 5,10,15 years left having fun. So spending btc may happen for us. Hoping for so many more years to you ... and damn yes, have the fun of your lives, travel, live in the place state you want and listen to no one... you have hodled, worked with BTC what most of the people didn't, take your fruits whenever you feel like it.

Interesting to see yesterdays pump with such low inflows to the ETFs (one of the lowest so far?) at the same time GBTC dumping hard. Although, most of the pump happened in the EU hours. Probably that pump has something to do with the news about China (Hong Kong) spot BTC ETFs - and most people are completely misinterpreting it. Many still want China to accept Bitcoin again, even though they don't realize that it is much better for Bitcoin that nothing changes there. I think that news is irrelevant Just BTC market behavior

Spending from a 20 btc stash is okay if you are over 70 and have other income. One coin a year till you are ninety or .85 coin a year spending those amounts either way should work.
Especially if you don’t care about descendants.
Spending from a 20 btc stash if you are under 50 needs to be very small spends under 0.5 a year would be good.
Since i engaged in merits numerology tonight...phil is pretty close to 7777 as number 7 is considered "lucky" in the West. Maybe he can get to 7777 (from 7669) by halving? Could be a nice "trick" my phone number is xxx xx7-777x so I always have four sevens Haha i'm a 7's man to always doing evertything with a Nr 7 in it lol

I was thinking about the following hypothetical the other day:
Let's assume that bitcoin goes to 100-300K (let's say, 200K average) this cycle and somewhere along the line you sell a substantial % to invest in property, luxuries, etc ( whichever you choose). In 10 years afterwards, bitcoin goes to 5 mil, which means that you only "captured" just 4% of potential value.
How would you feel about it? I guess, it would also depend on the remainder (that you didn't sell), but still.
Personally, I know that years later, I am not particularly fond of my decisions to sell AMZN, AAPL and TSLA early, even though I made very nice gains on them. Sometimes, I consider these occurancies as my investment follies, but, again, you cannot be 100% efficient.
Of course, it is possible to NEVER sell btc and, basically, put this decision on the shoulders of descendants, but you cannot guarantee that they would be wise about it, right? At least, I can't.
At some point, I would have to start to spend btc and this point is coming relatively soon. Alas, to spend even a relatively small amount of btc on things like kitchen remodeling causes a bit of mixed feelings on my part as I contemplate the scenarios described above. That could be one expensive kitchen 5-10 years down the road. Withdrawals from IRA are taxable and I put all my stables back into the market during 2023. I would probably do a mix of "things", but don't want to take on HELOC or anything like this. Decisions, decisions...
Didn’t read the whole post in bed but quick response Don’t mind selling something to live life If spend 5-10% and in then years or 5 or 2 reaching 1-2-3-4-5 whatever mil a coin Then 90% of the remaining or 80-70-60 …. Will provide well

My advice for what it's worth:
Bitcoin and your life (including health and family) are rare.
So take care of them.
Everything else is in absolute over abundance and only made to fool you they are not. This goes for: - shit coins (obviously) - fiat money - women - cars - houses - jobs - entertainment - video games - products - food & drink - nick nacks
Hmmm highlighted a few For example if you’re able spending a little bit more the I think some of them are worthy… not that it has to be the highest end of them all But for example I do own 2 cars and which I do like one is a bit of a fast car machine (but in Belgium there are some rules and taxes and mine is in a good level compared with many others … I don’t like paying stupid taxes etc… so I don’t got my self to the highest level but something I’m very happy with… the second car is a jeep/defender old school which I also love for every day use and has like only 140 € taxes a year, so no costs and keeping value as not increasing over the years)… I love them more compared to a very small or just car I don’t like…. Besides spending a lot of time in them… Same as motorcycles I love them so I like a type which I just want. For woman…. I spend almost all of my free time with her and she’s lovely so why not wanting a woman Food and drinks is just my life together with the heart for traveling… I have done the cheaper but also willing to pay extra from time to time bc this is my thing I love doing the most… earning some extra and doing nothing isn’t me. Big BUT… I do everything reasonable imo and I can see when item and price don’t match…. Never bothered to leave something for another option. Entertainment or sports also a value + in many cases… House/private residence massively important as that’s the place we’re we find our peace…. I like a bit more of space and have a small walk around instead of everything in one room… I don’t need the 10 bed and bathroom mansion but I like a bit more of space as were I grown up that’s for sure. Just a quick and short reaction
