My goodness, where did you get that countdown from?

New ATH? 100k?

I know you mean the Halving Event. But there is nothing on the countdown.

I was talking about the GIF itself actually.

I rendered separate 3D models of the rollercoaster guy and the rocket engine firing,  took screencaps of each at the appropriate angles and then photoshopped them together... well actually, GIMPed them but that doesn't very nice.

I remember the last total eclipse i've seen 30 years ago. It was in early summer and the most spooky thing was the silence, when the birds stopped singing and the bees stopped flying.

My first was in July 1963. My older brother and his friends drove about a thousand miles to Grand-mere PQ to see it.

https://www.nfb.ca/film/eclipse-at-grandmere/

What I remember was the birds chirping like it was dusk as totality was approaching and then falling silent before reawakening as the sun broke through again. The other thing was the eerie waves of light that moved across the ground during totality.

I saw those waves again during a near-total solar eclipse sometime in the early 1990s but not this time even though it was over 99% total here in downtown Toronto. I guess it had to do with the fact that it was sunny when I saw them in 1963 and in the 1990s but overcast here yesterday. I assume they were caused by the corona.

I wonder if that one you saw 30 years ago was the same one I saw. I didn't even know there was going to be one until it started to get dark in the middle of the day. I barely had time to run inside and make a pinhole viewer but I saw those faint bands of light moving across the ground.

Are you in North America?

Edit: I guess it was this one.

Interesting to see yesterdays pump with such low inflows to the ETFs (one of the lowest so far?) at the same time GBTC dumping hard.
Although, most of the pump happened in the EU hours.

Since GBTC converted to an ETF they have lost almost 50% of their AUM under management in less than 3 months. They started at 619k and are now at 318k

I'm liking those numbers and can't wait till it is at 100%. Another 3 months perhaps?

I’m speculating it will bottom out soon, there is more than likely a core set of investors and/or lth who will retain and not sell. I do think it’s getting close to the line maybe another month or so, and selling will dwindle to normal movement is t might turn out to be catalyst too for big uppity movements but that’s just a pie in the sky guess, I have nfi tbh.

You can back test it if you like. .. but you have to start with the right premises and valuating your stash based on the 200-WMA in terms of figuring out your budget, and right now 20 BTC is ONLY worth $663k according to the 200-WMa, and 5 years ago, you would have had needed 191 BTC to be at the equivalent 200WMA valuation, and so if you had spent 191 BTC at 10% per year, right now you would still have around 75.3 BTC, so you would have had kept your value by spending 10% per year, and if you had done the max 10% withdrawal for that whole time, you would have had withdrawn close to $2 million in value during that time... and your remaining stash BTC would be even more valuable (in terms of dollars) than they were when you started.

When I looked at the past data I came up taking 20-25% in a bull year for 4yr future period. So sort of in that 4-6%/yr range. The main reason I went this way is because of the variance in % withdrawal required when you do it annually(or monthly etc) You could end up withdrawing more, like closer to 8-9%/yr. I’m still playing around with my data tho. Stash size is a consideration for sure though ;-)

You would have thought a company losing half its potential business in just 3 months would set off a few alarm bells ringing internally but not with those guys I guess.
They seem pretty happy somehow, like the dog burning house meme.

Are they taking advice from Bob Iger on how to run things?

I find it so strange that they would rather lose customers than offer more competitive rates... It's better to earn a little less than to earn nothing, right?

They must have some type of quick exit idea in their mind or whatever.

I'd rather be earning 0.25% or whatever on 600K + tonnes more infllow probably BTC than 1.5% on 0 BTC.

Bollinger Bands say Bitcoin to $100K around the 4th of July. They’ve had a pretty good history of signaling the next major move upward. I think it’s a bit early personally, but I don’t make the markets. Face melting rally should be in store for us this summer. It would be hard to sit on the sidelines waiting for an entry point knowing what’s coming.
