141  Other / Meta / Re: Activity - how to be calculated on: October 30, 2017, 06:53:02 PM
I am new and I have read several post regarding activity point in this forum. But I do not know how to calculate it. What if I post 50posts in a week and logged myself in the forum account ? What are the factors that will help me to improve my points? What is the max points anyone may earn in a week ? Is there any one who can tell me in details? I would like to hear with example. Hope great forum members will help me. I need help badly
You are not so new any more. You are already a Jr. Member! Congratulations!
I still need to rank up. Here's what I found.
You can read this post about activity.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0
"The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour."
Make a post every day and it will add up. 14 for every two week period.

It means I will get max 14 activity points, no matter how many posts I make ? If I only make 1 post, I will get 14 points in 14 days, that is it ? So if it goes like this, I will get 140 activity points in 20 weeks if I create 1 post once in 14 days period, right ? Damn. it will take years to gain 300+ activity points with regular activity. So, it means the person with higher rank actually made a great sacrifice. They worked hard and consistently for years.
Hats off

Yes. Simply put you cannot get more than 14 activity every two week period. It's called activity because it's a measurement of how active you are on the forum and is in place to stop people just trying to spam their way through the ranks. There's a table here of how long it will take you to achieve each rank assuming you post in every period:

1 X 14 = 14
2 X 14 = 28
3 X 14 = 42   --  Jr. Member ( 1.5 month)
4 X 14 = 56
5 X 14 = 70   --  Member (2.5 month)
6 X 14 = 84
7 X 14 = 98
8 X 14 = 112
9 X 14 = 126   --  Full Member (4.5 month)
10 X 14 = 140
11 X 14 = 154
12 X 14 = 168
13 X 14 = 182
14 X 14 = 196
15 X 14 = 210
16 X 14 = 224
17 X 14 = 238
18 X 14 = 252   --  Senior Member (8.5 month)
19 X 14 = 266
20 X 14 = 280
21 X 14 = 294
22 X 14 = 308
23 X 14 = 322
24 X 14 = 336
25 X 14 = 350
26 X 14 = 364
27 X 14 = 378
28 X 14 = 392
29 X 14 = 406
30 X 14 = 420
31 X 14 = 434
32 X 14 = 448
33 X 14 = 462
34 X 14 = 476
35 X 14 = 490   --  Hero Member (1.3 years)

Great info, thanks about this... I have been asking how many post in a week is required. I Actually got my jr member in 2 month period. Will your account get banned in posting and spamming..

Offcourse it will, read the rules and try to contribute to the community instead of focussing on ranks, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
142  Other / Meta / Re: How to display/increase TRUST? on: October 28, 2017, 01:38:17 PM
I'm not going to make any assumptions with the trust you have received, but trust will only show up green if you have been given positive feedback by someone on default trust. Any new accounts aren't going to increase your trust rating visually.

Read more about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211858.0
Thank for the link to understand trust.
What i observe their that its none of our control.

It's in your control. You need to earn trust in order to get trust feedback. It's giving and taking. So just build trust within the community and everything will pay back.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wagerr and Edgeless - Regulation? on: October 27, 2017, 05:07:15 PM
Wagerr is P2P and does not need regulations or licence.

Edgeless devs said they are waiting for licence.

Agree edgeless is currently working on a casino license, if they get it. They can just be in business like every casino, so no treat from the EU or other government, unless they want to take on all the casino's that have a license but that won't happen in the next 100 years.

I love the concept with EDG I really do and I want to buy in but its hard to know if its worth it with the licensing approval on the line. I also like VSL that is also a great project to follow last time a checked a few weeks ago my problem is this: 0.66 a EDG is a big gamble on a maybe like what is the teams plan if the licensing doesn't ever get approved? Like just playing the devils advocate on this one because it is the gambling industry after all and we've all seen that movie "Casino" you have to grease the right palms usually to get a gaming license granted. I mean I would support the team moving ahead with the project even if they didn't grant the license I mean who cares its decentralized??

It's really hard to not get a license. There are so many countries where you could get a license. It's just a question of time. The best part is that there is a product, so you are not investing in an idea, but a real working (welll it's in alpha status now) product. For now it's just speculating when the license is coming and be prepared for an increase in value if they announce that the license has been granted.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG COIN on: October 26, 2017, 09:40:59 AM
BTG Means Bitcoin Gold.  My While family know about bitcoin and I'm told my big brother to buy BTG because it a perfect time to buy btg coin. Then my brother buy btg around $5999.  we also buy btg $10 k, I knew it is most value able coin so don't  miss this change.

you can't buy btg mate. as no exchange has yet listed BTG on their exchange... I think you mean btc= bitcoin

Over 40% in eight hour, pump beging around midnight gmt, what is going on,top secret
and all that whan btc rise
I guess there is a big news that will come, probably the license and now it has not announce yet and maybe insiders who knows the information
keeps buying now. I can't wait to see another ATH, I hope we will end this month with a good price.

I count on platform launch soon, maybe was something on discord

I guess it could be EDG added on Upbit with a lot of Korean people interested in Edgeless.I see no other reason for a sudden pump.
That could be part of the reason but we cannot monitor it now as it was not included with the list of exchanges that is trading Edgeless.
I'm checking here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/edgeless/#markets but I didn't found the new site, also the site is in korean so it's hard for us to understand. What we have now is just a pure guess but regardless of what it is, we should be thankful that once again Edgeless is pumping.

Well even if the site is in korean, the graph speaks for itself and looks to be the exact same price as bittrex. https://upbit.com/exchange?code=CRIX.UPBIT.BTC-EDG

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to bring in the kids? on: October 22, 2017, 06:26:37 PM
For the future of Cryptocurrency to be bright, kids (age 5—21) need to be attracted too. I have gone through the various Crypto products and found out that none are kid-friendly.
Crypto developers seem not to have realized that kids, aside advertisements make great products popular.

The Crypto world is a bit harsh and unwelcoming. People really need to feel at home here. Why not we begin to add features that kids can't do without.. features such as chats, social media, Instagram-like pics sharing service,  gaming, Free storage for videos/pics/audios, free audio/video calls, Appstore, Books center, Creativity center, Biz center, and make them mobile friendly. A company could create a beautiful Platform where it brings together different Altcoins that provide those services  Or just create the services itself. An Altcoin like Decent has similar concept but its list of services are few. Steemit also did a little in this area but its features can be boring to kids. {Important:  I wish Steemit could turn off that earning sections below posts that show how much dollars people are earning. That feature should be confined to Steemit wallets or be optional...it's a BIG distraction and very unprofessional in my opinion. If you're part of steemit developers please do something about this}

Believe it or not, kids have a way of adding fun to things. They are very loyal to what they enjoy whether those things make them money or not. Time to draw them close to the crypto World and watch them make crypto great.

there is a facebook like blockchained powered website called investfeed. It's easy to use and tends to be the facebook of the crypto world. Kids can use it if it was ever marketed to that part of the society. Your point of view is true, however there are not a lot of applications for kid friendly ideas to be powered by a blockchain. Maybe in the future a smart person will invent something like a blockchain find your toy app Smiley
151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which Tradingtools to use? on: October 22, 2017, 02:40:42 PM
Hi Everybody,
In have problèmes with my phone and i must change soon. So i ask me next questions:
 - Are there more and best trading applications on Android or IOS? Because i read about programs like Cryptowatch, that can give you a alert on your Smartwatch. I supose there are other interesting programs..
- Which programs and Tools do you use like invester and trader? Which are the most interesting?
On internet you find so much, that finally you dont know if you have make a good choice. I read about some tradingplatforms that connected to Bitfinex or Polionex i think?
Sorry , if the question is already asked. But it woud be interesting to make a nice guide to all new cryptoinvesters.
Thanks!

I too can recommend blockfolio, it's fast and with the right price alert you can always be on top of your game. For the first time just register all your funds so you have a daily/weekly/monthly overview of your gains and losses.

and for checking new coins i just have the coinmarketcap app on my phone for me it works better than the site on mobile.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Big Dev Teams Successful?? on: October 22, 2017, 02:24:28 PM
Ok, I will start by stating that we are a 4 person dev/start up team. And compared to the 20+ people in other start up teams competing for ICO money, we might look, well, small. Not too mention all the fancy big names that are on as advisors for the project. I get it, they want to look like they got it all together and are already successful.
But then I think of all the biggest tech corporations all started by 1 or 2 people in their garage or basement or dorm room. I don’t think one of them started with more than 3 people and they surely didn't have a big group of big name advisors backing them. Most entrepreneurs have to fight their way to the top against all odds with people telling them their idea is stupid or crazy or unworkable. Yet they proved them all wrong and that made them strong enough to go on to be in the 10% whose businesses succeed.
They all started with 1 or 2 people with a dream to make something valuable, and I realize we are in good company. That’s us, just like them starting with a dream and a drive to make that dream happen through problem solving, a can do attitude, and a will to not give up no matter what. Yes our little team is in good company.
https://www.moneytree.social/

If your idea is ground breaking everything will come great in the end. It does not matter in the beginning whether you have 4 people or 100 people working if you can't deliver a product in the end in both examples you will fail.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sources instead of Coins, Regulated Infrastructure Currencies & ISOs on: October 22, 2017, 01:30:26 PM
Hy folks,

i am working currently on something, and i think its time to involve more people in the community into it.

the point is, that the regional national banker cartells have good reasons to ban cryptocurrencies and ICOs, and they will upkeep their banking cartells if cryptoeconomics doesnt upgrade itself.

i have already an idea and a path how to do it.

we create a new type of cryptocurrency that we can then regulate ourselves.

for industrial generative engineering.

i propose calling those token "sources" since their main goal is the upkeep and development of essential productive infrastructure, that is basically the foundation of the IT interconnected urban global community we are currently living in. Only something like that will be able to handle the banker cartells and the fear of the population that depends on them since they are managing the rewards for the regional infrastructure development and maintenance currently.

this is the only way you can in the long-term deal with banker cartels like the chinese government.

you evolve or you die. even the world bank might be able to threaten you if you are not upgrading cryptoeconomics.

you aint going to be successfull with just encrypted "coins" crappy ICO and energywasting mining competition.

i can and will give you more information later about that

we can do this if we do a good job and stay consistenly on it.

the alternative is the current path that, you might destroy you regional bankers cartels but you will end up with a new pyramid of power depictive as the pyriamid of productivity,

this will be a world in which regions that create and maintain industrial productive equipment will basically dominate the world, i know that because i live in such a region

you arent aware about this yet, but you will be later

regards

You miss the idea of cryptocurrency if you say you want to regulate it. Because regulation = centralization, and the whole point bitcoin was ever introduced was because to decentralize it.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: National Crypto: Decentralized or Not? on: October 18, 2017, 03:12:06 PM
Wanted to talk about this interesting situation with more and more countries jumping in a crypto-train.

This far, sometimes there's not much info to speculate, but what do you think the general trend would be:

A) independent digital currency with its own ongoing value & exchange rate
B) a currency that is nothing more than a "crypto" version of a regular coin

I didn't do much investigation yet, so if you know of and can list some of the planned national cryptocurrencids that belong in the "A" list, that would be very interesting. At this point, all I know is that Jp's J-Coin rate will mirror that of their Yen, and finding this out today is what's inspired this thread.

In my opinion, "B" type digital currencies can not be deemed legit, in a way – as far as general idea behind cryptocurrency is considered. Decentralization is still the most important point, and when a central bank directly or indirectly has a control of token value.... it's getting closer to fiat than crypto.

Discuss!

 Cool

I think A will be the general trend for now. It will lure people into crypto currency (which is good). In the long term however i think these (LAND) coins will have the same disadvantages as national currency (valuation issues) and people will go into bitcoin.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Plunging on: October 10, 2017, 05:10:56 PM
With Bitcoin rising steadily, and most Altcoins coming crashing down. What does the community think about the future of Altcoin prices and the future of Altcoins as well?

I'll answer first. So I don't really see a need for most altcoins and I think people are going to start seeing through this as well, slowly but surely that is.

I await yalls responses.

Article - https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/4875-bitcoin-price-surges-toward-all-time-high-as-altcoins-plummet/

With the fork a lot of people get out of alts and into bitcoin. After the fork people will get out of bitcoin and into alts, to increase their BTC value. Bitcoin dominance is now at 52% and last week was about 44% so yeah it will revert back and all dumps will be quick gains. Now is actually the time to buy into alts.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Initial exchange price. on: October 10, 2017, 11:09:34 AM
Hello, could someone please explain how the price after ICO on the exhanges is decided? Is it up to the exchange to decide what the start price should be? I know it then changes proportionally to its market cap but I don't understand how/who decides if each coin is going to be worth 1$, 1.10$ or 1.20$ (for example) when the coin has just been listed.

Also, ENJ coin is currently in pre-sale but they will be doing public crowdsale next month.  What is the difference between pre-sale and public crowdsale?

Thank you.

a Pre-sale is a pre-sale  Cool.

Example:

Total coins is 100

Pre-sale 50 coins will be distributed for a price of 1 coin = 1 eth

After the pre-sale starts the crowdsale

Crowdsale 50 coins will be distritbuted for a price of 1 coin= 2 eth.

Main difference between the crowdsale and a pre-sale is the price of the coin. The price is usually lower during the pre-sale than during a crowdsale. The pre-sale also tends to give out less coins that during the crowdsale due to the lower price.

nice consept and based on ownership what do you think about it?

don't think it has any active devs. The idea is good but the development has stood still for year or even more

They have an active dev. The problem however is that the dev has no communication towards the community. But i think that if you like the idea and believe that that idea will succeed it's never too bad to invest. People now wan't a quick gain and forget what this is all about. There are coins that try to revolutionize the whole world as we know of. Some will succed and a lot not. The ideas that can disrupt the world will be a good investment in the long run.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which country do you think the most needed the national cryptocurrency ? on: October 08, 2017, 01:25:53 PM
There are lots of rumors or maybe truth which are trying to make national cryptocurrency.
There were Japan and China which tried to make the national cryptocurrency to get the control of "virtual" economy.
But I think there are lots of countries definitely needed the national cryptocurrency for people in that country.
Do you have in mind any country needed the national cryptocurrency? Please share Smiley

1 country i know for sure is India. They are starting or thinking about issuing their own coin. I think countries where hyperinflation has been in state for the last couple of year can get their feets back by going into cryptocurrency. The large countries (US/EU) won't do that for the next few years because they have their own central bank and issuing a cryptocurrency now would disrupt the whole financial system (bank/loans/mortgages/Intra country currency valuation).  I do hope that in a few year countries or at least the people living their will adopt bitcoin and making it mainstream so we can finally end the whole being controlled idea that is happening now.
