We shouldn't be expecting too much from Manchester United in this season I believe. Their performances on last weeks were promising maybe but they are still an unpredictable team that's the reality. They would be grateful even if they finish the season at the fourth position in the worst case. Because their job will be really difficult in even making this happen. There are many rivals for them to achieve the top four. Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham... These teams wouldn't forgive their mistakes easily.

It was a great weekend for not only Bayern Munich but also Dortmund. They both obtained victories in their matches. Dortmund had a really hard time as their opponent was much tougher than Bayern Munich's. Hoffenheim made big difficulties for them but they still defeated Hoffenheim by 3-2. They made it in an away match and this was another nice win for Dortmund. And Bayern Munich didn't have any difficulty in destroying Hertha Berlin. They won against them away by 4-1. The gap of six points still persists now. But it must be feeling good for Dortmund to be performing very well.
That victory has to sacrifice Dortmund player, Haaland. I don't know what the progress is?, when he needs for the long break that possibly will be affected Dortmund's performance next. as we know at the beginning and champions league without Haaland, they were eliminated early and the possible next, Dortmund don't have a sharped striker, they will be lost and don't have an executor to passing the ball on goals. it will influence on the position of the Bundesliga also. Haaland is a really big player already now. He is the source of Dortmund's most goals now. He has scored so many goals at this age and become already a great striker in football history. He is doing it in one of the big leagues like the Bundesliga. When he was absent due to an injury, Dortmund didn't have a good time in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. It was even expected from Haaland to be back by the new year. But he is a so determined player that he started playing again much earlier. In short, Dortmund should do everything they can to be able to keep him for at least one more year. |

The next match of PSG seems to be really interesting. They are going to play away against Lille which are the last champion team in the league. But apart from that, they are doing really bad this season. They are at the 10th position in the standings currently. They lost to Brest by 2-0 away the last time but their general form recently has been good actually. If they maintain it by the coming matches, they can continue to climb to upper positions. But PSG is a big hindrance for them. Their chance of winning the match may be not high but they could draw with PSG at least.

Athletic Bilbao indeed aren't a weak team and they showed it to us in their Super Cup matches too. They were the last champions of that cup and they played a finale against Real Madrid this season. Maybe they lost but they still did a great work. And now, they would most probably target the Copa del Rey title. They haven't been that much successful in this tournament like they have in the Super Cup. But they are still strong and capable enough to cause big difficulties for Real Madrid. It'd be an interesting match and maybe Athletic Bilbao would win also.
No doubt about Athletic Bilbao quality and form but still they need some very hard work to beat Real Madrid because their home record against Real Madrid is very poor in last 3 matches they lost against them and their win against Barcelona was in extra time so still it is very long way for them to have any chance into this cup we have some other very good teams as well in this competition like Betis, Real Sociedad and Valencia all these teams are good and have quality to win this cup if Real Madrid lost in quarter-final against them. Right now, Betis is staying at third spot with very good record and Real Sociedad is at sixth even they have very bad time in last few weeks, but they can turn tables into their favor in any match. Real Sociedad started the season very good actually. We all remember that they were even the leader in the La Liga for a long time some time ago. But their form has dropped down compared to before and we see them at the sixth position in the standings now. Their recent form is really bad and they can still do better if they improve their performance. It is good to see different teams at the top also and I hope that Real Sociedad can stay at this level at least until the end of the season. |

We saw a great match between Montpellier and Monaco. These teams both were having an average period of time in the league recently before this match. I didn't think any of them as the favourite of this match. Because they had nearly equal strength and performance. I was just expecting and hoping for a competitive match with many goals. And they gave this to me which made me happy. Monaco tried to make a huge comeback but they were devastated by the goal in the stoppage time (90+1') and lost by 3-2. But I appreciated the performance of each team.

Honestly, I can't say that a sum around 75 million euros for Dusan Vlahovic is too much. Because he has a great potential and this amount of money is given to many players these days. Teams are just not caring about splurging on some player anymore. And if we take Vlahovic's great performance into account, he seems to be worth buying for this sum. But the team which sign him should hope that Vlahovic gets used to the team easily. For example, we don't know if he can get used to the league and the team both if he goes to a different league than the Serie A.

It was a lucky week for Sevilla. They turned the game around after being 0-2 behind against Celta Vigo in their home match. It was still a 2-2 draw at the end maybe but the interesting part is not this result. The interesting part is that Real Madrid lost points too in a comfortable match. They hosted Elche and it seemed like an easy deal. But it wasn't. Just as Celta Vigo, Elche also got 2-0 ahead against Real Madrid. I was really worried that Real Madrid were even going to lose. But they ended it by 2-2 like Sevilla. As a result, the gap between them is still 4 points.  But Sevilla might not be this lucky in the coming matches. |

I'm starting to get excited about the possibility again that Liverpool can catch up with Manchester City if they go on like this. Manchester City just need to continue to lose more points for Liverpool to be able to get very near them. Until the Manchester City - Liverpool match, Liverpool will hope for this to happen. They will need a 3-point difference at worst to be able to equalize it by defeating Manchester City in Etihad. Maybe this sounds really difficult but not impossible in the end. Liverpool can really make this happen. They just need to be lucky too while performing well.

The nightmare persists for Galatasaray. They got another disappointing loss against Trabzonspor this time. Actually, they were doing good after getting 1-0 ahead in the match, but they couldn't increase the goal gap or keep the current score and lost by 1-2 in their home stadium. Trabzonspor consolidated their lead more. And Galatasaray have dropped down to the 15th place now. There is only a three-minute gap between them and the relegation area. They need to do something to solve this big problem otherwise we could even see Galatasaray in the second league all of a sudden.

Milan - Juventus was the biggest match of the week. It was important for Milan in terms of not falling behind Inter more. As Inter managed to defeat Venezia, Milan needed a win here. And Milan played really well against Juventus and didn't let them have so many chances too. Juventus didn't have even one shot on target I mean. But they still managed to draw with Milan by 0-0 and got one point. Milan players must be sad for missing a big chance. Napoli have caught them in the standings now and got past them also. But they have the same points now.

His contract is lasting until June 2023 for now. And there was some rumours in the previous transfer window also like he would leave the team. But this time, maybe this can get real. I remember Bayern Munich's statement about him and Haaland that they wouldn't go for Haaland as long as they have Lewandowski. But in case he leaves, then Bayern Munich would definitely be one of the strongest candidates to sign Haaland this summer.

The PSV - Ajax match in three days will be really awesome to watch I think. This is one of the most important matches for each team undoubtedly. Because they are racing for the Eredivisie title this season and PSV still lead the standings by being only one point ahead of Ajax now. PSV are really strong enough to be able to defeat Ajax. But even if they do this, I don't expect a win by a big goal gap also. Ajax are one of the greatest teams of this season in the Champions League too. They wouldn't like to lose this match very easily. Both teams to score would be a good choice to bet on in my opinion.

Lille are actually not too bad for quite many weeks in the standings now. They didn't lose their last eight league matches but won only three of them as far as I can see now. The only thing they need is to start a winning streak now. And their next match is today against Lorient home. Lille are in a better shape than Lorient obviously now and they should be winning this match without having too much problem. Lorient haven't been getting any win for a long time period. And Lille defeated them in their last home match by 4-0. Maybe they wouldn't have that big gap now but they can still win.
It is very doubtful that Lille will be able to make a good series of victories. They have not lost 8 matches already, but as you rightly noted, they have drawn 5 times, plus they have a zero balance of goals scored and conceded goals 27-27. This suggests that they play "like everyone else" and are not able to be above the "average" team. But in today's match, they are favorites due to the fact that the opponent is weak, and odds of them winning are 1.56. And they really made it against Lorient by a 3-1 score. Lille are still doing good but as you said we can't call them a great team still. They are in the recovery phase and it is doubtful whether they will keep this form up for a longer time. If they really aim to reach top positions in the standings, they have no other choice than continuing to win in the league. I would like to see the last champion finishing the season at a decent position for sure. They are good enough to do this now I guess. |

Manchester United got what they wanted easily by the goals they scored in the second half. They defeated Brentford by 3-1 and this was an important win for them surely. They needed to start recovering and they missed a big opportunity against Aston Villa before this match. From now on, I hope that we can watch a better Manchester United. They can still end the season at a decent position and I hope they make it. Bruno Fernandes have been really impressive for two weeks by the way. He made two assists this time.

Washington Wizards - Brooklyn Nets game was really competitive last night. Nets barely managed to get the win by 119-118 away and Irving played a big role in this win also. He was the top scorer of the game by 30 points and he has been very helpful for his team since he started to play in their away games. He still hasn't been vaccinated but he is still able to play at least in these away games. Actually, this is not fair as they are bending the rules but there is noone caring about it now also.

Manchester United are going to play one of their missing matches tomorrow night. Their next opponent is Brentford in an away match. In case Manchester United win this match, they will leave Arsenal behind and capture the sixth place in the standings. It will be depending on the winning score because even if Manchester United win the match, it does not guarantee that they will take the 5th position from Arsenal since the points will be the same and Arsenal is having better goal difference now (+8) while Manchester United +3 only. Sorry, I've just realized that I typed Arsenal instead of Tottenham. In case Manchester United become victorious tonight, they will leave Tottenham behind. They have a chance for the fifth position in the standings also but it doesn't seem realistic to me. Because there is a big goal average difference between Arsenal and Manchester United as you said also and I don't wait for Manchester United to destroy their opponent by a gap like that. Manchester United should be thankful even if they win this somehow as they are having difficult times lately. |

After being defeated and eliminated by Betis in the Copa del Rey, Sevilla are going to have a match away against Valencia today. This is an important match for Sevilla seemingly. Because this is their only match missing. And they have a golden opportunity right in front of them to drop the point interval with Real Madrid to two points. But they need to win this match first to do so. Valencia would make them difficulties I believe. But this is not an impossible match to win for Sevilla and I believe they will make it.

Something really interesting is going on with the DFB Pokal now. Because after Bayern Munich were eliminated by a huge score in the match against Gladbach, Dortmund also were eliminated by St. Pauli yesterday this time. I have zero idea about how this really happened. Because I checked Dortmund's lineup and they had their usual starting eleven. Even Haaland was playing in this match. And he scored a goal too but they still couldn't hinder a disappointing loss by 2-1. After a break of three years, it seems like there will be a different champion than Bayern Munich and Dortmund.
