Can we get wallet lock option when you have the time? I think many miners would want to see this.

Yes, actually I started to code it today, but then spent some time on that server configuration.

so glad to hear that  Roll Eyes

Is the pool down? I just a "backend is not connected" error message with a "call to bitcoind failed ... connection refused" My gf also mines here and she says her's is fine, so I pointed my miners at BTCGuild and I don't get any errors. It's just slush's pool for me.

obviously Magictux is skilled, but I have to question;  is he skilled enough to withstand an entire world of hackers attacking the exchange that handles 90% of btc market?
The attacks I'm sure are constant.   Alot of faith in anonymous people goes with owning BTC!

I'm sure he has hired a full staff

Hey Slush when you have time do you think you can implement a wallet lock option like BTCGUILD? If the address is changed it can't withdraw for 24hours and a notice is sent to the registered email. Could by some time for anyone that has a compromised account.

Why do people always try to reinvent the wheel?
150  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (1.5Thash/s) on: June 12, 2011, 03:46:55 PM
I am mining on two 5850 cards, but one of them keeps experiencing a connection error... why is this?
what software do you use? an old version of phoenix had this kind of problem.

I have the same problem with one of my 5870's.

Specs:
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
GUI Miner
3 5870's roughly Core=960-970 & Mem = 330
5870 that dc's, Core 970 & Mem 325

I've tried lowering the core clock but I still get the same problem.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the exchanges close on the weekends? on: June 12, 2011, 03:40:16 PM
Yeah okay.

So, erm.. you going to tell them or shall I?

You from the gubermint?
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the exchanges close on the weekends? on: June 12, 2011, 06:56:46 AM
You know how much money the exchanges make on fees? They wouldn't close at all unless they had to. Keep in mind they are running a business.

156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So when will the drop in price stop? on: June 11, 2011, 11:33:47 PM
It will stop dropping June 31st. I guarantee it.

When June 31st comes, the price of Bitcoins will be irrelevant.  Grin

what happens on the 31st?
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bubble exploding right in front of us?! on: June 11, 2011, 10:23:19 PM
If bitcoin survives a bubble like this and survives, there must be something backing it, even if its only the stubborness of its users.

I think this is true to a certain extent. It's currency if the PEOPLE believe its currency. If bitcoin takes a huge hit and doesn't get destroyed it will be stronger.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So when will the drop in price stop? on: June 11, 2011, 08:07:43 PM
$0/BTC = Infinity Bitcoins

Problem???

epic
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox monetary withdrawal taking 7 days, is this normal? on: June 11, 2011, 08:02:11 PM
My experience differed from yours. I withdrew a few hundred twice already and both times it got to my Dwolla account within same day. Only thing that took time was the wire from Dwolla to my bank account. Check your MtGox account history and see if you can check which dwolla account you sent it to. Maybe  accidently sent it to wrong account.
160  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5830's from Tigerdirect question on: June 11, 2011, 04:28:13 AM
I wouldn't feel right if I took one for free and sold it to compensate for my own losses, better for someone else to enjoy it.
