 Eligible for what? Is there any kind of token distribution?

That is right,  terms of the token distribution to be decided later.  The points is proportional to what you will get.

Hi
Just return back from the
project website! Lot of
pretty interesting stuff available
for learning.
I think we are heading towards using those methods in real life mode! So I'm in!
Anyway, would love to see
little a bit more details on that eligibility? Personally I want to know_ what will happen, if anyone wants to participate in all those 'eligible' tasks?

Thanks!

We should all encourage participation.  If we all work together then we can achieve much bigger things.

I also would like to suggest marketing is key of success for any project it depend on it how many people involve in it. There are some ongoing bounties campaigns you can read there and can decide easily which is fit for this project.

I agree,  if you see how many followers/subscribers are already in the newsletter, medium, fb, twitter, linkedin  ... there are at least 10,000 addressable audience.   You can check the stats for yourself.  Compare that with Inconomi, Golem or others and you will realize that the following here is potentially much bigger.

PM me if you can do a translation.

Do you offer other bounties to promote this project?

Signature campaign is good choice to spread the words and you can you use Twitter for social media platform. It's just a suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestion.  Will think about it.

Democratized Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Deep Learning is an advanced form of Artificial Intelligence.  A blockchain is a distributed transparent consensus based peer-to-peer network that has shown to be extremely resilient to adversarial attacks.  This paper explores the "Intuition Fabric" a fusion of Deep Learning technology on to a blockchain.  The goal of this platform is to build a system that leads to the democratization of AI.

Details can be found in the whitepaper:

http://intuitionfabric.launchrock.com/

alternative whitepaper link:  https://gum.co/wxLP

Here is the short version that is free:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f6Wm6RCSSqRpsJdZTwMsbfkuBlEP1V3QespPn1Dvpn8/edit?usp=sharing

Short summary

To summarize:

1. Deep Learning models are stored on IPFS to be executed by a DL VM.
2. Training data can optionally be stored on IPFS so models can be recreated
3. Users can use the models on IPFS to run locally or use a cloud provider
4. User's data used for inference are therefore private.
5. Trainers contribute new models by deriving from existing models.
6. Trainers are compensated for their models using Tokens.
7. Users access the network using Tokens.
8. Bounties will be available to encourage developers to create the latest SOTA (state-of-the-art) models. Compute resources will also be made available to developers.
9. There are other roles such as Curators and Auditors that participate to improve the network.

The idea is to build a democratized Deep Learning system that anyone with Tokens have access to perform their daily activities while preserving their privacy. So for example:

(1) Automatically reading email and replying.
(2) Automatically categorizing own personal data.
(3) Advanced searching of confidential data.
(4) Conversion of confidential unstructured data into knowledge bases.
(5) Reducing information overload.
(6) Running prediction algorithms that watch markets.

The list can be very big. The main idea is to allow 'frictionless' access to these capabilities while still preserving one's own privacy.  So think of having an 'app store' of Deep Learning applications that you can make use of with your email reader or similar apps.

I hope that clarifies things for folks who have not read the whitepaper.

I agree with comments here.

Hippietech has always been a real pest.

Best strategy is to just put him on ignore.

IXCOIN.CO website for SALE

I'm selling the www.ixcoin.co website.

I really have little bandwidth to keep it up,  so if anyone is interested,  let me know!

Will sell for IXC coins.

Website and domain included in sale.

Man, you're not a believer anymore?

How much?  TIA...

PM me with a bid.

Isn't it strange that iXcoin is now worth more than all these more "popular" alt-coins:

Novacoin - $465,294
Worldcoin
Megacoin
Primecoin
Feathercoin
Anoncoin
Maxcoin
Zetacoin
Digitalcoin
Vertcoin
Devcoin
Mintcoin - $94,427
Bitbar - $10,531
Mincoin - $7,750

Something is definitely very strange about this coin.

Did I miss something?

Zebedee hasn't done even ONE positive thing for this community let alone "flame on".

He gave us all the heads up?  He was always here for us and will be in the future?

Wat?  hahahaaaaa.  I really can't tell if you're just mocking him.

He was dead wrong about everything [except the actual end of mining date, which was a guesstimate and which proved meaningless].
Yes, I remember, that time I showed I knew more about this coin than anyone on this thread, and showed you up to be the gaseous windbag you clearly are.  You wouldn't even bet a bitcoin or two from what I remember, so sure are you of your convictions.

And you can't even donate a few of your shitcoins to that dude.   If I held any I would, but I only hold BTC, and they're only for worthwhile causes.

And so far I've been dead right about the slow death of this coin.  I admit, it's a more agonizing, drawn-out death than I anticipated.  But IXC will go the way of ATC (http://atc.blockr.io/).

There must be something psychologically wrong with you when you keep bashing a coin that is virtually dead.

The crazy thing about iXcoin is that unlike most other dead alt-coins,  it runs as a parasite to the Bitcoin mining network.   It never really is dead so long as the pools support the coin.

BTW, great thankless work by GR, Cinnamon and Ahmed to keep the development going.  I know,  it does take a lot of work and really the only true compensation here is the knowledge you gain working on the internal workings of a coin.   The only unfortunate fact with iXcoin is that the major holders don't see it in their best interest to donate coins for development.  There are parties out there with 100,000's of iXcoin but don't even take the time to donate just a fraction of their holding to improve the coin.   It is just absolutely ridiculous behavior, but that's just how it really is.

I remember reading about BIP30 a while ago so I did a search.   Lots of talk about forking.  Not sure if it's true but we should probably pick a direction (BIP30 or no BIP30) and stick with it to prevent problems.  I'd probably go with whatever Bitcoin does to be consistent and make updates easier.  Frictionless should know if it was enabled in v0.8.6.  He did the update.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=230141.msg5582659#msg5582659
Looking at the 0.8.6 source, BIP 16 and 30 was enabled for 02 Jan 2014 01:07:11 GMT. So we'll have to keep them enabled:

Code:
+    // BIP30 for Ixcoin will go into effect on 2014-01-01 0:00 UTC
+    // date -j -f "%b %d %Y" "Jan 01 2014" "+%s"
+    int64 nBIP30SwitchTime = 1388624831;

+    // BIP16 will be enabled for Ixcoin will go into effect on 2014-01-01 0:00 UTC
+    // date -j -f "%b %d %Y" "Jan 01 2014" "+%s"
+    int64 nBIP16SwitchTime = 1388624831;

I plugged the epoch into http://www.epochconverter.com/ and got the different time to the comments.

Doing some more testing I'm getting blocks rejected due to block times being in the past and future. Not sure what's happening there. This is the patch I used for diff 1 mining on a new chain: http://pastebin.com/QGM4CZWr

Run this with two ixcoin nodes connected to each other, and only each other. An ixcoin.conf like the following:

Code:
rpcuser=abcd
rpcpassword=defg
daemon=0
upnp=0
port=10333
rpcport=10332
irc=0
noirc=1
dnsseed=0
nodnsseed=1
printtoconsole=1

Make sure you use different ports/rpcports for the two. And in the 2nd node add a "addnode=127.0.0.1:10333" or whatever you set the port too, so node 2 connects to node1.

@mmpool:

I'm curious did you see this same issue when you upgraded your pool from v0.3.24 to v0.8.6?  It should have occurred then too, right?

BIP30 is for preventing duplicate transactions so I assume it wouldn't be an issue with every single block generated.  Are you seeing 'tried to overwrite transaction' errors on every block?

Also, I believe the majority of pool hasing power for iXcoin is still using v0.3.24.  How do we get the rest of the pools migrated to v0.8.6 or v0.9.x without causing a fork?  The start date in v0.8.6 is already in the past.  Or is this even a fork issue?

Because the 0.8.6 client was NEVER deployed,  the effective dates don't apply.

For a 0.9.x client that will be deployed,  use a data that is in the future.

154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 25, 2015, 11:21:59 AM

One month ago I wrote to Thomas about things needed to be done. One of the things is the lack of a real, clear and credible purpose for iXcoin. Many times it has been connected to this ideas like:
- "parallel" cheaper blockchain
- good for remittance
- advantages of being completely mined (?)

Thomas agreed on the need to define a mission statement and put it on ixcoin.org

Can we do it? In other words, if we don't have well defined the purpose of iXcoin, how can we expect people have it clear in mind?

Bounties maybe?
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 16, 2015, 06:08:58 PM
22? Did they grow overnight? Lol
They are not dollars. We cannot 'print' a million of fake iXcoin.
To be precise: 20,999,906 theorical iXcoin, if we count in even the lost ones.
If you would buy 30k ixc now in one shot, you'd probably double the price.
Odd indeed.

21 million, I stand corrected.  Probably less than that considering all the lost wallets and hacked exchanges over the past several years.

Just on my gut observations, it appears that less than one million IXC has been traded over the exchanges over the past year or so.

There must be only very few major holders left, probably this would include CEX.IO and Thomas.

There's of course Vlad who accumulated like maybe 400,000 - 600,000 IXC.  There's that guy over at ixco.in who probably bought around 350,000 last year.

It's hard to get rich on this unless you have the balls to buy out all the available IXC on sale and invest heavily on development and getting this deployed in CEX.IO      It's a good coin, but the speculators have all but abandoned this coin.

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 16, 2015, 04:08:38 PM
So very odd.  With the entire crypto world crashing, I would expect to see folks selling their IXC.

Very odd that I don't see major selling in any of the major IXC exchanges (i.e. CEX.IO, Cryptsy).

22 million IXC coins and you can barely buy 10,000 IXC anywhere!

http://www.coindesk.com/cex-io-halts-cloud-mining-service-due-low-bitcoin-price/

Jeffrey Smith told CoinDesk that operations would resume if the price of bitcoin climbs above $320, calling the move “temporary”.

Smith told CoinDesk:

    “Our decision is based on the fact that we pay for maintenance in [US dollars], and mine bitcoins, and if you do the math – you will see that with the next mining difficulty rise – maintenance costs will be greater than the profit from mining.”

Man.... this is a really brutal bear market!

Well, we will just have to wait and see when CEX.IO will start testing the latest IXC.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 07, 2015, 04:25:47 PM
0.9.3 is COMPLETE. As i stated earlier it has been for some time (In the time since its been done ive even hard forked DGC to V3 from the original V2 code) which shows the time since its been done. If @Frictionless you do plan on doing it. I must insist that you start ASAP. Once v0.10 launches i plan on upgrading straight to it, and any of your counterparty work if not completed will NOT be ported. Which will leave you left with porting counterparty to a 0.10 base.

Ahmed

@Ahmed:  Are you saying a 0.9.x implementation of Counterparty won't work with 0.10.x clients?  Please clarify.

not at all. I'm saying i wont put put a 1/2 backed counterparty implementation into 0.10. It'll have to be fully working when i upgrade ixc to 0.10 or it wont go in at all. (I've already started work on the changes needed)

I'm still not understanding.  I thought Counterparty could be deployed independant from the crypto client software.  Bitcoin actually tried to kill Counterparty by reducing the size of OP_RETURN, but it was deployed regardless.   So it shouldn't require any work on your part (iXcoin client) to get Couterparty working.  Am I missing something?

The OP_RETURN functionality isn't in the old version of IXC that is deployed at GHASH.IO.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 05, 2015, 03:02:20 PM
Does this coin need a foundation? If yes where can we get a new one or at least 50% of a new one?

Just look at Bitcoin foundation for guidance here.  They decided to de-emphasize lobbying in favor of development.

At this stage of IXC, really what you need is a group of committed developers who can move the technology forward.

That starts with having some consistent ability to upgrade the mining pools that control IXC.

So people like Cinnamon, Ahmed, GroundRod, yourself and  perhaps HashEngineering and others that for some reason have been avoiding Vlad?

From the pragmatic standpoint, we have to be able to upgrade the core of the network in a consistent schedule.

That is all we need to ask of CEX.IO.   Please allow us to upgrade the network so that IXC can be of higher value for everyone else.

BTW, can anyone investigate to see whether Devcoin or Namecoin are able to upgrade their networks?
