I'm going to bed - if at any point sense befalls burnside or swede, and the sensible thing is done, please make sure you give everyone a good 18-20 hours. We aren't all american.

your first smart move today.
142  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 09:54:55 PM
Its a little disconcerting to see how flippant burnside is about $2mil of investment....

The right thing to do would be to re-open bidding for 24 hours - we only lose a single day and EVERYONE gets an ACTUALLY fair opportunity to invest.

We don't want this - for sure a whale would come in and dilute everyone's share to <1%..then hold their own auction style ipo...

*YOU* don't want this....

Fair, I would assume most though

please stop it already, its over.

20435 shares remaining as a result of rounding. what will be their future?
147  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 09:44:32 PM
how many hours till we unlock? ive confused myself with the time differences now!

8pm cst? est? utc? aud? gbp? wtf?

he said soon so i imagine within 1-2 hrs

according to the original post, and taking this CST-CDT thing into consideration, if we assume they mixed them up the time they announced the opening of trading, it is 3 hours 15 minutes from this post.

AM found one!! Grin What's that, like several hours.

Oh, the good ol days.....

You're talking about blocks?
They've found more today, but just not with the ASICMINER tag. Wink

https://blockchain.info/blocks/82.1.136.194

This IP found a block for example, and added it to the address of ASICMINER.

https://blockchain.info/block-index/402738/0000000000000047c930af80cfbc3979d1f97778049d62599113880a76622297

Does anyone know why Friedcat isn't tagging them?

Perhaps he's testing blades that he will be shipping out? Or a bug...?

<conspiracy>

Conspiracy alert!

 maybe he is generating profit, but he does not want to show it, as that would mean he has to include it in the div.

</conspiracy>

I know you're kidding, but the reason we are even discussing this is because Smiguel pointed out that the mining reward was sent to the main ASICMiner bitcoin address... so, those bitcoins were included in our divs.

So instead of hiding profit and not including it in the divs, he's hiding profit to artificially boost divs? That sly dogcat!

<off>

But this seriously made me think about this whole conspiracy concept. Not specifically speaking about FC, but about the whole BTC mining industry. CEOs of these securities could easily - like the way stated above - hide their profits and cut off a little bit from every div. I never tought of this before..surely a great opportunity to scam the investors.

</off>

Either way, an official update would be nice, also, I am eager to see the div boost after the blades start selling  Smiley

The amount of cheap shares on BTCT and Bitfunder right now because of the LabCoin IPO is ridiculous.

ActM is up on Bitfunder, recovering from the recent waves.

Wrong thread?

no, I just said that not every security is still down.  Wink

What a ride. I have to hand it to burnside and the_swede, I think you guys made the right decision. It's not perfect and a bunch of people will be unhappy, but it was probably the fairest decision given the circumstances.

So now that this is done, see you in the post-IPO orderbook battlefield Cheesy

(And don't forget the other cryptostocks as well, I've heard some guys left cheap shares lying around)

+1. Enough with the complaints - the IPO is over. There are never going to be solutions in which demand is higher than supply where everyone is going to be pleased. As far as I'm concerned, the process was handled fairly and professionally. As a suggestion, if you feel that things didn't go smoothly and want the next issuance to be more successful, start a new thread with improvement requests for BTCT. Be professional, be a part of the community and be a part of the solution rather than the problem.

You think it was handled fairly because you were able to get shares while others weren't.... right. ok.

How could you consider it fair when BTCT was unable to process deposits for the several hours of the IPO. Lots of people don't like to leave large amounts of BTC sitting up on a site that is admittedly in "beta" like BTCT. You'd think 3 hours would be enough time in the BTC world to purchase shares, expecially since the IPO itself was not announced that long ago.

I had over 11 BTC that didn't show up because of the glitch.

I had 250 BTC not show up!

God bless, that would have been half a million shares.

Just to make matters worse, this IPO caused a ridiculous crash of ASICMiner.

So not only did I miss out on a great opportunity, I lost a ton of money too.

I'm down a few grand. If I had 10x as many shares in Asicminer I'd probably have punched a wall for not selling out before the crash.

Only because I think that the speculation in ASICMINER share price drop probably is wrong I will point out that there have been several thread on bitcointalk, reddit and elsewhere reporting that share holders are dissatisfied with the latest dividend payment. I doubt a single IPO of 7k BTC could really affect a security of ASICMINER's value (100x+ current LABCOIN Ipo value if I am not mistaken)

You made the IPO to lower the price of Asicminer so you can buy them at cheap price /conspiracy

using the BTC collected during the IPO

he is just pure genius.  Grin

I placed a bid at this time:   2013-07-31 21:00:12

Am I still In or 12 Seconds to late?

Could someone answer, please... :-)

What do you think?

if the deadline was strict, then yes, late, if not, and the deadline was the time when the asset was frozen, then no, you are not late.

only TheSwede75 and Burnside know the correct answer, and they are probably really busy right now. patience, we all will get to know everything soon.

ofc this was done by burnside. suuuuure.

what's that supposed to mean? I'm simply stating that this works

I made 2 TX; 15 min after each other, one cleared after 30min- the next was still not visible after 3hrs
following this instructions to make withdrawal of 0.001- pending amount is instantly visible

sorry I did not sent that to you specifically, but to those whining about this "scam"
