how do you survive in this bear trend with mining? I admire your goals and long term efforts and one day I hope to have your dreams, But how do you survive this winter storm?
I guess he is not selling any coin he is mining right now and the money he has, he is using to pay the bills as he goes, mining was profitable, last year was 100 days to get your money back, so he might be at loss today but last year he was up, so there is a balance there, fat cows last year, slim cows this year and hopefully fat cows next year, this is called planning cause everybody knows fat cows will lose weight and then regain it back and will lose again. That is how life is in general, ups and downs, need to be strong when cows are slim and wise when cows are fat. I wish more people had this understanding. I can't wrap my mind around how some people just can't look at a longer term picture and only look at daily fiat profits. I can't say it enough ... If you're cashing out into fiat on a regular basis, mining isn't for you. Maybe it will work out in the end, maybe it won't. You don't get ahead in any business without taking risks.

digital drug lord and Metroid are the only realist type of people here. They see the mining landscape for how it is and they don't sugar coat it. They are respectable community members
All you other miners are idiotic thinking mining is still profitable without accounting for the real cost that comes with the territory
I got rekt with obelisk not shipping drc miners yet, i got rekt by bitmain x3 & L3+ , i got rekt by sp_mod shitcoin software miner mining signatum, i got rekt by antpool hash rate marketplace hash rate dump,, I even got rekt by nvidia by not even being able to ROI my 1080 ti, 1070 ti yet and I even bought them early on release date, I got rekt by the irs and California 28 cent electric cost. I got rekt by everyone.
I capitulate and I am done. Getting rid of my 31 nvidia gpu farm, gonna dump my gpus on dummies like Gotminer that drank to much of that mining koolaid
Yeah, you capitulate and you're done. Holding way less than you started with. Sell me your bags cheap Please do sell me those gpu's at a penny on the dollar too ... The only idiots who are mining are the ones who think they can make it without a long term agenda. Digital Drug Lord would be one of those guys. He used to bitch about how much he was getting daily in fiat. No No No ... Sorry Princess ... HAND SLAP FOR YOU! If you need to calculate what you make on a daily basis in fiat, NEWS FLASH! Mining/trading crypto isn't for you. You will be much better off, when you realize that you will not become a rich man overnight, just because you want to mine with that puter that your mommy bought you for Christmas. Hit me up in a few years and we'll compare portfolio's ... Lol. I'll make a note of it and contact you, in case you forget.

Do you know the reason as to why it stopped working? Did you provide proper cooling? Do you have a warranty?
If the card just stop working, and you used it in a way that it did not affect the warranty, then get your money back.
Just don't tell them you were mining, but even if you did, the cards are designed to work at full force 24/7. So you should be good.
If you would have read his previous posts, you wouldn't have even taken the time to give him any advice.

Is this Metroid's autistic cousin? Gotta be related. I've been thinking the same thing for awhile.

Well I am going to assume that since he started a thread like this, he can't RMA the card.
Most likely he bought it second hand where the warranty is non-trasferable.
Or maybe he disassembled the GPU and took off the screw tamper stickers and voided the warranty.
Or he bought an old GPU like an R9 290 which have warranty that expired years ago.
Don't assume anything when responding to a thread that was initiated by Digital Drug Lord ... Lol. He's been around ... He's known for his bitch fits about gpu mining. Haven't seen him post lately ... Several months ago (if memory serves me correctly), he bought the most expensive water cooled 1080ti package that he could have possibly purchased, against my advice ... and others ... Who knows with this dude. Could be someone else that we know on this forum posing as a newbie. If not, I do feel sorry for him. I've never come across someone who thinks so shortsightedly and never comes to the realization of the bigger picture.

I can't believe I was going to waste more money on more video cards
The little guy can't compete with all the farms out there these days anyway
What's the point of wasting video card life for chump change
Really, you again? If your gpu died, RMA it.

I paid about 14 cents to send 5300USD a week ago. 0.0024528301886792454%. The issue is speed. It took 45 minutes.

Yeah, it's good to see Raven on Cryptopia. I like what CryptoBridge is trying to do, but they have had their ups and downs implementing it, so it's definitely nice to see RVN on another, larger (relatively speaking) exchange that's established already.
I'll be reluctant to sell my rvn unless the btc pairing is in the upper 800 sats.

Smart people are buying coins right now, buying bits by bits cause they dont want this downtrend to end, this is the best time to buy because once it starts rising again it goes 20x - 100x of what is now. As for mining, anybody buying hardware will end up losing a lot of money if they mine and sell now, if they hold maybe it can be good, in 2014 ltc crashed from $50 to $1 and whoever bought those ltc for $1 at that time made a huge profit, times like this is the best time to buy coins and hold for 2 years or so.
There are very few coins that I would buy and hold for 2 plus years other than BTC. There are plenty of shitcoins to buy, wait/hope for a pump, and trade for BTC though. There have been plenty of opportunities to buy BTC at a low this year, if you have the cash to do it. Will you have another opportunity to buy lower than 5k this year ... Maybe. As for mining, the way I look at gpu mining has drastically changed from the point at which I started last fall. Back then, I was thinking "how much will I risk holding in btc". As a few months went by, I realized that was a dumb question. The answer is "all of it". If you have gpu's that haven't paid for themselves (and most, if not all that were purchased last fall probably have not), there really is no other way than to mine ... try to sell your mined coins for btc at a time when the btc pairing is at a high, and continue to hold in btc if/when next bull run ... In addition to paying for the electricity out of your own pocket. Some may disagree with that, but it seems like the best option to me. Some may not have the means to pay for electricity out of their own pocket without selling mined coins, but all they are doing is prolonging the time it takes to pay yourself back for the investment in mining hardware. All things considered, I don't regret buying gpu's last fall. But I do have a longer term outlook as opposed to someone who is focused on daily profits in fiat. I'm also happy that I've split my time/funds between mining and trading. Trading has certainly helped me in obtaining more btc.

I've made a small fortune so I don't know what you are talking about...you are not mining right if you are losing money or making only a dollar a day on it. Come look what Hash-kings has done... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4800698.new#newIf you want to make money, it takes a lot of effort...but alt currencies are alive and well if you know what you are doing Lol.

Just a heads up for those who have problem with raven and criptobridge-raven will be listed on cryptopia tomorrow(deposit/witdrawals are already working)not really sure if they are any better then cb but just a heads up
Nice!!! Didn't see that one coming this soon. It's about time! In any case RVN has seen its price rise quite nicely as a result lately. I had actually mined over 20'000 of these coins in 5 days not long after its release back in feb. Waited a few weeks and sold'em. Made $500. Good five days of mining for a 5x1080 rig that was. Been accumulating a few thousand coins every now and then. It's like a safe bet to get back to when you're bored of Nicehash or ETH... I've been mining it with 25 gpu's since mid April. Very curious to see what this exchange listing does for the btc pairing.

I'd say it's pretty unsafe, especially with current market, you could lose a ton of money, provided that they don't scam you in the first place. A good rule for crypto is: do it yourself.
You wouldn't know your ass from your face, but at least you know to not invest in cloud mining. Good for you. Tell us something we don't fucking know.

I am holding 5200 rvn. Which is somewhat like 100 usd.
Maybe I should mine some more.
I've been mining RVN for about 3.5 months with 25 gpus ... Mostly 1070ti's, a rig of 1080ti's, and a mixed rig. Last night (07-29) the difficulty jumped way up. I switched back to mining ETC tonight. RVN/BTC pair is way up today, but not enough for me to make the trade or continue mining it. I was mining it when it went through it's last peak in the high 500 sats. I'm just going to hold on to what I have and see what happens. Not sure what will happen to the price of ETC once it lands on CoinBase, but I'm done mining RVN at it's current difficulty level.

The battle for top 10 is going to remain intense and many coins are going to be popping in and out. NEO may be one of those and should be in top 10 or 20 coins.
Probably not.
