141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are girls using Bitcoins? on: July 13, 2014, 12:20:55 AM
I think it wont be long until we have a nice diverse mix of genders using the currency. Im sure there are plenty of girls using it now but im sure the ratio is no where near that of males at the moment.
142  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Lowest Difficulty increase in a while! on: July 12, 2014, 11:32:13 PM
I think the next few terms will be much higher increases and will ultimately average out. I could be wrong but thats what I figure will happen. Anyone that bought cloud mining in the past few weeks should be pretty happy right now though.

144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to convert PayPal to Bitcoin on: July 12, 2014, 08:27:03 PM
I have bought coin on LBC with Western union. I have never seen anyone accept paypal. I don't think it would be the smartest move for the seller and I personally would never except paypal for btc. I just could not justify the risk for me. To be honest even sellers that accept moneypak on lbc are taking a risk as i bet there is a way for them to lose with that as well.
145  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: July 12, 2014, 06:07:09 PM
I made my first purchase on cryptothrift today. Everything went smooth but the site itself does look like crap. I think with a bit of promotion maybe a sig campiagn and a site makeover, they could be doing much better.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin wallets be trusted? on: July 12, 2014, 05:44:54 PM
It is probably a good idea to check the md5 hash for wallets. Even then if the site itself were to be compromised the attacker could just change that as well. I think it is a serious concern though.  hilariousandco suggestion might be the safest bet. I started off dealing with extremely small amounts so it wasn't a huge concern at the time for me.
147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pls Donate to me btc because... on: July 12, 2014, 05:37:54 PM
I seriously doubt anyone is going to just give you bitcoin but I wish you luck in your panhandling endeavors.  I think with a bit of research you could start to generate your own bitcoin with little to no investment. How about selling some of your stuff to get some btc?

149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Craigslist on: July 12, 2014, 05:15:04 PM
I often search bitcoin on craigslist but what I find is insane prices of miners. People selling miners for exactly what they paid 5+ months ago. Or sometimes someone selling btc for 30% above preev. To date I have not found anything that I didn't laugh at.

Which wallet are you using? This might help us get you a link
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inside dark wallet on: July 12, 2014, 06:55:58 AM
That took me a while to get read it al but it was worth the read. I don't necessarily agree with all of their thinking but they have ideas I do understand the end goal. I don't think I am in need of that much stealth for what I do.
153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help me set up a merchant on: July 12, 2014, 04:54:25 AM
Until now I would have recommended localbitcoins which imo does get expensive with western union charges but coinvoice seems to be exactly what you need. I honestly never knew it existed. I am glad I read this thread...bookmarked Smiley
154  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Am I crazy to verify identity with cryptsy? Social Security #? Driver's license? on: July 12, 2014, 04:48:37 AM
So is ssn required or not for usd deposit?

Clear this up for me.
This is the entire process listed below..... So no you do not submit your SSN#

Respectfully I disagree. Once you select the US it then shows an area for the state. Once you select a state it then shows the area for the SS#

155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 12, 2014, 04:22:27 AM
I bought into this a few days ago. I only bought 100 GH/s because I have this feeling that I wont really make anything on it. In fact I would be happy to see just break even in 5yrs. It all depends on the difficulty not increasing drastically I think. This term it doesn't look like it is predicted to be a big increase so I shouldn't see a big drop per day. If we get a few terms with bog increases I may not have any chance to ever make it back. Either way it will be an experience that I will learn from one way or the other.
This is the problem with buying such a long term investment in cloud mining or any type of mining for that matter. As it is now the difficulty is doubling roughly every two months, in other words your expected revenue is going to half every two months (assuming that your provider does not charge any kind of ongoing maintenance fee, if it does then your drop will be more every two months). The later part of your contract will see very few results.
My thinking was with the .3btc i spent on this contract... What could I have bought really to get into mining with such little funds. I mean, for me to buy a miner doing 100gh/s would cost me more then .3btc. I will still only get 100gh/s so all I am losing is the paper weight after it costs more to run then it can get mine in coin, which I imagine wont be long. Like I said it is more of an experiment for me. I will not be reinvesting along the run I am just curious if it will eventually give any roi at all.

How often are you all backing up your wallet.dat files? Not how long as in time but how many transactions I should say? I am using electrum for my btc but I use qt for some alt coins.

Can you PM me what exactly you are looking for? I might be able to find it as long as it is within reason.

I can't even imagine what that feels like. I wish you luck man.
159  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ANX launches world's first Bitcoin Debit Card powered by an exchange on: July 11, 2014, 07:11:31 AM
2.5% seems a bit high but when you think about what an exchange takes off the top I guess its not terrible. It will be interesting to watch it either succeed or flop, from a distance of course Smiley
160  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Win Free Bitcoins Each Hour at CoinLearn.org on: July 11, 2014, 06:33:04 AM
I gave it a shot and read thru in just a couple minutes. I didn't realize that I had to waste a whole hour on the questions. I will try and just leave the tab open and see how that goes.
