141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Etheruem Smart Contract Really Smart? on: July 08, 2020, 02:59:00 PM
Well, to me contract is the crux of the judicial system because legal case always involves to or more parties.

Contract is an agreement between two parties. For example , Kelvin agree to sell a house to Lydia @ $1000. That is traditional contract which is validated by a written agreement.

Smart contract is a technology that seek to remove the middle man(lawyers) from contract construction and execution and make computer to perform the function.

The key feature of a smart contract is trustless execution. That means, both parties of a contract are not trusted until they fulfill certain conditions.

Here is how this thread will go...

1. Is Etheruem smart contract really smart in reality and not in theory?

2. Who handle the execution of the smart contract ?

3. How does Centralized system or decentralized system affects the key feature of smart contract which is 'TRUSTLESS EXECUTION'?
If you talk about in software, programming or coding sense then these are good enough smart contracts and you can build even more dapps and softwares on top of it using the infrastructure provided by eth network.
Regarding real world uses or like in your example a real estate deed, more work is going on and a lot of new modules are under development even new forms of erc tokens to offer more services to even physical businesses and markets.
And also independent developers are working to develop such solutions on top of ethereum for example, in real estate sector you can study propy or atlant they are developing something that will answer you precisely.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Overview on DeFi - a new hot trend in crypto on: July 07, 2020, 07:57:08 PM
DeFi is a really dominating trend in the market right now i was holding some synthetix tokens too from the ico and regret selling them at around $1 each and now price has already pumped around $2.50 per snx and seems like bulls are still in control.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is no ROI if the crypto is a stablecoin on: July 07, 2020, 04:33:00 PM
I have noticed that there are many people here who do not understand that many cryptocurrencies are stablecoins. Stablecoin means that its price is designed to be as stable as possible. That means there will be no ROI from buying bunch of stablecoins. Coins with very large or infinite max supply are very likely designed to be stablecoins because that way they can stabilize the price by emitting more coins when the coin scales rapidly. Just like they do with FIAT to keep the exchange rate stable.
Most likely stablecoins are backed by a stable asset like fiat what you are referring to are crypto coins that are stable in value always, well, can you give examples of such live coins because i do not recall any such coin.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What PayPal's Entry Into Crypto Means For Users on: July 07, 2020, 01:49:44 PM
What PayPal's Entry Into Crypto Means For Users

PayPal will soon allow its estimated 325 million users to buy and sell a variety of cryptocurrencies directly on the platform.

If this plan comes to fruition, PayPal will become the largest traditional finance company to expand directly into the cryptocurrency space, marking a significant step towards bridging the gap between the traditional and digital economies.

https://cryptodaily.co.uk/2020/07/what-paypals-entry-into-crypto-means-for-users

Obviously the impact will be positive as they will introduce millions of people to crypto and crypto buying, selling and spending will become a whole lot easier also we will see confidence growing in crypto from the masses all these factors will make crypto bigger than ever and i think good times are coming for the market.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forsage could be the reason why Ethereum gas fees are ridiculously high! on: July 06, 2020, 10:51:24 AM
Source: https://decrypt.co/34640/philippines-sec-just-denounced-the-top-ethereum-dapp-as-a-ponzi

Earlier, I had a thread about Bancor's ridiculous high fees when swapping token to Ethereum. Normally, it's just around 0.005 ETH as cost to convert. The customer service even said that I should have at least 0.02 ETH as safe haven because of the network congestion. But when I converted those tokens to Ethereum, I was forced to pay ridiculously high $5 to $6 in gas fees!

As I have read this news from DeCrypt, Forsage might be the reason behind it. They might be the top Dapp right now according to DappStats because of the heavy influx of users in a span of 24 hours, and hogged 13% of it's entire network for the past 24 hours and accounts 25% of the Ethereum blockchain's network activity.

It's just sad that they can't be stopped even if the main website will be taken down according to Ethereum researcher and developer himself Philippe Castonguay. No government or SEC can stop it, unless there are some possible vulnerabilities within the Ethereum network.

CoinTelegraph also exposed Forsage scam here: https://cointelegraph.com/news/philippine-sec-warns-against-crypto-schemes

There's a scam accusation thread from BIT-BENDER about Forsage too and I actively responded there with some sources I have provided as reference.

If this continues, there might be possible scenarios in my opinion such as:

1. People losing interest on Ethereum due to high gas fees and network congestion being caused by Forsage and other ponzi schemes operating via "smart contract".
2. They might possibly dump or sell ETH and move on to other coins such as Stellar Lumens, TRX, NEO, XTZ, etc.
3. Cryptocurrency startups (especially ICOs, IEOs, STOs and other crowdfunding projects) might not be using Ethereum blockchain anymore to begin their campaigns.
4. Blockchain games and other Dapps who are running on the Ethereum network might considering a move to the other blockchains.
5. Uneducated or misinformed people who relied more on media than doing their own research or consulting to the experts might generally tag Ethereum as "scam".

Ain't sure if these ponzi schemes using the Ethereum blockchain are gonna affect Ethereum 2.0? And what would happen to ETH in the future if these schemes continue to hog the Ethereum network and make us pay ridiculously high gas fees? What are your thoughts, opinions or reactions to this one guys?
It is obvious that it is an mlm based ponzi scheme where you have to refer more users to make more money and once the influx of new users and new money will stop this project will be over, I hope people realize this and stay away from this, at the moment all i see is people posting the screen shot of money they are making from this ponzi which is not a great thing to see.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COMP and pump and dump? on: July 06, 2020, 09:33:56 AM
The hype around the COMP token was real, skyrocketing the prize to insane hights. Now the hype seems to flatten out and the chart shows a 50% decrease of the ATH at this point. Certainly, itīs still high compared to its initial price. What do you guys think? Here an article with a summary: https://cryptoslate.com/defis-compound-comp-has-crashed-50-in-two-weeks-and-it-may-drop-further/   Is i really poised to collapse?

It really pump too quickly i guess, if it had moved along creating support, resistance and accumulation levels then surely it would have been considered real organic growth but yes due to extreme hype and fomo it just gone up like a straight line and such price increases have to face reversal or big corrections, although it is going down but i hopeit will find support in coming days and consolidate there as supply is low we can expect comp price to stay in decent range also depends on actual demand and use of their platform.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting back in the coin game on: July 01, 2020, 06:34:10 PM
Greetings all

So I have been on a hiatus from the whole crypto game for +3years (Other real life obligations, market crashing without me getting out, etc).
However it seems to be more relevant than ever to come back, especially after this whole Corona business and the money printers going wild. I think
an alternative is more relevant than ever.

It's obviously basically a full time job to keep up with this market.

So for now my Portfolio is doing alright, but what big news/adoption cycle stuff did i miss?

Is Hardware wallet + Google auth still sufficent for security?

I hear that you can make passive income staking via this new Defi thing - Anything more i should know there?

What is the new hot coin to hodl?

Any help is much appreciated in advance.
Yes you need authy etc to secure yourself, the more the better. Regarding Defi projects or staking i do not think they are giving back good returns i know real businesses generate low profits but still the profit needs to be consistent and regular, also you take the risk because none of these platforms is registered with any financial authority.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just because it's called a shitcoin doesn't mean it really is on: July 01, 2020, 05:10:07 PM
I've got a news to share about shitcoins, the moment the coins that people are holding aren't surging when they want they will start calling such coins shitcoins, many called electroneum and apollo currency shitcoins last year but this year the coins start showing good signs, you don't have to make your money from Bitcoin or popular coins, you can make money from not so popular projects too, remember HEX? Haha I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about.
Basically community members name realtively new, undeveloped or low value projects as shitcoins while with time it can change and from shitcoins the project can develop into a pro level high quality practical platform there are many examples of such projects, you can look into snx and swissborg that were looked with suspicion at the start but now they have successful products and ecosystem.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi - ETH Financial Ecosystem (September 2019) on: June 30, 2020, 10:40:02 PM
As a member has rightly analysed based on the chart that all these defi based projects seem to be at a peak of hype and also value so better to not get into fomo now and wait for a good correction from here and even if you want to buy and hild these tokens you can buy at a better price hopefully, if you can wait a little more buying now at high prices may not be a wise thing to do.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most difficult use cases to trust in crypto space today on: June 30, 2020, 10:11:54 PM
Here are two most difficult use cases to trust in crypto space today

1. Real Estate crypto projects

Scammers are the main reason why these use cases are hard to trust because it's easier for anyone to use this usecase to fool investors by stealing fake estates, houses and building pictures to deceive people

2. Gold backed crypto projects

This is even more popular today than real estate projects, honestly if this use case are real imagine how many regulations this will need to proof to the world that an actual crypto project is backed by gold form a real gold company

The truth is this use cases requires good proof to investors before they can actually belief that the projects are real, many have lost money to fake real estate projects and fake tokens claimed to be backed by real gold
You are absolutely on point and that is why it is very important for us to thoroughly investigate each project before investing or promoting, i personally like real estate based projects and some of my friends like gold backed projects but we have to closely watch them and chose only the legit ones or else we risk losing our money.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Volatility is good but... on: June 24, 2020, 07:21:04 PM
Crypto volaitility is great for day and active traders especially who like to trade on the basis of charts, candlestick patterns, technical analysis and price action. Volatility helps the price action traders to make better trading decisions and hence they can derive more profit due to volatility.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be some kind of Ethics Counsel for Altcoins? on: June 24, 2020, 06:38:23 PM
There is a new coin that just called itself Compound Coin but as probably many of you know, there has been an active coin named Compound Coin for five or more years.  They both have the same symbol.

The old Compound coin has an active community.

What can we do about people just coming in and stealing coin's intellectual property?

Websites have a system, I think we need a system, at least with heavyweights like Charlie Lee, etc. and various bloggers picketing the new thieving coin.
One solution could be that already existing coin data and stats platforms like cmc or coingecko start offering this validation service where the project owners and developers when coming up with a new project can check the new name for uniqueness as compared to all other coins available in the market same can be done for symbol as well as other metrics like supply and price etc, it will not only make sure uniqueness but will also help new projects to calculate their supply and relevant ico price for their token.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prove that Crypto mass adoption is getting in place on: June 24, 2020, 06:03:34 PM
Do not rely on this, it's just a news that could or could not happen, Yesterday news broke regarding the strong possibility that PayPal and Venmo, the two notable fintech companies are both moving to add direct crypto and Bitcoin trading capabilities to their users, what do you think will happen if this comes true??? I like the fact that this is happening and DeFi projects are doing their thing too
Yeah this will have amazingly positive effect to adoption because these platforms have millions of active users present globally also the trust level in crypto coins will improve and perception of them being fake money among masses will fade away, so definitely looking forward to it and i am sure crypto market will get a good leap with it and we will see adoption in coming years.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Success rate of hodling among top 50 alts. on: June 23, 2020, 08:51:38 PM
Looking at the chart of altcoin market, it is clearly seen that every alts now are at its lowest level and are preparing for the next alt season. Which indicates long accumulations if not yet...

How about hodling any coins from ETH, to any alts until Top 50, except, for those alts which did not passed top 50 market caps - cause normally they are literally pump and dump. So by hodling, I think for about 5 years from now. I think, I think..., it may definitely change your life, for the better, if not I highly doubted. Well  if you hodl at least 20 alts, some might loss but most of it might gain profits. If only you are not too attached on the fiats, maybe you will hodl it by more than 5 years.

Someone agreed?
5 years is a lot of time, you are literally asking people to hodl till next bull run, under the current market scenario holding good alts for 2 years will be enough to benefit from the next big bull run if the market repeats the same cycle like we saw in 2017-18.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spyce Price Conditions before and After Distribution on: June 23, 2020, 05:03:43 PM

This is the case that I found today on bw.com exchange, but in this case I also do not fully blame the bounty participants, because I myself also included as a participant in the Spyce campaign, but what I wonder why is that when the distribution is finished the price drops right away ? and things like this don't only happen to Spyce tokens, but some other tokens also experience almost the same thing, does anyone know what the main cause is ?

I always suggest hunters not to rush but sadly most of hunters still rush to sell as soon as they receive the reward tokens they do not even care about the price which is really unbelievable, if the project is of good quality there is no point selling for pennies, just give enough chance to the team to come up with quality product and definitely you can make good profit then with price gains of multiple times.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE NEXT ETH?? on: June 17, 2020, 07:13:16 PM
I often hear people comparing their alt bags to the next eth, or this reminds me of antshares back in the day type of comments. It is usually someone trying to convince you to buy their bags. ETH, Monero ect were kind of unicorns in the way they blew up and went on insane runs in value. I am not so convinced the alts today are going to become the next ETH as people say. The alts I hear constantly are the next ETH are LINK,TEZOS  ect but I dont see it. ETH has the adoption you can build ERC20 coins on it, and it is widely used, but what am I going to do with my Link token?? stake it? If tezos can get the adoption then that would make more sense to me. My main point here is don't fall for the my alt coin is the next ETH! Sure there will be others that will be unicorns and you may get lucky, but out of the thousands of alts out there your likely going to be holding the next coin that goes to zero instead of the next ETH. Give me ONE coin that you believe could be the next unicorn. Keep in mind that most alts are just copies of BTC,ETH,MONERO!!! Maybe we can find a real unicorn here?? If you are going to schill me your alt coin please limit it to ONE alt only!!! If this comes off as negative that's not my intention I'm just tired of hearing the term the next ETH I would love to invest in the next unicorn but I just don't see anything out there comparable right now.
I think projects who use such statements are never confident about their own product and brand that is why they use the brand name of big coins to market there project and it simply shows immature behavior from the team and personally i simply skip such projects who try to be oversmart and try to confuse people by using such statements.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most searched cryptocurrencies on Google on: June 17, 2020, 06:26:22 PM
Hello, according to the website: blockchaincenter.net, these cryptocurrencies are most searched among cryptocurrencies:
1.  Bitcoin (80,8%)
2. Ethereum (14%)
3. XRP (8%) followed by Litecoin (4,7%), Bitcoin Cash (2,7%), IOTA (2,5%), Monero (2,1%), Tron (1,8%), Dogecoin (1,8%) and Cardano (1,5%).

They processed information based on Google Trends.

When you compare it with the market cap, then where is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision, EOS or Binance Coin?  Shocked

These search trends are always expected as i think they corelate with the volume of the coin as well. In other words we can say that search results and trends indicate the interest in a coin that is expressed via trading these coins resulting in matching volumes.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Biggest Crypto Regret? on: June 16, 2020, 11:11:27 PM
Many people regret that they did not buy BTC while they first knew about it. For some, they did not sell BTC while they could. Roll Eyes

For me, I got MWC & HEX for free from airdrop to BTC HODLers, but dumped them before they peak. I could easily make 10x of my existing BTC, if I held them strong. Cry

What is your Biggest Crypto Regret?
My biggest regret is not saving my bitcoins when i had plenty of them years ago when each btc price was around 200-250, I confess that at that time i thought it cannot grow more than this so i used all my bitcoins either in useless online investments or cashed out some for personal use but if i had all of them now my financial condition would have been really good.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 10 alts under $0.10 that can go 100x on: June 16, 2020, 09:59:36 PM
So I'm looking to round out my portfolio on about 10 crypto projects that are all under $0.10 right now and have the potential for going 100x by either doing so in the past or has great potential to do so again when the next bull market hits.

So far in my portfolio:

Unibright (UBT)
PolyMath (POLY)
Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR)
Enjin (ENJ)
Singularity (AGI)

I was considering adding WanChain, but I could take it or leave it.  It seems to have really good gains in the past and still is an active project.  But the others are staying in my portfolio.

So I'm looking for about 5 more really strong projects that are currently $0.10 and below with huge potential of 100x.

And GO! lol

Well some people have really got it right, look at the price of synthetix network token SNX it was under 0.10 for quite a long time but now it is trading over 1 and potentially it can grow higher because of demand and platform success.
Another similar project that is aiming for new highs every other day is jarvis reward token (JRT) you can check it was trading for 1 to 2 cents for a long time but recently community has acknowledged its worth and it is trading over 7 cents now and if the moment continues it can git 20 to 25 cents in few months time.
Similarly, Swissborg CHSB has also proved its products worth and now investors are buying this token like crazy ot has already grown multifold in recent months and have just broken the 10 cents resistance.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: June 16, 2020, 09:39:49 PM
altcoins are great for flipping for more btc but dont every marry a coin. When btc goes on a run past all time highs you dont want to be bagholding ALTS. You will watch them get crushed. I personally was bagholding alts from 4k-20K and they got demolished I even had friends saying man you must be doing well with those bitcoins you have Cheesy In the end alts went nuts and I did well but If I would have waited till BTC topped out I would have made more. So moral of the story there is dont marry a coin/project they and watch your btc shrink get in and get out after you make decent profits. Sure sometimes you can buy an alt an maybe 10x-100x on it bagholding, but there is 1000s of coins out there that wont make those type of gains. Anyway do whats best for you but dont be that guy married to a bag watching btc head to 50-100k or whatever the top might be
I have also learned this lesson the hard way, i entered crypto market in 2016-17 and i was doing good and i was targetting only btc and i had accumulated around 10 bitcoins when then came a ico frenzy and i got lured and started investing in every shining ico, i even invested 2 btc in a fb friends mining plan which failed and he refunded me 0.1 btc back only. While other ico investments shrank to around 50x in loss and i now have around 0.5 btc only after so many years. Now again i have decided to stay in btc and eth only and i will try to accumulate them.
