141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 30, 2013, 04:04:56 PM
I am curious how would BTB react to 300MH/s hashing... Would we be able to make some good coin on it?

Could we put it in a try?

142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 30, 2013, 03:32:27 AM

I use 4 x 7950 but here is my CGMiner batch file adjusted for 1 x7950:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.hashco.ws:8888 -u username.1 -p x --intensity 18 --thread-concurrency 22400 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --temp-target 72 --temp-overheat 82 --temp-cutoff 90 --worksize 256

This gives me 570 Kh per card. The 2 important variables here are intensity and thread concurrency, these settings should work fine. You'll notice the "temp-target" is set to 72, this should be fine for a 7950. Note that if you reduce this number to say 60 or 65 your fan's rpm will jump up significantly. I think 72 is a good trade-off. Hope this helps.

Yeah after some pretty troublesome hours, with reading into all of it, setting up 2 setup configs (one for the time, when im on my pc and one for the sleeping/working hours) and a oc profile, i jumped from the 15 kh to ~670kh. And after i finished alll of this (damn, this were 7 troublesome hours procrastinating from my study stuff lol) i just recognized, that it's Kh and not Mh. Is this normal for alt-coining? When I'm on BTC (with the normal settings), im on around 450 Mh/s. This kinda freaked me out, when i noticed that, right as i finished the tuning.

Thanks for the help mate. Smiley

That is slow... I get 645-670KH/sec on my 7950s...
intensity 20
thread-concurrency 40960
shaders 1792
gpu-threads 1
gpu-engine 1080
gpu-memclock 1250
gpu-vddc 1.020,1.01,1.003,1.07
gpu-powertune 0

I use to run my 4 x 7950 in low power mode getting 550kh/sec plus high power mode 7970 to get 715kh/sec total hash @ 2.9gh/s @ total power at wall of 1460 watts (Corsair AX1200i watt PSU) and now I run all boards at high speed with total hash of 3.3gh/sec and @total power at wall of 1250watts.  Saved 210 watts and gained 400kh/sec just by undervolting the gpus.
I had put my Rig in the big Living room now... It is a nice Heater for the whole house.. (cooler up north now) Wife hates it but if I am gonna pay for heating, I want a chance to make some money back.

CSC causing > 50% rejects... Guess the coin is too fast.  May need to Downgrade this coin on the profitability list when the Diff is low but increase when diff is higher.

While we were on WDC, I noticed my miner was sending stale requests (as I prefer to send requests instead of dropping them) and all I saw was about 20-30 lines of sending stale requests... then about 30-40 seconds later, saw a whole bunch of requests getting accepted.  Not sure if this is a network issue or server issue but it was pretty much hung for about 30-40 seconds before any response.

User Ledger needs to be updated.  We should be able to see all transactions transparently.  Need to be able to go back as long as possible not the last 50 or so transactions.

Will try and get to this tonight.

Also have a fix for the minor outages we seem to be hitting once a day or so, just need to code it up.

Actually I like the minor outages... Each time I get hit by one, it falls over to BTB and each time got a hit on it... when Diff is > 2

One thing we need to map is the following:

Need to find the MAX Total Hash rate before ROI starts to drop.  Having more MH/s is not always productive.  This way we can tune the system to hash around that rate and hopefully get more coin out of it.  Additionally, if there is more than this amount, consider a failover to a second pool instead of cramming more in the same one.

btcltc just switch to cmc/col = badnews, heh

There are not enough CMC in existence to trade with. When the client is fixed we should be a candidate for Cryptsy i'm guessing.

I certainly hope so.

double that

I tried CPU mining both XPM and QRK, found that while doing so, even with one or 2 cores left free (6 core processor), I was still way more likely to have my rig completly lock up and have to be rebooted,  had 3 or 4 hard lockups in a day or 2 of trying to mine either cpu coin, had to hit the reset button each time ... doesn't seem to happen when I use the cpu to mine scrypt based coins (can do roughly 40KH/s on scrypt with 5 out of 6 core). Been debating overclocking the cpu for a bit better returns, but would want to upgrade my cooling before I try.

don't bother the hashrate vs power consumption is not worth it.  just let it run along for the ride.  only put it on a varr diff server so that you can mine at low diff rates.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 28, 2013, 07:49:30 AM
Current Hash Rate  Accepted  Rejected  Reject Rate  Est. Daily BTC Earnings
2,835 Kh/s30616.67 %0.16894104
HOPE those estimates stays by the end of day... almost 0.17 BTC/24 hours would be amazing!

0.17 BTC / 3.313gh/sec = 0.05131301 BTC/gh/sec per day would be best payday ever so far.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: September 27, 2013, 12:58:41 PM
Try lowering the diff on your 6990, even try multiple threads on a lower intesity.  Yes you get a slightly lower hashrate (difference on my cards is like 5-10kh/s) but you get less stales and a higher return, at-least that's what I have found anyway.

Thanks for your advise.

However, I do need the high intensity because this rig is also CPU mining XPM.
If I cut intensity below 18 the hashrate skydives, unless I stop the CPU miner.
The 6990 does 950 Kh/s on I 19, with CPU miner enabled it drops to 915.
Any lowering of intensity has a dramatic impact on the hashrate. (I 17 gives 600-650)
So, thats why I'm reluctantly pointing it at a LTC pool. High hashrate, almost no rejects, and my CPU is doing something usefull.

Set CPU Miner to Lowest Priority in Windows or set the NICE value to 10 (using RENICE) for *nix to give your CGMiner higher priority.  This should give you more breathing room.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ColossusCoin/InfiniteCoinV2 Immediate Update to 1.4 on: September 26, 2013, 01:44:23 AM
Is there an option for the colossuscoin.conf to set to only listen to clients who are on the exact same version or higher?
If not, could this option be put in?

I would like to eliminate any lower versions from my listening wallet to avoid old version contamination.

Thanks.

I've tripped over to my backup pools a fair few times today, having some issues?

I hope this stratum becomes stable soon. The pool was down at least 4 times since yesterday, including right now. The last week has had lots of problems as well.

At some point, when you have to use a fail safe so much so often, it's not really a fail safe anymore. It's your main, with this pool getting the leftover scraps when it just happens to actually be up.

I've isolated the problem this morning and made some script tweaks to ensure it shouldn't come back.

I've also made some adjustments to round times.  By default they will be slightly longer (more in the range of 20 minutes), unless a coin is found to be X times more profitable during that period.  We also check for profitability more frequently now, so it may result in a few quicker switches (if a coin is X more profitable), along with some longer round times when profitability of coins is similar.

Is it possible to run a 2nd stratum server?
stratum01.hashco.ws:7777
or
stratum02.hashco.ws:8888

Found a problem.  If there is a wallet with > 500 transactions, it shows nothing.  We should have the choice to see them in chunks of 500 transactions.  Otherwise the Block Explorer is useless for us.

Additionally, it would be nice to be able to search a date RANGE and filter further within the date range for transactions or addresses.

Thanks.

@Swiftshoot -

yeah but that's called "a market" , there are buyers and sellers , if there are more seller than buyers and more volume in this or that direction - the price goes down, ha ha how can you blame the transfer mechanism ha ha ?

seriously .

Before Autosell came into play, the markets were doing great... Since they got implemented, it did the damage needed to the Alt coin market... turning Alt coins into a dumping ground instead of investing into it.

For those who mined over 48 hours straight, could you please post your 24 hour postings using the following calculation:

24 hour BTC total / Your total MH/s = x BTC/MH/s

Thanks.
157  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CraPE v0.3 beta - Boot from USB - Win8 PE Based Mining OS on: September 24, 2013, 08:12:19 PM
Installed V0.3.  Like the cleaner look of it.  However, found a few issues:

  • 7970 cards can't go over 530kh/sec.  This needs to be fixed.
  • Could not use thread concurrency of 40960.  had to use 8192 to make it work for me.  even 20480 did not work.
  • Windows PE is only 32-bit.  Could not run MINERD 64bit SSE4 with Quark code in it.  Could you please make a 64bit version?
  • CGMiner-xtc.conf should contain "auto-gpu" : true, to start up with a quieter system. starting up at 80% is too noisy.

I think the problem with the low thread concurrency may be due to the system only being 32bits.  I would love to see CraPE in 64 bit mode so I can run 64 bit miners.

v0.3 will fix this, include a workaround for keeping persistent network settings, and will include a few other programs, at the request of swiftshoot.
crazyates, any news regarding v0.3 ??
I've been adding features and making tweaks, rather than fixing things (tho I have made a few fixes). I've added a GPU BIOS flash utility. Added TRIXX for those that like to use it instead of MSI AB. I've tweaked my startup scripts to be more stable and prevent cgminer from starting before the network is up. I've added a CGMiner update process, which seems to be working fine. It updated to 3.3.2 just fine, and v0.3 will include the newest CGMiner. I'm still tweaking the network settings option, as I really want to be able to set a static IP and have it persistent across reboots. Once I do that, I think I'll package it and upload it.

V0.4 will focus on some sort of remote management. json.karasoft.com works awesome for monitoring cgminer thru the API, but i want some sort of remote desktop login. I'm thinking VNC is the only option that will work, at least with what prelim testing I've done.

RDP should work on CraPE.  Consider that option please... VNC would be the last option possible.

Will this help KaiDev and others ?
what would help?  The instructions to rebuild a new wallet?  It sure will.  It will clean up the unconfirmed transactions from the wallet and start fresh.
