141  Local / India / Re: Government has found another way to boost its Revenue from Tax on: July 13, 2023, 05:29:05 PM
It seems the Indian government with the help of Babus has found an interesting way to boost their tax revenue. What they forgot is that they need to have some regulation before deciding to implement a tax on any upcoming technology. I came across this post from another forum, sharing it with here. Do share what you think about it. Go through it everything would be clear to you.

This was sheer stupidity by the government to be honest. Online betting I do understand was a crazy thing going around but you should bring in proper laws to make sure online betting can be stopped. Coming to online gaming, slamming GST on it is sheer stupidity. I am surprised this decision comes after a few days since Dream11 became sponsor of BCCI, interesting to see what happens to their contract now.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former SEC Chair Says Bitcoin ETF Should be Approved on: July 13, 2023, 05:26:25 PM
I have seen this ETF thing flying around from so much time now almost more than 5 years, but nothing concrete has really happened on it so far. But yes this time when it comes from blackrock it's pretty hard to deny the approval of this. Also after series of setback to SEC they have even lost their case against XRP today so I think their perspective towards crypto could change and become a little more softer now.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 09, 2023, 06:21:45 PM
Obviously, it's better to invest in any asset as compared to putting your money in such stupid things. Infact I feel it's never worth it to invest into depreciating assets. But yes there is one small difference or exception, if you really are interested into a certain thing and are saving for one specific thing then it's better to go with that specific thing only, no point keeping on investing by killing your dreams and choices.

There are people in world who have likeness for things like cars, watches, pets etc and they spend huge money on them. I don't see any odd thing in doing so as everyone of us has the right to enjoy the life and fulfill our desires. If you have extra money then you can go and buy things you like but never do such things if you are short of cash or from borrowed money. If you have to invest then then Investing in bitcoin is the safest option but for long term.
There is no problem in fullfiling your dreams, problem is when you make it a habit of continuously putting money into depreciating assets rather than appreciating assets. This will build your luxury things for the present but won't help you create those luxury things for your future. So always going into these things is stupidity, better to invest with a goal in mind and then once accomplished buy that thing.
144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 09, 2023, 05:08:49 PM
These skills listed, come with a guarantee to yield at least $10k/month profit in 2023 right now:
•SEO/SEM
•Design/UX
•Tik Tok ads
•Storytelling
•Copywriting
•Ghostwriting
• Email Marketing
• Social Media Management

As a cryptocurrency enthusiaste, irrespective of the coin you trade with, irrespective of the kind of game you bet on and with the way the future is looking for adopted online users and P2P,  coupled with the thrill of being anonymous in a decentralized system,

• Can  gambling or crypto trading/crypto investment be considered as a skill?
• Can a gambler or crypto trader/crypto investor earn as much as $10k in a month besides any of the aforementioned skills?
• What other skills not listed here, can make one up to $10k a month?
• is it even okay to classify being a bitcoiner/signature/campaign member as a skill? If yes, under what skill bracket can it be included?
Yes people can do $10k gain in a month with Crypto, but obviously the thing is the list doesn't contains that how much capital you need for it. A person having $100k in capital, for him this gain might just be one trade away. But for someone with $1k capital it might be impossible even if he has the skills, trading is very different than other vocations therefore. Capital is the very important basic requirement that you have in trading. Also even in the skills you listed I still don't think they can give a "Guaranteed" $10k a month.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 09, 2023, 05:02:24 PM
2-1 in the Series now, Australia’s lead is cut in half.

Well done England, some great batting by the mid to lower order to get them over the line.

On to Old Trafford we go!
Harry Brook the Hero of the second innings.
Mark Wood the best player in the 3rd test for collecting 7 wickets.
Mark Wood & Chris woakes finishers of the innings.

The third Test was England's honor-saving and series-saving Test match, which England won 2–1 to reserve the series for the next match and create ample opportunity to level the series.
TBH after the fall of Bairstow's wicket it did once looked as if England might not be able to complete the chase, but the way Woakes batted was magnificent, almost like a proper all-rounder like Ben stokes. And even mark wood after that ensure that England do cross the finish line, I would say extra runs added by Mark wood in both the innings were very important also not to mention 7 wickets.
146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The price dropping, any reason the huge dump? on: July 08, 2023, 08:47:40 PM
The price of bitcoin is dropping just this afternoon with more than $2k from the opening of $31k today. The huge dump is still going on, so anybody knows what is happening with the dump?

Is this a sign to end the second quarter on a bear?

If bitcoin close on the bear for the month, what do you think with July and 3rd quarter?
As we are already in a very deep valley if you see the overall bitcoin chart be prepared for more such drops. What I feel is that we'll see a lot of points in next few months which will make you doubt overall concept of bitcoin. But those will be the absolute buying points for bitcoin and you'll definitely see a big reversal from exactly those points.
147  Local / India / Re: How many have Ethereum on their prorfolio? on: July 08, 2023, 07:49:37 PM
ETH makes about 20% of my crypto portfolio. Majority of them are earned during the initial golden days of ICOs. I had joined a lot of bounty campaigns that time and made a good amount of ETH. But unfortunately I have sold a lot of them. But I am not actually investing in ETH to be honest. All of my ETH holding comes from bounty.

I rarely invest in crypto either; it's all just comes from side earning. I also earned a lot of ether from bounties but didn't actually convert those alts into eth/btc to secure profits, eventually they all bit the dust (or some stupid decisions like selling aave early, back then it was called ethlend), hence losing most of eth.

Quote
I personally believe that ETH is the second most desirable cryptocurrency in the market.

I personally like it over btc even as long as it's gas prices are decent enough  Tongue

Even I had got ETHLEND out of nowhere. I just opened my wallet one day and found there were these coins. I just ignored it thinking its one of those shitcoins.
After few years I noticed its dollar value had increased significantly and by that time it had converted to AAVE. So I just sold all of them and got around $300.
Now that's a decent amount getting for free.  Grin

Back in '17 money was coming out of thin air whether it be bounties or airdrops, I'd compare that time with today's retrospective airdrops, just for giving your wallet address you used to get token's worth hundreds to thousands dollars.
Ohh I remember those were the days. I even remember Uniswap airdropping and uni later turned into a beast of a coin ranging to new highs everyday. I think Uniswap and Ethland were amongst the major coins which made you money out of of thin air. Ethland caught the steam when metaverse token became a thing until then for a long time it was nothing but a shitcoin sitting in your wallet.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 08, 2023, 07:05:32 PM
I don't know what type of game England play now, Bazball, cazball or simple batball, the target now is not that big and England have already got a good start, from here they can play very carefully and slowly and still win the game or they can play their usual ODI style and still win the game. Point is that they should win the game from here at any costs.
149  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 08, 2023, 04:14:04 PM
Luxury watches at the top end of the market can be considered as an alternative form of investment. While I don't possess extensive knowledge about watches, my understanding from available information suggests that reselling them can yield a substantial profit. The return on investment for luxury watches tends to be quite satisfactory. Prominent examples of such watches include Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Audemars Piguet, some of which have a waitlist spanning two years. Most of these watches tend to appreciate in value.

However, the worth attributed to an item is typically influenced by its demand and supply. While I believe that owning one or two high-end watches, provided they are well-maintained, may outperform stocks, gold, and real estate, it's worth noting that their appeal may diminish over time. This is because future generations are increasingly gravitating towards other interests, such as bitcoin and other emerging trends. If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?
Obviously, it's better to invest in any asset as compared to putting your money in such stupid things. Infact I feel it's never worth it to invest into depreciating assets. But yes there is one small difference or exception, if you really are interested into a certain thing and are saving for one specific thing then it's better to go with that specific thing only, no point keeping on investing by killing your dreams and choices.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 07, 2023, 07:34:49 PM
Two teams are fighting equally. The pacers of both teams are getting more advantage. Pat cummins single-handedly destroyed England's batting line-up. On the other hand team Australia is batting in the 2nd innings. Warner and Smith failed again in the 2nd innings. The partnership of Khawaja and Labuschagne was going to be big but England's bowlers dismissed both of them before that. Australia's 1st innings centurion Mitchell Marsh and Head are now at the crease and they have put on a 26-run partnership. Australia has taken a lead of 142 runs. 2nd day's play is over today. 3rd day is expected to be Australia's full day but  It is now to be seen how long England's bowling can last. I think Australia can beat England if they set a target of 300+ runs.
I think the one very big advantage of the Baz-Ball strategy of England is that much less matches are going for draw now, even this match looks like a complete thriller if England can grab some quick wickets tomorrow and settle Aus below 200 this game might be in their pockets but anything above 250 will be a nightmare to chase on this track, to be honest even 250 is hard enough.
151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: July 07, 2023, 07:10:25 PM
We regret about missing Bitcoin, then about XRP then about Ethereum then Doge then Shiba then Pepe (these are some top of my head and from what I've come across in my crypto term).

Point being there are always new opportunities and dwelling on regrets is futile.

The problem with humans is we always regret for what we missed despite knowing that there was a good chance that we might still not have entered it even if we had an idea about this thing. If I'll tell you today that this shitcoin could rise you'll still call me a stupid and might not agree with me but you'll surely regret it once you see it reaching new heights, fact is that your decision of not believing me was absolutely correct if factually this investment looked wrong to you, other than this you can't do anything more all you can do is trust your own fate.
152  Economy / Economics / Re: Has the popularity of bitcoins reduced interest of people in stocks? on: July 07, 2023, 06:51:33 PM
Stocks give like 20-30% returns in an year but bitcoin and other crypto coins can give this much return in just one day. At such, do you think that increasing popularity of bitcoin has reduced interest of people in stocks.

I think in some countries, people are really shifting to crypto only and most of their investment portfolio is in the form of crypto instead of stocks. The awareness related to crypto is increasing day by day and this more people are getting included in this crowd. Stocks on the other hand become saturated, people have realized that these stocks are not as much profitable as bitcoins. Also, there are other benefits of bitcoins like it can be used for transactions. This cannot be done with stocks.
I don't think so. Infact Covid has greatly increased the interest of people in stock markets. Crypto on the other hand have also got lot of steam due to Covid and the bull run after it but still people doing stocks haven't moved at all. Even in future for let's say even next 10 years it's impossible to turn people to Cryptos from stock. Purely because people find stocks safe as they have government backing and also Cryptos have been too much shamed for money laundering and other illicit activities.
153  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of Farming. on: July 07, 2023, 06:43:22 PM
Land is becoming lesser and not very available for agriculture as before, There is a lot of Urbanization going on and many land space are being built on to carter for the increasing number of persons. There will be lesser organic foods available for consumption as the worlds population increase and farming space reduces. Because of this, there now has to be an improvement in farming methods and I personally consider vertical Farming to be the future of organic food farming.

In vertical farming, Plants are grown in stacked layers under controlled conditions like green house farming.
In vertical farming,
Quote
Ensures Consistent Crop Production
One of the biggest benefits of vertical arming lies in the fact that it is extremely reliable. That means, when you opt for vertical farming, you can be assured of getting consistent crop production throughout the year. This is further made possible because vertical farming doesn’t usually rely on the weather, allowing you to cultivate crops without having to get worked up about adverse weather conditions.
Uses Space Optimally
Reduces Usage of Water
One of the biggest perks of vertical farming lies in the fact that it follows a Hydroponic growing process whereby only 10% of the water is used. This mode of farming also uses fewer fertilizers and nutrients when compared to conventional methods. Since the water is completely clean even after usage, it can be duly reused thereby reducing the total cost and cutting down on waste.
Cuts Down on Transport Cost
You can always choose to grow crops in an area where your customer lives thereby reducing transportation costs, carbon dioxide emissions, and the constant need for refrigerating your produce. At the end of the day, this not only contributes to the freshness of your products but also makes them incredibly profitable.
Doesn’t Involve Chemicals or Pesticides
When you grow food on a vertical farm, you have the chance of completely cutting down on the need to invest in pesticides. That is because your farming is practiced in a controlled environment that prohibits the entry of pests.
Limits Occupational Hazards
With indoor farming in place, no farmer is exposed to the hazards associated with using heavy farming gear. They are also well-protected from a range of ailments like malaria, issues from harmful chemicals, and the likes of it.Since this mode of farming does not affect trees and animals around inland zones, it is also an excellent way to promote biodiversity.
Larger Produce
Probably the biggest benefit of vertical farming is the fact that it helps produce more crops in general. As we already know, this mode of farming enables cultivars to produce crops consistently in a small area. Interestingly, it also boosts the amount of produce.
What do you think about Vertical Farming, do you agree that it is the future of farming really?

https://www.conserve-energy-future.com/advantages-disadvantages-vertical-farming.php
Obviously this is the future, eventually with productivity in land reducing and humans finding more and more spots to settle themselves, vertical farming is the only solution and infact it's more profitable too considering rising land prices in few developing and developed nations. But yes we would need very high tech technology to actually make this a reality because most of the farmers are coming from a uneducated background so for them such a thing is actually difficult.
154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can DEX Replace CEX as the Future of Crypto Trading? on: July 06, 2023, 07:58:31 PM
DEX are slow, very slow infact when it comes to actual day trading or real time trading. This is one of the main reason why they have consistently failed till now and all other exchanges have been able to win the race. I think even fees one can manage if it's under 0.5% or the value of transaction but eventually pace is everything when it comes to trading, you need real AMM and actual trade happening around in exchanges, you want your market orders to always get executed, no one wants it just to become a reference order for AMM to put their bid/ ask around that amount.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 06, 2023, 06:31:47 PM
Australia leading 2-0 in the 5-match Ashes series between England and Australia, lost the toss and went into bat in the third Test. Four wickets fell while the team scored 85 runs. David Warner returned to the dugout after a four-run lead from Stuart Broad caught by Zak Crawley. Later Usman Khawaja, Labuschange, Steven Smith could not help much. Later Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh led the team. Mitchell Marsh brought up his third Test century of his career and the duo put on a 155-run partnership. Mitchell March returned to the dressing room with 118 with seventeen fours and four sixes while Travies Head was dismissed for 39 at the other end. After the fifth wicket partnership broke for 240 runs, only 23 runs later, Australia was bundled out for 263 runs in Australia's first innings. Meanwhile, Mark Wood was called up to the team in the third Test, but he did not make it to the team in the first two Tests. Also chris woakes got three wickets and stuart broad two wickets. Also all the wickets of the team were taken by the fast bowlers. Meanwhile, England went into bat in the third session for 68 runs for 3 wickets in exchange of joe root and jonny Bairstow for the fourth wicket partnership to finish the first day's first innings unbeaten.
England have got a good start to this match to be honest. If you see it currently all that England has to do is stay on the pitch for tomorrow full day and score Atleast a 100 run lead over Australia, this will automatically ease their chances of winning this match. Looking at the pitch obviously it's not that easy to bat full day tomorrow but I think it's bare minimum they will have to do to win th the match.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A portion of my clothing store's weekly profit is invested in Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 06:29:16 PM
I have a small cloth shop. Currently everything in my own country is very expensive, so we are facing many problems in our life. The shop I have used to sell well. But now due to the increase in price, there are not as many customers or sales as before. Again. On top of that I have to pay rent for the shop which has become a bit difficult for me. After entering this platform I got to know Bitcoin. Then after browsing many places I realized that I can earn money by investing in Bitcoin. So I want to invest in Bitcoin. So I have my weekly I decided to invest in bitcoin from a profit share. I think I made the right decision. I hope that I can use my bitcoin profit for other purposes. Hope you guys can help me with good advice.
That's a good move. But speaking of it business wise. I would suggest you to invest in Bitcoin if one point is satisfied. If the returns that bitcoin provides in say next 2 years is better than the ROCE of your business then it's a smart choice to invest in bitcoin if this condition is not satisfied then to be honest it's not that smart decision to invest your profits into bitcoin as you are taking money out of a more profitable thing to put it into a less profitable venture.
157  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: July 06, 2023, 05:19:44 PM
Getting an MBA is beneficial because it sets you apart from the rest of the pack. One of the advantages of an MBA is that it forces you to read and learn, which helps you expand your knowledge about any business you want to venture into. I strongly believe that one of the reasons why start-ups fail is because they lack a solid foundation in understanding frameworks and conducting their own research, instead of relying solely on purchased data. While it is true that not everyone may be able to afford an MBA program, the truth is that there is so much to learn from it. If you had the opportunity to pursue an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company, which option would you choose?

I think the best advantage of an MBA is that it gives you branding and also gives you a lot of contacts. It gives you contacts that you can cherish forever in your business. It gives you that personal branding which can be very helpful while raising funding for your own business. So I would always say it's better to go for an MBA and then start your business it gives you a much wider set of opportunities than just doing business straight away.
158  Local / India / Re: What do you think about Cardano? on: July 02, 2023, 04:31:02 PM
I have been recently trying to find out which crypto projects can become an Ethereum killer? I did a few search and found out that Cardano could have become the next best cryptocurrency after Ethereum.

It could have even become better than Ethereum. It was launched in 2015, by Charles Hoskinson who was also the co-founder of Ethereum. At that time it was way ahead of the Ethereum blockchain.

It was scalable, energy efficient & used POS protocol. What I see now is Ethereum is following its footsteps. What I want to know is why it failed? I do know that the developers were lazy and they did not provide the necessary support.

What else can be the reason? Help me with the reasons and do tell me is it worth staking Cardano? I see the price very lucrative but I don't know how much it can make a difference in my life if I purchase it only for the purpose is staking it.

Thanks.
I don't really think it can be anything now. The project was very good at a time. But I think it's problem just like any other 3rd wave cryptocurrency was that it was too centralized and concentrated in few hands. Even though that helps in lobbying the devs to actually work but also works in a negative way because losing one investor can affect price and even motivate others to withdraw as well.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYC propagation beyond my ownership on: July 02, 2023, 04:27:30 PM
Hi all,

Sorry for the confusing title. I'll try to explain:

What if I buy some KYC Bitcoin through an exchange and then move it to a wallet. And then, let's say I either give some of that Bitcoin to someone else (maybe a charity or a friend), or use it to buy something (maybe a used car off Craigslist). At this point, from my perspective, I no longer own that Bitcoin (i.e. it is "beyond my ownership"). But now what if the person who now "owns" that Bitcoin uses it for some illegal purpose? I would have no knowledge of that transaction, but my KYC has "propagated" to the new owner. If that transaction were to be traced, assuming it hadn't been linked with KYC transactions with the new owner's identity, I would still be the last owner of the transaction from a chain analysis perspective, right? This is not something I've heard discussed before (but admittedly I'm new hear). Seems like a risk.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
A very interesting question not only because there is a no visibility in the area but also you can be an easy scapegoat in such cases. answer to this question doesn't exist at all because even the law itself doesn't properly exists. Obviously in this scenario you'll be considered as the culprit but if you have proofs showing that these are genuine transaction bonafide which you made in good faith I don't think you have anything to worry here.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 02, 2023, 04:12:06 PM
Australia made an incredible comeback. They beat England by 43 runs. In short they snatched the victory from England. After Stokes got out England's batting order collapsed and that's what Australia wanted. I said earlier that as long as Stokes is at the crease, no one can beat England. But Australia's bowlers are very quick. Put England under pressure by taking 3 wickets. Stokes was breathing down Australia's neck while Stokes was at the crease and the win was all England's side. Enjoyed another thrilling match in this Ashes series. Australia lead 2-0 in the five match series which is disappointing for England. Congratulations Australia to the team. Australia team proved themselves why they are the champion team in Tests.
I have already predicted that Australia will beat England and will lose by a high margin. Australia beat England but only by 43 runs. It's a big gap though but I expected more. However, Australia have managed to maintain their standard of play.  This is one of their great virtues. Australia plays well in T20, ODI, Test because their players are very smart and can adapt themselves in all fields. I admire and support them a lot

Australia 2-0 in the Ashes.

Since Australia made 416 runs in the first innings and got a big lead, everyone was expecting Australia to win this test match. However, Ben Stokes did give England hope but his efforts were not enough for England to win and level the series. England now has to seriously think about how to tackle this Australian team, They can't afford another test loss as then it will be all over for this year's Ashes.

Even though English lost the match, I am still surprised by the fact that they went so close to the target even after losing early wickets yesterday. But yes need to rethink the approach losing continuously at home is a big problem. Bazball will also come into a big question after this for sure. I think the bowling some how need to step up in critical situations to actually make a difference.
